EcoFlow Home Power System Review

Jul 12, 2025

Overview

The video reviews the EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 and Delta Pro Ultra, covering features, setup, connectivity options, and practical demonstrations for home backup and off-grid use.

Delta Pro Ultra Specifications

  • 6,000W lithium iron phosphate battery with 3,500 cycles to 80% capacity.
  • 7.2kW split-phase inverter (stackable, up to 5 batteries per inverter, 3 in parallel for 90kWh storage).
  • Includes various AC/DC outlets: 120V (20A, 30A), 120/240V (30A), Anderson plug, low/high PV solar input, and USB ports.
  • Magnetic, removable doors for easy access and cable management.
  • New “X cooling” system uses heat pipes and fans for quiet operation.
  • Inverter and battery mountable on optional rolling cart for portability.

Setup and Connectivity

  • Battery and inverter connect via 90° cable; both have expansion ports for additional batteries.
  • Panel and inverter connect through standard and generator ports.
  • Smart Home Panel 2 serves as a subpanel; supports double pole circuits and generator lockout.
  • Panel features NEMA 3R (outdoor) enclosure; bottom battery box is NEMA 1 (indoor only).

Smart Home Panel 2 Features

  • Supports 12 circuits (expandable); prioritization settings in the app.
  • WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity for remote control and monitoring via app.
  • App allows scheduling, circuit control, monitoring of savings, consumption, and source (grid, battery, solar).
  • Customizable operating modes: backup reserve, off-grid, scheduled tasks, UPS, and outage strategy.

Demonstrated Use Cases

  • Connected and powered home loads (dryer, AC, stove, ovens) without issue.
  • Switches between grid, battery, and generator seamlessly; UPS mode provides near-instant transfer during outage.
  • Solar input demonstrated, though limited by weather during filming.
  • Flexible installation: can power select circuits or the entire home.

System Operation Modes

  • Option 1: Use 30A/240V transfer switch to power select circuits (up to one inverter/battery stack).
  • Option 2: Use 50A generator port (with EcoFlow generator hub) for higher loads (up to two stacks).
  • Option 3: Connect directly to Smart Home Panel 2 for up to three stacks, powering all circuits.
  • Additional hub (future) under development for further expandability.

App Functionality

  • Monitor and control battery, inverter, and smart panel use.
  • Set up and name circuits, schedule tasks, and configure outage- or battery-based circuit priorities.
  • Adjust charge rates, enable EPS (UPS) mode, update firmware, and monitor real-time data.

Recommendations / Advice

  • Install battery connection box in a weather-protected area if the smart panel is outdoors.
  • Prioritize essential circuits for backup and configure load shedding in the app based on battery state.

Questions / Follow-Ups

  • Plans to test “time of use” mode and circuit prioritization during extended outages.
  • Open to viewer questions regarding setup, features, and real-world use.
