Overview

Notebook LM is a new platform by Google that aims to revolutionize note-taking and information management using AI.
Traditional tasks like organizing, formatting, and searching for notes are expected to become obsolete with the use of Notebook LM.

AI-Powered Note-taking: Uses AI models like Gemini.
Source Grounded AI: Draws knowledge from selected documents ensuring information is from trusted sources.
Integration with Google Services: Uses documents from Google Drive, PDFs, and text from other sources.
Conversational Interface: Similar to ChatGPT but more refined for specific document-driven tasks.
Document Upload Limit: Up to 20 documents, each with a max of 200,000 words.

**Sign-Up Process:
- Visit notebooklm.google.com
- Create an account or sign in with an existing Gmail account.
- Currently available for users in the US, 18 years or older.
**Interface Overview:
- Notebooks: Separate spaces for different projects.
- Sources Column: Add documents from Google Drive, upload PDFs, or paste text.
- Main Conversational Box: Interact with AI for summaries, outlines, and detailed answers.
- Pinned Area: Save important AI responses for quick reference.

Click the plus button in the sources column to add documents from various sources.
You can select up to 20 documents to use simultaneously.
The AI generates a summary and key topics from the added documents.

Ask Questions and Get Summaries: Example: “Create an outline of the main ideas related to personal preparation for climate change.”
Suggested Questions: AI offers question prompts related to the documents.
Custom Formats: AI can rewrite content in different formats (poem, narrative, FAQ).
