Personal Everyday Carry (EDC) Items

All right, everybody, it's Everyday Carry Pocket Dump Day. And it's been several years. I think it's been like three years since I've done one of these. We've been doing this on the show. And so I'm going to go through my everyday carry.

And my team has been blown up with questions about some of the other items and articles of clothing that I wear. So normally I feel really weird doing this. And I still feel kind of weird.

But, um... I'm not going to lie, some of these I have business opportunities with. Some of these are sponsored. Some of them aren't, but I'm not going to tell you which one's which. Just know that I carry these items every day.

And another thing is I'm going to give you some options with products instead of just, you know, use this exact thing. So let's get going. Starting off with sunglasses. So everybody get a lot of compliments on my shades. These are a British company, Cutler and Gross.

I can't remember what frames they are, but I've been wearing these for probably about, actually probably about 10 years. I've been wearing this brand and love them. They're out of UK. I never wear anything else.

Belt! That's right. The old Bianchi belt size 32. Look, I like this belt.

I've been wearing this belt since the SEAL teams. I remember back when I was in, all of the SEAL Team 6 guys had this and so that means everybody wanted this. And, you know, I like this belt.

I wear it every day unless, you know, I'm dressing up for a special occasion. But super sturdy leather belt. It's kind of like the OG gum belt. I haven't tried anything else. I've been sent a lot of stuff, but I just, I don't need to try anything else because I like this and it works.

And I've been using it for over 20 years now. So Bianchi or Bianchi, I don't even know how to say it. but maybe we'll link all this stuff below. If you notice, I always wear a white or a black T-shirt. That's it.

It's Robert Barricate. I get them from Nordstrom's. I go white or I go black.

I used to have all these different colors, but as a business owner, I make a shit ton of decisions every day. And so one of the things that I've done to try to Save my sanity is I try to control the amount of decisions I make every day. And so first decision is white shirt or a black shirt.

That's it. I know why they both look on me. And it actually saves a lot of time. I'm sure you know that as you every day wake up in the mirror and try 50 different outfits on to see how your butt looks and what color looks on you for the day and all these things. So I don't do that.

I get the exact same pair of jeans. I wear the exact same pair of shoes and I wear a white or a black t-shirt and that's my decision making process for the day. My wallet, RFID wallet.

This one's leather on top. I don't like a big thick wallet. Makes my butt hurt when I'm sitting and I sit a lot because I'm a podcast host and I always carry a couple hundred bucks on me. Right here, carry a couple hundred bucks on me. It's always good to have cash.

Get you in places, get you out of places. You can talk people into doing things that they wouldn't normally do. Maybe you need help and your credit cards are all stolen. I don't know, but it's just always good to have cash. Cash is king.

So on top of that, my phone. Got two phones. No, I'm not a drug dealer. I just have two phones, regular iPhone.

I put. Look, I don't even know if these things actually work or not, but I figure it can't hurt. You know, there's all this talk about EMF waves and all these EMF protection devices. So I guess what this thing does, it's like a sticker.

You put it on the back of your phone and it kind of sucks up all the EMF waves. So it's supposed to be a healthier way of living. And I'm into health. So that's the iPhone. Other phone.

The other phone is the unplugged phone. So you've heard me talk about this several times on the show. I've given these. is gifts to guests.

And I don't think it's any secret that big tech is monitoring literally everything you're doing. They're listening to you when your phone's off. They're monitoring where you go. They're monitoring how long you stay at your house. They are intrusive in just about every possible way you can think of.

And so the unplugged phone is the way around all of that. And so I'm gonna just go. talk about a couple of things that the unplugged phone has.

One, they have their Up Messenger. So on top of the Up Messenger, you have to type in your passcode every time you open it. And basically what the Up Messenger is is kind of the unplugged version of Signal, the texting application that is encrypted.

And so they have their own encrypted messaging app. They have their own Up VPN. Right here, right now we're disconnected, cool.

Now we're out of Atlanta. Another thing is, here's what I really like about this phone. One, one thing that's really cool is they have a kill switch right here. What does the kill switch do?

Well, the kill switch basically, for those of you that don't know, the government and anybody that's tapping your phone can listen to you even when your phone's turned off. So what the kill switch does is it actually, puts a piece of plastic in between where the battery is and where the phone is. So when you have an iPhone, right, you turn this off, they're still listening, unless you pull the battery out.

But oh wait, you can't pull the battery out of the iPhone, can you? Can't pull the battery out of this one either, but when you put that piece of plastic in between where the battery is and the phone, where it connects, they cannot listen. It's 100% dead at that point.

Then you have the up privacy feature here. And the up privacy feature is basically what this thing is, is a quick menu to protect your privacy. So they have, you can turn on your firewall here.

You can block your camera so that nobody can access your camera. You can block Bluetooth. You can block unsecured Wi-Fi.

You can block NFC outgoing. You can block your location. You can block your charging so that you can only charge through USB.

And there's actually a self-destruct here as well. So basically hit the self-destruct thing and type in your passcode. Maybe it might want to be something like, I don't know, 911. Some kind of distress code. that you're going to remember and that way you know i don't know when the fbi shows up at your door and you don't want them going through all your you hit your kill switch or i'm sorry you're self-destruct and it literally destroys all of your data on the phone and um that was a joke about the fbi but not really so up phone really good uh device to have lots of cool features keeps you private All right, blades.

Let's get into some fun stuff. This is my favorite blade. That's right.

The old pocket knife switchblade comb. There we go. Just kidding.

Hey, look. Blades, right? I love blades. I'm not a knife fighter.

I don't have any knife fighting training. I wish I did, but I'm just not that cool. So I carry folders. I'm going to give you a couple different shout outs here.

Strider knives. Love Strider. This is probably the one I carry the most.

Not really for any particular reason. Very quality blade. Look, they used to issue these to the department that I worked in or contracted for at CIA.

And unfortunately, they stopped. gifting them out when I showed up. So I never got one. So I had to buy my own. I lose these probably once a year and I always get another one.

I just Strider knives, love them. Very quality stuff. This is another company that I really like.

Half Face Blades. A lot of you have probably heard of Half Face Blades. quality, super quality knife maker, former SEAL. And, you know, he started off making fixed blades, like amazing fixed blades.

They look like art. But he started doing folders. So I'll carry this folder every once in a while as well.

And this is another company that I just, they make really quality stuff. I don't actually know how long they've been around, but this is Scorpion knives, they make some really quality stuff. Basically, I just use these for Amazon boxes. I hate to say it, but they could be for protection. I would use it for protection, but primarily what I use it for is opening Amazon boxes.

So, killed a lot of Amazon boxes. And lastly, like I said, I don't really carry a fixed blade. I know I probably should.

but I don't. So there's that. But if I did carry a fixed blade, I would probably carry a half-face blade or my friend Dom Razzo also has a pretty good collection of blades. I think he partnered with Winkler Knives, another brand that's just super, super high quality blades. But I pulled this one out to show you guys because I thought this was interesting.

This is a company called Variant One. We actually tried to partner with them, but they are doing so well that they couldn't partner with us. What's cool about this blade is they didn't have time to partner with us, and that's cool. I think that's awesome.

But this blade is made out of some type of plastic. So guess what? Gets through metal detectors and... other places where you probably can't get a gun into to protect yourself.

Guess what? It's plastic. So, I'll tell you what, if there are any blade companies out there making quality plastic knives that don't go through a metal detector, shoot us an email. Maybe we'll partner with you because I would love to make my own version of this because this does come in handy for those places.

Keep that in mind. Another thing I carry, I've been carrying this for, I guess over a year now. But, you know, a lot of you guys know that I came to faith about what, I think that was about a year and a half ago. And so, no secret, a lot of shit is going on in the world that is, doesn't make any sense.

And... You know, the only thing that makes sense to me anymore is the Word of God and the Bible. And so I carry a rosary with me. I grew up Catholic.

I'm not really a practicing Catholic anymore, but I just carry this for protection. Usually I carry a rosary from my friend Dom Razzo. He sells these rosaries called the Warrior's Rosary. I actually gifted that on another episode to Father Rehill. I don't know if this will be out by the time this comes out or his episode, but I gave him the rosary that Dom Razzo gave me, and he actually brought me a gift as well, which is this rosary.

And so I've been carrying this ever since. It can't hurt, right? And I am a believer, and I do think.

that this protects me. So probably, not probably, more than any of the other stuff that I'm going to talk about today. So there's that.

Let's go into time pieces. So you guys have been watching my ADC. Some of you probably saw the first one I did that was, I don't know, probably close, I think it was like seven or eight years ago. And I talked about Rolex and why I wear one.

So I started out I was working for the agency and we were going into all these semi-permissive environments, I guess you would call them. And, you know, with not a lot of assets to pull us out of shit hits the fan. And so one thing that I decided that I wanted to do was I wanted to get some type of thing that I could wear on my body that I could use as a bargaining chip. Came up with this. Damn near 20 years ago at this point.

And so I started out with a Rolex GMT. And where I'm going with this is, you know, I used to work in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen. Very dangerous places to be in and and I used to vacation in some pretty dangerous places too like Honduras, Colombia, parts of Peru, bad parts of Dominican Republic.

But anyways, point being, if you wind up in a shitty situation, guess what? I mean, a bottom line Rolex goes for what? About $10,000. And it is probably the most recognizable brand in the world when it comes to something of value. And so everybody in the world knows what a Rolex is.

Bottom line one is 10 grand. Guess what? Here's a Rolex. I need your car right now to get the fuck out of here. And so, you know, I'm not really much of a showboater.

But I do, I really enjoy timepieces as well. And so this is the white gold Submariner. I actually had a yellow gold one, super uncomfortable running around with a fucking yellow gold watch.

It sticks out like a sore thumb. But like I said, I do like, it's just something that I like are timepieces. And so I got the white gold Rolex.

They call it, the dealer called it the Stealth Wealth Rolex. So that's what I got. When I was in the agency looking for a timepiece, the original one that I really wanted was the Breitling Emergency Watch.

And so what's really cool about this watch, not near the same level of brandability, maybe brandability has not worked, but... Not the right word, but basically what I'm trying to say is it's not as recognizable as Rolex. Very nice timepieces, but not as recognizable. But the thing about, this was my first choice because if you unscrew this and pull this out, it's actually an antenna. And then this top one right here is also an antenna.

And so when these antennas get pulled out, the bottom one activates it. It basically sends out a distressed beacon, an SOS signal, and somebody is coming to get your ass if you do that. And so, unfortunately, well, fortunately, I never needed it. But had I needed it, somebody would have been there to get me.

And, you know, but the unfortunate thing is, is back then the military... believe it was the military actually bought the frequency back so Breitling quit making the emergency watch well fast forward about 20 15 20 years guess what now they're making them again and so you can go to Breitling get those watches they're not cheap but you know if you're if you're a military guy or an undercover guy or anybody who has a job I mean even if you're I don't know a snow skier. I mean, it's just a good thing to have because you have your SOS beacon on your wrist.

It's not going anywhere. And this is actually, I got this on the secondary market, and this is a Blackwater Breitling. If you watch my episode with Eric, one of my episodes with Eric Prince, we ask him about how it came about. And so if I remember correctly, they made They wound up making, I believe, 100 of these, and it went to all the top executives at Blackwater, which was the biggest private military contracting company in the world. And so there it is, the Breitling Emergency.

And I'll take this off one more time. The Rolex white gold, the Stealth Wolf Submariner watch. And so that's what I wear.

It is a... great bargaining chip and the other one is just a is a great device to have and like i said they're you know If you want one, go to your local jeweler. Medical.

That's right, medical. So, I don't carry a tournament kit everywhere I go. They are actually, they are in my truck.

If I do feel like it's a high threat environment, then yes, I am gonna have this on my person. But they're in my wife's car, they're in my car, they're in every... little compartment that you can get in.

This one, this particular tourniquet is from a company called Snake Staff Systems, right? And, you know, what's cool about this tourniquet is in my time in service and contracting for the government and various agencies, we always use the CAT tourniquet. Great tourniquet. I've seen it work several times, I've had it work several times. I mean, it's just, it's a good tourniquet.

The thing about the Cat tourniquet is it's not designed for pets or kids. And so Snake Staff Systems actually made, this is actually a smaller tourniquet, which takes up less space, so that's a good thing. And the good thing about this, well, the thing that I really liked about this tourniquet is they did design it so that you can use this on your little kids, your toddlers, your babies, your pets, and you know i that's something that i never really thought about now i have two kids of my own and um and uh you know i just i think that's that's really cool that they that they that they thought about that and um you know super sturdy it also has uh a gate here to keep your windlass uh secured and it also has a little uh chem light here you can break if you need to shake it up And then that way, let's say it's a MASH casualty event.

Let's say you are a, I don't know, paramedic, right? And you're responding to a MASH casualty event in the nighttime. Guess what?

If you crack that, then everybody knows where the tourniquets are on the bodies if there's not a lot of light. And it just lets you know who actually has any tourniquets at all. So great piece of equipment. I would highly... I highly, highly recommend you get these and at least put them in your vehicles.

You know, everybody, nobody thinks the worst case scenario is gonna happen until they get in a car accident, your arm goes through a window. Guess what? Severs a brachial artery. Guess what? This is going to save your ass, your kid's ass, your spouse's ass, your mom, your parents, whoever, okay?

So these are important. One more thing about tourniquets. Do not I'm telling you this because I care. Do not go to Amazon and buy some knockoff tourniquet, because here's what happens.

The Velcro shit or this windlass thing that actually keeps it tight and enables this thing to actually work, it's not quality. It breaks. Get a real tourniquet.

Go to North American Rescue. Go to Snake Staff Systems. It doesn't matter.

Just get it from a reputable... dealer from or a reputable brand. I cannot stress that enough.

Look, it's not going to help you if you save five, ten dollars on a shit tourniquet and then you're in the shit hits the fan. You're in a car wreck, an active shooter event, whatever unfortunate event happens. You're putting on something that you tried to save five bucks with and it fucking breaks.

Guess what? That person's now going to bleed out. and die.

So go with a reputable brand. All right, we're almost done. I know you've all been waiting for this part, right?

The guns, the firearms, what's Sean carrying? Well, it hasn't changed much. So I don't get too intricate with these. So I, you know, if you watch this from the beginning, the progression of my EDC, like who gives a shit, right? But I'm just telling you, used to carry a Glock, used to carry a Glock.

What was that? 43. I think it carried like eight rounds. Well, then SIG came out with the SIG P365. This is the first version of the SIG P365.

It carries 12 rounds in the magazine, and this thing is basically like carrying a Tic Tac. It works. It's reliable. I've been using this thing for probably seven, eight years now.

And what I like when they originally designed this, they designed, this is a double stack. Most, you know, back in the day, they were all single stacks. Man, I'm showing my age. But they designed the magazine first for the round capacity and then designed the gun or the firearm around the magazine. And so this is the first version.

I still carry it sometimes. This is the version that I carry probably most of the time. This is the P365 Macro Legion model. So this is like the top model they have. um sig has also redone their entire optics line uh this optic great optic been using it uh crisp dot and reliable and it's a uh shake awake so when you pull it out of your holster uh the reticle already is illuminated and then it'll shut out shut off after a certain time period of it not moving but um very quality subcompact pistol here.

The entire pistol is made of metal. You never see that these days, ever. And then I have a Streamlight light on here.

This is a, and I have a TLR7 Alpha Streamlight attached to it. You can get sure fire lights. There's all kinds of lights that work.

There are all kinds of firearms that work, but this is what I use. What I really like about the P365 macro, whether you get the Legion model or the first macro model, or they actually, they even have another model out now, is they went from 12 rounds to 17 rounds. So you get 17 rounds plus one in the pipe.

Guess what? If you like this super small, I'll show you guys the size difference. There it is. Not a terribly difference in size, but this one, it's smaller, it's the most comfortable to carry.

This one holds more rounds. With the new EDC, or excuse me, the new P365, they have now mags that carry 21 rounds. So you get 22, 21 in the mag, one in the pipe. I don't run with this magazine.

I run with the 17 round magazine. Or if I'm carrying the old school P365, then I just carry the 12. The good thing about this though, good thing about these mags, they fit in all these weapons. And so I don't carry an extra magazine on me, but I do carry a bolt bag sometimes or a go bag, some of you like to call it. And so I will keep these magazines. full in my bolt bag, okay?

And so I just carry one mag in the gun, nothing else, and then I keep my spare magazines in the bolt bag. Rounds, look, do not carry ball rounds for self-defense. I know it's cheap.

I know it's more affordable. Guess what? You're going to go through an entire mag trying to defend yourself, okay?

So I use... I use a lot of different ones. I use Gold Dot.

I use Federal HST. I use Federal Hydroshock. Look, bottom line is, this is what I'm going to tell you. Stick with a, just like the tourniquets, stick with a reputable brand, Federal, Gold Dot, Winchester probably has some good stuff. Stick with the reputable brands.

Make sure you get some type of a hollow point, okay? you need some type of a hollow point uh this is a these are nine millimeter uh firearms and so and not only just don't just buy that ammo and load it up make sure it runs through your weapon make sure uh because if you know some look you just want to make sure everything works these are life-saving devices and and pieces pieces of equipment that we're talking about and you just want to make sure it works Making sure it works the time to make sure it works isn't when you know isn't when shit hits the fan It's right now so run a couple hundred rounds Even if it's just 50 rounds just make sure the weapon cycles and so You know this kind of I wear this a lot in the summertime very light very small very easy to conceal I Wear this one a lot If the whole family's with me or it's winter time because you know i got i'm not wearing shorts or anything like that i'm wearing jeans and so i'm not printing for those of you that don't know what printing is it means you can tell somebody's packing heat underneath their clothing because you can see the outline of the gun over there underneath their shirt and so this one's a little bit heavier but look both really good firearms I've hit out to 100 yards with this thing with iron sights. It's on video.

You guys can see it. I did it like seven years ago, and I'm always practicing with these two. So if you're looking for something to protect yourself as the world goes to shit, which it is, I would highly recommend the P365.

But if that's not your thing, I would say here's the most important thing. Just remember the acronym CAR. Comfortability. Is it comfortable in your hand?

Accuracy, can you accurately shoot with it? And reliability, is it a reliable weapon? Stick with the main brands.

Don't go buying weird shit that's untested that some guy made in his garage. Same goes with ammo. Everybody's always coming up with a new thing.

Oh, guess what? This ammo, this bullet, guess what? When it hits something, it's gonna expand into a thousand shrouds of things and it's gonna... Be super effective. Guess what?

You hit a tree branch with that, there goes your round, buddy. It's just dissipated into nothing because it's not going to hold shape penetrating through branches or anything because they, you get what I'm saying. Don't go with the gimmicky shit, all right? Stick with what works. Holster.

This is a holster I use. I've been using this for, these holsters for a long time. I'm sorry, I can't remember if the name of the company is G-Code or NCOG.

but guess what if you google g-code holster holster or incog holster this is going to show up so what i like about this okay is one it's deep concealment real deep but uh but seriously i'm not one that i Look, I would love to be able to draw my pistol from concealed in 0.5 seconds, but with my daily lifestyle and where I hang out and the meetings that I'm in, that just doesn't look professional with where I'm going. This one sinks deep into the pants. I wear my holster appendix, means up front in my crotch. basically is what that means goes deep in it's a little bit harder to get out but you can also adjust this up and down so that if you want if you want your grip riding high so you can access it better then you just move this up if you want to ride it low like i do and want that deeper concealment uh then you move this down the thing that i also really like about this is there's some kind of like felt or fabric that is laid over the the the kydex here uh which makes it Really comfortable, especially in the summertime when you're sweating.

For those of you that do know, that do carry, you know what I'm talking about. When you're sweating your ass off and the holster's sliding around and it gets all slimy and shit. Well, this one doesn't really do that.

I mean, unless you're like really working in the heat or something. But even the felt or the fabric, whatever this is, it kind of soaks some of that up. So it's just... It's the most comfortable holster that I've found. And with that being said, if you're new to this, one thing that you need to know, it's never gonna be comfortable to stick a pistol in your gut and wear it on your belt.

You just have to find what is the most comfortable. And this is what is the most comfortable to me. It's what I can put up with, okay?

There's all kinds of other holsters out there. And this isn't gonna work for every body type. You know, if you're a heavyset person, something might.

Work better for you. You might want to wear it at your three o'clock, okay? I don't know.

I'm not a heavyset person. But all I'm saying is this is what works for me. You got to find what works for you.

And lastly, that's right. Vigilance Elite Gummy Bears made right here in the U.S. of A. Actually in Michigan.

And it's just candy, you know? We had somebody email in saying that they had like five bags of these and I still don't feel the effects. Wrong place, buddy. You gotta go to California or Colorado for that stuff. But we live in Tennessee here, and it's just candy.

And guess what? Don't bless me. It's not healthy. They're fucking gummy bears, okay?

It's candy. But they do taste good. Really good. Anyways, that is... my EDC pocket dump, and some of the things that I wear every day.
