hey hey boogies listen I don't have time for the ugabooga change i have to tell you about this show it is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me i'm I'm so excited i can't contain the joy that I have in my heart for what I am about to bring to you i also chose some nice lighter color for the background that is because uh we're about to get into some dark sinister stuff and I want this like to contrast that this is like sea blue you know it's like ah cute which is not what you're going to be saying about some of the things these people do to each other i've made videos on Love is Blind on Perfect Match Love Island on and on and one thing that I have consistently said in those videos if you've watched is that the shows could be way more horrible to the contestants did they listen to me no they did not oh we have morals we have standards you have boredom okay [Music] you're welcome but here comes Temptation Island they said "Hey Dylan I am going to give you everything you've ever wanted." And I'm going to be honest I think it is probably even cruer than anything I could have dreamed of i love it this is how you do a reality television show for psychopaths this show is everything I've ever asked for in a reality television show they have a buffet of sexy options to cheat with separating the couples and then forcing them to watch inflammatory clips of each other allowing no communication leaving you vulnerable and emotionally charged with your only source of consolation a harum of men and women as I'm saying this I I can't believe this show exists i can't believe they did this now I believe Temptation Island uh this is like a reboot of the show because it first aired in like the early 2000s 2002 or something like that but uh I wouldn't know much about that i wasn't born yet and also I'm not here to give you a history lesson what do I look like a school but I have scam written on my forehead no I don't i'm here just to take you through 10 episodes of some of the craziest television I've seen in some time here is the premise four couples come to this island all of these people have been in relationships for between 1 to three and a half years they are couples that have dealt with jealousy infidelity i'm going to be referring to these four core couples as the core four or separately the core four girls and the core four guys right the stated goal of the show is they are trying to bring temptation to your door and you can resist that temptation both of you then you're going to be fine out in the real world that's their logic cuz they're going to throw 12 hotties in front of you and if you don't cheat at all then you're going to be fine and if you do cheat then uh hey we got some spicy TV four couples and I'm going to let you know now one of these couples has a super sweet and nice little romance that ends with just a beautiful bow tied on the relationship good for them the other three are varying forms of degeneracy the worst of which will have your jaw on the floor from his sheer g it's so good i can't wait let's start with Grant and Ashley this seems nuts and people are probably wondering what the hell we're doing and I feel the same way i had a hard time taking Grant seriously from the beginning because uh he looks like a frat boy drawn in the Beas and Buttad universe how does a real person look like him he just walks among us and we allow it not that we should do anything about it i'm just saying like if I saw him I'd be like "Hey bro can I get a photo?" You don't come across someone that looks like you every day you know what I mean i wrote quick shorthand notes as I was watching through just so I could reference later my thoughts as I was going through the show grant Ashley are the first couple that were were shown and my first words after seeing him I wrote "First guy easy cheater guarantee." Immediately I was like "They have no chance he's cheating." And it's super obvious that she doesn't want to be there she can hardly look at him her body language is an easy tell the reason they came on the show is because he wanted to prove to her that he can remain loyal the reason she's questioning it is because one month into their relationship he cheated on her i knew where I had messed up i chased her across the world to Greece i surprised her because there was no way I was letting Ashley go this is his chance to prove himself 17 days that's approximately how long they shot for so if he can just not cheat for 17 days he is going to gain immeasurable trust with the woman that he loves and all he has to do is just not cheat for 17 days i have been staring at her lips non-stop and I've been thinking about kissing her non-stop that is about day three of the journey and day one is none of the girls are in the house yet day one is a freebie day day two he's already telling one of these new girls that he's not sure he wants to be with his girlfriend anymore are you leaning towards we're going to get back together or are you leaning towards like there's too many issues that I don't know right now in this moment I'm teeter tottering in the middle unfortunately for him the show has a little bonfire scene which is like the famous part of the show where they all sit around the bonfire and watch clips of their partners saying and doing horrible things and that clip is going to be shown to his girlfriend so that's going to be fun but that girl isn't even the girl for him because there's another girl her name is Natalie I believe he actually kisses her cheating right well he has a line that was so funny that I had to pause the show so I could laugh those two are back at the house Tarzanning which is what I call when two people are like "Oh let's let's compare hand sizes." Which I don't know that that's relevant to Tarzan i just remember a scene where baby Tarzan is like "Our hands are different or the same." Or I it's been a long time since I've seen Tarzan i'm going to be honest i don't know what that scene was about but it doesn't matter because they're taranning in the hammock sweet music's playing in the background and then we cut to a diary room where he says this technically by me kissing Natalie that would be crossing all the boundaries that Ashley and I set for each other but I just don't want this to feel like I'm cheating what a ridiculous thing to say what What should it feel like grant you're you've been in a relationship for 1 and 1/2 years you came here very specifically to test your loyalty and to show and prove that you are somebody who can resist temptation also another little note about Grant he has a daughter and my thing is like how are you this bad at treating women you love with basic respect i just I've come to realize there are some people that are just never going to get it like I don't have a daughter and I think it like I'm starting to hit an age where I start to look at people and go "Oh what if that was my daughter?" Which does not say it does not say good things about my age it doesn't that's not the focus here guys but those are my thoughts you actually have the daughter how come you didn't get the thoughts Grant maybe I'm being hasty maybe he was on his way out with uh with Ashley and maybe Natalie they are soulmates all right so now it it looks a little crash on the outside but they're just meant to be together maybe or maybe two new castmates are about to be introduced and Grant immediately takes a liking to one of them grant starts openly flirting with uh the new girl which upsets his affair partner which is a hilarious sentence i am not the girl that you are going to play these little games with just scrumptiously ironic right i will be honest that's not the last we're going to see of Lady Irony she is an everpresent castmate this season but my favorite part of that moment was you can actually see Natalie the seeds of that lesson are planted and she's starting to realize it doesn't sprout just yet but uh it's starting grant is panicking now because he's like "Oh my god how do I salvage my affair i think I may have screwed up." He's got gumption i'll tell you that this is his excuse he says "Hey Natalie the reason I was flirting with the new girl it's actually Ashley's fault because her and I used to go out and she used to really be into me flirting with other women that's his literal actual excuse i wasn't trying to disrespect you but that's what you did ashley kind of wanted me to go off and make her a little jealous you know when we were out at bars and that excuse works because she is 22 and they end up naked in a shower what do they do in that shower well they're they're not washing off their sins I'll tell you that much no they b they bang they bang all right handprint on the shower pain and everything you know which I I don't know if that's real or if that's like a digital effect i wouldn't put it past the show because the show just does so many things right but again in a psycho way which I I'm going to be honest I don't know if if everyone loves this show as much as I do or if I'm one of the select few who's like there's something wrong in here you know there's a screw loose you know and it holds together something very important and it's not there that part's just kind of rattling around a little bit i'm not sure i think particularly what made this show so great is every decision that the castmates seem to make is it's just the funniest decision they can make in the moment take Grant for example okay so it's the the morning after the the shower smoosh what's the funniest thing Grant could do and say to Natalie i want you to theorize in your head and then I'm going to tell you the next morning Grant is mournfully playing the guitar singing a remorseful song [Music] and Natalie approaches him and he says "Hey Natalie so listen um about last night i think I need to take some time for myself." Or no what I want to get the exact words what did he say ah yes here it is he needs to practice being alone i need to honestly practice being alone a little bit that's right babe no babe you don't get it i got a I got a big alone game coming up and I got to practice i [ __ ] love this show man in the DR the diary room he explicitly says I just don't feel like it's right like I live with Ashley i we were planning a life together yeah dude that was true yesterday before the shower smoosh meanwhile cut over to Ashley in the girls house i call it the girls house but there's four girls and and 12 guys but that's considered the girls house cuz that's where the core four are she's taking her time she's doing things appropriately so she's just kind of lightly flirting with the guys some take interest in her she takes an interest in some but no boundaries are crossed maybe some lightly flirtatious conversation but in the context of the show that's nothing one thing she says about Grant is let me see i know Grant loves me i just don't know if he loves me enough to respect me listen ladies you don't need this lesson i don't even I don't know why I'm telling it to you like you need to hear this if that ever comes out of your mouth you're not with the right guy she has two guys that she calls her two boyfriends in the house one of them is Harden [ __ ] Scott this guy right here i had to Google i I paused the show and I went to Google to check to see what Harden's tattoos look like cuz I thought for a second that this guy saw after and saw like the craze of women going crazy for Harden and then he just like got all of Harden's tattoos that was my actual thought the other guy is an Australian but he's from Nebraska and as far as I can tell he's never never been to Australia he just has that Australian look you know it's not fair that he's Nebraskan nebraskanian Nebraskan whatever i don't want to be mean about him because he's like a nice guy but don't wear your sunglasses like this you look like an idiot and then also the mullet and mustache combo individually those are not good looks together 50/50 predator oh by the way aside because you guys you guys this has been a problem in our community for years we need to address it this is not a mustache i don't have a mustache okay even Joe there was an edit Joe sent back uh I said like I was making fun of someone's mustache and he sent an edit back to me where it was the the the Pam from the office meme they're the same picture of me and the the guy and I was like "Oh my god." I deleted it from the video i had a stern talking with Joe okay a mustache is defined by having hair on your upper lip and nowhere else think of it this way if you had your face dumped in milk and then you came up for breath and then someone looked at you and laughed and said "Haha you have a milk mustache." You would say "No I have a face full of milk you idiot." Technically there is a mustache in there but there's milk everywhere the amount of crash outs I have had when I've gone through comment sections mentioning a mustache and people are like "Uh Dylan ever heard of air?" I've punched air so hard i have been holding on to this for years bonfires we're out of the aside they are what makes this show great every few days the core four girls and core four guys go to separate bonfires where the show plays them out of context clips of their partners' bad actions and words you would say "No I have a face full of milk you idiot." Oh the goal of the show is to drive a wedge between the couples to entice them to cheat it's like look how awful your partner is being you don't want to be with them be with one of the new hotties huh and it's sinister and I I truly mean that because they will try to lead you to a conclusion by removing context from clips i mentioned earlier at the first bonfire Ashley has played the clip of Grant saying "I just don't know if I want to be with her." And they ask her "How do you feel about that?" She's like "I'm I'm I'm numb to it." He is such a loser that she has just gotten used to him acting loserly but since Ashley is acting appropriately the show plays a clip of her saying "I don't know that I can trust Grant." And I'm just giving him so many opportunities to prove it and he is not just like I'm never going to trust him like he just like overpromises and underdelivers and Grant hears that and he says at the final bonfire I'm going to you know see if she's grown that's so funny cuz even the host is like that's what you that's what you're taking away that she needs to change so much of this language you just had was she she she she the next bonfire that they do is the bonfire where she sees the the kiss and then also the shower smoosh the clip that he sees is another conversation she's having where she says "Why would the universe saddle me with this piece of garbage guy which is funny not for him obviously he does not he does not take kindly to that for some reason." See Grant is upset with Ashley because she won't get over the cheating he did at the start of their relationship i am not a bad guy i am a good father i'm a good man i have good intentions i have a big heart i have a lot of love to give i have so much to give you don't understand like I just I have so much love in me it's too much for one person i got to give it out to multiple women if I don't I'll just overflow and drown yeah is that what you want you want me to drown also it's funny that he's like "Oh she won't get over my cheating that's been an issue in our relationship." He's saying that after having cheated again there's just no self-reflection to this guy that's the saddest part you can't date this guy you just can't grant buddy listen you got to listen to me here maybe she doesn't trust you because you're not a trustworthy guy and that's the thing that frustrates me too if if you cheat it is incumbent upon you the cheater to do what it takes to earn back the trust of the person you cheated on you don't get to demand like "Hey it's been enough time you got to forgive me now you know what I mean you either have to continue to earn back the trust until it's satisfactory to the other person or end the relationship if you feel like it's never going to happen you broke that trust you don't get to decide for the other person when it's okay when Ashley sees the shower scene at the second bonfire they ask her how she feels and she says she feels relief i think I knew who I came here with and that's who he is she's always known who Grant is the show is just giving her indisputable proof of his character like the man showed his full ass and I I mean that literally and just when I think that this show can't get any more juicy it adds a new wrinkle and Joe if you just added an age joke there talking about me wrinkles I I I will punish you the new element to the show is called Temptation Haven it is a tent that doesn't have any cameras in it it's kind of nice you can kind of get away with anything you want in the tent however you're still wearing microphones so that's they're still capturing audio but then also if you go in the tent a light goes off at the other house so if a guy goes in the tent a light at the girl's house goes off when this was being explained I was imagining um kind of like an NBA challenge light i just know Joe's British ass doesn't know what that is i I'm not going to help him either joe I want you to put on screen what you think an NBA challenge light is okay i don't know what he put but I just know I'm embarrassed i'm embarrassed already did I set him up maybe a little bit i don't know let me show you what an NBA challenge light actually is this This is what I thought was going to be the light that went off maybe like on the dining room table let me show you what the light that goes off actually looks [Music] like flood lights that pulse that is that is insane the psychological damage that that would do because they're not allowed to find out who went into the tent so all four of the women are thinking like "Oh god which one went in?" And the show just lets them stew in that anxiety and fear this [ __ ] is psychotic do you see why I love the show the first one that went into the temptation tent or whatever it was called yep that's right it was Grant smooshing in the shower was not enough for him now let's do it on a communal mattress which I to be fair Grant's the first one in right so it's like it's the most hygienic time to go if you're going to go actually no he wasn't the first one in no he wasn't the first one in but the the first one in they say that just kissed don't worry we'll cover who went in first in a little bit the next day the girls after a night of paranoia fear anxiety uh they're not doing so well but they're there for each other you know they're they're keeping a brave face and then all of a sudden we're at the guy's house corpor now the guys are losing it what the [ __ ] selfishly I'm hoping it's not Ashley you know oh no it's an evil world we live in bro it's a evil world i want you to remember that clip that just played because the gumption that that guy had to say that is astounding that ends an episode it is a fantastic cliffhanger this show just knows how to do television baby because they don't reveal it to us which one of the girls went into the tent i think that's kind of like one of the negatives maybe a little bit of the situation i kind of knew that none of the girls had any like physical connection with any of the guys just yet so my guess was Ashley had taken one of the her boyfriends or her crushes that she calls them just into the tent to uh either show him what it looks like or to just like set the lights off at the guy's house to cause them some paranoia and that's exactly what it was ashley took the Australian in cy he said getting inside but the next night Ashley takes the Australian in again and this time there's some kisses involved oh Ashley you dog of course that sets the lights off at the guy's house and Grant scoops up Natalie and says "Oh you you thought you thought you thought." And they smoosh so not only did Grant set this chain of events off but he also went way further than Ashley but I promise you when Grant looks back at this he's going to think that Ashley is just as culpable as he is and again just like when he played the guitar in the hammock the next morning this is Grant in the diary room if she could really let go of that resentment if she's willing to put in that work I'd marry Ashley one day i'm just wondering if Ashley and I are going to make it out of here i'm going to be honest big fella i don't have a good feeling about that at the next bonfire of course Grant is shown Ashley going into the tent with the Australian and another guy pats him on the back reassuringly this is what I wrote down shorthand Grant get Pat on back dude's an idiot no pats what I was trying to say is uh it's great to have your friends back but that only goes up to a point if you dig yourself deeply into a hole and say "Hey I'm stuck." I'm not going to be responsible for pulling you back out of that hole i want nothing to do with that hole we're closing in on the end of their journey and relationship the show does a great job of having MOIs i call them moments of interest these are moments specifically where the show is it's going to air whatever happens for example this MOI is the castmates all the core fours they're allowed to send a 30-se secondond video message to their partner if they so choose grant makes a video that Ashley watches he says that he forgives her for how she talks about him i've only focused on your feelings and have neglected my own but I forgive you finally I forgive myself and he leaves the door open for reconciliation which is disrespectful to two different women which is just it's an incredible feat really if you think about it ashley for her part she does not send him a message empty box and he is heartbroken by this now at the very final bonfire all the couples are they come back together for the first time in a couple weeks they're made to sit down face to face and talk about their feelings in their relationship and they could choose at that point do they want to leave together do they want to leave alone or do they want to leave with someone new these two come face to face there's tension it's awkward and another thing the show allows is they can both they both get a monologue essentially they can't be interrupted grant tells her that he forgives her but more importantly forgives himself for cheating which I think is exactly what she was waiting to hear and then she says this "The objective of us coming here was for you to prove that I could trust you and then railing some girl in the bathroom." And this "You're a serial cheater you're going to sit here and act like I don't know you cheated on in every relationship you've been in." Grant's decision he decides to leave alone then the question is posed to to Ashley you want to leave with Grant alone or with someone else and she says I'm going to leave the island with the new connection I made and Grant is like "Oh my god how could you do this to me?" There is more to their story i looked up what happened to each of the couples after they uh they left the show i still haven't processed what happened but uh I'm going to share it with you at the very end with all the couples but let's switch to another couple Taylor and Tyler and what I love about this season is they cast four different couples that had different issues in their relationship some of the themes overlap but the the specific issues are they vary depending on the couple so that means that the the problems that manifest are unique to each the big issue in Taylor and Tyler's relationship is he used to be in medical sales but he quit that job to pursue modeling tyler cheated early on in their relationship that they've been together for 2 and 1/2 years i do want to specifically say it was a kiss that he cheated with which is still cheating but you know there's levels to this and he wants to use this opportunity to figure out if they should either continue the relationship or call it quits i'm lucky to have this experience for her to loosen the reins and let me adventure a little bit you know do I need to stand up and say "Okay do we need to walk away or keep fighting?" So immediately after hearing that I'm like "Okay they're they're done." If you're coming to Temptation Island with a brittle relationship there's no chance it lasts this isn't coup's counseling the girl that he takes an interest in is her name is Kay and I had a terrible impression of her i don't know something about this clip just like I don't I don't know i got I got like a big ick you work out am I doing it right what's this for what was it about that that that made me go eh at their very first bonfire Tyler sees a clip of Taylor saying it frustrates her that he won't put the toilet seat down he's shaken by this it's kind of funny thing is like the toilet seat like you're a man put the toilet seat down does he not put it down no like obviously there's deeper things going on but uh that is that's like the the big thing of their you know the first bonfire clip she also does mention him not having a job which clearly is a contentious part of their their feuding recently he quit a highpaying career path and is now doing a more freelance path that you know who knows there's no job security in that and if you want to settle down get married it kind of throws a wrench in those plans but still it's it's the toilety comment that that really hits him and he's ready to break up like literally it's it's day two i'm just honestly wanting to kind of walk away right now i'm trusting this process and I'm trusting that y'all are going to help me through this trusting Temptation Island to help you through this uh dog hm all they're going to do is throw hotties and bikinis at you while showing you clips of your girlfriend bad mouthing you what kind of help did you think they were going to provide you meanwhile Taylor sees clips of him getting danced on during a flirty game everyone's playing this hurts her so she goes back to the house to vent to the guys she says that Tyler has [ __ ] tendencies verbatim do you think your man's an immature sensitive man tyler has [ __ ] tendencies listen I know emotions are high in this moment but damn he's not the guy for you clearly I think most girls want somebody who is somewhat sensitive somewhat in touch with their feelings but not her and you know what that's all right i thought this was funny too because there was a guy later on who uh who she picks for a date in fact I think it's the guy that she says the [ __ ] tendencies line to and as they're on their date he's like "I would never bring my girl to the show i'm a jealous guy when that's my woman that's my woman." And I'm thinking "Oh god she's eating this up." That's what she wants a dominant man dominant traits and then we cut to the diary room and she's saying "He's super dominant super assertive." I definitely feel like it's a red flag so we don't want the dominant guy and we don't want the sensitive guy uh we're starting to run low on types of guy i don't know if she clocked this mentally or not i love the response that uh he gave her when she said the [ __ ] tendencies line tyler has [ __ ] tendencies like I'm just calling it like I see it and I will That's That's dope that you can actually speak on that it's dope that you can speak on that what are you talking about dude i hate when people talk just to fill space between someone else's sentences actively participate in the conversation or just sit there silently it's dope that you can speak on that what the [ __ ] does that even mean guy all of the core forers needed to ask somebody on a date uh one of the attempters which I'll call the uh the 12 men and the 12 women who are there to basically just tempt the corpor of the guys ask just directly to the girl but Tyler gives a note to one of the other girls and on that note it was like a cute little you know will you go on a date with me type of thing which I think is cute it also um kind of had some [ __ ] energy to it almost like he has the tendencies of a [ __ ] their date goes well and she ends up coming on his room um coming to his room but just for a room tour and now you say "Dylan that's ridiculous this is Temptation Island no way she just came to tour his room." But no they that's that's exactly it that precipitates her starting to come over for sleepovers which they don't they don't they don't you're thinking do they they don't it's all It's got It's more intimate honestly than the smooshing technically it's it is crossing a boundary cuz there's a lot of touching as well not touching touching but you know just kind of intimate couple type touching not like that do you get what I'm saying so at the first bonfire Tyler was already like "Hey yeah I'm I'm pretty much out on my relationship there's almost no chance I go back to it." And at the second bonfire we see a clip of him in the diary room and I was like "Oh [ __ ] my relationship is is over." And I'm okay with that i did think that the diary room sessions wouldn't be used as bonfire fodder i don't know the diary room is always supposed to be like it like a diary where it's like you know these are private thoughts that you're getting to the audience i didn't realize they were going to show those clips to to their partners uh I don't know how I feel about that yet and I know it's ridiculous to to have standards now but I'm thinking like if if I was a contestant if I know that my diary room sessions could be used against me to try to make me look bad to my relationship partner I might be less forthcoming which defeats the purpose of the diary room you know what I mean and I know that it's going to eventually be seen by your partner if they watch the show if that footage is used but still I don't know i I didn't like that i thought that him saying this relationship is over was going to have her going off on an alltime rant look at this guy [ __ ] ass tendencies who was right me instead she says this i want this relationship so bad to work i feel broken so that's less fun i love watching the psychological torture that the show puts them through but sometimes I don't there's duality to me i'm a complex gay they leave it doesn't matter if it's family friends relationships it does not matter when she says that every single relationship that she's ever had in her life has ended poorly not just romantic relationships family friendships you think "Oh that's that's sad i feel bad for this person." At the same time I also think this is going to sound mean okay I'm actually going to take a I'm on a pause here this what I'm about to say is mean but this is what we do in counseling is this counseling this is counseling at a certain point if every single relationship that you've been in has failed some of it might be your fault i'm sure there I'm sure she's had relationships where she's has little to no faults whatsoever when you're talking a dozen two dozen relationships it's like ah at some point some point there's a there's a common denominator between these and it's like that's not that's not fun to confront mark Wahlberg the the host of the show he does a phenomenal job all season i do want to give him some praise because I'm about to criticize him but I do want to say he is one of the best hosts I've ever seen of any show and certainly the best host of any dating show couples are getting very vulnerable and raw during this experience but he does a good job of like unpacking things and uh digging deeply into their their trauma um just really opens them up for more hurt and pain no he does a great job though of um of cutting underneath a lot of the obvious like the anger and getting into some of the more emotional stuff when Taylor opens up and says she feels like she's the problem like everyone leaves her he starts where I think most people start he says this "Do you know how awesome you are?" My brain is different you guys know this that's why you watch and sometimes criticize i'm a little weird i'm a weirdo i don't fit in and I don't want to fit in one thing I hate is platitudes it is such uh it's like the first thing that people go to like for example when someone you you know very like a very small amount says like "Oh you're so amazing you're so special." It's like you don't you don't know me enough to make that declaration you probably say that to everybody and if you do say it to everybody it doesn't mean anything to me it's like when people say everyone's special in their own ways you are special you're special in your own unique way it's like yeah okay okay well so if everybody's special then nobody's special because special would imply that I'm a cut above the rest but if you say that to everybody if everybody's a cut above the rest then nobody is does that make sense do you know how amazing you are it's like hey man I've known you for a day you know who also thinks this way freaking Taylor she also thinks that the uh the the words are hollow and she says as much i'm just thinking of things in my head that discredit what you're saying i'm just saying you don't know me i just feel like when people get to know me they leave everybody else leaves i'm not surprised i would probably leave me too i would leave me too i listen I shouldn't laugh at that that's just a fun That's a funny thing to say either way it's a fun moment cuz Mark is stumped she doesn't believe the words I'm saying and he's like I don't know where to go from here i think Mark takes that as a challenge he kind of makes her kind of like his special little project and ironically enough speaking of people leaving Taylor let's talk about Case case is somebody that she hits it off with very early on but one of the MOIs that happens early in the season is they need to kick out two of the guys and two of the girls uh the Tempters the girls pick their guys in case he's watching he's like "Wait are those guys leaving?" Now when this scene you're about to see unfolds I went into a hysterical fit laughing i was laughing so hard and I wrote down specifically that it was 1:26 a.m because I was I was like "Is this funny or is it late?" I just didn't know but Case rushes over and he's like "Hey Mark I want to eliminate myself would just like to join cuz I'd like to eliminate myself." And I was like "You can just leave you didn't have to leave during a ceremony you could just get your stuff and [ __ ] go." Also like his energy he's so giddy about it i want you to listen to something Mark says listen to what he says here i got no problem with that so I'm going to honor your request to leave you know what i thought about it and I will honor your request to leave you don't get a say it's not a requ like I I can leave if I want to right are am I a captive are you keeping me prisoner here sensing that the that everybody's going through a really hard time they're abruptly ending the experience of you know four people so Mark's like "Hey you know what we're going to do we're going to take a pause we're going to have boys go out for boys night girls go out for girls night so boys you're going to go grab a drink they hang out with each other low stakes girls beach painting nice calm night and the girls are ecstatic about this i think I felt like the flood of relief where it's like "Okay we need a night off." I got you four going out as a girl date four girls no guys okay ladies first time I've seen a smile in a long time but sorry ladies this is another MOI we're introducing two new guys the two new guys are like "Oh we're we're your models that you're going to paint uh psych we're actually your new roommates and the girls are like "Yay." And I hate it for the guys too cuz now they look like idiots cuz they're in the dining room like "We're going to turn this house upside down." And no one is excited to see them the girls aren't the the guys that have been at the house aren't excited to see them and then they're not around for the rest of the season they're just in the background occasionally but they're not important at all during the 30-se secondond video message that they can send Tyler sends her a message he says "I love you and I want what's best for you." And that's it and then he opens up his box and he sees there's nothing inside and he is pissed i feel like I just got clowned is this some sick joke one thing that I think is less common than you would realize is um fully understanding somebody else's perspective if Tyler took a second to recognize the position that uh he put Taylor in he might understand why she might not want to send him a message he brought her on the show as they were parting ways he said "Have faith in me." Or he said something like crazy like "Don't give up on me." Or something like that like "Don't give up on me my relationship is is over." Literally on day two or three you're already like "Hey I'm I think I'm moving on from this relationship." And it's one thing if you ended the relationship before you came on a a reality television show but to have somebody who struggles with feeling wanting to be chosen and then to bring her there break up with her but not tell her because you're not communicating with her start dating someone new and you're upset that she has nothing to say to you thinking about your partner's feelings and emotions beyond just what you can perceive on the surface is the bare minimum for a relationship she eventually starts hitting it off with Yemen but it kind of feels like a a rebound relationship it doesn't feel like there's any real sparks everyone may get into a little bit of a a fling or a relationship on the show but it's like we live on opposite sides of a country we've known each other for 2 weeks are we really going to start up a romance if you're just getting out of a relationship it's one of the things Love is Blind does well they they cast based on city so everyone lives near each other already and then plus you got to factor in the tempters it's their role to essentially kind of like woo you to make you swoon over them and then to steal them away not only because it's part of the experience and you know it's it's almost a challenge but then also you get more screen time and more fame out of the show and you can maybe get invited on a a different Netflix production later on potentially you know what I mean so it's like there's there's a lot of advantages to acting like you're into somebody so I'd always had that in the back of my head too case comes back though i want to mention him it's so funny apparently he is a prisoner because he's like "Hey yeah so I'm I'm back now." Mark was excited about this because uh he was like "Hey remember remember how you said everybody leaves you?" Well guess who left you and now he's coming back i really haven't stopped thinking about you since the bonfire not everybody leaves thank you it's kind of too late in the experience like all the meaningful relationships she was going to have built she's she's built them already and he's been gone for them so it's like "Hey I'm so glad you're back." And then that's that's pretty much where it ends taylor and Tyler's final bonfire come face to face there was a moment during the final bonfire where Mark compliments one of Tyler's answers in responses i maybe I'm wrong about this but I think I saw Tyler suppressing some like like deep satisfaction some deep joy perhaps at being praised by somebody who's like an authority figure tyler does go on to to talk about like why he quit his job to pursue modeling it was like he felt like he was always on a single track that uh he was put on he didn't want to be on that track and he wanted to explore himself and uh life a little bit more than the single track he's been on so reading way too deeply into who he is as a person than the information I have available I think he just wants to have somebody be proud of him and the choices he makes and the man he is i I think that's what it is he always tries to present himself in a very specific way all he's always sitting like this very measured his responses are are always very good and I don't want it to make it seem like it's it's false however it's always very measured and that's not how she operates at all so for her monologue she's going to tell him how she feels she pulls out she's written it down and at one point she says unironically "You played me." And more important you you played yourself you played me but really you played yourself i think she had AI write her final closing statements to him it was tough to watch uh because I feel like I also see like I saw him i saw beneath what he was trying to present i also think I see beneath her what she's trying to present as somebody with high walls i think I I feel a sort of kinship to her although the way that she expresses it and and goes about it it's different than I go about it cuz when she's saying it's your loss it's in a very spiteful way and I'm so sorry you're not going to get the opportunity to know this new and improved version of me i can see that she doesn't believe the words that she's saying she wants it to be true she wants to be like "Oh it's your loss." But we know from her previous statements everyone leaves her she wants someone to choose her she doesn't believe these things tyler ends his monologue by saying you know I do want to be a thoughtful person so I apologize it's like you can just do it you don't have to proceed your apology with how big it is of you to apologize you know what I mean and also an example of him being like practiced in in saying the things he thinks he should say he says this i was not motivated in my decision with us by sexual relations with another person sexual relations easy there Bill Clinton all right what it comes down to is I think they want the best for each other but I think she wants to push him to be great and he wants to be nurtured to be great one is uh softer and one is more forceful she chooses to go home alone he chooses to go home with Kay we're going to talk about how that ended up because again that relationship Jesus but okay you know what we've had a fair bit of degeneracy and the worst is still yet to come but I say the worst but it's also the most entertaining and the most fascinating by far but before we get into that I want to I want to take a second let's appreciate Alexa and Lo a nice relationship for once what are they doing here Dylan let me tell you 3 and 1/2 years that's how long the relationship has been very first note that I took of them or about them was when Mark is explaining how the show is going to work he asked them kind of rhetorically like "Hey are you ready i captain but I noticed Lo turn to Alexa and says "Are you ready let's do it." I think we're ready we'll see you ready not to say that the other people had a wrong response but I thought it was telling you know when they were about to embark on this journey instead of having like excitement he turned to his partner and and checked in on her they were also the only couple where the infidelity was on her side so at the start of their relationship when they became exclusive she wasn't just exclusive with him which defeats the purpose of exclusivity it's like exclusivity means like hey it's only me and you she had somebody else and that is the core root of a lot of their issues at the very first bonfire he sees a clip of her saying she doesn't need him i have so many things that I can do by myself like I don't really need him that was out of context the context was she was saying being apart from him I I want to want him around i don't want to need him around you know I want to be independent on my own but I do want him around and I want to be with him but the show was like nope just clip that little I don't need him and at her bonfire she sees a clip of him bringing up the insecurity he feels around being the second choice and for her cheating early on in the relationship one thing that I did not like that she said "Oo can't keep bringing that up from so long ago when that is a different Alexa he can't keep bringing up me cheating because that was the old me that was the old Alexa i'm not even her anymore you can't blame me for cheating cuz technically I didn't cheat the old Alexa cheated and I'm not her i love girl math that's It's so fun to follow that logic but that is why cheating is so hard to get over in a relationship because the person who cheated if they have care for the person and wants to stay in the relationship you put in the work to try to gain back that trust but the other person they're not in your head they don't know if that is genuine or if you're just putting in enough trust to I guess exchange another cheat token it's like if you're if you're willing to hurt me already once why wouldn't you be willing to do that again if that's in your character to do so i feel like it's it's so common place for people to have cheated where people are a lot more open about it like oh yeah I used I used to be a cheater or whatever and it's like I guess it's good that you could talk about it but it's it's so sick and I and I mean sick in a cool way it's sick it was a bit odd with Lo and his journey on the show because uh frankly the show didn't show him exploring much but he would go to the diary room and talk about like I'm going to explore temptation a bit you know how that's what that's what the purpose of me coming on the show is but then we never really see him doing that and I don't know if it was the girls getting a sense like truly deep down he wasn't going to be able to be tempted so they focused their efforts elsewhere or if the show just didn't have anything juicy compared to the other couples so they just gave him less screen time i don't know what which one it is there is one girl that Lo kind of pursues her name is Alex i think Lo has a type girls whose first four letters of their name are a L E X lo says that she is the only girl that tempts him in the entire house but it is also kind of gross because well you'll find out so he does try to pursue her but it's so clear she's not really interested she's more interested in Brienne the last guy we're going to be talking about so he keeps chasing her despite her showing very faint interest in him even after what she does which I can't spoil cuz oh my god we'll get there we'll get there it's like damn but like uh we'll wait it was also kind of crazy because one of the things he comes to terms with throughout this season is he's always felt like the second choice and it's kind of something he's known that has been a problem in the relationship he feels like he can't commit because he doesn't feel like her first choice but I do harbor like some resentment of like you know not being the first choice and he feels that way because uh she was previously married early on in the relationship she was also exclusive with another guy and I think he thinks that she was taking that relationship more serious to him she is his first love so it kind of makes him feel uneven in the relationship so for him to chase Alex who has Lo as the clear second choice to Bion it's it's kind of crazy and I feel like we can learn something he got your learning caps on boogies from the outside we can see he's engaging in an unhealthy dynamic he is chasing somebody who he is the second choice of i feel like I just have a stronger sexual connection with Bon than I do Lo but the reason he does that is because that is a familiar feeling he's not choosing that because I think he wants to he's choosing that because it's comfortable to him even if it's wrong or bad in the long run and I think a lot of times that's the the choices people make they they choose the thing that is uh more familiar even if it's not healthy for them take those caps off now [Laughter] [ __ ] i don't know why I said that during the MOI where they send 30 secondond messages uh they both send very sweet things and I'm grateful to call you mine in front of the entire world i hope to see some growth from both of us at the end of this journey and I love you so so much i love you and miss you more and more every day and when everyone is taking the person the tempter that they've grown closest to on their final date he takes his tempter the one he's grown closest to to go ring shopping for Alexa and during their final bonfire I just kept waiting for that moment that he was going to propose cuz I thought like I don't know when he was going to drop it in so I kept I kept waiting for it and he kept not doing it and then they get up and they walk out after choosing to leave together and I'm like "Okay is did he change his mind or something?" But no he takes her off to a side little thing it's so nice it's so romantic it's so sweet will you marry me it's probably the correct formula for the show where it's 75% degeneracy 25% wholesome love oh one other thing I wanted to point out about their relationship on day one when they were talking to Murk in I guess being introduced to us in episode one Mark asked each couple what their boundaries are like what uh what is allowed what's not allowed what's crossing the line and each couple had a specific answer for what they are allowed and not allowed to do but with Alexa and Lo they had no they had not talked about it we actually didn't make any rules we came to a decision that it would be better to fully immerse ourselves now I think most people think "Oh that's that's risky." Cuz it's like "Oh well if one of them crossed the boundaries they could say you know they have plausible deniability where they were like you know what I didn't know that that was not allowed or whatever." But when you actually have a strong foundation of a relationship and you're both on the same page and you want to respect each other you don't need to talk about what is disrespectful cuz you're considering the the other person always so they didn't need to discuss it because they have love and care for each other where they they knew intuitively what is too far and what's not too far if you have to tell your partner not to kiss and rub on and touch and smoosh in the shower with someone else it kind of makes your relationship feel like it's not as serious as you think it is now let's move on to the final couple i need you guys to really strap in you are going to be on the floor this is the craziest journey you're going to be on brian and Shante they have been together for one year they met when she was seeking financial advice and got um through a mutual friend introduced to Brienne and later that night she it wound up in his bed great financial strategy now based on her personality that that is coincidental it's just a it's a funny story it could imply like gold digger or something but that's not the case at all brianna on the other hand when telling us why he wanted to come on the show it was because I think I'm just ready to take a relationship serious and I wrote by coming here with two question marks that's an odd It's an odd gesture their first bonfire we've covered the what the other couples had to deal with a lot of difficult things one person was already like ready to leave their relationship but on Bannon's turn he sees a clip of Shantae completely behaving the show had nothing not even out of context to make her look bad to Briana and I'm thinking as I'm watching that "Oh that's great he's in the clear nothing to worry about." But he's like "This is terrible i'm glad he didn't touch her ass." But I kind of wanted to see that it's Bon and then Shantae's attached at the hip at all times and she doesn't have her own personality why won't she let loose and let that guy touch her a little bit sometimes i think she doesn't have a personality i was shell shocked she didn't give into temptation and he's like "What's wrong with this girl?" Here's where things really start to get wild so one of their issues early on because this changes but one of the issues early on is Bion is smooshally adventurous and Shantae is a little bit more traditional bion thinks he might even be polygamous so he's wondering if they have the the smoosh compatibility he does a diary room at one point where he talks about he's got two different sets of girls that he wants to do a a three smoosh with do any of these fine ass girls in this house fit my threes some fantasy yeah amaya Court Angel yeah those are probably my two sets right i think that's two yamsters at first I was kind of like "Oh that's that's a little gross." I don't know something about it feels demeaning but I think that's more me than how other people perceive it it's just like you're treating them as bodies for like a physical thing but there's nothing going to be be beyond that you know what I mean but I guess I always pair smoosh with intimacy and I think some people just view it as an activity so maybe I'm just projecting judgment on them i don't know i don't know how I feel about that entirely yet two of the girls know that he wants to do this so they go to his room into his bathroom and uh Brienne goes to the bathroom door with him and then he stares off at the camera at us for like 15 to 20 seconds just staring and it's like in black and white it's like the night vision and it feels so ominous and creepy and then he goes in and he closes the door now this was the night that the temptation tent was introduced someone else entered the tent i think it was Tyler and Kay he was the first person to enter the tent they just kissed so they say but that set the lights off at the girl's house and Shante started crying can't let him i can't do this she said "I I love him so much i can't It can't be him." And it wasn't him cuz he was too busy in the bathroom smooshing two girls at once he's too busy to be in the backyard in the tent does that make you feel better Shante it wasn't him don't worry their three smoosh literally lasts all night to the point where he comes out of the bathroom and he's like "Oh my god is it morning?" The burners are turning which is a that's a crazy thing to say is that the sunrise crazy no no I take that back i don't want to call it crazy just yet because we are just starting this journey you would think that this is the climax well no hold on let me actually not use the word climax after they were just cuz we heard the sounds like the show played some of the sounds they tried to muffle it under under some soft you know so it's not as you know dirty and gross but we heard the noises we know what they did in there what I was saying is usually this is the bomb but no this is just the lit fuse next morning does he have any remorse not an ounce of it he's the anti-grant grant feels so bad he's got to play guitar on the hammock bion he goes to the diary room and is like "Hey I don't regret this even one bit." No I didn't think I'd wake up with any regret or anything and I don't i think women respect honesty and being true to yourself ladies that is what you don't understand about being with a man it would be disrespectful to not engage in the three smoosh okay so you want me to reject my desires you want me You want to date a liar that's what you want you want to date somebody who's not true to himself cool the next day he has to choose somebody to go on a date with and I'm thinking "Okay so we got the uh the two girls he just three smooshed with he's going to choose one of them." So eeny meeny miny uh yeah how about that girl over there her name is Angel fun a religious titan speaking of religious while they're on their date uh and by date I mean they go secluded and he oils her up and massages her it's a weird weird date but anyways she she asked what his deal breakers are and he said that he's only looking for a good Christian woman and Angel is like "Didn't you just smoosh with two other girls the night before cheating on your girlfriend?" So when was your last threesome huh when was your last threesome she kills the mood entirely which good for her i The fact that she even endured that if somebody asked me on a date and I know those hands just touched so much other stuff last night I would be like "Hey I don't maybe not." Maybe like an air massage next bonfire it's his turn let's see what Shantae's been saying about him maybe she's engaging in something inappropriate let's get some get back the clip plays rion you ready yeah let's do it what she's stressing about me oh no and I genuinely don't think you would do that to me a twist to show this show i can't believe they did that that was the first clip all the other clips are always impropriety it's always somebody saying something wrong or doing something wrong they're trying to evoke guilt out of Bon she was crying at the thought of him getting intimate with another woman don't worry Shante he did not get intimate with another woman he got intimate with two the burners are turning as for Shantae she's about to find out about the three smoosh she didn't know about it previously we're at that bonfire how Mark does a good job as the host of not giving away any clues as to what's going to be in the clips even if it's going to be something bad he's just like "Hey let's fire it up let's see what we got." But this is the one and only time where before the clip plays he's like "Hey just letting you know before this before we see what happens we're all going to be okay we're going to get through this together." All right now let's play this horrible clip whatever it is we can handle together let's go for those that don't know uh a clip went viral on Twitter a couple months ago of Mononttoya it's kind of renewed interest in uh Temptation Island the Spanish version of the show there was a clip uh of a guy who was watching his girlfriend at a bonfire yet her cheeks clapped now I despise that phrase cheeks clapped i don't know something about it I don't like but I have to describe this situation as such because that is exactly what happened the sounds we hear during that bonfire clip the sounds that they aired on television were shocking there's no other way to describe what was happening other than cheeks clapping mononttoya crashes out fully he takes off down the beach running through wet sand all the way to their house which again they're supposed to be separated they're not allowed to see each other he starts shouting out in their backyard he's like being wrangled up she hears him mid smoosh and like runs out to him it's a crazy situation i think that they wanted their Mononttoya moment they wanted to show that to Shantae and for her to flip they want a big drama crazy but then when Mark asks Shantae "How do you feel what are your thoughts?" She is so reserved i don't know really what I even want to say Mark to say that he doesn't have any regret is sad and Mark is like "Well uh that that that's it you don't No not even a tear can you squeeze one out quick please i want to check in with your heart not your head right now i'm sure the producers are on the back like "Come on you got to be kidding me." Meanwhile Bion after their bonfire after seeing Shantae saying "I really hope he doesn't cheat on me i love him so so much it can't be him." She's crying over the thought he knows she's going to see that and he still says "I know she's going to take me back." My opinion I don't need to make a case to her i feel like I can go up there and apologize she's probably still going to stay you know I was sick because we're cutting to Shantae and she's very obviously going to consider getting back with him she's like I need to hear him out i'm hoping that when we get a chance to speak again there will bring more clarity to both of us oh god when I wrote my shorthand notes down I predicted that they would get back together because something crazy happens brian is so sure about himself when he says that she's going to forgive him he started playing the trick on me i This is a psychological trick he was so confident about like she'll take me back it wasn't that bad um in fact I enjoyed it there was nothing wrong with it at all he said it so many times and so confidently I was like "Oh yeah." Yeah oh yeah no it wasn't so bad think she's going to forgive you yeah that's very confident why not but I said the question is "Why wouldn't you think it'll better our relationship at the end of the day i'm glad it happened enjoyed every second of it." But luckily I got past that pretty quick because I I started to see his logic and I I don't agree with it but this is what he's thinking he's thinking "Well it wasn't a one-on-one intimate smoosh it was just a physical activity he's not emotionally bonding with these women it's just it's all purely physical pleasure that's it we're on a TV show that's covering this exact topic it doesn't mean anything i'm never going to see them again in my life don't worry about it." There is a huge twist coming up in that relationship however I want to now bring in Amaya she's the next piece of this amaya when she first does her introductions she's like "Hey I'm a relationship girl." which I thought was weird because it's like you're coming here as the tempter i thought we'd want like people who are more promiscuous people who would want to you know sleep around cheat cause drama but she's like "No I I just I'm a relationship girl girls." And I was like "Okay." It did make sense in the end because you don't want 12 of the same type of person you want a different variety of personalities so that um maybe a guy uh is like "Oh yeah I'm not going to cheat amaya would be a good person to talk to." And then they get closer and emotionally bond and then it's like "Oh shit." Then there there's a different type of cheating amaya and Bon are very flirtatious however even Amaya says at one point like nothing's ever going to happen i think for us though it's just fun and flirty but that's about it and you might be thinking like "Oh she's just saying that." But I I truly believe that she wouldn't cheat with Brian and I need you to believe that as well because of what's about to happen amaya comes into his room because they're going to journal together that was a big thing because they don't have their phones they need some sort of stimulus so they're uh they're all journaling a lot of the the season most of the um the contestants but this night Brienne wants to write a letter because he has the 30 secondond video coming up and Amaya's like "Oh yeah great let's do that." And uh this is where Bion drops the information that he had a threes smoosh and Amaya is like "That's a funny joke." Although I heard a threesome you're kidding right no I swear I did here in the shower and Brianna's like "Uh no that's not a joke don't go into the bathroom i haven't cleaned yet." And I think the fun part about this even though it's like you know night vision black and white uh we can kind of start feeling Amaya's unease because she now realizes the position she's in she is sitting on his bed in not a ton of clothing he's under the covers who knows what he's got on they are alone in private and now she's finding out that he's out here banging a number of the other roommates so she's like "Oh wait a second i don't I don't I don't think I should be here." Okay I hear you but I feel like maybe we should have this conversation in a different setting bion is going a different route he's thinking "I need I need a friend to bounce things off of because I need to figure out what to say to Shantae." And he starts talking to Amaya about uh well actually I think I was using the three smoosh to kind of fill a void nope i'm just using it as an excuse because I don't want to take blame myself he's been using this uh I like I wanted to explore as an excuse to be a bad boyfriend that was like his defense mechanism i genuinely think that there there's like there's no romantic or smooshable tension in the air at all but still Amaya she's growing uncomfortable don't blame her at all but there was a point where Bion kind of leans in to I guess ramp up into more of his thoughts and uh start talking about uh like like his feelings and stuff and Amaya is immediately taken aback and she's like "Let's talk maybe another day in a different setting." and he's like "Why no let's talk about this." Now you can't be like "I'm here." and then not let people just talk to you right so she's feeling uncomfortable because of the setting and the information she just found out and he is feeling like uh he's trying to open up to her and she's rejecting him that's how that's how he's thinking of it and feeling and the fun part about this is I I I genuinely believe both people are they're being both really genuine in this moment because Brienne you could see in the past couple days his demeanor and his energy is changing as he's kind of reflecting and thinking about his life and the walls he's put up amaya though uncomfortable she leaves as she's leaving Bion says like "You're [ __ ] weird." Something like that and she's like "Excuse me sorry that people are weird whatever Bon." And it's just like really awkward a lot of tension and that's the end of their night but we have another MOI so remember when uh they had to kick out two people at the start uh later in the season they have to eliminate some more people but it's now framed as we're not kicking people out we're choosing who to keep tell us who the first person is you'd like to keep here in the house which is the same thing so all members of the core 4 have to choose two people to keep bion's first pick Angel both of his three smoosh partners were available but you know uh the girl he took on a date who wasn't interested in him yeah pick her his second pick he introduces her as his arch nemesis Amaya looking back now I I realize why he made the decision to not pick either of the three smoosh partners while I was watching it I was flabbergasted and I was like "Oh god if I was one of those two girls I would feel so disrespected." Like maybe it was just like fun pleasure but I engaged in that with you and you're not even going to keep me in the house i have to leave now so the guy I gave it up to is choosing two different women over me that he has a somewhat contentious relationship with i I'm not even above them i would feel like the biggest idiot he was only interested in your bodies not you as an individual that's harsh i really thought that me and Bon had something going it's clear now that I guess we didn't i should say though uh Alex does get picked by Grant grant has Natalie i don't know why he picked Alex to stay i don't know if it was knowing that she uh was sleeping with the contestants so he's like maybe I'll keep her in the house but something develops there maybe he wanted to keep her there because uh she was just drama she was going to cause drama with other people maybe he kept her there because they were friends or something they they got along i don't know we don't know but she gets to stay and then this is where Lo continues to pursue Alex after the three smoosh after being rejected by Bion he then picks her to go on a date with and I'm like "Oh god where is the self-respect my guy?" Not only did she not choose you and and she's showing you that she's really not interested in you but she's also smooshing other people in the same house one of your other roommates and you're still going to purs if we do look at who the two women Bon picked though it was Angel who he had the contentious date with and Amaya who he had the contentious talk with i thought part of it was like he likes a challenge he doesn't like when things are easy but we're going to go back to Shantae for a bit i do feel like I'm focusing more on the guys in the this this season but that's because the the guys are doing all the [ __ ] up which is funny but Shantae has to deal with the fallout of Bon's actions everybody is giving her advice you can't be with him the fact that he's going to openly disrespect you like you just you just can't stay with someone like that and every time she hears that she listens and she says "Yeah no that's it is horrible you're right i guess I'm just going to have to wait to hear him out." It's like oh goodness to me what he did is is worse than just cheating i understand how he's thinking of the logic element of it where it's like well there's no feelings involved it wasn't one-on-one there was no intimacy it's just the show i'm never going to see them again but what he didn't consider is her feelings at all how she would feel watching that and knowing that her family and friends back home are going to be watching as well so if she gets back together with him not only I guess her friends and family which are the most important but all of America are going to watch as this guy treats her like this are you going to tell me that you're never going to do something like this again that's a that's a hard sell and it just sends the message "Hey I can treat Shantae bad and she's still going to get over it and forgive me." You know that's not the message you want to send and then to hear Bon saying "Oh yeah I enjoyed it that's all that matters so who cares i don't regret it last night was a good night but now I didn't think I'd wake up with any regret or anything." And I don't it's like "Oh god dude." Cut to the last bonfire before the final bonfire what further degeneracy are you going to show us Dylan what more is there no boom twist brian starts opening up about his life the reflecting he was doing were coming to a head on that i was taken out of my home at 2 years old abused in the foster system you know that all shapes you at the end of the day parents were addicts his grandparents couldn't raise him he bounced around through foster homes which uh apparently there was some abuse in the foster system which is crazy cuz I only hear the best things about the foster care system odd at the age of 17 he moves out and essentially from that point forward he's only he's the only person who's ever looking out for him you've had people leave you disappoint you how would you know how to respect if no one has told you that you matter and you're safe because the only person you can count on is who it's myself and how do you have a relationship if that's the only way you know how to be can't and it's a great deal of self-reflection because he was saying like "Yeah I thought the the three smoosh was going to fill the void but I actually don't want three smooshes i don't want to be more adventurous." What I wanted was uh like an excuse to escape like intimacy because I'm afraid that the intimacy is uh I don't know it's it's going to be it's too real and I I've never had that uh like seen a positive example for it i'm not going to get too attached so that when it eventually breaks apart and ends up terribly like it's always been for me then I'm going to um that's not going to hurt as much even the the host is shocked cuz he's Bon's like "Yeah I I'm the problem in the relationship i I started the show talking about all the things she's not doing but it's me i'm the problem." And then Mark drops some great wisdom as well she doesn't feel safe to let that emotion show in front of you i'm gonna suggest there's a part of you that you just showed me that she hasn't seen either and I think I do a a decent job of parsing this out there are some people who do those kinds of reveals to elicit a certain response they know that by telling you these these emotional things they're going to invoke an emotional response that's not what's happening here i think genuinely Bon is having a moment where he's looking at his life looking at his past and uh coming to terms with the the ways that he's got here and the way that he wants to move forward fascinating character journey that's what makes the final decision so freaking fascinating because he obviously wants to get back together with Shantae i don't know what to tell her to do like I I personally if I was in that situation I don't know what I would say laying out the facts what he did was awful most people would say it's unforgivable usually people don't change overnight or over the course of a couple weeks it takes years of reflection but Brienne kind of like did it he like speedrunned it and I think he did it genuinely i think she went into that final bonfire she wants to go home alone she doesn't want to tolerate his actions she doesn't like what it says but now it's like she's seeing all the reflection that he needed to do if he didn't have the three smoosh and came to this conclusion she would be head over heels she would want to get married this moment so it's kind of like this weird mix of like you did this unforgivable thing but then you became like the perfect guy i don't I don't know at one point she just gets up and walks off to to go talk to a producer like I don't I don't know what to do i don't know how to give an answer right now you okay it's just like you know what you wouldn't expect Temptation Island to have that sort of character journey and that sort of choice like that's it's like the perfect split down the middle what do you do i actually would love to hear what you guys say about that would you get back together with somebody that cheated on you but then reflected over the course of like two weeks and you felt like that it was a genuine reflection and they've changed would you get back together what does Shantae decide to do she decides to leave with him oh goodness brazantly having a three smoosh not regretting it her seeing it him seeing her break down over it reflecting on it not finding satisfaction in the three smoosh that he thought he was going to have there's still a hole inside of him he finds out what that hole is vowing to make it up to her leaving together what a what a Oh my god now let us find out where the couples are today alexa and Lo are engaged still they are planning their wedding he describes their relationship as indestructible that's the the sense I got as well watching Shante and Brian still together i don't know how long it's been since uh they answer these questions as sad as it is and as annoying as it is I don't know that we would have ever had those conversations if that didn't happen she adds talking about the three smoosh and I think Brian said this when they were shooting is like if I didn't do that I wouldn't know that it wasn't a problem like I wouldn't have I wouldn't have gotten here if I didn't do that jesus Christ oh that just adds to the craziness they're in therapy they're talking about moving in together they have mentor like relationship mentors as well like I'm I'm I'm hoping the best for them i'm going to be honest tyler is in a relationship not with Taylor or with Kay he left with Kay but turns out in their final date they talked about how their lives don't really line up and they're not going to be together which I guess it doesn't matter if you leave together or not it's nice little button for your journey and made it seem more legitimate than it was but uh apparently they didn't talk as soon as they left the island like they didn't talk like it was over over and she even goes on to say like uh I think we would have just been friends if it wasn't for the show which lines up with what I was saying about the tempter the role that you play you're you act more interested in somebody because that's the the game that's the show but this is where it gets crazy tyler says the two him and Taylor his original partner that he came to the show with discussed the possible reconciliation but he knew he was not in a place to do that two months later after hearing that he had started dating someone else Tyler claims Taylor reached out to ask why he wouldn't give their relationship another chance i I said before "You lost out you're lost." Like I that just didn't feel genuine oh god uh I don't want to be on her because uh she's got she's she's working through some stuff the way she's talking is awful like she's excusing "Oh I said some bad stuff about him well what did you want me to lie that everything was hunky dory?" It's like no not people were just asking you to not be rude you know when Tyler finally got together with his now girlfriend it was the straw that broke the camel's back she says "So I blocked him and never looked back and we have not spoken since." That's her like trying to feel empowered like I blocked his ass so she's trying to frame it like "Haha I got the last laugh." It's just like not in a negative way it's just like I'm seeing it i'm seeing it for what it really is and it's like it's just kind of sad once she finally set a firm boundary Taylor spent the next 6 months showing up for herself and not dating so are you single or are you dating i'm I'm showing up for myself it's all right it's that empowering language i just I don't vibe with some of that stuff man it's the same with the platitude stuff it's just like I don't know it feels a lot of it feels hollow to me ashley is single oh guys guys get ready for [ __ ] this we got back together for a little bit ashley tells to Doom about Grant that was a a show oh really that ended badly that's so weird i ran into him at the bar literally next to my house it was just downhill from there apparently he was going around trying to accidentally run into her after leaving the island alone Grant began exclusively dating Natalie but he still chose to pursue Ashley and they went on to date for 2 months he cheated on Natalie with me ashley admits he just burns everybody screw this guy but at the same time I don't know i don't want to blame the women actually well no I can blame Natalie a little bit because this was who he was this is what who he was presented to be but then also Ashley at at her final bonfire said "You're a serial cheater you're gross i don't want to be around you." And then she gets back together with him again it's the familiar thing grant is single i left the island alone and I'm alone that's a way to bridge the gap over the relationship of Ashley he didn't want to talk about that I feel like so what's happened since the show well I left the island alone and I'm alone now if you didn't know anything else in your mind if you heard that you would be like there was nothing eventful that happened between because you were alone and you're alone so I'm single working on myself working on What did Natalie have to say so Grant chased her down at the airport and made it a whole extravagant thing which I'm sure you can picture from Grant and was like "I want to dive into this with you let's be exclusive." He ended up getting back together with Ashley which I was honestly kind of expecting just because he is so back at Forth i'm very straightforward if you're going to do something disrespectful to me in any way I'll just never speak to you again and she didn't I guess good for you that was Temptation Island this is going to be a long video there i this I enjoyed this so thoroughly i think the only part of the show I didn't enjoy was like the final dates i think I only enjoyed the final dates when it comes to couples who are not sure if they're going to be together or not but when they're just going on final dates being like "We're going to be together it's going to be great." I'm just like "Okay I'm bored." The final bonfire was fantastic had a great time i hope you guys enjoyed when season 2 rolls around if it rolls around it better and actually that's probably part of the good thing with Lo and Alexa getting engaged i think if uh a bunch of couples that might have applied for the show see that all the couples that came just you know broke up and no one's together anymore they'd be more hesitant to to sign up for the show but watching a couple get through it and uh get engaged I think more couples will be more willing to participate later on thank god for Alexa and Lo man and I hope you enjoyed this journey as well boogies uh I w I watched Love is Blind season 8 i was going to make a video on that but I couldn't even finish a season it was so freaking boring even like the the villain characters or the characters that they were trying to make villains they all had like justifications and stuff and it was like okay that that's not fun at all normally I end these videos by saying uh I've washed myself clean all the the horribleness that I feel after finishing a show but uh I think at the end of this one I want to say you're welcome all right buggies i'll see you guys next time bye
