This is how to register for the FIFA agent exam in five easy steps. I'm Dr Serhat Yilmaz, a sports law specialist and the director of sports agent education here at Loughborough University, delivered in collaboration with Johan Cruyff Institute. Here is everything you need to know.
You need to create your individual candidate profile on the FIFA agent platform. It's free to register on the platform and by doing this you create your FIFA agent account. Now you are ready to submit a license application. You need to do this to start the licensing process which the agent exam is part of.
When you make the application, you need to select the member association aka the football association. that you want to sit the exam with. If you want to do the exam in England, choose the English FA. The license application is also free of charge at this stage.
Once your license application is submitted, FIFA and your selected member association will verify your eligibility for the FIFA agent license. Each candidate needs to comply with the eligibility requirements outlined under the FIFA Football Agent Regulations. It is important that you check the requirements and see if you cannot comply with any of them. Once the eligibility requirements are verified by FIFA and your member association, you will be ready to take the exam.
The exam is online. but you need to take it in person in a physical exam venue. The exam is administered by your selected member association.
Your association will write to you in advance with details of the venue, date and time of the exam. You may need to pay an exam fee if requested by your member association to be able to take it. Some associations may not charge a fee. If you do need to pay a fee, The association will send you instructions on how to do so. On the day of the exam, you need to be in the exam menu physically and sit the exam online via the FIFA agent platform.
Once the exam is done, it's results time. FIFA usually takes a couple of weeks to release the exam results, which you will be notified of on the FIFA agent platform. Once you have passed the exam, you enter the final stage of the licensing process. And in order to obtain the license, you need to pay the license fee.
This fee is a separate fee to the exam fee and is payable to FIFA. You must pay it via FIFA agent platform within 90 days of passing your exam. Otherwise, your license...
application will be automatically declared void. After you have paid the fee, your football agent license will be issued by FIFA. That's it. Once you complete these five steps, you are officially a licensed football agent.
