by recognizing our cuties of the week these are the students uh who submitted their their poems uh to to us and these are the four of the best students we have had uh read their poems right Sergio yes sir recognize them yes out of hundreds that's correct that's a hyperbole joke yeah okay sir yes so uh we would like to feature their work here as well for example JC here wrote addicted to Sunrise and let me read it I love choco milk slurp addicted to Sunrise I'm full of Pancakes burp mornings are lovely no lies great use of rhyme here yes and at the same time the onomatopoeia I love that good good it's real excruciating against at first path but your metaphors abandon the parchment the indelible ink you crafted created what was once a safe place in this planet against her of course yeah the use of the figures of speech is definitely visible with this output very good good job nestling next from John John digalisa John Jen wrote when in love John John you may be in love right now so so let me read this for for you guys first time I saw your face my heart skipped your wide Brown beautiful eyes made me flustered I bit my fingertip I gradually fell was that your tactic I melted to red as she glared at me your voice like a siren I wanted to hear the Silhouettes strength strengthen our faith as we under the old oak tree Bond tight wow great use of uh of metaphors here and some personification as well and uh good job good job is uh I know maybe yeah I think our 2DS write better poems when they're inspired yeah yes definitely that's right we also have uh the poem written by Kate RG runes actually this is a this was a reformer student uh title of her poem is of moments in the present okay outrun the bullet of Truth before it unfolds after the Hawks because by then if fear is a mind killer we have all been dead then dreamer decides to sleep to lies the what ifs of not trying but what's on the future worried about the past and chat in the present can you speak it that was actually profound that's her Jerry yeah yes sir definitely so guys congratulations to our two congratulations great job great job great job and guys it's also wanted to be featured as two years of the week watch out for our next challenge and submit your entry so that you will be featured as well all right actually our next Challenger is uh quite challenging young creation actually about this challenge I was amazed with the with this Challenge and hopefully we will have a lot of outputs this coming week Sir With regards to your creation okay what about the silent circuit so actually this challenge guys is you have to create your own fictional character this will be based on our uh lesson today so you will have to write at least one or two paragraphs describing your character and you may use the following prompts as your guide can you help us read the prompts sir Jerry yeah yeah okay sir so the first one is your character look like so you're going to imagine actually include any physical quirks or mannerism and then you also have what is your character's personality you may include notable habits pet fields and favorites love interests and more okay so we also have what is your characters flow it's not only the positive that you will uh be telling us but then you also have to say the negativities in you and then what is your character's motivation or desire and of course again you will be posting your character description using yes and if you if you get chosen we will be featuring you guys as two days of the week uh next week all right okay so I think let's get into it as Sir Jerry yes again our goal for today is to identify the various elements techniques and Ultra devices in various modes of fiction with focus on our characters yeah so sir Gary I think we have a a quick review here we need to sir we need to yes okay so we have here a uh the quick review uh you just have to identify the figure with speech used in the following statements and then you could uh directly write your answers on the comment section and then we'll be reading it okay okay so what starts with number one all right okay guys number one I am drowning in modules assignments and tests speech is used in this sentence I agree sir Jerry please comment your answer on the comment section what do you think you coming all right you have to drop down your comment as fast as quick as possible yeah yes no yeah [Music] wow good job let's let's check the answers sir Jerry yeah what about number two sir Jerry so for number two we have oh love oh sadness oh loneliness wow so what do you think is the fear of spits in this statement okay when you're calling for something that's something isn't there right it could be an abstract uh concept it could be someone too what do you guys think oh love oh sadness sir Jerry this uh this example is uh depressed Express all right guys yes sir uh actually we already have an answer yes he answered a literation oh sorry yeah I think we reveal the answer a little bit here what the answer is apostrophe yes apostrophe guys alliteration is different yeah it's different yes but I want the third one sorry the third one the comedian was seriously funny seriously funny confessing yeah two contrasting words yeah yeah then it's it's been combining me yeah it's usually uh combined to kind of like strengthen the the last word right yes what do you guys think I believe their answers are coming late I know oh he answered apostrophe for number two but yes that's correct yeah they just have to put numbers in their uh answers yeah so that we could uh identify the correct yes uh the correct answer for the correct number okay okay let's see let's see sir this actually is an oxymoron yeah guys okay sorry okay but these are they're a rare what to call this a rare figures of speech found usually in poetry but uh oxymoron uh in particular is is used in conversations nowadays So yeah thank you guys thank you all right okay this is an exciting to answer here yes sir what is it sir so I'm encouraging everyone to please make it quick in answering so that we could recognize your answers true okay so we have here the guess the factor and our directions are the following you have to guess the characters from popular fiction based on the given Clues a silhouette will be provided as an extra flu and then you're going to write down your guesses on the comments okay yeah it will be an exciting once again hopefully you guys will all participate and help us guess these characters okay character number one these are your Clues Gryffindor Quidditch broken wand scabbers it's the it's the the rat red hair Hermione Fred and George's brother who is the character guys dropped her answer in the comments section come on go go go go go go go you know this you know this you know this character okay do we have any answers from our comment section guys Gryffindor quidditch broken wand oh Aliyah said Harry Potter close but he's a friend a parent yes sir uh Rosa Flores answered Road Wesley Ron Weasley Nestle let's let's see sir Jerry okay good job and everyone else thank you guys okay this one sir Jerry take it away okay so the next character you have the clues we have a police or a soldier next one task force Agra protect Society from criminals I know you know this and then you also have played by fpj in the past Coco Martin I think I think they know this already sir yeah [Laughter] good job guys good job okay next these are the clues guys the tribute District 12. primrose mockingjay pin Peter millark and Bo and arrow who could this be all right guys Guess the Character is this character come on guys come on somebody said Coco Martin and Coco melon Coco Martin yeah and Sir DJ hi sir DJ said cardo Hydra ulics Lord of the Rings actually not Lord of the Rings guys nothing answered Katniss ever did Sir wow nestlein you are one to watch you are so good Cantonese Everdeen is the correct answer okay this is the last one sir Jerry can you help us with this please okay sir your Clues are orphan superhuman stress but it is you also have Valentina and then ding ding ding Ang battle okay what do you guys think okay it's uh Sam answered Wonder Woman but actually yes uh the correct answer is Darna Darna yes a quick reveal a while ago sir I know I'm so sure guys I got really excited yes okay so these are all marvelous and memorable characters from our from comic books from fiction from uh from uh what I call this from pop culture nowadays so it's absolutely 38 that's true and so right now God right now uh before we discuss about poetry today we will now move to fiction okay now yes before we discuss uh about fiction I want you guys to type down any kind of word or phrase that comes to your mind when you hear the word fiction all right okay can I see some answers there please okay comment down your answers please yes fiction uh is this uh what I call this fiction what is fiction guys help us according to Aubrey sir yes imagination imagination great answer Enrico also answered non-realistic oh amazing answer by the way Enrico hello I'm a Nova Happy Teachers Day too Happy Teachers Day two day soon imagination we're sharing me too Eliza answered fantasy fantasy yes and uh Edison said non-real realistic yeah it's DJ sir DJ said two surfaces in contact that's friction well thank you guys so sir Jerry tell us what is fiction okay so these are the words that could be associated with fiction first it it's generally uh General narrative in form it's not based on history or fact it's a written narratives in prose uh specifically novels and short stories circuit and then consisting of people events or people that are imaginary actually the their answers a while ago are correct it's Pure Imagination and then can be out of the real world and then the last one is literature created from imagination those are the word circuits that's amazing uh actually sir Jerry all of the answers uh from our students were all correct yes definition is basically yes anything uh that is a product of your imagination but usually in this case since it's creative writing it's literature and any kind of texts that are uh imaginary uh or kind of like yeah fantasy right yes and actually sir Jerry we have enjoyed fiction for for a long long uh time now yes sir we are bombarded actually by fiction but then of course we are enjoying the the reading processes that we are uh having with that's Teresa or Jerry all right so moving on now guys we will be focusing today on character characters all right sir Jerry so all right can you help us with this activity sir Jerry yeah you again you will be undergoing another activity I hope you like it and this one is stirring the characters so you are going to describe the personalities of the following characters in fiction based on their respective roles I hope that all right I hope hopefully our examples we're not too old for these examples yes okay anyways first it's Valentina yeah hmm it could also be Associated Sir with Medusa if they are found in Reading Greek mythologies yes sure that's actually correct it's actually Valentina is it's like the Filipino equivalent of yeah Medusa yeah all right but guys what do you think is valentina's role in uh in in the Darna Universe yeah in the darn Universe what do you think is her characteristic the three is she good let's read some of it yeah fears according to Edison Fierce yeah [Laughter] answered also villain yeah villain villain they've answered Seducer wow yeah are all correct answers and these are all correct guys yeah thank you yeah we will be learning more about this uh later on right sir Jerry people kind of like that DJ said sir DJ Peter okay [Laughter] our next sample sir is the proof that we're not that old yeah actually it's yes sir so our next character is froze uh a character in the movie Frozen it's Elsa very good yeah what do you think is the character trait of Elsa based on the movie I hope now hopefully sir [Laughter] she has uh some kind of power yeah protagonist according to lean independent woman according to Disney a queen said Sarah Jane gallutera Queen yes Supernatural according to this powerful said Aubry uh did you notice her Jerry that Elsa is actually the quite the opposite of Valentina in terms of how our students described her right definitely sir yeah true definitely uh another sister according to the other one and she doesn't want to build a snowman next one sir picture three we have Loki what about Loki yeah is he bad is he good yes what do you guys think cool according to Noli yes he is he is pretty cool right yes said something about Elsa that I think it's really good she's different from other Disney Princesses because she doesn't need a prince yes yeah according to manilyn Loki is a demon this is a dirty pad yeah in Norse mythology Loki is generally a trickster but this is it doesn't really necessarily make him like a villain or a bad person this is when we kind of like question if it's Loki really good or is he bad is actually charming and it just seems to be unpredictable that's true is he a protagonist though we will see okay yes thank you guys for participating thank you thank you okay so why we focus today why do we focus today on on characters why because characters is basically essential for uh for any readers to know in fiction when there are no characters there's no story there's no actors in the Big stage uh that is fiction so remember that literary they drop the action so they perform the action and the conflict the experience the conflict they solve the conflict and basically they create a reason for a story to existence yes yeah definitely who is your favorite character in in fiction my favorite character is actually Zeus Zeus nice I love to actually read uh Greek mythology since we are English Majors said Greek mythology stories but then they are actually good circuit that's true sir Jerry and I think mythology no we can still see them in pop cultures actually they are already producing a lot of movies about the Greek mythologies and they are actually exciting true what about you guys uh who are your favorite characters in in fiction and books in comic books in uh in movies can you can you type down your your answers in the comments section and we'll we'll see uh we'll we'll read them yes because you're doing the same thing later on in our Channel [Music] our session Jerry so let's proceed yes okay so sir Jerry can you introduce us to the first type of character that we can find in fiction okay so your first type of uh character is the protagonist it's actually the main character who is the focus of action in the story and circuit it's the readers usually empathize to it and root for uh in the a certain story actually for example if when we are watching a movie and then we're trying to protect that certain character actually your character is the protagonist you must be kid that's true sir Jerry so so basically we kind of like root for and hope that he succeeds yeah guys mind this a protagonist is not necessarily just good sometimes a protagonist could also be evil so basically a protagonist is a neutral character and we see we see that uh character grow and progress throughout the story okay right yes sir so we have the following the following examples of uh protagonist circuit uh Peter Pan you know Harry Potter we have also uh Percy Jackson yeah Percy Jackson actually yes sir uh somehow marame regards your question a while ago with yes their favorite characters what did he say Iron Man Iron Man Jocelyn Ramos said uh her favorite character is Medusa because uh she said pretty words aren't true and true words aren't pretty that's a pretty good uh good like line for a for a character yes sir kid nice to see all right okay so the the opposite of the protagonist is what we call an antagonist okay yes an antagonist is a character who opposes the protagonist meaning the antagonist goes against the protagonist remember guys the protagonist always has a desire always has a goal or an aim and a story The antagonists create some kind of like a block so that the protagonist will not reach that goal protagonist yes that's true sir and the classic uh antagonists are usually villains humongous bad guys right sir Jerry antagonist or villain a villain Loki is one of my favorite antagonists oh no honey okay sure so some examples here guys could be Darth Vader right although later on he becomes like a a sympathetic character also the witch from uh from Snow White and Joker Joker uh which is also another sympathetic uh antagonist for bad news right okay yeah we only have 10 minutes search kids that's true okay let's let's try to to do all this okay go ahead sir Jerry dynamic characters we have characters that go through some sort of chains protagonists are usually dynamic characters that's true yes so uh usually guys a dynamic character is someone who changes right so so for example if the protagonist uh is has a weakness in the beginning by the end he has to learn something that enabled him to kind of overcome that weakness or that uh that kind of flaw right so Dynamics uh if if he changes or she changes yeah based on the experiences that's true we also have Shrek he's actually a dynamic character because there are times that he becomes softer softer and lets people come in his life I know you have a background about this circuit that's true uh Shrek was actually you know guys Shrek is an ogre and ogres are usually uh like the villains in in a story they like eat people right kind of like that but so Shrek is kind of like a it's it's a very good movie Just because it kind of flips the script and and puts Shrek in the protagonist role and then supposedly he is like a a bad guy stereotypically but then throughout the story he was he he overcame his uh selfishness all of his like bad things and he became a hero right so it's it's a nice yes dynamic man hi next are static characters this these are characters are the opposite of dynamic characters they don't undergo that much change in the story they just stay the same basically uh for example uh these are characters who stay stay evil the whole time or stay good the whole time they don't really the same the stepmother of uh Cinderella and stepsisters that's true I usually sir Jerry know yo mama supporting roles they are usually uh what I call this uh static characters those characters yes sir they fought under uh static characters actually yes now moving on we have the round characters these are fully developed figures in the story they are complex and show that in terms of Personality who are the examples are here so there's a sample here for Gary is uh chrysostomo Ibarra do you know him sir Jerry it's a writer actually uh really ah no it's a character related to Jose Rizal yes yeah kind of like nope yeah but um and we can actually see see him like very well-rounded no uh he is well developed we we really know what's happening to well he is good at the beginning and then uh slowly slowly because of his experiences uh he he changes we get to know him like personally throughout the story and so that makes him a very round character character yesterday we also have sir we have now flat characters these are characters that demonstrate just a very few traits so uh flood characters guys are usually just there for a decoration usually all right yeah we have scar which is really good too he stays evil the entire time he he's just like one one note right yes sure but yeah what character is usually function to provide additional context to the setting right yes okay okay so this one this actually see only uh related to our challenge for the weeks or the week yeah yeah today guys so that we could uh they could actually do the challenge guide you can have your screenshots guys later on that's a very good idea sir Jerry yeah English classes character right you have you had to build your own character yeah what was your character my character is actually uh somewhat an introverted [Music] socialize because um opposite real later yeah mine was actually a little bit introvert too okay yeah Believe It or Not guys uh your characters that you create in in fiction and creative writing are actually most likely related to real life too yeah yeah sir okay so it could be yourself it could be people you know so in building your character guys you need to make your characters believable and human no so uh your character should not be just good good good good good or just bad bad yes if they're good they need to have a weakness sir no they need to have a flaw yes sir definitely if they're bad they need to have a redeemable uh quality yeah we're not perfect anyway sure you know uh that's when your character becomes more relatable they should be well developed and well-rounded especially your protagonists and antagonists so how do we do that you need to ask these questions when you build your own character yes what does your character look like I mean favorite shirt yeah favorite color yeah oh my goodness sure uh yeah what is the next question sir what is your character's motivation or desire and then uh what the short characters flow so and then what is his or her weakness his flock yeah so just an example this is a character we created for you guys you can screenshot this this Anna she has shoulder length wavy hair that's what she looks like she loves her brown cardigan her mom gave her and we're on top of this white blouses she can't start her online class without a cup of Swiss Miss with five piece of marshmallows that's personality she's a grade 12 student who falls asleep on her modules can you read the next uh paragraphs or Jerry yeah sure sir she's easy going but a nervous wreck during recitations she bites her nails during open time sessions with her desk she is insecure of her eyebrows and would hide it with her hair she wants to talk to the cute guy in her Section but never does it because we're uh because well well it would never happen she always thinks so she pours all her love to Bob her cat sound like a real character to you sir Jerry yeah actually yes sir Keith uh sounds uh maybe similar to those people those are our senior high school learners actually yeah so when you build your own character guys you can base it on real characters your mom your dad your friend yeah and then you could combine their uh their qualities and make your own character yeah this is actually a good diet for them circuit I know it's your own creation Yeah Anna is just fiction okay so sir Jerry maybe we will have to skip this or Jerry just because it's about time yes sir that's true it's crazy but we will now go to uh uh oh sorry let's do the challenge guys yeah okay I would like to reiterate the challenge so that you will have something to do uh during weekends and then you could pass it to us through or via each like creative writing hashtags yes create your own fictional character guys write one or two paragraphs describing your character just like what we did with Anna yeah and then this sign and accessorize her character make us love your character send your paragraphs uh post your paragraphs with your picture or maybe a drawing of your character if you if you want to and then use hashtag ether like creative writing and you may be featured next week for our duties of the week yes sir I will definitely post it in my Facebook account and in my my days and I will be tagging you sir thank you sir okay sir kid uh it's been a good day I hope that everyone was able to uh learn from us today circuit and of course I know you would like them to uh have the certain code from Samuel Smiles yes sir character is one of the greatest motive powers in the world and it's Nobles embodiments it exemplifies human nature in its highest form for exhibits mandate its best so guys you are your the protagonist in your own life story you're also around character that's why you have flaws you have weaknesses and that's okay that what that's what makes you a Bida right but then you need to be dynamic you need to always seek to improve don't just be a flat character be around be dynamic be a protagonist all right guys thank you so much for your interaction your interactive participation hello Happy Teachers Day Happy Teachers Day everyone and see you guys next week yeah see you again next week thank you thank you thank you goodbye
