greetings bulldogs my name is armand blankenship change management director in information technology and today we wanted to bring you a short tutorial a short demo on how you can log into the new secure passwordless my aamu single sign-on so this is your secure portal that you're going to access all of your student resources and all of your work resources if you happen to be on the faculty staff side so without further ado let's jump right into it so first things first with your new single sign-on portal that is passwordless and more secure you want to download the octopus authenticator app this application is going to be downloaded to your smartphone and it will register your device so that you can use it to approve a request to log in so we want to go into our cell phone at this time as you can see on the screen we're going to go to our app store and we're going to find the octopus authenticator app go ahead and download that to your smartphone and once you've downloaded the octopus authenticator app to your smartphone you're now ready to go to the second step which is to enroll your device so that you can log in so there's our octopus authenticator app it's ready and downloaded to our smartphone at this time and now we're going to move into the device enrollment aspect or step two so let's talk about that to enroll your smartphone device with the octopus authenticator app you're going to need an enrollment code and that's sent to you via email in most cases whether that's coming to a personal email address so you can enroll your device or it could be your school or work email address and you may or may not have access there but either a personal email address or your work or school email address you should be sent a enrollment code that will come from octopus authenticator and that looks a little something like this so i'm looking for this particular enrollment email and it says welcome to the new aamu passwordless my aamu sso so as you see hello armand and here are some enrollment options for me to go ahead and register my device so that i can log in so we have the first enrollment option which you can click this click here to enroll link and if you happen to be solely on your mobile phone you can click this link and enroll your app and when once you click this link this is what the page will look like on your mobile phone and you'll just click if you have a ios or apple smartphone you click the app store link here it'll take you straight to the application to download enroll or you can go to google play for your android phone so that's the first enrollment option if you're opening the email or the enrollment email strictly on your mobile phone you do have this option to enroll your device so that was the the first enrollment with the hyperlink click here to enroll the second enrollment option which is the vast majority of our end users they'll use the qr code and you'll have to scan that through the octopus authenticator app to enroll your device so let's go ahead and go to our smartphone and let's do that now so we found our octopus authenticator app we want to allow those notifications and then we want to add the account because we want to add our smartphone account and then we're scanning that qr code so you'll see two options at the bottom of the screen the one that says scan code with camera is what we want to use here so let's go ahead and do that and we have scanned that code and we'll add that account there we are we're waiting for some approval on the phone and it will tell you that it has added that account successfully so now that we have added that account through our second enrollment option by scanning the qr code you'll see that account shows up for alabama a m university and now your smartphone and your account is ready to log into my amu single sign-on portal all right bulldogs so now we move to our last step and that's step three and we want to go ahead and log in to your my amu single sign on portal and to do that what we want to do is come to the main university website at www.aamu.edu here and moved into the right hand corner of the main website and you'll see my amu you want to click that link to your single sign-on portal and when we get to the my amu single sign-on portal area you want to scroll past the tutorial video and step-by-step instructions and you want to go to your my amu sign in this is where you want to log in using your octopus authenticator app so we'll go ahead and go to the login for my portal now when you see the login screen you're going to have your username there which is going to be your first name dot last name that's what you want your login username to be yourfirstname.lastname there you'll notice that the authentication type is selected to the octopus authenticator meaning it's going to go ahead and send the approval to your cell phone through the octopus authenticator app so i put my first name dot last name in i click login it's going to send an approval code to my cell phone we want to go ahead and approve that request there it is we want to approve or click the check mark now it's going to ask you for a security measure put a fingerprint in a face scan or a pin code and the app will not work fully if you don't put that security feature in so now i've accepted the authentication approval on the octopus app on my cell phone and now the single sign-on desktop portal opens to me well i hope that this has been a very informative and concise tutorial and we wish you the best of success as you start your college career and this is how you're going to log in to the single sign-on portal moving forward it is your new secure passwordless single sign-on portal i'd like to thank you so much for your time and attention today and we look forward to the next tutorial that we'll share with you from information technology take care now
