Underarm Waxing Procedure

Preparation

• Client Positioning:
  • Lift client's arm over their head.
  • Client uses the other hand to pull breast away, tightening skin.

Analyzing Hair Growth

• Observation:
  • Check direction(s) of hair growth.
  • Hair can grow in multiple directions (up to 3-4).

Wax Application

• Type of Wax: Hard wax
• Application Technique:
  • Use a figure-eight motion.
  • Apply wax thickly to grip hair.
  • May require multiple sections for different hair growth directions.

Wax Patch Formation

• Patch Creation:
  • Start at the center, spread out in a circle to form a rim.
  • Ensure even thickness throughout the patch.

Wax Removal

• Client & Wax Positioning:
  • Client holds arm stretched.
  • Ensure three-way stretch: client, arm, and you.
• Press and Adhere:
  • Use palm to press wax patch.
  • Ensure wax adheres completely, no testing or poking.
• Removal Technique:
  • Apply pressure with palm to adhere.
  • Use spatula edge to lift the rim of the patch.
  • Pull in opposite direction of hair growth.
  • Immediately press and soothe the area after removal.

Key Considerations

• Patch Consistency:
  • Ensure smooth, even distribution of wax.
  • Thick, uniform rim or tab for effective removal.

Troubleshooting

• If the patch doesn’t adhere properly, reapply with even thickness and consistent edges.
