today i'm going to talk to you a little bit about the clifton strengths team grid what it is and why it's important when we think about the vast sort of uniqueness of individuals we think about the 34 clifton strengths themes each one of us has our own unique mixture and formula that makes us different when we look at a group of people a partnership a team and we map that out all on paper the team grid gives us a great visual way to understand just how unique each of us are so when we look at the team grid right over here we think about what it shows us it's important because it puts all of our uniqueness out on paper in one place where a team leader a manager or an individual on the team can see how our themes map out differently it allows us a quick reference to be able to understand what i bring to the table the value i add what is it that i'm unique relative to my team members but also what do i have in common with these people that i work with every day if we rely upon our own sort of memory to be able to understand and sort of think about how i'm unique or different from my team members it may be tough to call the mind in the moment how i can leverage my strengths or the strengths of my teammates when working on something the team grid is a snapshot it is a visual way of recalling all that uniqueness for us to take advantage of in the moment the complexity of a strengths profile is mapped through in great detail in reports that we provide like our clifton strengths 34 report but each of us has 20 to 30 pages of unique content to dig through if i have to dig through 30 individual team members pages each time i want to understand their uniqueness that can be difficult in the moment i like to think of the team grid uh as sort of that simple thing that i can look at before i go into a meeting i think i can glance at when i'm in the middle of a conversation to remember oh yeah well that's where they're unique that's what they bring to the table so when we think about the the clifton strengths team grid it's not just a listing not just a series of numbers of individuals it's a map it's a guide to help inform where conversations can go where we can lean on team members and when we can shine ourselves if you want to learn more about the clifton strengths team grid check out the resources in the description below
