if you're looking for the best tablet in 2024 the M4 ipip Pro and the Samsung Galaxy TB S9 Ultra are the very best options but which one is better well that's quite hard to say because they each have their own use cases so in this video I'm going to compare everything from the design of materials all the way down to their accessories performance and value to help you guys decide and I want to start off with the design and materials the ts9 ultra is by far the biggest tablet that I've ever seen and while for some that can be a pro it size has its own downsides for example it this take up a lot of space on your desk and then using it in one hand as a tablet is quite uncomfortable now the iPad Pro is also pretty big but I don't actually mind it as much as it is not only smaller than the ts9 ultra but it is also quite a bit thinner at 5.5 mm compared to 5.1 which I can definitely tell when I'm holding both in my hand the biggest difference though is the weight with the iPad Pro being 133 G lighter plus there's also a difference when it comes to their weight distribution with a ts9 Ultra being quite heavy towards the top you can probably see that how it tends to yeah just tumble over um whereas the iPad Pro is just way more balanced so I definitely much prefer using the iPad Pro now the ts9 ultra is ip68 water and thus resistant so if you want to watch a movie while you're taking a bath or you plan on taking this to the beach with you you will be safe however I just don't see how many people would be doing that just because of how big this thing is and the ts9 ultra also supports micro SD so if you plan on traveling a lot and you want to download a lot of movies on the go you can just buy the base 256 model and then a one terab micro SD card for $80 and you'll be able to store a lot of content on it whereas with the iPad Pro you'll have to upgrade to the much more expensive storage models more on that later both come in two color options although Samsung does not offer a silver but offers a beige instead in case you are looking for something a bit more unique than gray or silver which brings us to the display differences so we've got a 14.6 in display on the ts9 ultra as opposed to a 30-in display on the iPad Pro however despite the Samsung having a larger display I'm not necessarily seeing more content when I'm reading an article despite having both set to the more space display setting in fact the iPad does display more content in both portrait as well as landscape so I've now maxed out the brightness on both and you can probably see that the iPad is about twice as bright as the Galaxy tub S9 Ultra when browsing the web so if you plan on using them Outdoors then the iPad is going to be a much better option plus the brightness difference alone does make the iPad less reflective alongside the already less reflective glass and because of that glass viewing dark articles on the iPad is a much better experience as well now y Pro can also be configured with a nanotexture option which makes it by far the best choice for outdoor usage just look at the difference between the two where the Samsung's larger display really shines is when you're watching movies because we have a much wider 16 X10 AET ratio as opposed to 4x3 we get less letter boxing so not as much of these black bars on the top and the bottom and we also get a larger viewfinder by about 14% And when you're watching movies in HDR the brightness of the Samsung display will actually be very close to that of the iPad proses in fact the colors are a bit more vibrant on the iPad Pro which weirdly enough that was the opposite when I was reading articles this can be adjusted on the Samsung if you prefer you can pick the natural color mode on iPad you just do not have this option at all so if you need a tablet purely for watching movies as long as you plan on watching them in a fairly dark room so that you get minimum Reflections then the tastin ultra will be the superior option thanks to its aspect ratio but other than that for reading articles or using your tablet Outdoors the iPad Pro will be the better choice here plus the iPad Pro to my eye seems to also have a slightly sharper display if you look at their resolutions they're not that different so I'm thinking that the Taps sign Ultra is simply not running its OS at Native resolution hence why text can sometime appear fuzzy now the ts9 ultra does have thinner bezels than the iPad Pro at 5 mm compared to eight but it's also got a notch which I find quite funny as Apple got so much heat for introducing the Notch and now Samsung has one too more on why it's got a notch when I talk about the cameras but honestly this didn't really bother me at all unless I was watching movies in full screen uh it wasn't really an issue because of the black bars which cover the notch so if you're looking forward the tablet with the very best screen that is the iPad Pro thanks to its higher brightness and non HDR content sharper text and less reflectivity although the ts9 Ultra screen is still very good especially when you're watching movies in a dark room oh and speaking of the displays if you love the wallpapers that we have on our tablets here they're of course from our app wallpapers and part of our radiant roses and fabulous Forest packs and since then we've also launched super spaceship by Chatham a fun minimal space wallpaper pack and today we are launching prism pallet also by Chatham with 10 beautiful abstract prism wallpapers in the exact same colors as Apple's iMacs and this is why this blue one right here perfectly matches our iMac the first wallpaper from each pack is always free and you can get it in 8k and use it on all of your devices from our Apple wallpapers for IOS and Android which brings us to the keyboard which is a separate $350 purchase on boat and here the iPad Pro keyboard is Miles better in every single way except for one which is the adjustability Samsung's keyboard comes in two pieces so you've got the keyboard part and then you've also got this separate kickstand part uh which you can adjust quite a lot almost infinitely to pretty much any angle that you want whereas with the iPad Pro you just don't have anything like that like sure it's very easy to attach and detach but once you detach it there's no kickstands to prop it up or anything like that and the angle of adjustability is okay but nothing like on the Samsung tablet but aside from this everything is just so much better on the iPad Pro keyboard like I said attaching and detaching is just so much easier as it's held in place by magnets so you can quickly take it on and off then the keys also feel much nicer on the iPad Pro keyboard as they've got way more travel than on the Samsung on top of that the trackpad is a fourst trackpad so the clicks will feel the same no matter where you actually click whereas on the Samsung the clicks will feel deeper towards the bottom as opposed to the top as it's got a diving board mechanism the iPad keyboard also comes with a USBC port on the side which you can use for charging at 40 wats and it's also got a much more premium feel thanks to the metal top as opposed to the rubbery top on the Samsung keyboard and you can get it in both black and white as opposed to just black like with a Samsung Keyboard Plus the iPad's keyboard is also lighter with a tablets attached the iPad Pro weighs 1.25 1 kg as opposed to 1. 412 of the tab S9 Ultra which brings us to the pencils Samsung's pencil comes right in the Box whereas the apple pencil costs an extra $80 for the USBC version or $30 for the more feature Rich apple pencil Pro now Samsung also offers a pro S Pen but the only upside is that it works with both the ts9 and the Galaxy fold it's got a switch on it for that but other than that it's got a USBC Port so it literally cannot be charged from the ts9 and making it an actual downgrade over the bundled Spen now charging these pencils is actually quite different so with the apple pencil you just attach it to the top of the iPad that's how it charges same thing goes for the Samsung Spen but this one does not charge here to charge it you actually have to attach it to the back of the Samsung tablet this may seem odd at first but the thing is when you're using the keyboard stand it's actually got a dedicated slot for the pencil uh so it actually protects it and it prevents it from falling which I found to be a common issue when uh I'm traveling with my iPad now the apple pencil can lasts for about 12 hours when not connected to the iPad whereas Samsung's pan only lasts for 30 minutes however Samsung's Pan actually uses Wacom Tech meaning that it doesn't actually need a battery in order for it to even work aside from Bluetooth features like air gestures and navigating UI which uh will of course require a battery so Samsung San is ideal for taking notes whereas the apple pencil is geared towards artists with features such as brush head rotation taptic feedback and double tap to switch tools and it also supports professional apps like proc crates which many artists including our own wallpapers designers do use the apple pencil is arguably the Highlight feature of the iPad Pro and I would say the main reason to consider it over the TS 9 Ultra however if you simply need a pen for taking notes or navigating your tablet then the S Pen is still a great choice the never ISS charging and it comes free in the box which brings us to the cameras now I know most people will never use the cameras on their tablets I certainly never do do but if you do then uh they're both pretty poor Samsung's main camera is slightly better as it has a sharper image with less noise as well plus Samsung also has an ultra module on the back which can be handy if you're liking this on your phone the iPad Pro does have a superior flash for scanning documents if that's something that you do often and also a lighter module which can be used in certain AR apps for measuring and stuff like that you can also record in prores in case you want to edit your footage later on the iPad as you do get more flexibility that way now remember when I me mention the notch on the ts9 ultra well that's because it houses two front-facing camera modules so there's the usual camera module the normal one and then you also have an ultra module as well which can capture a lot more now on the iPad Pro you automatically have the ultra one uh and yes you can zoom that out you just don't have the normal one at all and here's a front- facing camera and a microphone test on the new M4 13in IP Pro let me know how this looks like and also how it sounds like and this is the front- facing camera test and the microphone test on the Samsung Galaxy ts9 Ultra and unlike the iPad Pro the ts9 ultra can also record in 4k 30 as opposed to just t60 on the iPad Pro so let me know which one looks better and which one sounds better too to me the Samsung looks way sharper and I got to say even though the iPad Pro does not have that dual farm- facing camera I much prefer this system on the iPad Pro as it also has face ID so you just look at it and it automatically unlocks whereas on the Samsung you have to always scan your fingerprints which to me is always slower so what about a speak speaker as well let's do a quick [Music] [Music] test so I'm actually quite surprised the iPad Pro as expected sounded better but a ts9 Ultra was extremely close in fact it was very loud very crisp and clear and yeah extremely close to the iPad Pros sound quality which brings me to the softer experience and there is so much to unpack here so to keep it simple I'm only going to talk about multitasking and app support which are the two main differences multitasking is something that you'll most certainly do given the sheer amount of screen space on both so on the TS 9 Ultra you can have three apps side by side and then you can also open up uh pretty much as many apps as you want in this floating window and you can also adjust its transparency which is quite handy of course you can also adjust your sizes to almost any format that you want so so multitasking on the ts9 ultra is very good the iPad Pros multitasking is best utilized when you enable stage manager which works just like it does on the Mac so it shows you your opened apps on the left and then you can drag these and then have them floating and you can resize them however unlike on the ts9 ultra you just cannot resize them in any way or shape that you want so you are restricted to a few and you also cannot adjust your transparency however unlike the ts9 ultra you can actually open up multiple window windows or instances of the same app which I have found quite useful which you cannot do on the ts9 ultra it both support an external display in case you need that option but keep in mind that none of them are as easy and Powerful to use with an external monitor as an actual laptop is another big difference is the app support not only are there way more native tablet apps on the iPad but even the apps that work on both do have some major differences for example slack uses the mobile layout on the ts9 ultra which just doesn't look great at all whereas on the iPad it uses the desktop layout so it looks far more optimized for the screen space other apps like Amazon are much more similar on both although there will be some UI differences in the case of eBay if you look at the navigation bar for example which is on the left on the Samsung and another big difference is that you have actual Pro apps on the iPad Pro like Final Cut Pro logic pro The Venture resolve proc crates and even some AAA games like Resident Evil Village Assassin's Creed Mirage uh so yeah it's pretty clear that the iPad Pro is the more Pro machine so to say although iPad OS still isn't as powerful as Mac OS on a MacBook and some things are just very difficult or very weird to do especially file management which brings us to the performance it is very unlikely that you'll be doing intensive video editing or tree rendering on any of these devices but if you are not only does the iPad Pro have the apps ready for that but it also has far more raw performance for example in geekbench the iPad Pro M4 chip is 18% faster in single core performance and whopping 157% faster in multicore than the tabs 9 ultra's outdated Snapdragon agent 2 chip and in 3D Mark which tests out the graphics the iPad Pro is 161% more powerful although the tabs 9 Ultra ran it noticeably cooler with a stability score of 93% compared to 78 and not only that but the iPad Pro also features a thunderbolt Port so if you do plan on transferring large files from your camera or SSD straight onto the iPad Pro you're going to get up to 40 GB per second transfer speeds as opposed to 10 on the tabs 9 Ultra so having said all of this which one gives you more value well the iPad Pro starts from $1300 for a 256 GB version and goes up to $780 if you add in the apple pencil and the magic keyboard the ts9 ultra on the other hand cost $1,200 for the base 260 GB model as well however the ts9 ultra is usually on offer Samsung had the deal for it for $10.49 not that long ago and Amazon has a lot of deals all the time so basically you can buy the ts9 ultra from around $100 to $230 less than the iPad Pro now it is very clear that a hardware that Apple has packed inside the iPad Pro is absolutely incredible even more impressive than what we've got on the MacBooks and if you're looking for a laptop replacement neither of them are going to be that but the iPad Pro is definitely the one that's a bit closer my advice is if you want to use a tablet as a laptop replacement just don't simply Buy a Microsoft Surface Pro instead and if you're graphic designer go for the new M2 iPad Air as it's going to be much cheaper and still support the apple pencil Pro and if you're looking for a great tablet for watching videos then simply go for a refurbished M1 or M2 iPad Pro that's going to be cheaper than the ts9 ultra yet give you almost all the benefits of the new M4 iPad Pro or you can also go with a tab S9 plus which is smaller more portable and still has an amazing display as well but let me know what do you guys think which one do you prefer and which one would you go for I'm Daniel Tech and I'll see you guys in the next one Z of tech signing out cheers [Music]
