How to Transcribe Video to Text Using Veed

Introduction

Steps to Transcribe Video

1. Access Veed

  • Go to Google and search for Veed (V E E D)
  • Click the first link: "Create, edit, and share videos online"

2. Create an Account

  • If you don't have an account, create one for free
  • If you already have an account, click on "New Project"

3. Upload Video

  • In the project editor, click on the upload button
  • Select and upload a video file
  • Monitor upload progress (can take seconds to minutes)
  • Note: With a Pro Veed account, video can be up to 2 hours long

4. Transcribe Video

  • Go to the "Subtitles" tab
  • Click on "Auto Subtitles"
  • Select the language spoken in the video
  • Click on "Start" to begin automatic transcription
  • Wait for the process to complete (seconds to minutes)

5. Review Transcription

  • Text appears as subtitles in timeline and on the video screen
  • Play through entire video to check for accuracy
  • Edit any mistakes directly in the subtitle box (real-time changes)
  • Adjust time and duration of subtitles if necessary (not crucial for transcription)

6. Download Transcription

  • Go to "Options" and click on "Download as .txt"
  • Extract the downloaded zip file to access the transcription text
