This is Doug DiMuro, and today I'm going to tell you the top 10 cars I'm excited for in 25. The new year is here, it's all starting. What cars am I most looking forward to? Let's get started.
Today's video is sponsored by Cars and Bids, which is my online car auction website for modern enthusiast cars. So far, Cars and Bids has hosted more than 20,000 car auctions of special, cool, and interesting cars like this, and this, and this, and this. So, if you're looking to buy or sell an enthusiast car, do it on Cars and Bids. Okay, this is an ordered list of the top 10 cars I'm looking forward to this year, and I just realized this list only has 9 cars on it.
So, it's actually the top... Nine cars I'm looking forward to this year. High quality productions here. Okay, we're starting with number nine.
The ninth place car I am most looking forward to this year, the new Honda Prelude. Honda has announced there's gonna be a new Prelude, which is always kind of a cool, sporty car in the Honda lineup. I don't know if it's gonna be that exciting. They said it's gonna be a hybrid. It probably won't have an automatic transmission.
I bet it's a hybrid four-cylinder, like 200 horsepower, but a... sporty looking, attractive Honda coupe in the $30,000 to $40,000 price point segment is something to celebrate. And I have a suspicion it's going to be cool.
It may not be the most exciting light your hair on fire car, but I think it's going to be cool. And I'm legitimately looking forward to that car. I have actually kind of more positively been approaching Honda performance cars in the last few years. I loved the new Integra Type S. I think it was just great. And the new Civic was, in my opinion, a big step up over the old one, the new Civic Type R. And I, so I'm excited for Honda has shown us in the past, obviously they can make some really great high-performance cars and sporty cars.
And I'm curious what the, what they'll have in store for the Prelude. Doing a Type R or Type S Prelude, I guess Type R for Honda, would be a pretty cool thing. Maybe that's just me dreaming, a manual transmission, fast Prelude, but it'll still be cool to have maybe a little bit more sport and a little bit kind of quirky and interesting injected into the Honda lineup.
Next up, number eight car I am most excited about. Coming up this year, the new McLaren W1. Now, I've recently made a video that I personally am not particularly excited about all the modern hypercars, and I've got McLaren fatigue, but as a car reviewer, there's a lot to love about the McLaren W1.
For one thing, obviously the video will get big views, and I'm excited to get behind the wheel of a crazy car like that and drive it, but also, McLarens notoriously are full of absolutely bizarre and interesting quirks. They always put weird, cool, sometimes they're gimmicky, sometimes they're just awesome stuff in the cars, like the McLaren Speedtail mirror cameras and three seats and, you know, the carbon fiber, the paint actually curls on the Speedtail. There's so many cool things about that car. The Senna with its straw that you could drink from.
I mean, there's so many cool things about some of the modern McLarens. And the W1 is going to be like the winning, the leading car, like the hyper car, top position vehicle, you know, like where the P1 was 10 years ago. And so I'm excited to see for the kind of top of the lineup car, what cool things does McLaren give us? I think that'll be interesting. Of course, the W1 is also exciting because it has like 1,300 horsepower from a twin-turbo hybrid V8.
So it should be fast. It should be fun. It should be a total thrill and probably full of crazy quirks.
And the video does well. That's a win for everybody. That's going to be fun.
Next up, number seven car I'm most looking forward to this year, 25, the new Tesla Roadster. which I am assuming may finally come out in 25, I'm hoping. You know, Tesla announced this car like in 19 or something like that. It's been like five years since we've heard about the Tesla Roadster. And at the time they were talking about a thousand horsepower as sort of a target for it.
Thousand horsepower ain't nothing no more. Everybody's got a thousand horsepower. There's a Corvette with a thousand horsepower now, and a McLaren W1 and a Ferrari F80 and a lot of other stuff. Honestly, sedans have a thousand horsepower.
The Lucid Air Sapphire has one, two, three, four horsepower. But... I'm still really pumped for the idea of the Tesla Roadster.
I hope they're still committed to making it. I think it's a cool car. I've always thought it looked cool.
I think there could be a lot of really great stuff that comes out of that. Tesla, obviously, is more focused on volume vehicles like the refreshed Model 3 and Model S, Model Y, Model X. And Roadster would not be a volume car. It would be definitely like a low production, you know, niche play.
But it would be cool to see it and to finally drive it and play with it. And I hope they... still commit to doing it and I hope that it comes out because I really would love to review that car.
I always get a kick out of reviewing Teslas. They are always interesting. They always have cool stuff that nobody else has thought of and they always inspire an enormous amount of excitement, vitriol, reactions from the audience. Okay, next up on the same subject, number six, car I am most excited to review this year to check out.
The new Jaguar whatever it is. The new Jaguar concept cars that they've just announced. These are being only shown in concept form, kind of as renderings, but I also assume that Jaguar can't go too long without actually coming out with a production car. Like, they're selling off old inventory, they're not really making much anymore, they really kind of need new products to show up. So I have to assume, even though it's only been shown in concept form up to this point...
This new Jaguar is probably coming out pretty soon, and I am really excited to shoot it. It's a rebirth of a brand. They obviously are going to have to do some weird and interesting and cool stuff in order to make it a compelling car. Just the way it looks is pretty crazy, and I am excited to see sort of a reborn, reimagined new Jaguar with new interiors and new tech and new performance and a new look. I think that should be a very, very interesting car to spend time with, to get behind the wheel and to review.
And so I am very excited to drive that car. Even though... The Jaguar relaunch of the brand has been kind of panned or criticized.
I'm holding out hope that there is something interesting and exciting and unusual with these cars, and I'm interested to see what happens. Next up, number five car I am most excited for this year, that would be the new Scout models. which I am hoping that I get the chance to drive this year. I think they're not coming until 26, but I'm hoping that as the journalist and maybe at the end of 25, I think announcing a car in the middle of 24 that's not coming for two years is a massive mistake. Like to me, you announce something kind of right before you launch it.
You don't get people all excited and then they wait and then other stuff comes out to get them excited in the meantime. Like they should announce and launch. It should be pretty close to that cadence, but that's not what happened. And nonetheless, I'm hoping that comes out soon. Electric cars have gotten some criticism lately.
The market has kind of shifted away from them, but cool electric cars are still cool cars. And the Rivians are cool. Nobody says they're not. And Cybertruck is definitely cool and crazy and head-turning.
I'm excited to see what Scout can do. I'm excited to see those things in production. They seem even more adventure-focused and off-road-focused and capable than the Rivians.
I don't know if that's going to be true, but that's sort of how they're being pitched. And I'm excited to see if that comes to fruition. I'm really excited to get behind the wheel of those cars.
And as a person who appreciates quirks and features, I know that modern EVs with craziness, there's always some, you know, interesting ideas and concepts that are integrated into these cars that not everybody thinks about. And so I'm excited to see what Scout comes up with and how these cars kind of distinguish themselves from the already existing, you know, electric off-roaders. And I have a suspicion they're going to be really cool. Next up, number four cars I am most excited about reviewing this year. the new Bugatti Tourbillon.
I mentioned earlier in a previous video that I'm not particularly in love with all the modern hypercars. There's so many of them, but Bugatti is the first, the best, the always. And the Veyron was cool.
The Chiron was cool. The Tourbillon will be amazing. Also worth pointing out, the Chiron video that I did when it was a new car back in 18 is still one of my all-time most popular videos. I think people just love to see what those cars are all about. And I got to be honest, I love to find out what those cars are all about.
And I am absolutely incredibly excited to, even though I think the name is kind of weird, the whole watch thing, and I wish that it looked a little more distinctive from the Chiron, I am sure it's going to have an enormous amount of amazing tricks up its sleeve to justify its crazy price tag and its sort of market occupation as like one of the coolest cars in the world. And I am always excited to review one of the coolest cars in the world. Simple as that.
I am very pumped. to see what Bugatti has in store for that car when I can finally drive it. Next up, number three, cars I'm most excited for this year, the Ford Mustang Raptor. This is apparently a real thing. Ford apparently is actually planning on building an off-road trucky version of the Mustang.
And it's not going to be like an electric Mach-E with some knobby tires. Apparently, they're going to do like a Mustang body on like an off-roader type vehicle. There's not a lot of details out there about it. but they've really already teased it and kind of talked about it.
And apparently this is coming. No idea if it's going to be V8, rear wheel drive, manual transmission, any of that stuff. But the mere concept of a Raptor Mustang is just, it leaves me salivating as a car enthusiast and as a car reviewer. How, this thing is going to be insane. How are we not just like foaming at the mouth?
I know I am. I am truly excited for a Mustang Raptor. just the mere concept of it seems crazy.
And I'm thrilled that Ford would be so crazy as to build it. I hope they really are. I hope it really happens.
But if it does, it's going to be quite an amazing situation. All right, number two, back down to the top two cars I am excited to review and check out this year. But number two is the Rivian R2 and the R3.
Now, I recently released a video where I did like a full tour of the Rivian R2, but... They don't have a drivable one yet. Nobody's getting behind the wheel and actually reviewing this car fully. It was a total pre-production model.
They were telling me, like, stuff's going to move and change. Like, this is not ready for prime time yet. But I am tremendously excited to see how Rivian is going to do this to basically scale down the R1 and how it's going to feel and drive.
And the R3 is even cooler, in my opinion. I don't think that's coming in 25. I think it's later. But, yeah. Rivian has these two cool new models. You know, the Rivian brand has been one of the electric vehicle success stories.
People are into them. People think they're cool. People think even, even as EVs have kind of entered the end of their honeymoon phase, Rivians are still popular and cool and exciting to people. And they're following up R1 with a very desirable R2 in this littler SUV. And based on how much, based on just spending time with it, with the pre-production model, I am very excited and interested in how the production car will actually be.
And even more so for the R3, which is also interesting and quirky in its own way, but, you know, even further from production. Rivian has already proven they can build a very capable, very desirable, very interesting car. And I'm really curious because the R2 is going to be a big seller.
Like everybody wants an R1. They're so cool, but they're expensive. Scaling that down to make the R2 is going to be a big deal. And I'm excited to see kind of how Rivian pulls off like a very special volume-minded car or...
like the R2. And finally, the number one car I am most excited about in 25, the new Ferrari F80. Again, I've said I'm not really that into hypercars.
Here I am saying I'm very excited about three of them. But the Ferrari F80 is a particularly exciting car. As someone who has always been a fan of Ferrari, I owned one. I've always been all over the Ferrari forums. I've always followed the history of the brand.
I love Ferrari. A new super Ferrari, top of the line thing, doesn't come out all that often. In fact, it comes out maybe only every 10 years.
And as a car reviewer, this is the first time that I have ever been reviewing cars when a new Super Ferrari came out. The LaFerrari was just before I started to review new cars. And this is exciting to be part of a new Super Ferrari coming out.
Not that I'm part of it as someone who's reviewing it, but be there when a new one... Imagine if you had been around and reviewing cars when the F40 came out and you were one of the first to drive. That's exciting.
And I think that's, it's not quite as exciting with the F80 that it's hybrid and all that, but it's got 1200 horsepower from a twin turbo V8. I think it looks awesome. And I know that as a super Ferrari, it's going to be like the highest tech thing they could imagine.
And it's going to have a lot of really cool tricks up its sleeve. And, you know, I mean, I remember when Enzo came out, I remember F50 as a really little kid. And this is like that, like this is a new brand new super Ferrari is on the level of those cars.
And it's exciting and it's special. And it's amazing to just. be in the car space when a super Ferrari comes out.
And I am definitely the most excited for that car this year. And I absolutely cannot wait to get behind the wheel and to check out all the quirks and features of the new F80. So there you go. That's my list of the top 10, really nine, cars that I am the most excited about coming out or soon to be coming out. Some are 26, early 26, I hope, but in 25. I cannot wait to get behind the wheel of all these cars and review them.
Of course, there's a lot more cool new stuff coming out this year. that I also think will be special, but these are the ones that I am most looking forward to as we enter into 25. It's going to be a fun year of car reviews. Let's go.
