Piano Lesson on a Song's Introduction and Verse

Introduction

Right Hand

  • Starts on F, an octave above middle C.
  • Notes sequence: F, C, B flat, F.
  • Fast sequence: B flat, C, D, C, B flat, C.
  • Repeat sequence twice.

Left Hand

  • Four main chords with a passing chord at the end:
    1. G minor (G, B flat, D)
    2. B flat major (B flat, D, F)
    3. E flat major (E flat, G, B flat)
    4. B flat major (B flat, D, F)
    5. F major (F, A, C) (passing chord – sometimes appears)

Combining Both Hands

  • F and G minor together
  • F and B flat major together
  • F and B flat minor together
  • D and F major together
  • Second half of the introduction is the same, except without the passing F major chord.
  • Play F and B flat major chord together to conclude.

Verse

Right Hand (First part)
