okay Google has launched the new pixels in India there are four models the usual pixel9 pixel9 Pro and there's a new pixel 9 Pro XL and for the first time in India Google's first folding phone pixel 9 Pro fold and this is a big bomb dropping statement but I believe Google just beat Apple at AI see the whole AI situation is divided into two parts there's open Char gbt which is used by Microsoft and after the recent WWDC announcement even apple and then there's Google site Samsung Oppo OnePlus all use it and now Google just took it to the next level we have the Google pixel 9 which a lot of you guys were interested in and for the first time in India Google pixel 9 Pro XL we're shooting midnight and we'll answer all your burning hot questions like literally burning questions does this heat is it worth it in India well this is PR you're already watching Tech Wiis and this is a banger video let's go now before we get to the phone themselves you have to understand what is Google pixel in 2016 Google launched their first phone Google pixel 1 where Google built the hardware and software of the phone but what was important at that time is every single company from Apple's iPhone 7 to Samsung all were doing portrait mode using two Hardware lenses Google changed that and said no you're just using one camera to do it all and rest is history every smartphone maker then started doing fake background blur using one camera sensor then came pixel 3 which brought night mode and now you see night mode in 10,000 to 1 lakh rupees phone and time and time again pixels are known to destroy Hardware using software and that was somewhere lost in pixel 5 6 7 8 but this pixel 9 series I think brings back that software magic this pixel 9 series feels fresh and neat and the first change you see is in the box like it's very different from the pixel 8 series you can see Google has also taken the eco-friendly thing quite seriously you get the pull tabs in the back and then you slide this cover and then you open the box inside you get the phone a type-c to type-c Cable some paperwork that's it the extra type-c adapter that you used to get earlier is no more it used to come for phones that didn't have type-c Port but now that iPhones are type-c I guess we don't need it now before we get to the heating question is the pixel 9 hot sorry it's the last time it's the last time we need to see what's new with the pixel9 series now there's three phones pixel 9 pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL apart from size and Battery the pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL are the same phone pixel 9 is the most affordable and base variant for the pro they made a smaller version this year and then they started calling it pro and they made a bigger version and they started calling it pro XL if that makes sense now what surely makes sense are the colors the pixel 9 comes in these four colors of OBS obsidian porcelain winter green and pony P I just love the pink color now the pixel9 base has this glossy back the metallic frame has matte finish whereas the expensive pixel9 pro XL has this matte finish glass with shiny Metal Frames now one small thing that I noticed is when you use the pixel 9 Pro XL from the front the frame is visible on the front and it shines it gets a bit distracting moreover if you have dark mode on the shiny frames are much more visible and let's address the elephant in the room this huge camera bump it's about half the size of a phone I mean it looks very good and am I the only one who thinks this looks like Google search box like anyone now the bar doesn't bother in daily usage the phone doesn't wobble even if you keep it flat on the desk both the pixel 9 and pixel 9 Pro XL are ip68 you also get Corning or glass victas 2 glass protection also a welcome change this year is the fingerprint scanner you get ultronic fingerprint scanner on both the smartphones and overall I must say this year's pixel in build and design is really good like I love it and pixels have always had that unique look like I can still spot someone using Google phone in public I personally rate the design above Samsung and iPhone hot TI o and design has never been the problem in pixel the problem is performance and before we get to Performance there are three interesting things about the pixel 9 series now right off the bat camera is which Google pixels are known for and if you look on the outside the bass pixel 9 has an upgraded 48 mapix Ultra wide angle camera rest the main camera is same as last year even on the pixel 9 Pro XL the main camera and 5x Periscope camera is the same Ultra wide angle camera and selfie camera gets an upgrade so Hardware wise there's not much changes and even the photos it's the usual same sharp contrasty looks like painting in a museum or art pieces but what's mind-blowing is these four AI features first is add me you get a separate option in the camera app and now Suppose there is our Instagram celebrity Sayan and me and shabi both cannot take photos with him at the same time so first shabi goes and takes photo with Sayan now I click once now I hand over the phone to shaik and I go in the photo and pixel merges these two separate photos together now this final photo has me shic and Sayan now I was curious like how good this feature works so we took a pH photo with Sayan and shaik and then I went and tried to put my hand on Sayan to see if it fixes that and if you see the result it's kind of there kind of not there but this ad me feature is actually smart like there was a photo of me and gorov and I took my chair and changed position see it actually placed me smartly behind gorov now if you zoom in you can see that the cutout around gora's hair is not that good but for a simple Instagram post no one would find out now you can also get creative and you can duplicate yourself in the same frame but this ad me feature works really good and it works 7 to 8 out of 10 times next is zoom enhance it is now available for Pixel 9 Pro Series and pixel 8 Pro and this is good suppose I have this photo and I want to crop in and have this iPhone 6s part from the bigger image now of course this crop portion is useless it has zero details not even readable but now you apply Zoom enhance and boom see the difference and zoom enhance works on any image that you upload to Google photos it's not just limited to pixel 9 photos number three is super res Zoom for videos this was there for photos last year but now in videos If you zoom up to 20x pixel uses software HDR and all camera sensors to get you really good Sharp video even at 20x Zoom next is the new magic editor and now magic editor has a new Option called Auto reframe so as soon as I tap on it it automatically widens the frame for me and suppose I want to add something in this photo like I want to change the carpet to Grass I can select type over here in reimagine and I can do that now I understand that this reimagine feature can also be misused like I can just put Virat kohi photo on my head or I can make fake muscles on my hand I mean it can be misused pretty bad but the good thing is reimagine doesn't work on human parts human body or anywhere now here's a very bold thinking like imagine this is a photo taken from Main camera you can widen it using Ai and now it looks like an ultra wide angle photo if I want I can zoom in on my face and use zoom enhance to get 5x photo and imagine if these AI things got so good do we even need three to four camera sensors on a phone and finally there's popular night mode for videos now Google is calling it night site but this doesn't work straightforward like first you have to go to night site take a video now this video gets uploaded to Google's cloud storage there they process it on their servers and in about half an hour you get your full rest night side videos and side by side if you see it is definitely better than iPhone's video like it looks way better now there are a couple of things which I felt could have been better in the camera app like there is blur video or portrait video mode but it is still limited to 1080p you cannot even do blur video on front camera also not all the AI features works on the base pixel 9 video boost night side super resume in videos don't work on the Basse pixel 9 and again most of these camera features are software so they will also come to previous pixel 8 series and talking about software the software on the pixel series is nice like in the history of pixel phones this would be the first pixel series to come with older Android version the pixel 9 series comes with Android 14 right out of the box there's now a newly launched pixel screenshot app and with this I can say that screenshot are now actually valuable so I was looking to buy some sneakers online I was going through some websites and took some screenshots of the ones that I liked so let's say sales season came back and all I have to do is open the screenshot apps and I search here for sneakers and voila there they are and not just that if you tap open the screenshot it shows a summary about price website name and see there's a Chrome icon here if I tap on it this will take me exactly to the sneaker website now you can imagine screenshot apps to be your really good good friend who has a nice memory and you keep telling your friend about the G that you saw on Instagram or the location that you saw on Google Maps and when you actually can't think of what you did say to your friend or what you last Saw on Instagram or SnapChat you can just ask your friend or in this case the screenshots app now in order to save battery and processing Google automatically only processes 15 screenshots per day in the background for rest of the screenshots to process you'll have to go to the app and manually tap on process also a big bummer is if someone sends you a photo on WhatsApp it doesn't automatically gets added to screenshots app we'll have to manually go and add that image or just take a screenshot of that image like oh my God my gallery is going to fill with screenshots I just hope somehow they add this feature within Google photos also I know what you're thinking we tried s side loading the screenshots apps on the pixel 8 phone and other Android phones it doesn't work as it needs to support Gemini Nano so not happening and a bigger change is officially now Google assistant is Google Gemini after about 8 years Google Gemini is now the new assistant for Android and there's the Gemini life feature which is pretty smart Gemini can you detect the emotion in my voice while I'm speaking to you about the pixel 9 series come on tell me is there anything in particular you'd like to talk about with the pixel 9 series focusing on a specific part of the phone I group J has used chunk of dat Google other than this you can also use it to generate images with different styles next helpful feature in pixel is call notes so when you're recording a call and once the call is ended the AI would create a call summary similar to what we saw in iOS 18 beta but this call notes feature as of now is not available in India and it will be coming in an upcoming feature drop update and talking about updates the pixel 9 series is set to receive 7 years of OS updates and 7 security updates and this is where I think pixel just beat Apple like all the hype features of Apple intelligence which was destined to come to these two Apple iPhones in early next year 2025 they are already there on the pixel which is a win and finally performance like is this pixel 9 finally the performance Beast we were looking for I mean the pixel 9 series phones are bummed up comes with 12 gigs of RAM along with tensor G4 processor the pixel 9 Pro XL comes with 16 GB of RAM with same tensor G4 processor and here's the sad part if you look at the benchmarks the numbers are just way less than a Flagship Snapdragon 8 gen 3 and there is no excuse to it the raw performance is not good you get ufs 3.1 instead of latest ufs 4.0 which is again come on these are Flagship phones that cost 1 lakh plus even in the CPU throttling app the performance is bad like pixel 9 Pro XL has a wer cooling chamber it's just that the pixel software doesn't let it run 100% but hey since when have Google phones being all about performance and scoring highest in the benchmarks never no but what makes the tensor G4 different is it is the first processor that can run Google Nano which is a multimodel AI now you might be thinking but what is this multimodel AI what is Gemini Nano so we have three forms of content text image and video and then there's Gemini Nano so what it does is let's say you take a screenshot from which you want to extract text or just extracted image and do a Google search well gini Nano makes that possible so in simple words you can give text generate an image you can give an image generate a text or give a image and generate a video gini Nano makes that possible and in my short usage the performance on the pixel 9 Series has been good and good news is pixel 7 and pixel 8 had network issues but the modm on the pixel 9 has been updated now in our limited usage the phone didn't heat that much but again we need to use these phones more it has been only a couple of days now so let us know which one you want us to review the pixel 9 or the pixel 9 Pro XL so after all of this praque the pixel 9 is great should I get it who is it for well the prices in India for the pixel 9 series are as follows and I even got the US pricing converted in rupees note that the US pricing doesn't involve taxes so by that logic the indan pricing is not bad but from the last time the pixel 9 series have a price hike of about 5,000 rupes that 5,000 price bum you get an upgraded processor more RAM and better base storage now the interesting part here is you can order pixel 9 and pixel 9 Pro XL as as of now in India the pre-order for Pixel 9 Pro and pixel 9 Pro fold starts later I mean I really like the devices but I feel these software features will come down to pixel 8 and 8 Pro as well which as of now are selling for huge discounts like the pixel 8 cost around 50,000 rupes whereas the pixel 8 Pro with exchange and all of that goes down to 70 to 80,000 rupes I still feel those are a good deal and if you want the latest and greatest I mean early
