Understanding SAS and ASA Triangle Theorems

everyone and welcome to this short lesson where we are going to compare the side angle side and angle side angle triangle congruence theorem so we're going to start off with a quick recap of the side angle side theorem this theorem states that if two triangles have a set of congruent sides along with a congruent angle and another set of congruent sides where that angle is in between those two congruent sides and when this is the case we have enough information to say that these two triangles are congruent now we can look at angle side angle this theorem says that if we have two triangles with a set of congruent angles along with a congruent side and another congruent angle this time such that the side is in between the two congruent angles we have enough information to say that the two triangles are congruent so now we can visually compare these two theorems to help us to better understand them and ultimately choose the right one so side angle side involves two congruent sides with an angle in between them and angle side angle involves two congruent angles with a side in between them so just be sure to keep these differences in mind so that when you are looking at congruent triangles and using theorems that you use the appropriate ones based on the information that you have bye
