2025 Wide Receiver Rankings Preview

I think anybody with a pulse that does fantasy football rankings has Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson at number one and number two, but our rankings after that may shock you a little bit. Headliner Nation, today's video is going to give you a little bit of a sneak peek into our 2025 fantasy football draft guide. Today I'm going to be talking about our top 24 wide receivers and then I'm going to be giving you quite a few picks after that as far as some sleeper candidates, high upside plays, safe floor volume. This will be the most detailed rankings video that you see on YouTube when talking about wide receivers. But make sure if you want to see our top 250 rankings, including our tier rankings and even further than what we talk about today, then go get your fantasy draft guide right now at tfhdraftguide.com. The link is in the description below. To round out tier one, we are going to have CD Lamb, Malik Neighbors, and Aman Roth St. Brown. I think we can agree that all three of these guys will see decent volume in 2025. When it comes to CD Lamb, it's all about a very healthy Dak Prescott. And with George Pickkins stretching the field, he's going to see a ton of targets underneath that could also open up some bigger plays for him. Malik Neighbors in the quarterback situation there in New York definitely has to be better than what it was last year. Russell Wilson should still be able to get Malik Neighbors a solid amount of targets and his big play ability will put him here towards the top five. Now hopefully he stays healthy. He has been banged up a little bit but as of right now we think he's raring and ready to go for week one. And then Aman Ross St. Brown a lot of people are making a big deal out about the change in offensive coordinator and I'll be honest with you as a Lions fan someone who has been hyper critical of this organization for years. I'm not nearly as worried. The connection between golf and St. Brown is documented, well documented, that it's one of the best connections in all of football. Even historically speaking, it is. They will continue to hook up more than enough in 2025 for him to warrant this high of a draft pick. Tier 2 is going to have some big time high upside candidates. Starting off with Drake London, who while we have it wide receiver six in our combined rankings in our draft guide, I've got him as high as wide receiver three. I absolutely love Drake London this season. I'm all in on the Atlanta offense and I think they are going to be way better than what we have seen over the last couple of years. Drake London is trending up a lot and if you want more information on that, he was in my must-have wide receiver video that I posted last week. Coming in right behind him, another big-time playmaker is going to be Nico Collins. And last season before his injury, he got started off as the wide receiver too on the season. Now, a little bit of a change on the offensive line hopefully makes it better in 2025, giving CJ Stout a little bit more protection and more time to throw to Nico Collins. But the biggest thing is just staying healthy. Puka Nakua at wide receiver 8. He is going to be a huge target volume wide receiver this year. And while Devonte Adams may cut into his targets a little bit, I think we can all agree that that Puka Nakua role that Cooper Cup used to have at one point in time is one that Matthew Stafford loves. Speaking of Matthew Stafford, he's got to be healthy as well. If we get towards week one of the regular season and Matthew Stafford's back is still a concern, then maybe we need to move Puka down a little bit in our rankings. At wide receiver nine, we have Brian Thomas Jr. The addition of Travis Hunter absolutely could steal a few targets away from him, but Travis Hunter is not going to play 100% of the offensive snaps because of how often he'll be over on defense. So, Brian Thomas is still going to be the big playmaker in this offense. Hopefully, Trevor Lawrence can form the same connection that M. Jones had with him last year when Brian Thomas Jr. was seeing a ton of targets. To finish out tier 2, Lad McConi at wide receiver 9 and AJ Brown at wide receiver 10. Now, will Lad McConi see as much volume as he did to end 2024? Maybe not. Will he see more than what he did to begin 2024? Probably. We're going to be looking at a more consistent number of targets over the course of a full season than at the beginning of the year when it was very runheavy. and then at the end of the year when they were throwing the ball an awful lot more. But with Omari Hampton and Naji Harris, they definitely will be sticking with the run more often. So, as long as Zlad Manki is the wide receiver one and the number one target in this offense, it should still be enough to put him right around wide receiver one status. And for AJ Brown, dealt with some injuries last year, still was a wide receiver one, still had big-time upside. And on a per game basis, there's not a ton of wide receivers that you can look at that has more upside than he does. Tier three is going to start with a little bit of risk because at wide receiver 11, we have Tyreek Hill. His value is completely tied to Tua, but Tua is currently healthy. Tyreek, who had injury issues last year, he's currently healthy. If Tua cannot put himself in a position where he's taking as many hard hits as he used to, and he can stay on the field for maybe not even 17 games, give me 14 or 15, Tyreek Hill should still be in consideration for wide receiver one status during that time. Just think if that connection gets back to what we saw a couple of years ago and you're drafting him this late in your rounds, you could definitely be on to some big upside potential with him. Right after Tyreek Hill, T Higgins, another guy who has dealt with injury concerns over the last couple of years, but he's been paid now. Does that help him stay on the field a little bit more often? And we know from the touchdowns last year that even at times if he gets to be a little touchdown dependent because the amount of volume going to Jamar Chase, it really doesn't matter. He can also find his way into top 12 status. Wide receiver 14, Jackson Smith Nigba. Now, what will the offense look like with him this season? I think there is some questions that need to be asked about will he play in the slot as much? Is he going to move outside? Do they have enough people around him to help take the pressure off? Now that Tyler Lockett and DK Metaf are gone, this offense could end up looking a little bit different. And with Clint Kubak running the offense, they're definitely going to run it a whole lot more. So finishing as a wide receiver one, not something I think that could happen. But with enough volume, wide receiver 2 status, I think is definitely within play. And right behind him at wide receiver 15, one of my favorite bargains right now in drafts is Terry McLaren. And I know there's been the whole ch talk of trade and he's holding out for a new deal. Whatever it may be, Washington's going to get something done with him by week one. They're not going to trade him. He's too important to what this offense does and what it did last season. Something is going to get done. He will end up being just fine. He'll be on the field for week one. And then we find ourselves in a position where because of all of this nonsense this off season, it gave us a really good deal on a guy that scored 13 touchdowns last season and finished inside the top 12 wide receivers. Now, wide receiver 16 with Mike Evans and wide receiver 17 with DJ Moore. Also some questions just because of how good the players around them may be this season. Mike Evans, no spring chicken. He is getting a little bit older and we know he's got the big play and touchdown ability locked up within that offense. But Amecha Ibuka is going to command a decent amount of targets. You still have Jaylen McMillan. You're going to run the football with Bucky Irving. Cade Atten is there. Chris Godwin. Who knows when he ends up playing, but when he does, that's just more competition for targets. So, wide receiver one status probably not happening with Mike Evans. He's going to have to score quite a bit of touchdowns to really return a ton of value all season long. Then right after him with DJ Moore, I mean, I love Romo Dunay this season. He's going to be coming up here in a minute. We'll talk more about that then. But for Romo Dunay, he could be a guy that really takes on that Jameson Williams role with the offense where Ben Johnson utilized him as the big playmaker last season where DJ Moore takes on an Aman Roth St. Brown role where we're trying to get him open in space, really let him work over the middle of the field and do some certain things with him. But realistically, it all comes down to one person, and that's going to be Caleb Williams. In number 18, Garrett Wilson. And last season with Aaron Rodgers, who at times looked like he didn't even care about playing football. He was still a wide receiver. One, the change to Justin Fields is going to bring a dramatic change overall to this offense. Garrett Wilson could still see a decent amount of volume this year to put him with a really safe floor, but the high upside is the thing that worries me the most because it depends on how good Justin Fields ends up being and if the growth we saw from him last year at Pittsburgh continues and he continues that upward trajectory with his upside play at the quarterback position. They're also going to be running the football quite a bit. This is an offensive scheme that's also going to be coming over from Detroit that could see some different things trying to get Garrett Wilson open. I just don't know if he has enough help around him. We've got some question marks at wide receiver 19 and wide receiver 20 because when you take a look at Devonte Adams, the question mark right now is Matthew Stafford's back. If he ends up missing time this season, Devonte Adams is going to have some up and down performances. Now, do I think they're a little bit better prepared for life without Matthew Stafford this year than what they have been in the past? Yes. But not nearly enough that I'm like, Devonte Adams is a full go. I want to see Matthew Stafford healthy before the end of training camp before I go all in on Devonte Adams. And for Rasheed Rice, he's got a suspension hanging over his head right now. If we're moving forward under the assumption that he won't be suspended in 2025, Rasheed Rice actually probably deserves to be a few spots higher. But if he were to miss four, five, six games this season, he definitely is somebody that drops outside the top 24. Marvin Harrison Jr., the connection with Kyler Murray was there at times last season, but some of those stronger NFL quarterbacks continue to bump Marvin Harrison Jr. off of his routes. He's added some muscle. He's a lot stronger this year and hopefully he wins those one-on-one battles way more often. To finish tier three though, Z Flowers, how are we feeling about Zay Flowers? Because last year to begin the year, the amount of targets he was getting was definitely within wide receiver one territory. But by the end of the season wasn't even close. Z Flowers either needs more targets on a consistent basis or we need to see some more big playability out of him. To round out the top 24 wide receivers, I've got Romo Dunay and Jameson Williams. And then after I talk about these two players, I have a group of wide receivers in two different categories. I'm going to be talking about the guys with the most upside that could end up making their way into it based on big playability alone. And then I'll have a second group of wide receivers that's all going to be based on solid volume. and that volume could end up carrying them inside the top 24. So after I'm done with my top 24, don't go anywhere because the amount of wide receivers I still have to talk about is insane. Wide receiver 23, Romo Dunay. Mentioned it a minute ago with DJ Moore. I think Romo Dunay has some massive big playability this season, just like the guy right behind him, Jameson Williams at wide receiver 24. I think both of these guys are going to have some massive games that help you win weeks. I also think they're both going to have some singledigit games that really frustrate you because if they could have just gotten you a few more points, you probably win your week with them. However, some inconsistencies need to be had when it comes to how much big playability both of these guys bring to the table. And these guys are in no particular order. So don't think that these are rankings. I'm just talking about the group of players as a whole led by Green Bay's Matthew Golden. Absolutely love the big play potential that he's going to bring to the table in that offense. And with as many drops that Jaden Reed, Dantavian Wixs, and Romeo Dobs had last season, Matthew Golden should be in line to be the wide receiver one right away. Devonte Smith is one of the biggest play wide receivers in all of football, but we also know that he disappears sometimes as well. Is he a great baseball pick? Absolutely. But in reddraft leagues, he can be a little inconsistent. Xavier Worthy, we'll see how his role expands in Kansas City this year. He could end up being the big play guy there or they could utilize him on those short routes as well. We know he has the speed. The route running is something that he needed to clean up a little bit. Maybe he has done that. Jordan Addison is going to be a big touchdown guy, especially if JJ McCarthy is every bit as good as he has looked, not only last season before his injury, but at times in training camp this year. He is a guy that could see quite a bit of touchdown potential, even if it's not consistent volume. George Pickkins in Dallas. He's another guy that's got a lot of big play potential, especially when defenses are going to be paying a lot of attention to CD Lamb and Jake Ferguson underneath. George Pickkins is going to win some one-on-one battles down the field. Calvin Ridley is a big play potential within that Tennessee offense. Maybe he doesn't see consistent volume, but he's going to see consistent big plays. Brandon Aayuk whenever he returns from his injury, he's going to be the field stretcher in that San Francisco offense. And when you've got Ricky Pearl and you've got George KD and Christian McCaffrey all commanding the box towards the offensive line, Brandon Iay absolutely will get some plays down the field as well this year. Cedric Tilman for Cleveland. We'll see who ends up being the starting quarterback there, but Cedric Tillman at times last season looked every bit the part of a wide receiver 24 type of player. Now, here's the thing with him. I wrote him up in the draft guide. A pretty substantial section. So, if you get the draft guide, make sure you check it out. And then Maris Brown, he's also really kind of in that big play area for me with Xavier Worthy. bringing him back for another season was really good for Patrick Mahomes, but his absolute role in the offense probably still yet to be determined. The one thing we know with Maris Brown, he can stretch the field though. So, if Xavier Worthy has grown into a guy that's going to play a little bit all over and run different routes, Maris Brown absolutely could be the guy that sees bigger plays down the field. But what about players with solid volume? Maybe they're not going to have the most upside in the world, but their roles in their offense could absolutely lead to enough volume to sneak them right inside the top 24 from time to time. Worst case scenario, the amount of volume that they get could keep them as a wide receiver three. So, there's still a look on draft day for these guys. Starting with DK Metaf, who I actually included in my must-have wide receivers video just a couple of weeks ago. And I'll tell you what, when it comes to DK Metave, I wasn't all on board earlier in the offseason, but I am now. And you'll find out in that video. And the same thing goes for Chris Lave. I included him because of where his ADP stands in conjunction with where it's been over the last couple of years. He is a huge value this year. And I know the quarterback situation really worries people. But I think the quarterbacks that they have, even if they're not great, will be just good enough to get Chris Ave the ball, is the number one target in New Orleans. Amecha Ibuka. He is going to be a guy that I loved him coming out. He was in competition for wide receiver one status the entire time. By the end of draft season, I had him at wide receiver three, but he was a guy that I knew could make an impact right away. The problem is is he's going to have to make an impact on a team with a ton of wide receivers, which even if he does get a good amount of volume, could still lead to some inconsistencies. Travis Hunter, Brian Thomas Jr. is going to be the big play guy in Jacksonville. But for Travis Hunter, he's going to be a guy that's going to see a decent amount of volume, especially over the middle of the field. And even if it's not huge volume, like nine or 10 targets a game, if you get him six targets a game for wide receiver two status, that could end up putting him right in that area, especially if you also get fantasy points for defensive scoring because Travis Hunter is going to be on that side of the ball as well. Debo Samuel right after that. I think he's going to see a good amount of volume in this Cliff Kingsberry offense and Jaden Daniels is going to look his way. I think him and Terry McLaren can both be top 24 wide receivers based on volume alone. I don't think the volume is going to get awful for either of these guys and they both present really good values at their current ADPs. Rookie T McMillan in Carolina could end up being a huge target for Bryce Young. Bryce Young is going to have to take another step forward though for T McMillan to be a consistent high upside fantasy producer. That's why I'm really just looking at the volume. him. If he can get enough targets this year, his playmaking ability after the catch should be really, really solid to giving him a decent floor every single week. Khalil Shakir is a guy that can have a lot of volume, especially in PPR leagues and the offense he's in. Jaylen Wadd kind of in that same category when you talk about PPR leagues and getting him that type of volume. Now, their floor starts to drop when you start to look at half and standard leagues, but these guys are both at least the number two target on their team heading into this season. Stefon Diggs in New England, if he's healthy, which right now it looks like he could be, him and Drake May could make a really solid connection. And we've seen Stefon Diggs be one of the best wide receivers at times in the NFL. So being a top 24 wide receiver, I don't think that that's out of the question at all as long as he's the main target there. Ricky Piol in San Francisco, he's another slot wide receiver that could see enough volume in PPR and half PPR leagues to kind of help establish a solid floor for him. Cooper Cup in Seattle. Once again, another target guy that even if he's not the big play guy in Seattle, and that's Jackson Smith and Jigba Cooper Cup, as long as he stays healthy, he could see a fair amount of targets this year. Jacobe Meyers is going to see a fair amount of targets as well. But Brock Bowers is the number one target. And then they're going to run the football a lot as well. That's why Jacobe Meyers just isn't nearly as titillating this season as a lot of people really want him to be. Josh DS at times was the main guy for Anthony Richardson last year, but we don't even know who the starting quarterback is going to be yet. Demario Douglas, another PPR guy that at times last season showcased a solid floor based on the volume alone, just with really no big playability. And Juan Del Robinson is the same way behind him. Tons of targets last season, just no big playability. And that's why you really can't talk about these guys as much higher than wide receiver 24. And likely they finish around wide receiver three status instead. But Headliner Nation, we talked about our top 24 wide receivers. If you want to go even deeper, make sure you get our draft guide. And then I went through a couple of other categories as well to really talk about the guys that could end up finishing inside the top 24 that just aren't ranked there right now. Make sure you hit that like button. Make sure you subscribe. Make sure you leave a comment. Do it all, Headliner Nation. Push the videos. It's almost football time. We need to lock ourselves in. Stay safe. Stay healthy. And I'll catch you all on the next episode of the Fantasy Headliners. [Music]
