then while I was trying to review our previous lesson imagine a misplaced amazing authors of course your father literature Pampanga sir Juan pseudonym since I'm for the past two sessions on authors and their texts let's have a quick check for understanding at Jung instruction shooter Joyce I go ahead yes the instruction is so direction is you have to guess the author of the work described or the author behind the anecdote in each statement then identify which region the author represents at an early age my hands already recognize the beautiful Melody I can produce with a violin next I shall explore the banduria guitar and piano then await the woman whose face radiation aided warmth and Beauty beyond measure so who am I so lucky I think okay so in our comments section starts with letter P okay so I yeah uh Jung answered definitely from region five Mr Button Gregorio senior so very good second item shooter Joyce go ahead yes of course yes it works My Demise is shuttle was caused by a turbulent tuberculosis complicated pneumonia I had no regrets since I worked hard and left behind many poems novels short stories plays and other correspondence that made history I have my friends and supporters to thank for compiling most of if not all of them so for the information of everyone demise foreign and casino [Music] and so uh if you're wondering very soon or about to go to college there uh usually studies go ahead the big who am I is still a male figure so your fellow What I Hear born to impress the heavens and so I claimed that Carlos palanca Memorial awards for literature I strongly believe that life should not end in school learning should not also cease even after a war if your inclinations push you to work at different establishments then go be free from burdens and find the inspiration you need to write anywhere anytime till you find your Muse of Ashes so it's a collective or collected poems that he had from 1940 to 1992. and he's coming from somewhere in visayas [Music] [Music] see Carlos a Angeles from Region 8 from Eastern visayas moving on to the next one I I cannot see but my uh my senses tells tell me is exactly what type of person you are I can even sense if you have been lying about your crime yes I am bright and musical inclined this is the father of ilocano poetry At Your Service [Music] I think it's because said right next one last one actually yes like what they're what we are experiencing right now the typhoons episodes of Terror are yearly versus wind and uh shattered glass streaming from the mouth of a thousand serpents smoke of Dark Crystal Bill blowing from Beyond the ancient shoulders of the bristling land oh when when will this typhoons come to an end okay yes [Music] starts with letter v okay yeah is Mr Rio Alma or virgilios and adren almario from Region 3 Central Luzon so thank you okay good job our dear students very good now this time shooters just few of those anime characters before time a form of discussion um shooter floor ready and go write your answers on our comment section foreign foreign [Laughter] [Music] very good yes next okay so uh we also have muzan so very good so hello if not all and oh she knows okay yeah okay so my my one thing apart from um uh usually uh young first um they're actually good characters if you notice on the villain side is manga and all and of course ask them from Black Clover so Latin shooter Joyce similarities differences in terms of age [Laughter] [Music] yes and this is what we call the juxtaposition well actually it's these are the fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effects also the elements and not only that children so which of the past lessons that we have shared shows a cultural juxtaposition between literary genres of the past and the present so another example is and we have what impressed me most the song was the juxtaposition of country and the classic song souls yeah and you can also use that um and then apply that so that you can practice how to use this uh juxtaposition actually in uh juxtaposition as a word apply as a poetic elements okay but before that we have to have mention our masks our most essential learning competency at the end of the lesson will be comparing contrasting the values 21st century literary genres and the ones from the earlier genre Spirit citing their elements structures and traditions should be my objectives and we have number one write them down first go ahead differentiate the 21st century literary genre genres and its predict sessions and describe each literary we're going to meet the different literary genres and of course appreciate the unique features of each genre okay I am next so Twitter Joyce 21st century skills even online existing printed material now when we talk about 21st century literature or literary genres within the last decade and the ones who are writing them are actually labeled as contemporary authors and your usual themes about technology um underlying issues setting or characters within a little literary text in fact tutor Joys Define genre so it's actually truth or joy and our kids it's a particular type or category of a literature or art uh young literary text or any form of literature example who known it could be a literary genre film genre or musical genre or Kong in a sentence this book is a classic of the mystery genre yeah basic literary genres 21st century existence learn when we speak of fiction using imagination it's more on writer's imagination human experiences yeah but this time using his creativity a new writer Nathan or the writers uh stories on the other hand non-fiction so this time um imaginative or creative side we're we're basing everything through facts and we're presenting information that are proven factual so well UFO my fairy or any mythological creature next is it's more on figurative Expressions imagery Rhythm sound American measurement it's more on emotions and expressions so usually support three more on and say you have to read Beyond the Lines okay yes and of course the drama okay usually Acts or division um we are able to produce a place or even the soap operas that we know of Ganon so these are the four basic literary genres out there this time we are going to unfold together the different 21st century literary genres so ETO gets me and you guess me it's very simple pictures um every other type of literary genres the 21st century ready bye uh typing some reactions now reading reading reading let's begin with the first one should Rejoice yes first we have okay let us see if they can guess this first genre okay again you may type your answers on our chat space shooter Joyce [Laughter] Alice in Wonderland yes very good Aaliyah so um fiction so good yes this is actually a new form of fiction shooter Joyce and that is and that is Illustrated novel okay thank you children can you tell us more about the Illustrated novel well we speak of Illustrated novel and yeah it's a story through text and it's treated images illustration and have words the novel is more illustrations no and speaking of our readers yeah so yeah so very good let's have the second one shooter Joyce okay next please is a graphic fiction or simply known as the graphic novel it's always interchangeably uh referred to as um Comics or comic books subtle differences [Music] that's true thank you for that tutor choice we actually have a famous One it actually became more famous or was famous even before the comics that we know of yucatula comics graphic novels and this is known as the we're entitled uh hold on the mythology class written and illustrated by Arnold National book award-winning graphic novel yes after a decadeology class it's it talks about a group of up students they were trying to enlist themselves in a certain mythology class that was it's a training program training program to catch in cantos they band together in order to survive the class next shooter can you share about this one Graphics this is Sparrow sparrows Roar so tutor okay with their with their country under attack from barbarians and when the leaders is murdered it falls upon her sister Yancy pair to impersonate again and then we also realize that her journey and goes a lot harder to achieve and this way of truly enjoying and reading the story yes and shooter Joyce young Sparrow [Music] making a mess out of your sister's life but while while juggling all those you're actually trying to save a country okay foreign [Music] that's good now tutor Choice after lambana it's actually written by Eliza Victoria the illustrator is Mervin Malone so it actually got nominated as a for a Philippine national book award it's refreshing because it's giving us uh the idea of what the realm of the lambana is the the mermaid the mermaids in the lambana realm and even the diwatas or fairies and etong main characters my failing heart sha so since my needs himself this is is this is by far one of the best graphic novels I've seen although there's less texts images and all it's really good the pictures or the images or the graphics speak for themselves I think one of the characteristics okay moving on to number three yes excited comic books shooter Joys a comic books so there's a quote here by Napoleon and this couldn't be truer when it comes to comic books the picture is trying to tell us something or the message of the patron and the name yeah um for comic books it's actually one of the good ones out there in the sense now it's giving us a science fiction or Space Opera genre so it reimagines the creatures from Philippine folklore and mythology as aliens from different planets it even won or placed in the Philippines procedure how do we differentiate how do we spot that subtle differences between a graphic novel and comic book okay publishing companies yes if you have to look at closely yes we speak of graphic novels it's a long ring running narrative that are longer than Comics book again and of course it's a graphic novel then maintain serialized except exert from a larger narrative cover a wide array day of genres and subject matters and clear begin and clear beginning middle and ending and how about the comic book the month tutor Floyd okay see comic book Naman um usually it has greater frequency episode usually monthly bi-weekly by weekly young story it contains um rather Comics contain excerpts of serialized narratives so um very very intricate comic books comic books Joe Filler episodes comic books let's say NASA para episode so you have to start a story so that you will understand it yes so next another graphic novel we have thematic messaging or for a type of resolution that one extra expects from a novel shampooing in precisely care for considered dialogue and narration and in a graphic novel what comic books yes so resolution do exist sometimes not I mean Adventures we also have manga turn to anime uh there's there has been some debate because it's actually the Japanese um term for comics in Japan as graphic novels you're on to an Adventure as if you're reading a good novel okay now we also have another version yes you sequential or to tell a story and definitely protagonists exists character development and personal journey in progress guys yes I foreign actually [Music] and we feel that this time given to us is really not enough to discuss everything but I must not appreciate nothing new 21st century next lessons today we write from life and call it literature and literature ellipse because we are in it literature is life literature is everywhere so Hindi language 21st century literature but we can also apply this to our lives it's because we need to learn and apply to ourselves yes we don't have to experience something awful something horrendous or something scary or even triumphant uh or yeah very happy events experience we get to read them we get to hear the experiences of other people through their writings this is foreign don't forget to post that to our it's a live Facebook 21st century Philippine literary genres so next week the month and finally for the last two weeks we're going to give some excerpts or rather together together individually applying different literary approaches yes thank you very excited excited for next week thank you thank you for another fruitful session with you and with our students okay 21st century literature from the Philippines and the world thank you and continue watching bye everyone bye everyone thank you for watching see you
