Son Goku Figure Review and Insights

Hey everyone. Today we're taking a look at the Son Goku, the lowest Born Saiyan. Uh, this figure is, I think, Target and Walmart exclusive. Um, I bought it at my Walmart, local Walmart here in uh in Indiana, and I got it for $35. And, um, this is another another Goku of the many Goku we ever we we got so far this year. And, uh, yeah, let's check it out. See what what what new things come out out of this uh, figure. All right. Out of the box, we have our typical Goku for $35. We only have very minimal amount of accessories. We have uh six hands on the right and we have three nice looking uh face plates on the left. And we also have an extra hairpiece that I think it's I seen it before. It's coming from I think the um the effects uh the the extra like Kamehameha effects and and kicks uh that we saw a few uh a few months back. So yeah, that's all we have out of the box for this figure. Here's a quicker look at the face plates, and I think these are the best looking base form um face plates we have so far. Uh compared to, you know, seven, eight years ago, Race on Earth Goku. And uh yeah, I mean, for a $35, that's I mean, that's pretty much what I expect. Just little up upgrades here and there. Um yeah, the face plates, they look really good. Very anime like aesthetic. understand that this is the Goku that came to save the sea fighters after Napa almost destroy you know half of the sea fighters at that time and that he just comes to rescue Gohan and Krillin. So just just take a note of that which that this is the the Goku that we're seeing in this figure. Now we have the angry Goku which doesn't look that bad at all. Look at it. What do you guys think? Next, we have a screaming Goku. And as you can see, they again the you can't compare uh the other Goku that I show you with this one. They just look so it has a lot more expression to it. And at last, we have the side eye Goku face plate. And uh yeah, that's all the accessories for the face plates that we have so far. Before I forget, I wanted to show you the hair scope and how it looks on the on the face plates right here. Um, I I just noticed that this one uh the one that where he's uh looking sideways or side giving you the side eye, it's uh it's actually part of the um one of the scenes where he's actually doing a staredown with Vegeta when they're about to uh start fighting in the Saiyan arc. I also want to show you that these face plates are also compatible with this hair scope as well. For articulation, let's start with the head. Um, it rotate it can actually rotate uh 360 degrees. Um, just like that. It can just do some tilt as well. Um, it can go as as far as as far down or it can go this high as well. And then um the neck has uh has articulation as well, but just just not as as much as um as we wanted to. Again, you can still pull off some nice um um poses with this one. Uh again, the neck peck is in a hinge, so be careful not to break it cuz I've seen people breaking these kind of Gokus uh so easily by just um misaligning the the the the head and just trying to push it down and just, you know, breaking it. Then we have some butterfly in the arms, which um they extend this far. You can actually well you can actually hug you can't he can hug himself but it's plenty for you to do you know kamehameha uh poses. Then you have bicep swivel that can go all the way as well and some good um elbow um bend as well. Again we have some wrist articulation too and it's on a hinge so be careful not to break it. arms can create a T just in case someone wants to know that if it's actually possible. Then for the app crunch, you can go this far and it rotates too as well. Um, I modified my version so it can go even beyond that because I I did a modification inside the joint in in this area here. So, the only the way you can do it is just heat it up, take it out, and then you're going to see like a hinge inside, and there's going to be like a piece of plastic that you just going to end up cutting it, and then you'll be able to have better articulation. Um, like this one. Again, you're going to have a a huge gap on the back when you're doing those poses, but if you're able to, you know, hide it while doing those poses, then you're good. You're going to have a better uh articulation with this Goku. Then the waist it can um it barely rotates on my copy. Um again it's I don't usually um it's necessary for me but uh for some people it is but yeah mine doesn't doesn't do the rotation from the bottom this area right here. So yeah. And at last we have the articulation in the legs. As you can see you can actually push the legs up this much. Uh again, they're going to go a little bit sideways because you have this uh restriction in this area of the waist. Um but you they can go all the way um you know all the way in the back and just rotate. Um it also can go sideways like this much. I don't know if you can see it. Yep. And then it has some like nice thigh swivel. Again, that's for the other one as well. I didn't have any issues with mine. It's super tight on every single articulation or joint. So, I mean, again, you might find something that is kind of kind of loose here and there, but overall, this this figure is pretty solid. And then we have this uh knee articulation, which it actually does does the job of a knee. And again, you can put it on nice, cool poses once, you know, you start playing around with it. And then you have the the toe um joint. This is again, that's something that is kind of dated to me. Um it just it just rocks. So there's no I mean I don't know like it just it just doesn't like flow with me. It just doesn't articulate nicely. And then you have this toe hinge which is um it's kind of useful. It's not you know I might as well have it than not have it at all. So yeah there you have it. That's all the articulation that this Goku has. Okay. So this part of this video just to show you a couple poses that I I able to um accomplish with this figure. Uh the first one is pretty neutral. That's when he's doing the stare down with Vegeta. Then we have his famous u martial artist pose, which is um this one. I I'm not sure what it's called, honestly. Uh just I just know it's just a pose, an iconic pose that a lot of people want to do with this figure. Uh the only thing I just don't like how the butt looks cuz it's just that extra piece here. So, um you know, it's just depending how you pose it. I usually gonna again it's also the pose and the angle of the camera. So, might as well I just uh what I do I just pose it like this or like this more or less uh when I taking pictures. So, what do you guys think? Uh maybe what I'm probably going to do is remove these things here and be able and to see if I'm able to pose it even better. All right, so I end up removing these pieces and um overall it actually it actually looks better like that. Um, I I guess you know if you want to pose it differently, just just remove those pieces right there on the back and it looks more natural, I guess. Even though for this uh pose is kind of, you know, it's a it's a strange pose, but it looks really badass to be honest. Um, but I don't know. I don't know. It looks very uh it looks more natural. Um, what do you guys think? Let me know down in the comments. Here's a Kamehameha pose. Um, and again this one I end up uh taking out this uh the pieces on the bottom. You don't have to. It's optional. I just wanted to try it out. See if it's actually I can actually push the articulation even more. But um it looks kind of it looks good. Again, I don't have the nice fancy like uh angle with my camera because I just want to show you really quick how it looks. But, uh, so far it's, uh, it's pulling, you know, it's pulling those poses, those iconic poses of of Goku, you know, doing his, uh, his, uh, moves, his special moves, you know, the Kamehameha. And at last, we have the last pose, and this is just a generic martial artist pose. Uh, pretty simple to do. Literally, I just have to move the hands and swap some uh um, you know, just move the arms and swap some hands. And, uh, I pretty much got it down to where I wanted to. So, it's actually that's how it looks on the on the side on the side and this how it looks on actually this is how I'm going to pose it if I do some uh reals or shorts or pictures cuz it looks pretty pretty good to me. Um this is pretty standard. Um again, um this figure has a modification on the back. So, I was able to pull the the abc crunch just a little bit more to to get that nice aggression uh pose in here. So yeah, if you want to do the the mod, you can find it on YouTube or probably, you know, if you ask me, you know, in the comments, I might be able to do a short a short about it. And uh yeah, uh what do you guys think about this post? Let me know down in the comments. Now, we have a size comparison with other Gokus that I have in my collections. I know I have a lot more than what I'm showing you here, but I just want to just letting you letting you know that this is the same body through and through and the only changes that they do is, you know, like color changes, logo changes, and and different head swaps. Uh, except for this one. This one is a 3.0 body, which is one of the newest bodies that Goku has currently. And actually, that looks really good. And I hope that it's going to be the standard for now on. Next, I wanted to show you a size comparison of the sea fighters with Goku. Uh, I know that Goku didn't see them alive when he arrived, but I just wanted to show you that they're here together. And I know that Krillin is not from that specific timeline of the Saiyan saga, but um I hopefully that Tamachi Nations will release that specific Krillin uh pretty soon. I mean, if they already release that Goku, why not release that that Krillin? I mean, there's not many I mean, there's not many changes that they can make. You know, just get rid of the shirt underneath the his ghee and that be that'd be it. You know, they they get a nice uh grilling in that uh specific timeline. And at last, we have the villains. Well, not most of the villains, but I mean, we have his son right here on the on the side. But, uh yeah, size comparison with Scout Vegeta. Uh, I'm sorry I don't have the original base form uh uh head sculpt, but um I put the Super Saiyan just to do, you know, like a what if scenario from the Sparking Zero game. And then I have the 24K uh power level Vegeta with a couple like custom uh pieces in for his shoulders. And then on the right, we have again, like I said, uh Nappa um which he's actually one of the biggest uh figures in this line. Okay, I mean not in my collection, but in just on this concise comparison and the tiniest one, it's uh Kid Gohan and and what can I say? Um, you know, I like how this looks. Uh, I think that uh Vegeta should be a little bit shorter, but um again, Tamachin Nations doesn't, you know, doesn't respect the scale comparison or the the scale size for uh some of the characters here. My final thoughts about this Goku is just it's just another Goku. It has a it's it's a Goku from a specific uh part of the timeline from Dragon Ball Z. And if you are collecting every single Goku from different parts of the timeline, like you know, from Dragon Ball Z, you know, different arcs or sagas, uh this has to be in your collection because, you know, it has the the new logos. It has great looking face plates and, you know, overall it's a it's the same but refined. That's that's that's the words that I have to say. So yeah, if you want to, you know, get it, it's currently at Target in Walmarts in the US. So yeah, just go and walk into a Walmart and you can find it on the collectible aisle and hopefully you are be able to to find it cuz you know they're they're probably hitting the Midwest right now. Um I live in Indiana. So yeah, uh it's a $35 Goku figure and I don't know what else to say but you know get it if you are really huge fan of Dragon Ball and Goku. Okay, I hope you like this video and uh thank you for watching. I'll see you guys next time.
