good afternoon everyone i'm maika milikeran from bachelor in elementary education now i'm presenting my demo teaching in math five okay let's start good afternoon children i can hear you again good last before we're going to start to our lesson proper i prepare a simple activity i will ask you a question okay try to look around at your surroundings what do you see or what do you observe class what is our topic for today polygon spa very good it's about polygons but we will be focusing in properties of polygon that is a regular polygon and that regular polygon now let's start to know what is a polygon can you read it class the definition of a polygon good job now i will discuss what is a polygon a polygon came from the greek word polygon poly means many and gone means angles now i will give an example here for you to understand it well okay line segment if we will combine the four line segment we can produce a polygon now let's check where's the angles of this polygon let's count okay the sides is one two three four then how about the vertex the vertex is here the color blue in the side one two three and four then the angles let's count the angles okay here one two three and four good job class and i'll give the name according to the numbers of size and angles they have we have here different kind of polygons okay class we have here equilateral triangle came from the word try means three it has three sides and three angles second is the quadrilateral triangle came from the word quad it means four it has four sides and four angles next is the pentagon penta means five it has five sides and five angles next one is the hexagon hexa means six it has six sides and six angles the next one is the heptagon hepta means seven it has seven sides and seven angles and the next one is octagon octa means eight it has eight sides and eight angles and the nonagon nona means nine and it has nine sides and nine angles and the last one is the decagon they come instead it has 10 sides and 10 angles now class do you understand what is a polygon is good job now let's proceed to the properties of polygon that is the regular polygon and the irregular polygon now let's start to the regular polygon here's the definition can you read it class okay i will give an example of the regular polygons it said that the regular polygon it has all sides are equal length and all eternal angles are equal here here's the example class what is the what is the polygon here in the slide good job it is a pentagon now let's count how many sides pentagon have okay one two three 4 now its pentagon is equal to all of the sides and angles yes good job then now i will give another example here what follow gun is this good job it's an octagon and how many side octagon have yes good job it has eight sides and eight angles so it means octagon is a regular polygon good job now let's proceed to the irregular polygon irregular polygon is an equal size it means it it is the opposite of the regular polygon i will give an example okay class here's the example let's count the sides okay one two three four five it has also five sides but the measure of each side has equal yes correct it's not equal because look at the picture it also called a pentagon but it is not an equal side so it means it is a irregular polygon okay class i'm happy because you understand our lesson okay i prepared measurement and how about the in the set b yes it's not equal because there's a four centimeter and two centimeter and all the sides of the set b is equal no it's not correct and how about in the set a yes equal because they are all two centimeter correct the polygon in the set a has all equal sides and all equal measurement and that is a regular polygon and the set b is not equal the measurement is not equal there's a poor centimeter and two centimeter signs so it is called irregular polygons now class do you understand the irregular and regular polygons now okay let's have a short activity okay can you classify the following polygons as to regular or irregular polygons okay let's start in the first picture good job it's regular polygon because it has equal sides and angles how about the second picture good job it is a regular polygons because it is not equal how about the other picture good job it is regular polygons and that another picture good job it is irregular polygons and the last picture yes good job it is a regular polygon okay very good class now can i ask you what is a polygon very good and now what is a regular polygon very good all sides are equal and the angles can
