fire. Hallelujah. I love that song. I can hear the sound of dry bones rattling from the book of Ezekiel. And he said, I saw dry bones. And the Lord asked Ezekiel, can these dry bones live? And Ezekiel said, Lord, you know. What does God know? What does God know that we may not know? What does God know that we're still debating about? What does God know that we haven't believed? What does God know that we don't understand? When you make a connection between what God knows and what we don't know, and you fix that, and you get aligned with God, now you know what God knows. The Bible was written that we may know what God knows. The Bible was written that we may know what God knows. The Bible was given to us that we may know what our father knows so we'd be in agreement with him. Amen. And your whole life you're going to have to wrestle and I'm going to have to wrestle through a a wide variety of things that people say that they think God knows. Thank you. But it is not about what God It's not about what we think God knows. It's about what he knows. Amen. Amen. This is where you move from theory of religion of men into the realm of blessing and into the realm of the supernatural. Hallelujah. Now, there's a lot of debate about the supernatural. The world is hungry for the supernatural, but usually it's seeking evil. It's seeking uh counterfeit power. It's seeking all kinds of witchcraft and darkness and all kinds of evil. And so, when you say the word supernatural, people are often thinking about something bad. In fact, inside of church circles, it's often frowned upon like, "Oh, we're not like that." I want you to understand that God is who God is. God cannot stop being who he is. He is faithful and he cannot deny himself. Amen. He is faithful and what? He cannot deny himself. He's faithful and he what? Cannot deny himself. He cannot He cannot deny himself. You know, a lot of people they they learned when they were little children that God can do anything. It's not true. Now, that is not a limiting factor of God. That is a declaration of his awe. He cannot deny himself. You just said it. The Bible says he cannot deny himself. You know what else? He cannot lie. God cannot lie. Do you know something else? God cannot be tempted with evil. That's right. So when the Bible says that all things are possible for God, it's in the context of righteousness. It's in the context of glory. It's not in the context of evil. You will not get good and bad from God. You will only get good. God is good and the devil is not. It's so clear. There's no in between. God is light and in him what? You must understand therefore that this world is filled with darkness. Jesus said, "I am what? I am the light of the world. He who follows after me will not walk in darkness, but whatever have what? Have ever life life." That's why it doesn't matter how holy something may look. If it isn't filled with life, saturated with life, overwhelmed with life, it isn't God. Amen. Death is the absence of him. That's right. So Christianity is therefore absolutely assuredly without any doubt supernatural. Why? Because that is who God is. From the very beginning. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. He created He created the supernatural. What does that mean? It means that there's an activity. There is a realm that is not earth. Earth is a tiny small minuscule if you will. little tiny created thing that's called the natural. It's this tiny tiny thing. Even the universe of planets is tiny. Science can't even find the end of it. Scientists are in awe of of the of the many light years that they can't find the end of it. And it's still tiny because it's still the natural realm. The other realm, the supernatural realm, literally translated, just means it's higher than the natural. It isn't weird. It's so foreign to the American church. Why? Because the American church is often so natural. If you cannot listen, if you gather with God and nothing ever happens in that gathering beyond what man can do, I question if God is there. Because in the Bible, where God shows up, God does God's stuff. And God's stuff is higher than man's stuff. Oh, hallelujah. Did you know that the Bible says that God is spirit? And those who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth. So while our minds are in the natural stuff, God is in the heavenlies. That's right. Now, if you are saved, you are forgiven, you are you are made new in Jesus. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. When you go to the doctor and the doctor says, "You have this problem." You could say, "Doctor, that's a natural problem. That's a dust problem. Yeah, that that that's not a big problem. No, no, no, no, no. Big problem is when you're lost in your sin. Big problem is when you'll spend eternity separated from God. Dust problem. No big problem. That's a big problem to people who are stuck in the natural realm. God is spirit. Why do you think that Jesus Christ was able to walk on water in Matthew 14? Because he's above all natural law. He's above gravity. He's above everything. When Peter said, "Lord, call me out. Command me to come," he wasn't just proximity. It was command me to leave the realm of the natural. And let me walk in the supernatural. If you think that the supernatural is weird in the Christian's life, then you must think God is weird. You must extend your logic into that because God is the one who showed dreams to Abraham. God is the one who showed a vision to Jacob. God is the one who sent Gabriel, a angel in the spirit realm to announce Jesus's birth in Mary. It is God who sent dreams to Joseph. It is God who split the Red Sea in Exodus. It is God who raises the dead. Though they were dead for four days like Lazarus, it is God all throughout. But this God is not worshiped. They worship gods of stone and brick and gold. If you are to worship God, you must realize that he and he alone is above all that is natural. Amen. This is why the Holy Spirit has become a side doctrine because the Holy Spirit is supernatural. That's the spirit of God. He's not a doctrine. He's a person. Amen. He's the the third part of the triune God. But when you speak about the Holy Spirit, the church has tried to naturalize him. Let's make him natural. Let's let's tame him and and and and let's just, you know, have everything kind of like neat and nice. When the Holy Spirit comes, fire isn't isn't tamed. Fire. fire and is often flame as as flames of fire in in the day of we're going to read in the day of Pentecost. It it's not something you tame. That's right. You see, but people get afraid. Why? Because there's a lot of error and there's a lot of abuse and there's a lot of imbalance and there's a lot of mixture. Okay, all that may be true, but guess what? That was never God. Amen. And so if you're going to be a Christian, then you need to listen, not only become recreated in the spirit, born again in the spirit, you must check this out, live in the spirit. That's a supernatural life. To live in the spirit. People say, "What's that mean?" That's how fresh we are to the understanding of the normal Christian life. A lot of you may come and go, listen to me speak, go home, and not really dig into the word, not hunger after the things of the spirit, and then you'll come back next week as dry as before. That's right. And things don't move. The the Bible describes those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, they shall be what? Filled. I listen I I I love that God is blessing some congregations with with 20 25,000 people gathering in stadiums. But I want to tell you something that if the Holy Spirit and if the the presence the supernatural presence of God is not what is attracting people, I ask what is what is attracting you? Is it the music? Is it the beat? Is it the media? Is it the building? One good thing about this building is that it has no bathrooms in it. And and and if it rains and if it's cold, you got to put your jacket on and and take your children out and and and and go outside. The air conditioning works, but not that great on some days. I love it. Sometimes we must realize we're here for God. We're here because we're hungry for God. By the way, if you to see some of the mega churches in other countries, they'd say, "My goodness, your sanctuary is so rich." I've been in churches overseas. You've seen them, too. It's palletwood for walls, right? They took me to the bathroom. I went into the bathroom. They said, "How do you use this? How do you What do you do here? How does this work? Do you know this isn't a toilet? I mean, I I don't understand what this is. You know, running water is a luxury. Do you want to hear about their social media campaign in Africa? We heard this. A missionary came with a with an African leader and there's an open field, wide open field, and uh he had a white plastic chair in in the in the pickup. Nobody around. He takes the chair out and he puts the chair in the ground. There's nobody around. It's just a big open field. So the missionary says, "Where is everybody?" He says, "Just wait." He says, "What do you mean?" He said, "Just wait." One by one, people become coming coming out of the bush. One by one, next thing you know, it's filled. The whole field is filled because he put a chair out. Jesus. I want you to understand that if you want to live the Christian life, you have got to live with what God provided for the Christian life. And he didn't provide media. He didn't provide money. He didn't provide social media and technology. He provided something greater, something deeper. He provided his very own spirit. You see, if he makes you alive, you got to live according to that life. And that life isn't you and me. Amen. You see, a lot of people try to obey God with their strength. Yeah. Let let me know how that's going. Yeah. Because because when you do that, you're going to find failure after failure after failure after failure. Then you're going to feel like a failure. You're not a failure. You're just doing it with a wrong way. Amen. Uh has anybody ever seen new Corvettes, Ferraris, Maseratis, you know, like those track cars? Anybody? Some of you guys got to live. Fast cars, you know, the clearance is like just a few inches from the ground. Amazing engines. I I I mean, just amazing. They go fast, you know, few hundred horsepower in this thing. It's just it's just like amazing, right? And everybody says, "I want one of those, but I I I I need you. I need you to understand this. If if if you're going to get in that in that sports car and you're like, "Wow, this is an amazing design. This is pretty. This is powerful. This is amazing. I just, you know, Yeah. I I saw a $600,000 car the other day. No, it wasn't mine. I saw I saw a $600,000 car. But listen, if if if if you think I'm I'm so great. I'm so glad that I have this car. only you drive a few minutes and you realize you have to take it off road and you have to drive it through rough rocky terrain. All of a sudden, you realize I have something so celebrated by people that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's like you're driving a house. That's true. Only to realize you invested in the wrong design. Yeah. And you cannot go where you're called to go because the car can't go off-road. As soon as you realize you need to go off road, your investment was worthless. In very much the same way, this earth is moved by Saul type thinking. He was the first human king of Israel. He was tall and he was handsome and they thought that he was going to bring victory to Israel. He would bring every why because look at him. He's great. Only the design was wrong. Because King Saul's heart was not fully broken and poured out to God. And when tough times came, you needed faith, not good looks. You needed faith, not being pretty. You needed God's power, not being tall. When the nation of Israel found themselves, Hallelujah. when they found themselves uh facing the Philistines, a big army, and there was a big guy in the big army called Goliath. Yes. And the nation of Israel is all dressed up and they're there with all their armor and with all their weapons and and and King Saul is there and and they're all waiting. And the Bible says that they were they were on the battlefield like they were on the line. Nobody stepped into battle. Things change when you now realize that life presents battles. I've never heard of somebody in the in the miracles of the history of the church say, "Give me a bigger media screen. Give me a louder music." I'm not saying these things are bad. I'd love to have one of those big jobs that takes up the whole wall. Everybody can see the lyrics and the verses. That's fine, but it will not be our reliance and that will not be what we're going to seek. But unfortunately, people are doing it because they think that that natural stuff equals what they need. No, what you need is is a different kind of life. Not Saul. And so Saul is there. And you know what? Saul is king. Saul is supposed to be going on the battlefield. Saul is supposed to be dealing with Goliath. Saul is supposed to be instilling courage and strength in the nation of Israel. But no, it was the cheese guy. You say, "Who's the cheese guy?" David. David. David. David. He was a shepherd. He was the youngest boy in his family. And my my my goodness, do you know what he did? He brought the cheese. His dad sent him to bring supplies to the battlefield. Turn with me to 1st Samuel uh chapter 16. And I want you to see because so many of you think that you're lacking. So many of you think that you don't have. But the things that you're seeking and the things that you're grieving that you don't have are not what you need. What you need is what David had. Hallelujah. What you need and what I need is what God purposed to give to his people. and this thing that we need to live this life. Oh my goodness, when you start learning about the Holy Spirit, you're going to say, "There's not one gift, there's not two gifts, there's not three, there's nine gifts of the spirit." And my goodness, they're just nine descriptions of things that are limitless in their understanding. Oh my my my. Oh, we need the Holy Spirit. We need the Holy Spirit. You can keep the Maserati. Give me an old clunker that that that nobody wants. But if it enables me to rely on God, Jesus, hallelujah, I'll wind up with power and excellence and everything that's needed. People think that they need a a fancy job to make a lot of money. You need a you need a fancy job to make a lot of money. That's wrong thinking. That's right. You need God to release favor upon your life. There are people who are less smart than you, believe it or not. There are people who are less smart than you. There's people who are smarter than you. Believe it or not, and some of those people who are less smart, less educated, get an idea for an invention, they become a billionaire. Favor is working on their lives. Other people work and die from stress because they they were trying to make it happen in their own energy. 1 Samuel chapter 16. Oh, I hope you get zealous and that you get excited for the provision of God. Somebody say out loud, I need the supernatural power of God. I need the supernatural power of God. Verse number one of chapter 16 in 1 Samuel. Now the Lord said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel?" Oh my my my. God could not tolerate a leader who didn't rely on him. I mean, that's convicting for me, too. But Saul had a half heart. And we got to change and we've got to be the kind of people that will rely upon God. God says to Samuel, who's a prophet, "Fill your horn with oil." That they actually took ram's horns and filled them physically with oil. And and he says, "Go. I am sending you to Jesse the Bethamalite, for I have provided myself a king among his sons. I have provided myself a king among his sons. And Samuel said, "How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me." But the Lord said, "Oh, by the way, oh, there's so much in text. Don't be afraid of people God has rejected. My gosh, that's a side note. The church should be the filled with the boldest people on earth, not afraid people, but the Lord said, "Take a heer with you and say, I have come to sacrifice to the Lord." He gives him instructions. And then it comes down to um verse number six. They came they come together at Jesse's house. So it was when they came that he looked at Elab and said, "Surely the Lord's anointed is before him." Do you hear it? The Lord's what? Anointed. The one that God is going to empower. Saul is gone. He's rejected. He's He's not approved by God any longer. God sends Samuel. And what's Samuel doing? He's looking at the natural. The prophet who's hearing the supernatural God is assessing the next king based on natural features. But the Lord said to him in verse seven, "Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature because I have refused him." The key is not whether somebody is attractive in this life. It's whether they've been accepted by God. And it is not about their natural ability. It is about the supernatural ability of God. And I have taught you here that God uses the foolish things of the earth. God is filling children. He's filling children. And children are prophesying in the world. Children and and we think we need to go to more Bible college. We need to study to show ourselves approved. But study is even that is not the pathway into greatness for God. Because when you study without the anointing, then your study is futile. Verse number seven, do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see a man as a man sees. For man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the what? Hallelujah. I want you to remember that verse. I want you to write it down. Circle it. Put it somewhere because it is a key to understanding even how to flow in the anointing. So Jesse called Amidadab and made him pass before Samuel. He said, "Neither has the Lord chosen this one." Then Jesse made Shama pass by, and he said, "Neither has the Lord chosen this one." Thus Jesse made seven of his sons passed before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, "The Lord has not chosen these." And Samuel said to Jesse, "Are all the young men here?" Then he said, "There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep. Many of you know this history. I'm only bringing it out to highlight, not do an in-depth teaching, but to simply tell you that David's own dad didn't even call him to the meeting. David's own natural dad didn't even take the time to release him from his service to say there's a prophet in the house. He was that looked upon that even his own dad said we just we don't even he's definitely not the one. You may find in your life that people have spoken to you all your life. You may find that you have been put down, that you don't have the money, you don't have the car, you don't have the job, you don't have the experience, you don't have all that stuff, and you feel lesser. God's eye is on you. God's eye is on you when people are not looking at you. Ah, somebody needs to hear it again. God's eye is on the sparrow. God's eye has has seen you and has heard you. And God is moved not by the things that move the earth. He's moved by what? The heart. And Jesse didn't even value what was in David's heart. David Jesse, his dad didn't even understand nor appreciate his son. But there's something about God that he says, "I'm going to demonstrate. I am going to demonstrate through the weak one, the young one, but I see his heart. He may be the youngest, but his heart's the strongest. He may be the smallest, but his heart's the biggest. Oh, if we would get this, we we would no longer look for our names and lights. Oh, if we would get this, we would no longer seek the things that we're seeking. And my goodness, what freedom we'll have. Hallelujah. There's a song that says, "You could have the whole world." Just give me Jesus. Just give me Jesus. Well, there he is keeping the sheep. And Samuel said to Jesse, "Send and bring him, for we will not sit down till he comes here." So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy with bright eyes and good-looking. And the Lord said, could you, you know, you just get a picture of like Dave walking like, "What's up, guys?" You know, and the Lord said, "Arise." And what does it say? Anoint him. Anoint him. You know, there was only one in the whole family that God's eye was on. Wow. Maybe that's you in your family. Maybe you're like, I feel like an outcast in the field when they're all accepted. Maybe you're the Davididic picture that God is looking for for your family. Maybe you're a Joseph cast down into a pit. And God's going to lift you up. Did Joseph become the second in command in all of Egypt because he was smart? He had good SAT scores. That's why. No. Oh, he got into an Ivy League school. No. It's because of God's call on their life. And the Lord said, "Arise, anoint him, for this is the one." Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And look what happens next. The spirit of the Lord came upon David that day forward. That day forward the spirit of the Lord. How many Holy Spirits are there? One. The same spirit that was hovering over the waters in Genesis chapter 1 is the same spirit that God is anointing David with. My goodness, we're in the Old Testament. We're in the Old Testament. The principle God is showing when my spirit anoints an ordinary, disrespected, never considered, too young to know anything young man. It'll change everything. It'll change his life. It changes his whole family's life. It changes the nation's life. It's changed the world's life. It changes our life. Because one man was anointed. But we seek money more than the anointing. You know my fancy word for that, right? That's being stupid, right? That's doing stupid. We have not valued what Christ died for on the cross. Amen. All right. So, so Samuel arose and went to Rama. Let's keep going. But the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him. Okay? A distressing spirit like a demon. Okay? Unclean. And Saul's servant said to him, "Surely a distressing spirit from God is troubling you. Let our master now command your servants who are before you to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the heart." Yep. He was looking for a worshipper. And it shall be that he will play it with his hand when the distressing spirit from God is upon you and you shall be well. That seems very strange. Play an instrument and then the distressing spirit will depart. What? What do they know? Why would they say that? So Saul said to his servants, "Provide me now a man who can play well and bring him to me." Then one of the servants answered and said, 'Look, I have seen a son of Jesse, the Bethamalite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of what? A man of wait, what? A man of war. What battle did he fight? What mighty exploits did he perform? Oh my I'm not saying it's the same thing, but there is an authority that comes upon you when God's anointing is with you. Yes. Do you know how many times people think I'm in the military? How many places I go and they thought that I'm in the military? Do you know how many times I'm in a store and I'm looking at a product and they ask me for where the product is and what aisle stuff's in and you know how I said I don't work here. I haven't been in the military. It's it it's it's funny. People think that I'm sometimes in charge. I'm like sir, I'm ordering bacon and eggs. I I'm not here for that. No. Has it happened to any of you that the favor of God that there's a recognition of God's anointing? This is not me. This is not me. Bo, this is God that many times it happens to people who are walking in the authority of God. Very true. Why do they think he's a man of war? Because there's an anointing with him. And he heard the sound of the of of of the of the man play. Prudent in speech and a handsome person. and the Lord is with him. Therefore, Saul sent messengers to Jesse and David and send me your son David who is with the sheep. There he is again. He's anointed and Jesse sends back in sends him back into the sheep field. Can I tell you, don't be surprised when the anointing comes upon you if you find yourself in the same job. Okay. Um, we have to live practical lives. And David went back to work. Okay. But now he's taking care of those sheep as an anointed man. Now, now he's not asking for speaking engagements. He's not asking for anything. He's not asking to be great. He's just keeping the sheep. But he's anointed. And they recognize that he's a man of war, a man of valor. Some testimony. Something must have happened. Something they saw that's different. Something. They're talking about a shepherd. Guys, shepherds are not men of war. Shepherds are not mighty men of valor. You got to understand this language doesn't seem to fit his natural job. Smith Wigglesworth was a plumber. Come on. your natural state in life, your natural job is not the thing that's going to cause greatness to come. It says here uh they send your son David who is with the sheep. Verse 20, "And Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine, and a young goat, and sent him by his son David to Saul." So David came to Saul and stood before him, and he loved him greatly, and he became his armor bearer. Wow. He's now carrying the king's armor. Little promotion, wouldn't you say? Then Saul sent to Jesse, saying, "Please let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight." And so it was whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well and the spirit would depart from him. Why? Because of the anointing. Now the Philistines gathered their armies together to battle and were gathered at Soo which belongs to Judah. They encamped between Soo and Azeka in Ephas Damon. And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together. And they encamped in the valley of El and drew up in battle array against the Philistines. The Philistines stood on a mountain on one side and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side with a valley between them. And the champion went out from the camp of the Philistines named Goliath from Gath whose height was six cubits in a span. And the rest of the text describes how big and mighty Goliath is. Now the Bible says that David was sent to find out how the sons are doing. Verse 13, the three oldest sons of Jesse had gone to follow Saul to the battle. And it goes through the names and it says there uh that verse 15 now, but David occasionally went and returned from Saul to feed his father's sheep in Bethlehem. So he's going back and forth. Verse 16, excuse me. And the Philistine drew near and presented himself 40 days, morning and evening. Then Jesse said to his son David, "Take now for your brothers in an epha of this dried grain and these 10 loaves and run to your brothers at camp and carry these 10 cheeses to the captain of their thousand and see how your brothers fare and bring back news from them." He's a delivery boy. He's a messenger boy. There's two realities going on. The one is the way David is perceived by his family and other people that may have been immediately around him who he grew up with. There's another testimony of people who have seen him and heard him and say he's a man of good speech, a man of valor, a man whose God's favor is upon. Do you see these two? Let me describe it this way. One is in the natural and one is because of the supernatural. Amen. You have an identity in the natural and you have an identity in the supernatural. And if you don't know your identity in the supernatural, you may live according to your identity in the natural. And then you're going to think, I can't do that. I can't have that. Oh, the Holy Spirit won't come upon me. No, you'll be living a lie and you'll be going to church and going home for the next 25 to 50 years and nothing is going to change. Or you can awaken up and say, "God through his mercy has decided to give me favor, grace, power, anointing, and it's going to change my life. It's going to change my family's life, going to change the church's life, going to change everything." And you may not know this, but there's a setup happening on the earth where all the kingdoms of the world look like they're prospering. Everything looks like it's don't need God until the day of battle. Until the day of battle. Until you need him. Verse 20. So David rose early in the morning, left the sheep with the keeper, and took the things, and went as Jesse had commanded him. And he came to the camp as the army was going out to the fight and shouting for the battle. For Israel and the Philistines had drawn up in battle array, army against army, and David left the supplies in the hand of the supply keeper, ran to the army, and came and greeted his brothers. Did you hear what happened? There was shouting. There was battle announcement. Okay, it's time. H, a lot of noise. A lot of a lot a lot of activity. Don't be deceived. Just because you go to church and there's a lot of noise doesn't mean anything. Just because people get dropped dressed up and there's a lot of people doesn't mean anything. Oh Jesus. 40 days Goliath is taunting the army. 40 days they got dressed. 40 days they shouted. 40 days it's time to go to battle. And nobody fought. Why do you think nobody fought? They dressed up and there was no power. There was no power. There's no anointing. There's no favor. But there's a lot of noise. Look at how good we are. Let us never esteem judgment according to our own eyes. But let us use the word to assess whether we're weak or whether we're strong. That is necessary in this life. And you will see that God says your weakness is the better thing. Come on. Come on. The your weakness is a healthier position because your weakness is where my strength will be perfected. Some people teach that Paul had a thorn in his flesh and and he was sick and God said he wouldn't heal him. I simply ask in humility just read the text. It doesn't say he was sick. And the text has nothing to do with healing. The text has nothing to do with God wanting him to be weak. The text has everything to do with God wanting him to be weak in his own strength. Read the text. He says, "My strength is what? Perfected in your weakness." God wasn't wanting him weak. God was wanting him strong, but God wanted him God strong, not man strong. Hallelujah. Oh, hallelujah. How people have misunderstood that text because it's mistaught and misrepresented. God didn't say no. God said, "My grace is sufficient." But people hear that and they think, "Oh, yeah." See, God said, "No." Did you read about God's grace? God's grace isn't, "I'm going to let you hold on, Paul." Paul's ministry was that of power, and Paul went through a lot of suffering, and the grace of God enabled him to to prevail in that suffering. But this is the man who said, "I'm more than conqueror because he loves me." This wasn't a, "Oh, I hope I can make it kind of guy." This was a I discovered the secret. Hallelujah. All hell may be breaking loose around my life, but I discovered that it's his grace that enabled me to enter in from natural to supernatural strength. Thank you, Lord. So if you want God sometimes to take away every problem, you could look at the text and say God doesn't often just poof take away problems. God's a good trainer. God says in your weakness I'll show you how to rely on me and you will listen not run from Goliath. You'll overcome Goliath. But it's going to be because of the anointing. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. This stuff will make a man want to preach. It'll make the shy want to become a preacher because you begin to see the pathway that God does not honor man the way man honors man. That's right. That's right. The Bible says here that he brings the supplies. It says here in verse number 23, "Then as he talked with them, there was the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, coming out from the armies of the Philistines, and he spoke according to the same words." So David heard them. Stop there. So David heard them. So David what? Heard. David heard them. What does the Bible say? David heard them. But I want you to understand, it wasn't the shepherd who heard them. It wasn't the boy who was discounted by his own dad. It wasn't the boy who was ridiculed by his own brothers. It was David, the anointed king. The anoint Oh, you you you say, "But he he's not king yet." Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. He already chosen by God. You say, "But he doesn't have any position." Yes, he does. Just other people in the natural don't know it. But in the spirit, God said, "That's my chosen vessel. That's my chosen one. I've chosen him to be king. And you know what else? And you got to grab this. He wasn't reserved for man. Come on. You read with me that God said, "I have chosen for myself a king over my people." If you want the anointing, you got to die to self. You want the anointing, you got to die to every dream and everything that you've ever wanted to work for and present yourself to God. And God says, "I want to know. Am I anointing you for you?" Or am I anointing you for me? Hallelujah. This is the secret. The Holy Spirit is going to be poured out today if you and I would get in the right posture. If you want to be like Saul, you keep praying for the spirit. We'll see how that goes. I'll talk to you in 10 years. You want to be humble before God. God will breathe upon you and fill you today. You have faith in him. You want to serve him. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Oh, David heard him. David heard them. The anointed ear heard the words. The the the anoint listen the anointing. Many of us who operate in the anointing experiences, you may feel tired in the natural. You may feel down in the natural. You may like Pastor Pat travel for 25 hours on a plane, whatever she did, and be like physically, how are we going to do this? Next thing you know, you begin to pray. You have a lot of energy. The anointing is doing it. The anointing is doing it. So God put his anointing in David. And what does he hear? He hears the taunts of the army. Verse 24. And all the men of Israel when they saw the man fled from him and were dreadfully afraid. Why were they afraid? No anointing. Guys, come on. Let's let's just think practically that Goliath's big. It was reasonable to run. There's no way that they could fight him and overcome the champion. It wasn't because David was strong in the natural. It's because he was anointed. So the men of Israel said, "Have you seen this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel. And it shall be that the man who kills the kills him, the king will enrich with great riches will give him his daughter and give his father's house exemption from taxes in Israel. I just think it's funny they were still dealing with the IRS back then. And David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, "What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? What is his motivation? He isn't just thinking about himself. He's thinking about the reproach on Israel. For who is this uncircumcised Philistine? Do you know what I believe? I believe that the anointing helped David to have discernment in the natural. This guy looks strong. This guy's uncircumcised. That's covenanted or covenantal language. Do you know what he was saying? This guy may be big, but he ain't got no covering, no connection, no protection from God. This big guy is nothing but a big target. He's got no He's got nothing. Who is this uncircumcised Philistine? They're talking about how big he is. David's putting him down from the get-go. And he's not putting him down as an insult. He's putting him down in his rightful place. Like, who's this guy that doesn't have one covenant? You think your sickness has covenant? You have covenant. You and I have covenant. Hallelujah. The tumor has no covenant. That's right. Come on. Jesus, the anointing will enable you to see through things and you're saying, "They're all afraid. I'm hungry for victory." He's a man of war. Hallelujah. Not a violent man. That's right. He's a man of war. Meaning, he can't tolerate something coming against God's purposes. Jesus. Thank you, Father. Oh, hallelujah. Well, anyway, he says, "You uncircumcised Philistine, who is this uncircumcised Philistine?" And the people answered him in this manner, saying, "So shall it be done for the man who kills him." Verse 27. And the people answered him in this manner, saying, "So shall it be done for the man who kills him." So shall it be done. Now Ilab, his oldest brother, heard when he spoke to the men. And Ilib's answer was aroused against David, and he said, "Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart for you have come down to see the battle. Do you see how horrible the language is to David? And David said, "What? What have I done now?" Ah, this is a repeated thing. This is a repeated thing revealed in this text. The answer reveals that this is happening constantly. Like what did I do now? like you're always giving me a difficult time. Is there not a cause? Then he turned from him toward another and said the same thing, and these people answered him as the first ones did. Now when the words which David spoke were heard, they reported them to Saul, and he sent him for him. Then David said to Saul, "Let no man's heart fail because of him. Your servant will go and fight with this Philistine." Why did he have that? And I hear so many people teach this text about his faith. But I ask the question, did something happen to him prior to this battle that could have caused him to be activated and filled to to operate in a different level? It is. And it's the anointing. What happened? Saul said to David, "You are not able to go against the Philistine." The king tells the anointed man, "You're not able." It says, "You're not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him, for you are a youth." Natural. And he a man of war from his youth. Natural. But David said to Saul, "Your servant used to keep his father's sheep. And when a lion or bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went after it and struck it and delivered the lamb from its mouth. And when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard and struck and killed it. Man of war, even in the shepherdfield, this man. Amen. Talking to God, learning from God. Your servant has killed both lion and bear. What a resume. And this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God. That is how David saw the armies of the living God. He is thinking and hearing and operating in service to God. Moreover, David said, "The Lord who delivered me from the Paul the lion and from the Paul the bear." Did you hear it? David does not ascribe his ability in the natural. He ascribes his ability in the natural coming from supernatural power. God, the Lord who delivered me from the paw. The Lord delivered me from the paw of the lion. I want you to take notice something. The Lord delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear. David was not attacked. The text you just read with me was that the bear and the lion got the sheep. They didn't attack David. They attacked the sheep. David went and then hunted, chased after the animals and killed them to get the sheep back. Goliath isn't attacking David. Goliath is attacking the sheepfold of God called Israel. Yes, David is the same man from the shepherd field as he is on the battlefield, only now he's changed from taking care of Jesse's property to taking care of God's special treasure. It's the same. The anointing is needed to do the work of God, even if you think you know how to do it from your past. Come on. You may say, "I've done this in America. I've done this in accounting. I've done this and this and I've done that. Oh, I can minister." Sir, no you may have the natural ability, but God wants to take your skill and who you are and he wants to elevate it into service for him. Is that making sense to you? Because the anointing is for the Lord's purposes. So, David is now going to go and and he he's he's going to try to put on the armor, but it doesn't work. David takes off the armor and David said uh later it said verse 37, "The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, he will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." David is not running. David is pursuing Goliath. David isn't even a soldier. David is not enlisted. David is not trained. David has no natural armor. David is look seemingly illprepared and ill equipped for this. What is he crazy? There's something about it that even in the church, the pastors, the elders, the professional clergy, all dressed up, all looking powerful, and then it's some kid that comes in and prays for the dear woman who's been praying and fasting for healing and gets the job done. And the little kid walks out of the building, and it was none of the professional clergy that got it done cuz it was the anointing in the child that's getting it done. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. David is going after Goliath. And Saul said to David, "Go and the Lord be with you." Now, I don't know how Saul said that, but I don't know if it was one of those, "May the Lord be with you cuz you're going to need it." I don't know. So Saul clothed David with his armor and he put a bronze helmet on his head. He also clothed and he goes on and and David said, "I've not tested these." He took them off. Then he took his staff in his hand and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook and put them in a shepherd's bag in a pouch which he had and his sling was in his hand. I want you to understand it's like a guy filled with grease being a plumber walking off the job into a battlefield and said, "Don't worry, I got this." A shepherd's bag. You know, you understand this. The anointing makes the difference. And he drew near to the Philistines. So the Philistine came and began drawing near to David. And the man who bore the shield went before him. And we know what happened. David is taunted by Goliath. Goliath keeps just taunting him like what? What did you even come out here for? Verse 45. Come on. Let's read this together. Then David said to the Philistines, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin, all natural. But I come to you." Do you hear it? I'm coming to you. I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. David was not personal about it. David understood. I'm just representing the God who you just messed with. You come to me with these impress I mean the thing weighed 120 pounds. They say the the the the armor and it's just phenomenal how big this guy was. And David's anointed eye was like really that you come to me with that? You come to me with stuff, I come to you with someone. In other words, David wasn't saying, "I've come to you." It's almost like he's saying, "We've come to you. Me and the one who anointed me are moving together." You may be wondering what happened next. Many of you know the history. David speaks to him. But I come to you in the name means the authority of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand. It's the same language as the lion, the same language as the bear. It's all God. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand and I will strike you and take your head from you. You've heard me say this. David has no sword. That's right. He has stones. He already planned to kill Goliath with his own sword, which is the utmost shame in battle to be killed with your own weapon. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines. Did you hear that? He He said, "By the way, I'm not just coming after you. I'm coming after everyone. I'm coming after the entire army. Birds are going to feast on your army today. Jesus. My goodness. A little boy with sticks. He was very young. They think he was like a teenager. Young young teenager. It's the anointing. That's right. It's the anointing. It's the anointing. Amen. It's the anointing that speaks like this. It's the anointing that gives you boldness. It's the anointing that empowers you. And it's the anointing that you that that you're sent. Then all the assembly shall know. Listen. Then all the assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear. Is it clear? It's not the natural. For the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hands. So it was when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to David that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. It's as if David is walking and I'm sorry, it's as if Goliath is walking and David is running. Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone and he slung it and struck the Philistine in the forehead. in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore, David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath. Did you hear that? Goliath never even took the sword out of its sheep. and killed him and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. Now the men of Israel and Judah arose and shouted and pursued the Philistines as far as the entrance of the valley. It was the anointing of one man that gave courage to one man that gave power to one man that gave boldness to one man that enabled him to fight Goliath. But what did it do? It activated the rest of the army of Israel. I wonder if you and I could possibly activate the church. I wonder if you and I can activate many other believers on the earth to go and arise and do what God called us to do. Why? Because the anointing will touch you and it will touch others and it will cause victory. Somebody may be thinking to themselves, what does this have to do with Pentecost? everything because what we're seeing in 1 Samuel chapter 16 and 17 is a foretasting of that which he's going to give to his own army. Hallelujah. In the new covenant. Hallelujah. The church is described in Paul's letter to Ephesians as the army of God. Amen. It is described as a household. It is described as an army. It is described as a family. There are many pictures within Ephesians of seven of how the church is looked at. And one of them is the same type of picture as the nation of Israel. And I want you to understand that God did not empower one person in the New Testament. In fact, in the 50th day, the the the feast of weeks and different feasts in the Bible were representing the first fruits, the first fruits of the crop, the wheat crop. And it was the first fruits. And there was a celebration that life has come, provision has come. And in the New Testament on the 50th day, therein lies, praise God, the release of the Holy Spirit that was prophesied and that I've been preaching about. Now, you may be thinking, Lord, I I don't understand much about this. Two things that I've been teaching in the last three weeks. Number one, you got to be hungry. Number two, you got to be surrendered. That's right. And the Bible says that if you ask God for the anointing, he will give you the anointing. He's better than a father. When the son asks for a a loaf or a fish, he doesn't give him a stone. He doesn't give him a serpent. No, he gives him the anointing. Jesus Christ said this was a promise. As you've been hearing me teach, it is a promise to the church. Jesus Christ said, "Wait and tarry in Jerusalem until you receive the promise." Acts chapter 1 vers8, "But wait in Jerusalem, right? Wait until you receive." It says, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." That you may be what? Witnesses. Can you put that up, please? Acts 18. That you may be what? Witnesses. That you may be what? Witnesses. And what did the Bible say? David said, "God's going to do this because the whole world will see that God doesn't deliver with sword and spear." And he wanted the whole witness to the world in the Old Testament that God does it by his power, his anointing. Amen. And now in the New Testament, now God in the upper room, Acts chapter 2, let's go there. Acts chapter 2, it says there was a sound like a mighty rushing wind. Amen. Like a sound of a mighty rushing wind. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. A sound like a mighty rushing wind. And you know what happened? They were all there and a sound from heaven comes. not natural, but supernatural, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as a fire, and one sat upon each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, and the Spirit gave them utterance. The Holy Spirit gave gifts unto men for the church to glorify and to serve God. If you are someone who just wants to speak in tongues because it's cool, that's not the right heart. If you're someone that says, "Lord, I want to serve you. I want to get out of my chair and I want to serve you. I want to get out of my comfort zone and I want to serve you. Now, as a saved person, you have the Holy Spirit. But just think of this. What have we been sitting on dormant and not allowing the Holy Spirit to do mighty exploits like David? What if David stayed home? Why are we staying home? Why are we sitting on the sidelines? Every once in a while, I find that there are people who come to me so excited, say, "Coach, put me in. Coach, put me in. Coach, put me in." But it's rare. It's rare. Most people are absolutely okay to sit here and go home. The anointing is for the activity of God in the earth. The anointing is for the glory of God. So, here we go. We got to close this service here in a couple of minutes, but we're going to continue into next service. We're going to be laying hands on people in the next service, but you can receive it as we pray now, but I want to prepare you. And here it is. Ready? The Holy Spirit's not you. So, it's either going to be you, it's going to be the Holy Spirit in you. It's either going to be you living or it's going to be the Holy Spirit living. It's either going to be you or it's going to be the anointing moving. So, here's what's supposed to happen. When we become saved, we're supposed to crucify our old life. And we're not supposed to take it up. And then when we release our life to God, when we're like, Lord, it's it's no longer I who live, but it's you who live in me. You're making room. You're allowing room for the person of the Holy Spirit to take his proper place. It's called surrender. Lord, have your way in me. Lord, have your way in me. Goliath isn't a story. It's a prophecy. Not literally, but it's pointing toward the victory that we're supposed to have over sin, over death, over the world, over bondage, and over the devil. Yes, Jesus has bled for you on the cross. Yes, you've become saved. But are you allowing the fullness of the measure of the Holy Spirit to work? I know that I am growing into deeper and wider and fuller expressions of the spirit. I feel like I haven't even begun yet. Anybody else feel like that? That's right. Well, you could pray right now and say, "Lord, I pray God, Lord, I I I want to fully yield and and and I want to seek after what you've got for me, the revelatory gifts, the the power gifts, and the inspiration gifts." and and and and and if you we're going to be studying them, guys, because you know, the more you look at you say, "Lord, I I hunger to do what you desire to be done. So surrender right now. This is not just for now. This is when you go home. Say, "Lord, I'm here." And and and let uh Jesus, some of us have a lot of questions, and those questions have hit the pause button on God's progress in your life. It's okay to have questions, but put them aside. Pursue him. Put him aside and move. Say, "Lord, here I am. I honestly from the bottom of my heart never really really really ever would enjoy you saying to me pastor I can't rather you say pastor I can't but I know he who is in me can so can we pray pastor will you train me will you will you help me to grow in the grace and the knowledge of God. Amen. Oh, hallelujah. By the way, one of the reasons why the devil doesn't want the anointing to flow in churches is because he has no ability to overcome it. That's right. Stand to your feet. Come on. Hallelujah. Father, we give you thanks today in the name of Jesus. Again, if you want hands laid on you later, you can you can stay and come back. You can pray in your own prayer closet. Hallelujah. Just pray right now to the Lord. God, I I desire for your anointing to be released in me. I desire, Lord, for your glory, Lord. I want your spirit to flow, God. I want your spirit to act strong in the anointing. Hallelujah. He can't wait for you to have it. He wants to unlock new dimensions of it. Come on. He loves you. He's good. This is not a request of God. This is a provision of God. This you need the Holy Spirit. You need You need the Holy Spirit to flow. We need the Holy Spirit to overcome what is coming to our land. You will not be able to overcome in natural strength. Yeah. Hallelujah. You need the anointing. Hallelujah. Come on. Go ahead. Lift your voice for it. Lift your voice for it. Lift your voice for it. Lift your voice forward. Don't be shy. Be hungry. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Oh, Rabbi Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. You got to surrender control. You got to release the control. Oh, hallelujah. Oh. Oh. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Oh God, that we would hunger for the anointing, God. The fire of my altar never burn out. The fire of my altar never burn out. The fire of my altar never burn out. Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy. Let the fire of my never burn out. The fire of my altar never burn. Let the fire of my altar never burn. Make me a temple of the spirit of God. Fire. Hallelujah. Fireful. Hallelujah. Fire. Altern. Fire of my altar burn of my altar burn your heart. Fire on my burn. Fire in my burn. Fire on my altar. Hallelujah. Fire on my altar. Never burn out. Fire on my altar never burn out. Fire on my altar never burn. I am a house of God. Let the fire of my altar never burn out. The fire of my altar never burn. We're going to close this service and we're just going to continue to flow. And you want to stay, you can stay. next service can come in. But listen, we're not going to stop and then start. We're just going to flow into the next one. Amen. So, if you need to leave, no worries. Be blessed. Cry out to God. The fire, the anointing, his power, for his glory. By God's grace, this church is going to be trending and overwhelmed in the oil of God. We love you in Jesus name. Hallelujah.
