the next week and this week's challenge is all about writing a one act play proposal so Jor Jerry what should our students do in order to take on this challenge yeah okay so cameras screenshot you're to create a short proposal for a one o play containing the following parts take note of the parts a brief description of the setting which will be our discussion for today and then this a short uh description for at least two characters also and then uh plat copsis beginning uh middle and the end and then then of course you are to post it uh to your uh to our hashtag intellect creative writing our favorite hashtag every actually like creative writing okay T Jerry so uh we will be going back to this challenge later on so that so don't worry guys okay so we will proceed now to our topic for today which is we will be conceptualizing a character setting plot for a one act play so it's all about One play t Jerry one play so I'm excited to we're excited of course to discuss that with our uh learners for this assession to the that's true T Jerry so I think it's time now for our flash review review okay T Jerry can you do the favor please okay so last time but then with a purpose Nam uh you're going to write the if the given text is an example of deliberate intertextuality and then L if it is an example of a latent intertextuality so it's letter D or uh it's letter D or L yes okay so let's see guys so number one Kami kazis Narda mentions the character ding a character from Mars ravelo's comic series Darna is it deliberate or latent what do you guys think remember characters set or qu from The Source material deliberately what do you guys think yeah so we have an answer already sir chor kit Ed answered D Chila kit yes the answer is D the answer is good job it's letter d yeah yes good job guys T Jerry moving on uh we have Michael Grant series gun was influenced by William golding's Lord of the Flies yeah is it D or is it l what do you guys think yeah P comment down your answer comment section stud Jer I think they remembered well you last time that's very impressive thank you guys thank you and answer according to Edison is L latent now let's see it's letter D at least oh yeah now let me explain why it's it's D it's actually uh what do I call this a little bit of an adaptation plot structure Lord of the Flies series Michael Grant so an influence is a little bit of a deliberate uh intertextuality okay next okay so the Harry Potter series has some resemblance with JRR tolins the Lord of the Ring series resemblance what do you guys think kitan what did you guys think it's l according to Edison Edison okay nlin said L as well let's see Jer let's see yes yes it's letter L yeah latent sh yes good job guys latent sha cu resemblance it's it wasn't deliberately taken or influenced by another source okay next thank you good job K Vicki Michelle K Charmy K Sheila good job next J Jerry the hit TV series Lobo played by uh Angel oin ver some resemblance to the Twilight book series an my Lobo yeah part sir per same with [Laughter] Twilight K anwers Jerry angel said L Christine said L as well but John Lucas Edison NESN Vicky Misha and charm me and it is L Leighton yeah good job good job John Lucas Lobo da Nam Jerry Yan uh Regina Spector song Samson is based on the biblical character Samson resemblance name Samson and Par G what do you guys think h m lang Yan K to guys it's uh d d sa Ed VI I I noticed no that when we when we are doing the eite time goes really fast it's 458 kid it's letter d good job guys okay so I think we will now move on to our next one but before that congratulations for answer flash review good job guys okay tter [Laughter] Jerry learn gu guest Learners of the week yes so uh today guys we're actually very lucky no to have two guest Learners of the week from Christy High School No Sa Capas SD tlak Province and hopefully next time s sdo sir Jerry hopefully yeah after M Melissa yes that's true that's true okay so do we have G Stephanie C abatayo and Mikel Jane kambas uh in the background now are are you guys there hello hello po hi hell success good afternoon say Ino Mella and G kumusta Kay po good good yes hello po I'm green Stephanie catay a gr 12 student from Chris High School Capas nice and how about you mikella hi po my name is mikella Jas from F Ray High School yum 2A a pleasant good afternoon nice May tanong Mayo kout out janen or Mikel it's your time to parang NASA Limelight see so anyways m a short question no uh creative writing favorite [Laughter] subject B topic topic kitama 50% convert Sil to De Cho Jerry no yeah okay so Cho Jerry Let's uh move along now and then maybe we could ask our our our guests today to help us discuss this and read some of our text today as well okay so our topic for today is one act plays now what are one-act plays mikella can you read the definition of a one act play please one place a sh plate taken place in one location to set over a period of no more than one day and have one Central PL okay thank you so much so guys if you notice we are one one one one location one time and then one Central plot gu say one that plays are just very short plays just one act long and so it's condensed and you need it to be short so you need to have one location one one time and then one Central plot to Jerry yes chit meron silang clue and that is what about uh the other definition J Okay g can you help us read this please one a place usually run for about 10 to 40 minutes despite the short running time one place should feel complete okayer 10 to 14 minutes one Jerry uh one play but according to our lesson for today it's actually a lot easier know you beginning play wres they can actually they should write a one act play before writing a full-fledged many act plays no okay so here are some of the things that you need to have if you are writing a onea play chter Jerry what are the things that we need to have so we have uh the following you have to take this in mind or you have to get the details one location One Time One Center that characters limited to four or fewer and then conflict should be resolved at the end conflict resolve in the end oh hanger here are more uh things to remember guys your character development should be in the dialog and there's no narrators that means that there will be no one who will tell you what the characters think and so you need to kind of reveal the character development through your dialogue okay and also it should feel like a complete story my beginning my middle and end just like a short story format yeah so what could be a setting for a onea play uh Mikel can you help us read this please setting in a oneup play the setting for a oneup play is just one scene how however you must still develop the scene so the audience can experience everything about the story that's true even though yes Jerry Noti sir Jun Jun Ramos K hi sir jorai practical research good luck sir junun I know practical research is hard but you can do it okay so in a setting guys in creating a setting uh remember it's kind of different when you're reading a play and when you are watching a play so so for a play that is this red no uh so you need to be very descriptive and use imagery so that uh the setting will be Vivid okay but in in as in a play that you you will have to watch then the setting is deliberate it's in from of you basically okay so what about the characters in a one play tutor Jerry uh characters in a one o play uh deser to avoid complex uh developments limit characters to four or fewer one so that the totes will be delivered well that's true characters remember this is a very short uh play and so you need to uh you need your uh audience to focus on just maybe one to four yes G can you help us read this please characters in one play fully fles out characters as a playright you need to have a clear idea of your characters motivation desires and personalities even though it's it's a play uh you need your characters to be well-rounded flater flat characters yeah yeah K during the first gr oh soat character joring bored a if if your characters uh with regards to one up play will be flat true round oh round members TV broadcas Learners commercial yeah and one thing that we would like you guys to remember when you are writing uh characters and want to play that you need your characters to show us something rather than just tell it could be through dialogue or it could be through action daat okay what about the conflict children Jerry yes conflict in a one up choose uh this is uh this is a reminder choose a conflict that can be resolved within the short time frame of [Music] the it should be resolv by the end of the play yes nice okay so what about dialogue in a one I play uh G can you help us read this please dialogue in a w play right dialogue that reveals something about your characters and advances advances the plot at the same time so uh when you write dialogues remember characters more so your dialogue should be well chosen that it should reveal the character's motivations and desires remember uh the dialogue should uh push the plot forward as well yes my linking K that's true chor Jerry what about the plot chor Jerry uh the plot is simple and comprehensible the basic plat formula is that of a beginning a middle and an end a beginning middle and end essay that's true Tor Jerry no an so given all of that guys oh let's see I I will be I don't know I will be skipping this yes we will be and so flash review next time that's true chor Jerry yeah and today Tor Jerry we are we are honored not to have GW and Mella excited and what what are what will they be doing Jerry with their dialogues through these of course one act play by Alberto s Florentino it's entitled the world is an apple Filipino Filipino po oh Phil Filipino Filipino and guys this is a a prime example of a one act play no and I want you guys to pay attention carefully no we have two characters here Mario which is glorious husband and tita's father and Gloria which is Mario's wife uh Mel ba SI Mario or Gloria mikella are you there glor and then G will be Mario okay so Gwen and uh mikella are you gu ready to to read the world is an apple yes sir Let's Get It On okay s Jerry narrator first paragraph sure T kit okay so let's start Mario enters from the street at left he is in his late 20s shovely dressed with hair that seems to have been uncut for week he puts his lunch bag on the B sits down removes his shoes and puts them beside his lunch bag okay Mario is that you Mario yes I'm glad you're home early how is TA don't wake her up Mario she starred she cried the whole day has she been eating well she wouldn't eat even a mouthful ofo but I'll buy her some biscuits maybe she'll eat them I'll take some of the money Gloria can you wait a minute hey what's the matter why are you suddenly so touchy who wouldn't be I'm talking to you about the child and you bother me by Runing my pockets I wish you'd think more of our daughter my God wasn't I thinking of her why they think I need someone to buy me a pretty dress or see a movie t on your voice he'll wake the child up all I want is a little money to buy her something to eat she hasn't eat anything all day was what I was bothering you I'm sorry Gloria now may I have some of the money money I don't have any not now Mario yes but Gloria okay Gloria are you there but what but what where's your where's your pay for the week I don't have it what I waited for you the whole day and you tell me that I have nothing nothing what do you want me to do still I'm not asking you to do a like that all is what you did with your money nothing is left of it nothing what happened oh I had a few drinks with my friends before I knew it I had spent every cab of it Mario do you think you have make a fool of me Gloria Heaven seen you drink before cowling home like a wounded snake and wreaking of alcohol like a hospital you don't smell or look drunk all right so we didn't go drinking but your pay what happened to it it's better if you don't know Gloria look Mario I'm your wife I have the right to half of everything you get if I can have my share I have the right to know at least where it went Gloria I've lost my job oh no it's true Gloria what about your pay for the whole week I lost my job a week ago and you never even told me I thought I could get another without making you worry but how lose it what's the use of talking about it that would bring it back what they what did they accuse you off just want you men to say fairing they call it what else would you call it what according to them did you steal it was nothing much really nothing at all what was it it was an apple yay [Music] Jer uh I hope uh
