the Stanton system well it's no longer the only place you can visit it's where most of us began our journey in Star Citizen and today it's where you'll begin yours I'm morphologists and in this comprehensive new player guide I'm going to be taking you step by step through how to survive your first few hours because the universe isn't always the friendliest of places by the end you'll have a good handle on the Bas have an upgraded kit and will be well on your way to purchasing your first in-game ship throughout the guide I'll be assuming that you've got a good handle on the basics of PC gaming skipping over things like how to WD move but I'll still stop to let you know what I think is the best course of action and give you some useful tips and tricks for how to make your journey just a little bit easier and hopefully a lot more fun and when you're through don't forget that I already have a huge library of guides here on my channel on different ships and systems so make sure you hit that like and subscribe button if you think I deserve it by the end so Suit Up pilot and don't forget your helmet out the door not everywhere's got oxygen and Star Citizen before you can even step foot in the universe the first thing you'll have to decide is what your starter ship will be and if you're at this point and you've not made an RSI account yet make sure you use somebody's referral code while making your account as it's important to get that extra 5,000 UEC when getting started feel free to use my code here on the the screen or use any one in the description of the video or any of my community members down below or even a friends if you've got one when you visit the RSI website you'll want to make sure you're looking for a starter package as the website offers ships without downloadable versions of the game if you're visiting for the first time you can find the packages by clicking on the play button on the Upp right hand corner of the screen though this might change by the time you see this video now depending on the sale that's being offered you'll have different priced options but roughly it starts at around 40 to 45 bucks you might see an aurora or maybe even a Mustang Alpha but the thing is that over the past 3 years there's a lot that's changed and these base starter packages are no longer something that I would recommend you get as it's not going to give you a very optimal experience and this could really make or break your first impression with the game instead then I recommend a few options first is the Drake cutter which starts at 60 bucks when not on sale and it's a really well-designed little ship with a lot of character the only downside to it is that doesn't really do much damage so if you wanted to do any space combat this probably isn't the best choice for you the next is the Intrepid from Crusader starting at 85 bucks when not on sale which probably has the best interior of any of the ships with not so bad damage with its single size 4 fixed weapon but its weak Shields will make it an easy target for NPCs and players alike that's why my number one option continues to be the ages Avenger Titan which starts at 75 bucks when not on sale well it might be a little bit older than these other two options without that many quality of life features it more than makes up for it with two big strengths it's 8su internal cargo bay which can also hold a vehicle and its monstrous stock combat load out which will have you dealing out damage like no other starter ship it's also pretty quick in atmosphere but one last thing here before you choose a package keep in mind that Star Citizen ship cost doesn't directly equate to power and Advantage often more expensive ships are specialized into specific tasks lacking some other key features or requiring crew in order to operate them often it comes down to your own personal skill for how you're able to survive a situation I've seen Pilots take out experienced fighter pilots in fighter ships in a starter ship it just comes down to you so after we get past the base tutorial I'll be using the agis Avenger Titan but if you've got a different ship Choice don't worry you can still follow along all right then I bet you're itching to actually get started here so after you launch the game for the first time you'll be Pres presented with a couple of options for your first session the persistent universe or the Pu for short as we call it this is the MMO RPG part of the game and the other is a bit more out of scope for this video it's called Arena Commander it lets you load up slices of the universe to practice on various facets of it without the penalty of dying which is kind of a big deal in Star Citizen and will be a bigger deal going forward we're going to select the persistent Universe for our for session which will prompt you to create your character if you've already created a character you can simply skip this part of course but take take as much time as you like and then craft what you want because you can actually save it at the end using a new save selection option that you can then reopen and apply for a future patch when it gets reset after confirming you'll be prompted with a tutorial message confirm that you want this tutorial however if these options are not presented to you it might be that you've already tried starting Star Citizen but don't worry you can still again follow along with the guide so that you can learn all the basics but now you might be wondering wait why do I need you if there's an in-game guide well unfortunately it's pretty incomplete and outdated in a lot of areas the Star Citizen tutorial though still offers some good benefits like in-game UI markers to help out hockey tips a free set of armor and 45k a the starting currency in Star Citizen on completion of the mission set this guide then scaffolds the in-game guide to fill out the missing pieces and adds a lot of useful information so we'll be following along with some slight detours and an extension at the end which will include going to the new star system of pyro so don't worry we'll get to it but first things first that place is dangerous you got a lot to learn so then as we get started I encourage you to keep this up on your second monitor a phone or tablet so that you can follow along with it as we go all right now that you're through with making your character and you've selected the starter guide It's Time to choose which location you're going to start in at the time of making this video the game currently has two different star systems to choose from but you probably are only able to choose Stanton right now and there there are four main cities to choose from Star citizens Cloud City orison located in the atmosphere of a gas giant the Blade Runner esque city of lorville located on huren Star citizens corusant Area 18 located on AR Corp in the place I'm going to recommend you start because it has the best array of starting amenities new babage located on the outermost reaches of the Stanton system on the Boreal planet of microt now if he accidentally started in pyro somehow oh oh boy uh you might want to find a friend cuz even going into the wrong part of the space station you're in will probably get you killed so I'm just going to assume you didn't do that and that you've chosen new babage once you've selected it from the dropdown menu go ahead and start the game just about now you should be waking up high in your Hab in the Aspire Grand at the heart of new babage get out of bed by hitting y on your keyboard or pressing W like you're moving forward after you get up feel free to stretch your legs move around and get a feel for the controls maybe take a look out the window of your cubby and see what the city looks like hey if you're lucky the sun's out and it looks beautiful when you're ready then let's take a look at your Mobi Glass by hitting F1 in your keyboard This is star Citizen's futuristic take on a personal device and your window out on to the larger universe you'll be using it constantly every session you play the game so let's get a little bit used to what it has in store for us this is the home screen of your Mobi glass at the bottom you'll see an array of apps next to your wallet and your name don't worry I know that number is small we'll fix it soon here you can see see basic information like notifications recent missions you've taken the crime stat you might have if you've done anything bad yes there's crime stats in this game and even jail if you do something bad and get caught a remote view for your ship to see its ammunition and fuel reserves a place to see the atmospheric conditions outside your character presently so you know whether or not it's safe to take your helmet off your current health conditions for your character and some other good useful information now let's click on the next app the next one's Health this shows you your health condition in more detail next are comms this is where you can find global chat and see who's on the server find friends invite them to your party or leave or join the local VoIP chat that's right it's got Voiceover IP so you can chat with people that you see randomly around the world next our contracts you should see the starter guide here if you're following along with it otherwise you'll see an array of other options and then you've got the map system this is a 3D representation of your immediate area if you hold left click you can rotate the camera around you can zoom in by using the scroll wheel on your mouse button and you can Pan the camera right to left by holding the right Mouse button if you zoom too far out or you lose your character you can always hit two to get back to where you were you can also hit Z to make the view just a little bit more clear it does a cross-section of your floor if you zoom all the way out you'll see a planetary view with a bunch of different outposts and their descriptions letting you know whether or not it's a private or public place to visit and if it has amenities that you're looking for if you zoom out further you'll be able to see the local system map with all of microtex moons further out you'll be able to see the entire system and then if you zoom Zoom even further out you can see both the Stanton system as well as the Pyro system you also have a search option in the upper left hand corner to help you find places just a bit quicker we'll use that a little bit later next is the journal that shows you a bit of useful information then are your assets which just shows you where your assets are located around the universe and then you've got your reputation tab this is an incredibly important place to keep checking in on as it shows your Affinity towards different factions this determines whether or not they're hostile to you or if they offer contracts to you and in pyro it determines whether or not you can visit certain locations and use their shops and refueling Services kind of a big deal then you've got the wallet app which allows you to send money to friends and party members The Landing app which allows you to repair arm or refuel your ship while you're on a pad and a station and then you got the vehicle Loadout manager this is where you're able to swap out kit on your ship like components or weapons but right now let's not worry about that we need to get you some money so you can actually upgrade your ship all right now let's talk about star Citizen's light survival mechanics in the game you need to occasionally drink or eat otherwise you get nasty effects and eventually die to interact with the bottle hold f for looking at it and then hold left click to drink it continue holding it to drink the entire thing or you can stop halfway and save it by right clicking it to put it in your pocket after that just grab the breakfast burrito and have yourself a bite to eat and then you should be full up on calories for the day all right the next thing we're going to want is our helmet because not everywhere is going to have oxygen step up to the box in the corner of the room and hold down the F key this time this will bring up an interaction wheel where you're going to want to select the equip option this wheel will give you multiple options for how to interact with an object other than just picking it up so it's good to know how to use this alternatively if you've already picked it up and you've got it in your hands you can just left click and it should put it right on your head now on the way out hold down F to interact with the door just press F when the prompt comes up as you make your way out into the hall and towards the elevator you can try using the scroll wheel to change your walking speed or to jog you can also hold shift to Sprint you should also be able to see a waypoint marker in the mini map in the upper leftand corner of your HUD once you've arrived use f again to click on the button to open the elevator once you step in hold F once more and select the lobby on the bottom next the built-in tutorial is going to take us over to the map located on the wall well it's not that useful anymore since we have a mini map it's a great way to get used to using environmental Clues to navigate Star Citizen as doesn't tend to hold your hand on this now we're going to want to get ourselves the basics for our first outing we're going to head on over to the celto shop in the corner of the lobby here is a great place to get some basic necessities on your way out to do daily activities shops and Star Citizen are interactive and you'll be able to buy things directly off the shelf by looking at them and holding F however you can also choose to buy things from the terminal if you know what you're looking for cuz it makes it just a little bit quicker I'll show you both following the guide step up to the kiosk and press F to activate the interaction here you should see in the UPR hand corner your name along with the amount of money you have if you've been following the guide you should have at least received 15K ueec by this point but if you have less it's okay we're going to be conservative with what we buy here because you're going to need this money for later in the upper leftand corner are some drop downs to tell it where to send items that you buy or what you want to filter for and then on the right hand side you've got a search option let's use that search option to find a backpack an absolute must for going out on every outing so we have a place to put our loot if you don't have a chest piece though because you didn't follow the tutorial you'll have to purchase a chest piece as well once you've buy it it'll be in your local inventory there should only be one option the Mac Flex Ru sack after that let's find the lh86 pistol purchase that into your local inventory and then purchase three magazines by Heading by and selecting the amount three take a moment to browse what other items they have but don't worry we're going to be heading up to the space station later in this tutorial where you'll be able to buy a lot more stuff than is available here now let's step up to the med pens and purchase a couple of those some items can be clicked to pick up in your hands and then right click to put directly on your character alternatively what you can do is you can hold after to purchase it into your local inventory I'll explain what all of this means in a moment don't worry I know it's a little confusing after that let's go ahead and grab that multi-tool and the tractor beam attachment if you can't purchase it off the shelf head on over to the terminal and search tractor and get the tractor beam attachment this is yet another another tool that you should have on every single outing you play in Star Citizen as it can be used in a variety of gameplay Loops finally we're going to get a little bit of food to go for later head on over to the food cooler and locate the cruise the purple bottles in the lower hand corner Cruise energy shakes are a great combination of hydration and food that you can easily put into your backpack and are pretty cheap so I use these as a go-to option whenever I'm heading out into the world but you can get whatever you like just these ones are my preference that stuff we just purchased went into our local inventory now in Star Citizen you've got two inventory types your personal inventory which is connected to how much space you have within the equipment you're wearing and the local inventory of a location which is specific to that location and can't be accessed outside of it now for your reference your personal inventory is much more limited in size and is determined by what you're wearing right now you're wearing light armor so it's pretty limited but as you upgrade through Star Citizen you can get medium or heavy armor and even bigger backpacks to have more cargo space on your person to carry Loot and other items to equip to your character like additional magazines and additional weapons so we're going to go access that local inventory I just mentioned from a local inventory kiosk located just next to the kelto after stepping up to the kiosk to use it you should be presented with a paper doll menu with basically your character in the center the local inventory on the right and your personal inventory related to your armor on the left so to equip the items you can simply drag and and drop them onto your character right click them and select equip or just doubleclick them you're going to want to do this for each item that we purchased including the med pens but keep in mind that the attachment to your multi-tool can only be equipped to the gun after you've equipped the multi-tool to your character so make doubly sure that you're not leaving that tractor beam attachment behind and now it's time to move on to the next little augmented section of this tutorial we're going to talk a little bit about injuries and Revival now just across from where you are right now you should see the brentworth Hospital there are hospitals located in each of the major cities and Clinics located on each of the major stations these are places where you can go to set your respawn or cure major injuries from tier three to Tier 1 with tier one being the most severe now there are ships in the game right now with Med beds on them that you can cure these injuries with but they only currently go up to tier 2 so if you have a tier one injury the most severe again you'll have to go to a hospital or a clinic at a station or city you can also purchase the specialized Med gun here which can temporarily heal certain afflictions like broken arms or legs well you get to the hospital but we're not going to worry about that for now because it's kind of expensive and a bit more complex and we'll revisit a bit of this later in the tutorial now it's time for us to head on over to the Spaceport and eventually our hanger where your ship awaits to get there we're going to use star citizens transit system it's a type of thing that you'll find in every city in the game like you find in the real world it takes you to points of interest and is actually physicalized so you have to wait for the next train if you miss the first one don't worry they're pretty frequent head down to the platform go to the left side that's labeled Spaceport and wait for it to arrive once it does step on and off you go there's no cheating here you're on a physical thing that's moving you towards the physical Spaceport which is very far away from where you are right now it's pretty cool it's an immersive part of Star Citizen that I personally really like even if it takes a little bit more time to get here and there versus other games which just allow you to teleport everywhere [Music] once you arrive we're going to head on up to the elevators to take you to the terminal level or the nbis level if you see down the elevator label once you arrive you should be presented with a pretty epic view of the entirety of new babage across the frozen lake feel free to snap a few shots if you like it's it's part of the whole experience after you're satisfied and maybe you've explored a little bit if you like we're going to head on over to the automated ship organization program terminals or asop terminals for short where we're going to pull out our ship just follow the Waypoint markers to it where you're first going to deliver your ship to this location and then you're going to retrieve it so you have to click it twice once you've done that head on over to the elevator scroll down on the button panel until you see your name plus your hanger size don't worry if it's small eventually you'll get a bigger one once you upgrade your ship welcome to your personal hanger pilot this at your home location is a place that's going to save whatever you put out so if you set say some weapons or some furniture which you can buy buy at celto that we went to earlier or even a vehicle it's going to remember that you did that next time you log in so it's kind of like a player home for right now to that end you've got a number of amenities here like your own personal Kiosk for taking out inventory and an asop terminal for directly taking out or storing Vehicles without needing to return upstairs out inside the main hanger space you'll have some areas to store stuff on the side like extra vehicles and you'll see two different amenities the cargo lift which which is where you can store or take out larger items like ship components weapons cargo boxes and the medical area which is where you're going to drop off bodies to take them directly to the hospital to get themselves sorted hopefully you never have to use this in this tutorial all right now it's time for us to get on board the ship in the center of the room you should see a Pisces C8 from Anvil it's not the one that you bought it's just the tutorial ship that is given back to the game after you arrive at the space station where you'll get your real ship this ship like many in Star Citizen are packed with details which is why so many flight enthusiasts love the game so take some time to take the details if you like but your real ship awaits and that one's maybe even a little bit cooler so when you're ready step to the back of the ship and click on the button just adjacent to the drop down ramp that will open the door to allow you to enter now as we step on board I don't mean to scare you but I want to remind you of one thing from here on out you want to be really cautious because when you die in Star Citizen your physical item are dropped with your body unless you're in a safe Zone which automatically retrieves those items you'll have to physically go back and get it so again be real careful here no punching the throttle or buzzing the tower just yet all right let's take a step towards the flight deck and get in that flight seat after a little showy animation you should be in front of the flight controls now you got a couple ways to turn the ship on you can use alt R to turn it on or you can hold F and press a physical button most ships and Star Citizen have physical buttons to press to give a bit more of an immersive feel with the ship's power on now let's take a little bit of time to get through what the systems are on your ship so you know how to fly and navigate without crashing now on your HUD by default in the upper leftand corner you'll see your own ship's present status including weapons weapon group selection and shield status represented by a growing series of panels in the center top of the HUD you'll see a heading indicator relative to the planet poles below you'll see a horizon indicator as well as your inclination indicator showing your pitch up and down relative to the planet Horizon and then on the right you'll see your altitude below that and to the left of the display is your gear status VL status G saave status and just to the right of that is your current ship's operating mode which will be in default SCM mode which enables weapons and shields weapon selection a throttle indicator a velocity indicator as well as a g indicator in the center below the HUD is your ship's radar which displays other ships and nearby structures and then to the right of that is your After Burner indicator counter measure counts which has two options noise and decoy and three more indicators for coupled mode ESP and lock I know this is a lot to take in but you'll learn what all these mean over time I'm just giving you a brief overview next let's take a look at our mfds or multi-function displays by default you'll see from left to right your own ship status like shown on your HUD in the upper left hand and then your ship power settings Target ship status and then your scanner on the far right now I'm going to teach you about two important ones here the first being power settings which you're going to use a lot when you fly Star Citizen allows you to allocate a fixed amount of points is determined by your ship's component grade and quality to different ship systems not every system can be powered simultaneously so you'll have to decide what's best for you given the situation power settings will be changed depending on operator mode as well so you'll have to reset them each time you change modes for now you're not going to be dealing with any combat plus the tutorial ship doesn't have any weapons to prevent you from accidentally shooting anyone so for now we're just going to keep the engines and shields powered and everything else left to default now let's take a look at that far right panel to swap between his again click the arrows on the bottom find the configuration MFD here you'll see a list of toggle options that can also be triggered by Bindings that you can find in the menus of the game since you're new it's a pretty useful feature until you're familiar with each shortcut now let's click on the tab at the top that says HUD here you'll see a list of controls for what you can see on your HUD you can choose to toggle off your helmet display which I don't recommend or change to the advanced HUD mode which changes the way that your HUD looks to be a little bit more clear for people who just want to see all the instruments right in their their face let's leave it default for now it's just a little bit more pretty but it's up to you all right I know you're itching to fly so let's get ready to take off just one more thing to do here with the mfds click on the lower arrows again and find the ATC permission to depart just click on the communication button and it should start opening the doors for you alternatively you can also hit altn to do it without going into the mfds all right let's get familiar with the flight controls assuming that you're using a mouse and keyboard gently press the space bar to lift off the ground once off the ground gently tap the W key to move forward to get clear of the doors before we start playing with any other controls you may need to use your mouse to adjust your pitch or yaw as you fly through the doors once you're fully clear let's try out a few other controls you can use q& e to roll the ship and you can use control to make the ship go downward but right now your landing gear is still deployed which limits your speed to around 30 m a second Hit N to retract them to move bit faster just be ready for how much faster you will go if you want to fly a little bit faster you can hold shift to run the afterburners for a limited amount of time and as you go you may notice that there's a beautiful view if you're in daytime it's pretty cool those clouds actually move now as you fly look for the icon near the center of your HUD that looks like a circle with three lines protruding this little guy is a very useful tool it's called the velocity Vector indicator and it tells you where your ship is actually going based on your inputs the fly model in the game as you may already know has six degrees of freedom which means that you could be moving in any direction and it's not necessarily where you're pointing your ship and as part of that system each RCS and Main Thruster is physicalized and has its own HP pool they can be damaged in combat or damaged from overuse by repeatedly overheating them in After Burner so be very careful not to overtax your ship or you may lose control as you're flying all right let's bring up the speed a little bit by switching modes in Star Citizen you've got sem mode and nav mode sem mode is for your weapons and shields like I said before a nav basically allows you to use your Quantum Drive at the cost of not being able to use weapons Shields or countermeasures so hold B to activate the mode once you've done that you should fly quite a bit faster and make your way to the final checkpoint along the way if you want to soak in some of the SES you can pop in a third person by hitting F4 if you hold down Z you can even rotate the camera if you want to go back to default hit the star key on your number pad all right now it's time to learn a little bit about how to get to longer distances right now and Star Citizen you've got something called a Quantum Drive this is how you get from planetary body to planetary body or to space stations at Great distances in order to use it while you're in nav mode you just have to look at where you want to go with the icon and then wait for it to calibrate in spool once it's both calibrated and spooled you can left click to Quantum to a nearby location but it won't be right next to the station or planet that you're going to you'll still have to fly a little bit away to get to where you want to go now before you go anywhere let's pause for a second and talk a little bit about space combat you're not going to get into any right now don't worry unless someone starts shooting at you in that case it's better just to fly away as the tutorial ship doesn't have weapons we'll get a ship that has weapons soon Stars doesn't has a few weapon types but we're going to talk about just two for right now ballistic and energy energy based repeaters or cannons have a limited amount of shots as they deplete a ship's capacitors and after it's depleted they'll recharge over time as mentioned earlier putting energy into your weapons will give you a little bit more of a capacitor size in order to shoot a few more shots before it has to recharge ballistic weapons on the other hand aren't limited by power but are instead limited by cooling they'll eventually overheat after you hold down the trigger and unlike energy weapons have a fixed amount of ammo before they run out at which point you'll have to go to a station in order to resupply the benefit of ballistics is that they have a chance to penetrate Shields and will go through hull to disable systems and do a little bit more damage of course at that cost of having a limited time on target so it's best to use those sparingly when shields are close to going down most ships also have a supply of missiles which can be activated by hitting the middle Mouse button you'll have to have something targeted in order to shoot off a missile but right now don't Target anything because if you do well in missile mode regardless of whether or not you're going to shoot it it's an act of aggression and if you've targeted a player or a station you'll immediately be marked as hostile and be fired upon so don't do that please you won't last more than a few seconds in this tutorial ship all right now making sure that you're outside of missile operator mode Let's try targeting targeting ships can be done by hitting T and by default it's going to Target whatever directly in front of you but you do have other options if you look into the settings to Target things like ships nearby you friendly ships or targeting behind but this is more for advanced users so if you want to explore it and see what the bindings are for to set up some bindings feel free to do so but for now you just need to do T to untarget something hit Alt T targeting somebody will be affected by distance sometimes somebody's too far away in order for your sensors to pick them up you might be able to see them visually so you might have to hit the tab button to Ping to have them pop up to be targeted this will especially be the case for ships that have stealth components or are a stealth ship where you won't be able to Target them until you're almost on top of them now what targeting does is tell your ship's computer how to calculate where you should shoot your weapons in order to hit them while they're moving that firing solution is presented to you by circles which we call Pips by default they're lead Pips but you can change these settings later if you prefer you can do them in the settings MFD I showed you a little bit earlier now if you're being shot at and your Shields go down or you know that missiles are coming in at you by getting a missile alert you can deploy decoys by hitting H to throw out some distractions or temporarily disrupt enemy targeting by using your noise field with J but use the noise field sparingly because you don't have very many of them they're a last ditch effort to get out of a sticky situation but by the way you can also use the tab ping in order to see obstacles in the dark while you're flying on the dark side of a moon or planet and you can use defin minable materials or points of interest in the wild this brings me then to the death of your ship in Star Citizen you won't typically just explode after being neutralized instead you're going to enter a disabled State unless somebody death blows you we call it soft death hard death is well your ship isn't there anymore so you don't have to wonder if you're still afloat and your ship won't move with engineering mechanics there a chance that you'll be able to hand repair the affected modules to put your ship back into action but it's more than likely that you've just been permanently disabled and if you find yourself in this state it's best to eject or exit quickly as you may soon explode from a death blow or be boarded by other players so watch out for that as well I've bookmarked this section of the guide so feel free to revisit it once you're confident enough when flying to do some space combat for now let's get back on track with the in-game tutorial all right let's return to nav mode and aim for just to the side of the station like I said to be safe while you burn towards it when you draw near swap to SC mode by holding B once you have slowed down enough and you're nearby the station it's time to request landing permission once again from Port tresters ATC just like we did when we took off from new babage you should then get a notification that you've been assigned a hanger where you'll follow the HUD indicator on your screen to that location fly safely here and avoid the station if you can so that you don't hit any obstacles and have to start this whole Journey over one trick I like to use to fly slow and smoothly is to decouple decoupling basically makes it so the ship doesn't automatically slow down to zero relative to a nearby object or orbital body the decoupled toggle button is by default C on your keyboard M buttered that Landing after landing it's good practice then to turn off your engines to prevent your ship from expending any further fuel it also will prevent it from jumping up in the air if by chance the wind takes it up you can do this by pressing I which will keep your ship systems like Shields still online next exit the ship by holding y to exit your seat and return to the rear ramp sending it down using the button like I showed you before the layout of the hanger here will be roughly the same should be a side open hanger since you're in a small ship just head on over to the elevator get on over to the asop terminals in the lobby of the station here we're going to store our ship as the tutorial concludes and then we're going to check our journal to complete the full in-game tutorial congrats pilot but the journey isn't over just yet well the official tutorial has concluded mine's not done because we've got just a little bit more to cover and I got to get you to some places to have some more fun we should also have received around 45k UE for this total Mission giving you a nice little pool of cash to do with what you will but again use it sparingly cuz you might need it if you unfortunately kick the bucket which I mean as a new player it's going to happen just be ready for that all right in a moment we're going to go spend a little bit of the money that we've picked up from this Mission but first we're going to do something that you should should consider doing every time you land at a station and that's reset your medical clinic spawn location we're going to do that by heading on over to the clinic and going over to the Olympus Insurance terminals here is where we're going to be able to set our new spawn point as the station this location will also have other useful services like requesting a room to heal injuries as well as a pharmacy to pick up some extra medical equipment while you're in space next though we're going to check out some of the other services on stations which you'll typically find on every station around the verse including in pyro we're now going to look for the set of elevators which in the case support Trester is going to be just adjacent to the clinic there we're going to take a trip down to the cargo deck this is a low orbit station so it handles cargo transferring from the ground to space and that's why some of the missions you're going to get here is to do just that to bring cargo to the station at this location you can buy things useful for hauling cargo like buying some extra cargo boxes that you can store more items in in your inventory or you can buy extra multi-tools or an even bigger dedicated heavy duty tractor beam for moving boxes that are a little heavier and to move them a little bit faster after you've had a look around let's head back to the elevators and go to the Galleria level now the Galleria is kind of like the mall for the station this is where you have a bunch of other shops and services here you'll be able to find components for your ship for example or ship weapons personal weapons and personal armor while you're here I recommend checking out the armor shop which is going to give you access to some better armor if you want to get some medium or heavy armor just be aware The Heavy Armor well it's going to provide you with a lot more protection will make you a good deal slower but my main thing I think you should pick up here is a p8 SMG which is your primary weapon that's going to help you deal with baddies more efficiently don't forget to also pick up some spare magazines like I showed you before and once you're done you just have to find one of those in kiosks in order to equip those items to your character take as much time as you need to take a tour around the station and maybe buy some extra stuff if you like but when you're done and ready head back on up to the asop terminals back at the lobby and go down to your temporary personal hanger here at the station this is where we're going to pull out our real ship the Avenger Titan to do this we'll return to the ASM terminal inside the hanger and retrieve it as we did before with the C8 and afterward immediately step away from the asop terminal and just watch the show and don't walk over the edge you can fall down in there and [Music] die quite a bit different than that C8 huh it's got a size four ballistic Gatling gun on the nose by default backed by two size three omnis Sky energy cannons which is pretty meta right now it's not the prettiest ship in the world but I like its old school style that hearkens back to the space space shuttle now the Titan has two options for entry one near the cockpit and another near the rear ramp you'll use the cockpit entry to get in when the cargo bay is full but for now it's easier to just use the rear ramp and take a little tour of the ship as we go the Titan is a little bit of an older ship so it doesn't have an interactive panel just yet if you want to open it then you're going to have to just step to the side of the ramp and look for the interaction key once you find it hit F and the ramp will come down all right now before we head on over to pyro I want to to one other thing and that's about missions and some of the tools you'll need to use to do them because the reality is if you are going to go to pyro there's a high chance you're not flying back you're probably going to die so what can you do to make some money to buy some extra kit when that does happen well you head on over to the contracts manager inside your mobiglass where you'll be treated to a bunch of different options for Missions for a quick overview you got racing missions where you go to a track and you do a time trial the fact faster you go the more money you make but this is not recommended for somebody newer to Star Citizen next are Salvage missions which sells you a deed to a broken ship where you'll need to fly out to it and strip the hall planting components and cargo but you'll need a specialize ship like a vulture to do this you can do it by hand but it's a bit too slow for that right now investigation missions which sends you to a location to find a missing person generally it's non-combat focused but you can run into some NPCs that will shoot at you so it's not a bad option for new players search where you look for missing Goods this definitely will will involve a little bit of combat when you find the goods to haul aboard your ship and bring them back to the person who it belongs to mercenary missions which are exactly as they suggest you're a Hired Gun to go shoot up a place to protect something or something or other it's guaranteed combat research simple Mission type it just requires you place satellite it's not a bad way to make some easy money then you got priority missions which are for special events bounty hunting missions which you go and you hunt NPCs or players you can distinguish this by seeing the name of the person you're hunting if it's a player it won't have any spaces the name and it'll be something weird ecn alerts are a mission that spawned by players turning off comay and those are satellites located in each planetary system in Stanton which records crimes when they're committed if those things go off somebody can commit crimes in that area and get away with it without getting a crime set so that's kind of a big deal so if you go to turn that back on you're going to get shot at cuz there's definitely a player there then you've got hauling missions which are profitable missions requiring you ship a number of cargo boxes from one location to the other from very small loads to extremely large ones and then delivery missions which are much smaller versions of hauling where you've got to load just one to three boxes by hand into a small ship so these are really good for beginner level ships on top of the mission finder you can find a verified slider by toggling that you can see unverified missions which gives you a list of generally illegal missions like I said there is a way to get a crime set in this game and go to prison if you get caught so if you don't want to go to prison and you don't want to be a criminal and get shot by players then you probably shouldn't use any missions in this area unless you read the description and are sure that it's not going to get you in trouble all right then so what should you do well my recommendation is either to do the delivery box missions or what I'm about to take you through for just one sampling of this the hauling Mission and the reason why I want to do this one is because it gives you a chance to fly around Star Citizen without the stress of being shot at to learn the ropes of flying and navigating and you'll be able to see some cool places loot some stuff and get some extra gear and learn how to use the tractor beam tool which like I've already said is used in a lot of different gameplay and Star Citizen plus these tiny hauling missions will give you 50,000 a a pop which is not bad I highly recommend that you've got a Titan for this one but if you have a different ship one that doesn't have a cargo bay you might not be able to do it so here's what you're going to do you're going to go into contracts Tab and accept the first introduction Mission this is going to give you some rep it's your trial mission for doing hauling and that's going to deliver a set of boxes from 6 to 10 seu to the station that you're located at it should say from Port Trester to some location on the surface of Microtech next you're going to head on over to the cargo elevator's terminal just beside it once you activate the terminal you'll see the left and the right side the left is the elevator lift itself the right is the local inventory you're going to want to send the elevator down first by hitting the downward Arrow key and once it's down you can drag and drop the cargo boxes onto the lift after you do that you send it up and it'll be delivered to you now here's the part where you're going to need to use your tractor beam tool you can swap to your tractor beam by hitting four on your keyboard which will bring it up in order in order to activate it look at the thing you want to grab and press the left trigger button this is going to activate the tractor beam and allow you to pick it up now you can only move things at a limited speed so when you move this thing onto your ship's cargo bay don't do it too quickly since it can be difficult to get it into a ship like the Titan you may need to rotate it and reorient it to get it on the cargo grid so to rotate it and reorient it you can hold R and rotate it using the mouse once you've loaded everything onto your cargo grid you're going to have to enter your Titan from the front like I talked about earlier you just go up to the side hold down the F key with the interaction wheel and hit enter pilot seat after that we're going to take a look at the map system and find out where we need to go find out where it is click on it and hit set destination this will clean up the UI when you go into nav mode to be able to more easily locate the location you need to go you may need to Quantum first to Microtech and then you can Quantum to the location on the surface now maybe a bit counterintuitively you need to look at the location you want to go through through the planet it's likely on the other side once you do and you're aligned you can go ahead and Quantum jump there will be a really cool animation spline that'll take you around the planet it's a great view so hold Z to look around while you go and when you get there take your time flying down to the location skim some clouds or do some low flying but be careful not to fly too low as you come in make sure you watch your altitude and speed and if it's really dark you can hit that tab button I told you about to Ping and see a representation of the terrain around you just keep hitting it until you get close enough to see The Landing line the area is pretty well lit and from there you should be good or you can hit te to turn on your ship's lamps as you approach take some time to fly around the distribution center it's a pretty cool location they're scattered around the Stanton system there's a lot of gameplay here to have in the future as well including some combat opportunities and a lot of loot as well but we're going to go ahead and try to find a landing pad which is usually towards the outer edges of it or you can request landing to land in a pad that's similar to a station if you prefer it's also a little bit safer but I like using the side pads cuz it's just a lot more pretty once you're down you can use your F key to open your canopy and then look to your left to see exit ship to get out the alternative way of the adventure after that it's a simple reverse process of finding the cargo elevator and putting all the cargo you just brought onto it if you landed at the right location you should see one pretty nearby this large outdoor pad and just like how we got the cargo out from the station you're going to have to go to the terminal here and send the cargo down once you've collected all of it after that I highly encourage you explore the area and look for some loot boxes you can usually find them by finding out whether or not you can interact with it and if you can you hit F and it opens up this screen which allows you to drag and drop or shift click stuff directly into your personal inventory or if you click that arrow in the upright hand corner it opens up that uh paper doll menu I showed you before where you can drag and drop stuff from the local inventory or the box or the body you're looting directly into yours or even swap items if you wish when you're ready though open your mobiglass and take a look at your reputation tab here you'll see a new entry you've just done a mission for KX or another company which is going to give you a beginner level uh reputation level with them which means you get beginner level contracts the more missions you do for them the more reputation you'll get and the better contracts you're going to get if you do something bad against this company like say you kill some other staff at their outposts they're not going to like you anymore and they're not going to give you any more contracts reputation and Star Citizen is getting more and more important with every single patch in pyro for example there are a number of fact and depending on who you side with the other sides won't necessarily like you anymore they won't let you land at their Outpost they won't let you refuel and if they see you they'll probably shoot at you or even hunt you down so you got to be careful with who you're getting rep with and who you're shooting so think before you pull the trigger by the way if you lose your ship and it explodes you can always claim it back with insurance right now there's no complex Insurance system in the game so you can just reclaim it back for free for a duration of time and you can pay an expedited fee to speed it up if you like starter ships usually come back right away after you claim them on insurance so it's not really a big deal if they explode some other ways to make money in Star Citizen that aren't missions are for example to sell the things that you found through looting at some of the shops you go to usually the shops that sell the item that you want to sell to them will give you a little bit more money you can also do cargo trading on your own where you buy goods and then sell them other places to make a little bit of a profit you can also do a little bit of hand mining using the multi-tool you just need the orbit mining attachment which you can get at stations or cities and you have to find a cave or a ground location with rocks for you to hand mine now there are big ones that are meant for ships those ones can't be mind this is a little bit outside the scope of the video there are also medical beacons that you can take in the contracts app which will take you to go and heal players who have been hurt or are in a down state which reminds me by the way if you do die you won't necessarily die right away you'll be in a passed out state where you have an hour and a half for someone to come and heal you to get you back up and in that process you're able to actually activate a beacon for somebody to come save you once you get enough money then you'll be able to buy your own ship there are over 200 flyable ships and Star Citizen and a lot to work towards you can go to Astro Armada in Area 18 or go to the New Deal in lville there's also a shop now in pyro but like I said it's a bit more dangerous so don't go there until you're ready you may want to go into a cutless black for you and a friend to do some more intense missions and haul more cargo maybe you want to pick up a ground vehicle to put into your cutless so that you can go to dangerous Outpost you could also cut your way through NPCs a little bit better with something like an RSI scorpus personally I think the best move is to get a ship that's going to make you more money more quickly and so I'd recommend going into an Argo raft which is an intermediate hauler that's really easy to use or you might try a m prospector to do some ship Mining and make a ton of money that way or you could pick up the vulture and do some salvaging there are ultimately a lot of choices and it's up to you which you find to be the most entertaining personally I actually like doing tons of bounty hunting missions so I went into space combat but it's definitely not the best way to make the most amount of money in Star Citizen all right it's now time for that trip that I promised to pyro it's definitely not a place I would recommend you go if you're new to the game and this is your first outing or even your 10th it is a land of pirates and villainy that will almost certainly end with you adorning some guys trophy wall but I'm sure some of you guys are just going to risk it anyway and go so the way I figure it I'm might as well give you a better chance at surviving so here's a bonus guide for taking a peak through the jump point to get to the Pyro system you're going to need to take a trip through star citizens version of a wormhole it's kind of like a wormhole they call it a jump point and it's how you get from star system to star system in order to get there you're going to have to locate the Pyro jump point in your Moby glass and set it as your Waypoint like we've already learned before with the previous mission one thing you will have to learn though is how to refuel and rearm I've talked about this before but starter ships have a limited Quantum fuel tank which means that getting to the Pyro jump point and getting even through it to the other side and jumping around is going to require you refuel multiple times so you'll need to land at a space station pad or hanger and use that refueling app I told you in the Mobi glass so that you can rearm refuel and do whatever you need you can also use this to repair your ship as well if you've taken a lot of damage once you arrive at the jump point the next thing you're going to want to do is make your way to the big glowing thing that's the jump point it may or may not be open either way it's an axial phenomenon so you can only enter it from a conal shaped approach in nav mode you'll have to navigate to the UI Gates that you see in order to orient you in the right direction and there you'll also see some structures that will allow you to better locate where that entry point is at the end of the gates you'll arrive at the jump points Event Horizon something like that it's a fictional location so I'm just going to borrow some terminology at the Event Horizon if you're in nav mode your jump drive will automatically Ally begin tuning once it gets to two green bars if the jump point is not open and you'll know if it's open trust me you'll hit the left Mouse button to send a energy charge to open it up once you do that you're going to accelerate into it and cautiously navigate around the obstacles if you hit the edge or hit one of those obstacles too many times you're going to fall out of the jump point and be extremely far away from either Stanton or pyro depending on how close you are to either side and at that point you might as well self-destruct because a starter ship probably doesn't have enough fuel to get out of there or you could call in local chat to see if somebody will come and help you but it's going to be a little difficult once on the other side assuming you made it you're going to be in a place that's still controlled by the United Earth Empire and laws will still apply here but this is only a small buffer area and it won't stop some pirates from hunting you down right at the exit so be ready to make a beline straight for the station as fast as you can and request a ATC permission to land and that's where you're going to set your respawn for now and do some refueling before you head off onto another location after that you can visit anywhere you like in the system just keep in mind that you won't be able to jump more than once so wherever you're going make sure you scope out the next Point you're going to use to do some refueling otherwise you're going to get stranded and I guarantee you helping pyro is going to be you dying places to visit might be Terminus at the outermost edge of the system or orbituary around the beautiful planet of Bloom my personal favorite or pyro 4 a close second for me which has got a bunch of cool Landing areas anywhere you go though is got the possibility of PVP and initially without any reputation you should be good to land anywhere but once you start taking missions in pyro which align with one of the factions the other factions will tend to not like you personally I went with citizens for Prosperity since I'm a goody two shoes but it's up to you who you want to side with so that's it congratulations pilot you're well on your way to becoming a real citizen of the stars or Star Citizen now you know why it's called that there's a lot left to do there's friends to meet and hidden mysteries to find and awards to discover so the best of luck to you and if you're still a little bit worried and want a wingman you can always check
