Mafia Game Overview

Players and Setup

• Number of Players: 12 to 16
• Roles:
  • Moderator
  • Mafia members
  • Townspeople
  • Detective
  • Doctor

Role Assignment

1. Moderator:
   • Assign roles and ensure smooth game flow.
2. Card Selection:
   • Choose a suit for mafia (e.g., hearts or clubs).
   • Mafia Cards:
     • Three mafia cards for every townsperson.
   • Special Roles:
     • Set aside a King (Detective) and a Queen (Doctor) from any suit.
   • Remaining Players:
     • Draw random cards from non-mafia suits for the rest.
3. Card Distribution:
   • Shuffle and distribute cards randomly.
   • Players must keep their roles secret.

Game Phases

Night Phase

1. Sleep:
   • All players close their eyes.
2. Mafia Wake Up:
   • Mafia members silently identify themselves to the moderator.
   • Mafia chooses a player to eliminate (silent communication allowed).
3. Detective Wake Up:
   • Detective guesses who may be mafia.
4. Doctor Wake Up:
   • Doctor chooses someone to save (can save self or another).

Day Phase

1. Reveal Events:
   • Moderator explains the night events (e.g., who was attacked and if the doctor saved them).
2. Debate:
   • Players debate for 5-10 minutes.
3. Voting:
   • Players vote to eliminate one player.
   • Eliminated players reveal their roles and sit out.

Game Continuation

• Repeat Night and Day phases until:
  • All mafia members are eliminated.
  • All townspeople are eliminated.
