Overview of Class 11 English Poems

Hi everyone welcome to my channel I am Simran Sahani and today I will teach you class 11 English poem named a photograph written by Shirley Towson okay so in this poem our poetess has told us about her mother about mother and about a photograph. That's why the name of the poem is photograph. So what happens in this poem? His mother is no more and he is remembering his mother.

He is remembering a kind of memory. What does he remember? That there was a photo of his mother in which he was She had gone on a beach holiday and had two sisters, her mother's sisters.

She says that when my mother was alive, she used to see that photograph and she used to be very happy to see it. She used to remember her childhood, that we went to roam around and how we have prepared ourselves. She used to laugh at that photograph. At that time, she was almost 12 years old.

And what do our poets remember? They remember their mother laughing at that photo. So, in this you will understand that you have to remember two things in two ways.

One is that he explains to his mother that how she used to remember her lost childhood. And our poetess remembers her mother that how when she was alive, she used to spend time with her. And she remembers her laughter as she used to laugh while looking at the photo.

Okay, and that's what she wrote this poem on. So, let's read. It is a very simple, easy and very beautiful poem. So, the cardboard shows me how it was. Now here cardboard means photograph.

See what happens, sometimes the photograph is pasted on the cardboard, so that the photograph is stored properly. Means this is a very old photo, you understand, this is the photo of his mother, who was also 12 years old when she was a poetess. So, if the photo is not stored properly, then it must have been put on the cardboard. So, she is calling that photograph cardboard. So, the cardboard shows me how it was when the two girl cousins went and each one holding one of my mother's hand and she the big girl some 12 years or so they say cardboard chose me means in the photo what was seen that when two girl cousins means two girl cousins and their mother went to roam somewhere on the beach each one holding one of my mother's hand means their two mothers each one was holding their mother's hand and mother was in between them she the big girl some 12 years or so and at this time they were in between them and they were in between them and they were in between them 12 years old.

Let's move on. All three stood still to smile through their hair at the uncle with the camera. And what is she doing in the photo? What pose is she giving?

Consider this is your photo. This is the mother of our poetess. These are her two.

So, she is saying that all three of them have hair in their hair because they are at the beach at that time. So, those three are smiling like this so that their uncle who is taking the photo, a good photo of them comes. A sweet face my mother's that was before I was born. So, my mother's face looked so beautiful in it.

That is after the time when I was not born. Obviously, when their mother is 12 years old, she was not born at that time. Ok. Now, what does she say?

What else was seen in that photo? Obviously, it is a photo of the beach, so what will be seen on it? The sea will be seen.

Now, she tells something about the sea, which was seen in that photo, in that cardboard photo. And the sea which appears to have changed less, was there terribly transient field? From here, a lot of questions are going to come in the exam. Now, she says that the sea is there, the sea is in that photo, if I go to the same place today, then the sea will look the same. And what was the sea doing?

What was the waves of the sea doing? Was washing the feet of my mother and the two girls, the maasiyas. Because it happens when we go to the beach, waves come and keep coming on our feet. So, she is saying the same thing that waves were coming on their feet in that photo. But here they have hidden a meaning.

Here they have said, and the sea which appears to have changed less was the terribly transient wind. Now, behind the feet, It is written behind the legs, terribly transient. What does this mean? Transient means something that is not permanent.

Here she is trying to say that human life is not permanent. Today her mother is not with her, in that photo she is her mother. and its waves. So she is saying that my mother is not with me today but if I go to the sea today, then it will be the same, it has not changed. Here she is showing us the permanence of nature, that nature is so beautiful and nature is everlasting and our human life is not permanent.

Somewhere she is mourning this, that her mother is not there with her. Okay, so she says this, and the sea which appears to have changed, the sea, that has not changed, nature remains permanent. Okay, what's there?

Washed there, who are they? Their mother and sisters. Terribly transient feet.

Transient means non-permanent feet. How can a person's feet be non-permanent? We are not here today, we will not be here tomorrow.

So she is explaining this thing. There will be a lot of questions in this exam, so for the question answers, you can check the first comment. There you will get the video of the question answers.

You will get all the questions of this poem in your exam. So let's read the poem now. Before that, you can see the meaning of paddling here. Paddling means paddling on the beach. Now let's read the next poem.

some 20-30 years later she would laugh at the snapshot see betty and dolly she would say and look how they dressed this for the beach so we yad karni ho kehte 20-30 saal jab beat chuke the niggi when her mother was married and our author was born she said that even then after 30 years whenever she saw this photo what she called the photo here is snapshot the photo is called snapshot like snapchat you understand so this is called snapshot she said she used to see the snapshot and used to laugh and used to say see Look at Betty and Dolly, who is Betty and Dolly? They must be their aunties. And look how they prepared us for the beach.

So, what is she saying? Look how they, who are they? It means the parents of the poetess's mother.

So, they must be her grandparents. Look how they prepared us for the beach holiday. So, she used to laugh like this.

Now, let's move on. The sea holiday was her past. Mine is a laughter.

This is the deepest line of this poem. The sea holiday was her past. Who is her?

Our poet's mother. Poetess's mother. Okay.

Here. Mine is her laughter. And what is her past for her?

Her mother's laughter. Like when she was alive, she used to laugh. Both writhe with labored ease of loss. It means both writhe. Writhe means to be worried, to cry.

with labored ease of loss means for their own loss what their mother lost? her childhood and what they lost? their mother so she says both cry we both get worried she used to cry, I am not of this loss this loss happened with us means she is very sad because her mother is not with her so with this this second stanza is complete, now let's read third stanza Now she's been dead nearly as many years as that girl lived and of this circumstance there's nothing to say at all. It's silent silences.

So now she's dead nearly as many years as that girl lived. who tells their mother that their death is almost as many years as the death of that girl. Which girl? The girl who was photographed.

So in the photograph, her mother was 12 years old, so she is trying to say that she has been dead nearly as many years as that girl. That is, it must have been almost 12 years, now her mother is alive. And of this circumstance, there is nothing to say at all.

And now in this circumstance, they have nothing to say. It's silence silences. The This peace that has been created in her life, this emptiness has been created in her life, she is very much worried about this thing that her mother is not with her.

So, this is what she has told us through this poem. Last line she says, Now she has been dead nearly as many years as that girl lived. That means almost 12 years have passed.

And of this circumstance, there is nothing to say at all. She can't say anything on this thing. And she is very much worried and silent.

She doesn't cry, she is very calm and there is emptiness in her life. So with this, this poem is complete. Class 11 English poem The Liburnum Top So this is a very simple poem In this we have seen a scenario where a bird sits on a Liburnum tree And it becomes completely lifelike Before the bird came, the tree was completely still In the afternoon, there was no wind, nor were the leaves shaking from the wind Nor are there many seeds on it This is a poem of September In September, the autumn season starts. The seeds of the laburnum tree are falling and the tree looks lifeless in the afternoon.

When a goldfinch bird comes on the bird, it is very scared because it has a nest inside it. and feed their children. They bring some food to feed them. Then the tree and the atmosphere that looks so beautiful starts to tremble because of that bird. So this is what is told in the poem.

Now who is the poet of this poem, you will tell me in the comment section quickly. And I will teach you quickly our poem The Laburnum Top. I hope you have ever seen a laburnum tree.

If you have seen in your surroundings, then tell me. This laburnum tree looks something like this. So this is our laburnum tree. Whoever has seen it, it looks very beautiful. It has yellow flowers.

If you see in the sun, then it looks like gold. Like gold leaves. is type say take a the laburnum top is silent quite still the silent will excite Sean will occur quite will occur still will occur to team sharp use correct a a key part botanic elia keep hot be John's a lagrata us some a me bopped the laburnum top is silent matlab you are quite much the way is still matlab you in the afternoon yellow September sunlight a few leaves yellowing all its seeds fallen So here the poet has told us how the tree was at that time The top part of the laburnum was silent, quiet and still It was afternoon, it was afternoon, so obviously there was no sunlight. And it was the month of September.

So here afternoon yellow means that it is yellowish yellow in the afternoon. The sun is shining everywhere. It means yellow. And September sunlight means that the atmosphere was very yellowish.

The shade was coming everywhere. And the leaves of this tree are yellow anyway. But we are told that somewhere we are given a hint of the autumn season. I think.

that a few leaves yellowing, kuch leaves naa kharaab ho jati hai, jaise aap dekha hai jab patiya kharaab ho jati hai to yello ho jati hai and all seeds fallen. and the seeds start falling, as the leaves come, all the leaves are wilted, yellow, orange, and the seeds start falling. So this is the month, you understand that the leaves are going to start falling. By the way, these leaves are yellow in color, but when they also wilt, their color will be dull, so their dull color is looking more like yellow in this shade, and all the seeds have fallen, there is a very beautiful atmosphere on this tree.

Autumn is also coming and what is happening with yellow yellow, there is sunlight here, it is afternoon time, in poems, evening is seen, night is seen, morning time is seen, the wind is blowing in the poems. Have you ever heard of any poem in the afternoon, at 2 o'clock in the day? No, this does not happen anywhere. In the poem, the atmosphere is like a love affair.

In this poem, we are shown the atmosphere in the afternoon when no one comes out of the house in the sun. That time is being explained here. Such a very still quiet atmosphere is there in our laburnum tree and around the tree.

Okay, let's read ahead what happens now? Till the goldfinch comes. So see here this line has to be continued at once.

I have done it on the second page The lemur top is silent, quiet, in the afternoon, in yellow, seeds are fallen till Till means it was silent till that the bird does not come Till the goldfinch comes So they say that it was only for a while until the goldfinch came So now we know what happens when the goldfinch comes Till the goldfinch comes with a twitching chirrup Twitching chirrup means that the bird makes a sound The whole body moves in a sudden manner. So, the whole bird comes and starts to chirp. A suddenness, a startlement at a branch end.

A suddenness is a movement and startlement starts at the end of the branch. You must have seen that the bird comes and sits on the tree. So, it doesn't go inside the tree at once, it comes out and sits on the edge of the branches of the tree. It looks here and there whether there is anyone or not, there is no danger. So, that is the suddenness inside the bird.

The bird comes here and there and looks at the bird. Okay, so there is movement there. Then sleek as lizard and alert and abrupt she enters the thickness and a machine startup Now you won't understand what is happening here Then sleek as lizard Have you seen lizard?

How it moves? I don't understand from where it moves It is sleek If lizard moves from the same place then you won't know There will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement, there will be no sound of movement She enters the thickness, thickness means the bird enters the tree and then a machine starts up. And as soon as the bird enters the tree, that is, when it enters the thick tree, the machine starts up. Now you say what is there in the tree? Here is the machine, the bird's nest and the small children of the bird, who were waiting for her to bring food, so they were happy to see their mother, how far her mother had gone to get food, so they were meeting her for a long time, so the children started to pee in the nest.

And they were hungry too, that's why they were peeing. Along with that, there is also a machine startup here, that when the children peed, the children must have been in the nest before, when they came to tell the still quiet tree, till then there was some calm atmosphere. But as soon as the mother goldfinch came, the atmosphere was like some birds were singing. So happiness came there, he was still happy. So what did he say?

Machine startup. So what things have started in the machine startup exam? So first the children were happy that the food has come, they were happy to see the mother.

Third, the dull atmosphere, the lifeless atmosphere, the afternoon was still quite silent. Now it had completely changed into a lifelike moment. So, what happens is that the machine starts up.

Now, the machine starts with chittering. The small birds also start chittering. Tremor of wings, they start moving their legs because they were hungry. And trillings, so they do the whole movement that their mother has come, now they will get food.

The whole tree trembles and thrills. Now, you see the contrast here. The tree above is still, quiet and this and that.

Now, how did the tree become? It trembles and thrills. It became thrilling.

When it gets thrilling, for an adventurous thing, we say it is a thrilling adventure so now the tree is very lifelike there is a lot of movement in the tree you can also assume that the environment around the tree is happy it is not inactive now it is the engine of a family who is it? the same gold pinch bird that came that is the engine of our family why is it called engine? because it is feeding its children it is bringing food so the way the scooty and whatever In our vehicles, there is an engine. Until we feed it with petrol, it won't run or diesel. So, in the same way, these kids, they are called machines.

And the engine is their mother, who is bringing food and starting the whole machine. Okay. She stalks it full then flirts out to a branch end. What does stalk mean?

Stokes is a verb which means to fuel something. Like if you are not filling petrol, you are stoking it up. So, they have written that they called the children a machine. And their Goldfinch bird stoke it. Means they fed the children.

So, they called the scenario of feeding the children as stokes it up. Means the machine of the children, they fed the Goldfinch bird as much as they wanted to feed. Then it flirts out. It means it runs out. It doesn't mean that it is flooding.

she flies out of the house to a branch end means she reaches the branch end of the branch because her job was to feed the kids in the afternoon so she feeds the kids so Stokes Stokes it full is the process in which the mother goldfinch bird feeds the children. Like we put petrol in the scooter or fill the oil for any machine to run. Similarly, the children are machines, they feed them what they need to eat. And the mother goldfinch bird is also an engine because who is running the train, the engine is running.

So, it is a way of enjoying the family. If she wants to take care of her family and she wants to have children and she wants to eat well, then who is she bringing? Mother Goldfinch Bird.

So, let's come back to this. Then flirts out to a branch end. She comes to the end of the branch showing her barret face identity mask. What does this mean? This is a very different type of bird.

It is yellow in color. If it sits on the tree of Liburnum, you will not even see it. Because the leaves of Liburnum are also yellow and the whole bird is also yellow.

One thing that you can identify is that it has a black strip near its eyes. You can see this in the photo. This is its mask type.

which you can recognize it otherwise if it sits between yellow flowers or leaves you cannot understand that there is any bird on it or not only this mask reveals its identity so this is what the poet has written that bearing its identity showing her bare face identity mask so identity mask is that black strip on her face then with the eerie delicate whistle chirrup whisperings then eerie means something like this ED means something unfamiliar like a little scary. Then she whistles, chirps, whispers, she does different types of chichi, not the previous type. She launches away towards the infinite sky and the laburnum top subsidized to empty.

and again the labornium top becomes empty and still as it was before. So, with this, this poem completes. English poem The Voice of the Rain written by Wolf Whitman. There are many poems by Wolf Whitman and he gives a good message through his poem. Now what he is going to do in this, his poem is a little different.

So what he has done in this different poem, he will talk to the rain, that is, it is raining and he is going to talk a lot with the rain. So the conversation will be made between him and the rain and what is the conversation, we will read in his poem. So let's start with the first line.

and you will see the word meaning here there are many difficult word meaning in this poem so they say who are thou said I to the soft falling shard thou means you so they ask who are you from rain said I to the soft falling shards soft falling shard is rain so you write like this in your NCERT who are you who are you what is the meaning of the word thou and who are you many pooch a guest a rain se pooch a many with strange tell gave me an answer as he had translated for what I think a movie body of Laga with strange strange what love achieve Ota hey with strange to tell him a home about a TV a GV like a given go to a woman a pooch a Tom gone or to rain you know need Javad de dea take a to end who are you said I to the soft falling showers with strange to tell give me an answer as here translated So, with strange to tell, he is also feeling different while telling, he is saying that yes, he answered me, Rain answered me and I have translated here. So, these two lines were said by the poet, now this line is saying Rain, so this will say Rain. What does Rain say? I am the poem of earth.

That I am the poem of the earth. Okay, said the voice of the Rain. Eternal I rise, eternal means never ending I will always go I rise impalable impalable means something that you can't describe rain rises out of the land and the bottomless sea out of the land, land means bottomless sea it means that the process of evaporation is being told here that how I originate like we have studied that from land and the sea river has been formed from all these places water evaporates and then it becomes clouds and then it rains again.

So, in the form of a poem, Rain herself says that I am the poem of the earth. Eternal Arise, Rain is eternal. It will never stop raining. If we don't overuse water, then water is so essential for our life. And God has given us as a resource that it will be recharged.

If we don't overuse water, then water will never end if we don't overuse it. Because it is rechargeable. From bottomless sea, from everywhere, from land, water evaporates and goes up, then it becomes cloud, then it rains.

So this cycle will continue. It is our fault that we are overusing. So, she says eternal I rise.

I am eternal. I am never ending. Out of the land and the bottomless sea. Imparable means which cannot be, you need not describe that how it is happening, why it is happening, why it is going up like this, we know that it is going for evaporation, but still, you can't even see it, you know that it is going for evaporation, you understand that, will you be able to see it going like this, no, it is not visible, but this is happening all over us, everywhere, somewhere, the process of evaporation is going on, we won't be able to see it, but nature, its process is ongoing, everything happens in nature. So this is our first tense.

Let's move on. Upward to heaven, whence vaguely formed. So now Rain tells us. where do I go from bottomless sea?

upward to heaven heaven means I go up whence vaguely form whence means where so what do I become after going up in heaven? I become something vaguely you know vague means something that is not clearly made and in which clouds are not clearly made like we see clouds and say that this is a mouse see here we see some cartoons sometimes we say that this is a bird sometimes we say that this is a human being and we see different things according to our perception. So, the same thing that rain is telling us that I go to heaven and there I make a structure from the wave which we can call cloud. All together changed and yet the same. And when I become a cloud, I completely change.

Earlier I was in the form of water droplets, now I have come in the form of a cloud, I have changed but I am the same. I am still the same. So, you are seeing the nature of rain, how the nature of rain changes.

Earlier it became evaporated water, then it became cloud, then it became water. drop ledge one kya aata hai toh uska nature change hota rehta hai state change hoti rehti hai but wo hai hamari rain hi I descend to leave the draughts atomi's dust layers of the globe ki ab yaha She told her formation that I have become a cloud. After becoming a cloud, she tells that I descend to live.

Descend means to come down, and live means to wash. See, she told herself that when I become a cloud, then I come down again to wash the droughts. Drought means to remove the dry part.

to wash the dust layer of the globe. Have you ever seen after the rain, how the weather and environment is like, it seems like everything is washed. The leaves also look like this, they are completely clean in light green color. If you see the atmosphere around, it looks clear because the dust layer has been removed. So this is what Rain is saying, that when I become a cloud, after that I descend to wash the draughts, atomies, dust layers of the globe.

and all that in them without me was seeds only lichen unborn and now in the end, the rain tells us that if it does not come down means if it does not come on earth if it does not rain then what can happen? and why does it rain? so that the seeds that have been formed the latent ones, the unborn ones that is, those that are not yet in place latent means hidden, buried they are unborn so they will not be born until the rain comes from here, that field The crops that wait for the rain, the seeds that are hidden in the soil, they wait for the rain to come and they will change into a tree, they will change into a crop.

So she says, for whom do I come, for which rain do I come? I come for the earth, I come to remove the drought, I come to remove the dust, I come to wash the earth completely. Along with that, I come for those seeds.

which is latent means it is hidden under the soil and it is unborn, it is not born yet if water comes then it will be born in sunlight so this thing tells us in the second stanza that who it is and forever by day and night I give back life to my own origin and make pure and beautify it Now she finally says forever, this is my job, night and day, I gave back life to my own origin, I give my own origin to life again. Now the origin of our rain is earth, from where the rain is not clear, where the water droplets evaporated, it has to go from earth only. And she comes back and rejuvenates the earth, you have seen how happy the earth is when it rains, everywhere. trees and plants are washed, how beautiful the weather is and how important is rain and water for us, we all know our life can't exist without water, so she is saying that I give back life to my own origin, originate also rain has come from the earth and come and give back life, if it is not rain, we cannot survive.

So, rain makes us survive our own origin. So, she tells us this and also makes us pure and beautify. We don't drink water just like that.

No, it makes everything pure. It makes everything beautiful. Okay. For song issuing from its up. Now, these lines which are written in the bracket.

Now, this is written by our poet. Okay. Till here, rain has told that I am this. Now, we will read the line which poet has written. Poet says for song.

issuing from its birth place after fulfillment and wandering wrecked on gray on red duly with love returns so yeah I'm a couple thought you know what you're gonna do for him up here up a complete hey you do bracket my line sub you have a poet here cut their ring a comparison it's songs here I poem security I do poem book would be like a radio songs so they music Joe time was a compare cut it up you He also called the rain as the poem of the earth. He compared it and said that the poem of the earth is the rain. Why do they say that? They say that when an artist writes a song, when a song is made, when a song is made, like if someone has written a poem, then they also do the same thing as the rain. For song issuing from its birthplace.

Who writes the song? A writer will write, music composer will make music for it, the writer will write the poem. Okay?

After After Fulfillment, Wandering, Wrecked or Unwrecked When someone is writing a poem or has written a song, it will also be all over the world. If a song is launched in today's world, then the whole world knows that some people will listen to it, some people will not listen to it. Some people will like that song, some will not like it. Wrecked or Unwrecked Wrecked means to care, Unwrecked means Do not care.

Let me explain to you what is duly with love returns. So the poet has made a comparison of rain with his poem or songs. He says that rain is very important for nature and human existence.

Same is music. Music also works for us humans. And as rain comes back to the origin, same way music and poems work. When a writer writes, he is with the whole world to listen to him.

or they don't listen to it, it's their choice and then they come back to the writer and feel at peace because whenever a writer or music composer or songwriter writes a song then obviously they also feel at peace peace of mind. Whether people like it or not, there is a sense of accomplishment, there is happiness in that person. Okay, and those who will listen will feel very good, those who will read this poem and feel good, they will feel beautiful.

Similarly, when the rain comes, the whole earth becomes beautiful. Similarly, it makes our soul beautiful, enriches our soul. Music.

So, this is what he is saying that just like there is rain for the earth, music also works for a human, for a human, for mankind. Just like when the rain comes, earth will be refreshed and rejuvenated. With the same music, song, poems, our mind and our body, our soul can be relaxed and rejuvenated. So here it is saying, for song issuing from its birth place, after fulfillment wandering ragged or unragged you will withdraw of returns so the way a poem is written, the same way a song is written so here I have written ragged or unragged means cared for or not cared for it doesn't affect the rain nor the poet if someone listened to the rain or not so now that poet last means this rain is coming someone is listening to the rain or not or someone is reading the poem of our poet they don't care about that they wrote a poem they like that thing very much If someone praises you and says that your poem is very good, they don't need this.

If they like it, it's okay. If they haven't heard it, haven't read it, haven't read it, it's okay. They have written it, it is a sense of accomplishment for them. Same as rain, rain will come and do its work. Some people will not like rain, but rain does not matter to them.

So with this, this poem is completely completed. Class 11 English Poem Childhood and if you want to read other chapters class 11 English reading section then check the description box full syllabus is given on my channel I have created all the videos you can complete the syllabus and if you want to check notes of every chapter or poem summary, question and answer then you can see Instagram ID link on the screen so you can go from Instagram ID not only English but also History, Political, Geography, Economics and physical education, you will get notes of many subjects on Instagram and if you want to see videos of all these subjects then you can go and watch from the channel so now we start our poem whose name is Childhood and its writer is Marcus Natan Basically, we will ask this question again and again that where is my childhood? Sometimes we also think that how soon we have grown up.

We have a lot of changes in us. We are very carefree in childhood. We don't have much tension. Childhood is one of the best time of our life.

Now our poets want to see when did this happen when I stopped being a child. When did I feel that where did my childhood go? They didn't understand. So they want to know when they grew up. So the first stanza is when did my childhood go?

here he wants to ask the time sometimes he will put where and something else so he starts with when he is asking the time when did my childhood go? was it the day I ceased to be 11? cease means to stop so he is asking what happened that day when I was not 11 years old that is he is thinking when I became 12 or 13 when I became a teenager did my childhood go away then? Was it the time I realized that hell and heaven could not be in geography? So, they ask, was it that day when I realized that hell and heaven are not in geography book?

And therefore, could not be, was that the day? Means, was it that day? Now, here hell and heaven are not in geography book. It means that when I started getting education, when I started studying, when I went to school, when I got educated, I came to know the right and wrong, I got knowledge of many things. Did my childhood go away then?

Did I mature a little bit thinking wise? Was it the time when my childhood went away? So, he wants to say this. Now, let's see the word meaning. Go and cease to be stopped and realize means understood.

So, with this, let's come to the next stanza. Next stanza is, they ask again, where did my childhood go? was it the time I realized that adults were not all they seem to be?

they say, was it the time when I understood that adults are not as they seem to be like we are told in our childhood that you should live with love, you should not fight, you should not lie and sometimes we are told that we should not be like that They say that they are not adults and they hurt their elders. They lie in front of their children. They tell their children not to lie. Parents lie in front of their children. Or if it is an adult.

So, this thing is saying that I felt that my childhood is gone when I came to know that what adults show and pretend is not the same. They talked of love and preached of love but did not act so lovingly. Was that the day? They say love, teach good things, but they don't react like that. They don't stay lovingly, they don't love themselves, nor do they work in the way they teach us.

When did my childhood go? Was it when I find my mind was really mine to use whichever way I choose? So now he is saying that my childhood went away the day I found out that my mind is mine and I can choose whatever way I want. I got a sense of individuality I felt that I have my life, I can make my own decisions I can work individually Like we come to our life and say that now we are individual We will ask so much from parents but still our decision will matter somewhere What way should we choose, what is right for us and what is wrong for us Was it the day when I started listening to my mind Or I became responsible for myself I became independent Was it the day when My childhood is gone So, you can read it completely and understand When did my childhood go?

Was it when I found my mind was really mine To use whichever way I choose Producing thoughts that were not those of other people But my own and my alone So, look again at this thing Because in childhood we listen to the words of the elders We have to do what they say So, he is saying that my childhood is gone When my mind started producing thoughts That were not those of other people. I stopped talking about others. I started listening to my mind.

Was that my childhood? Was that the day? so they don't know anything in the first stanza they said that when he was 11 years old when he started getting knowledge from school books when he came to know that adults are not like that or when I got my individuality when I started to use my brain when did my childhood go?

they didn't get the answer they were questioning and still didn't get the answer they are thinking when did their childhood go and where did it go they didn't understand so seemed means appear preached means taught act means behave lovingly with compassion and love for others so these were the word meanings of this Now, in the last, he says, where did my childhood go? First, he was saying when, when, when, that is, at what time did his childhood go? Now, he is asking, where did his childhood go?

There must be some place where his childhood has gone. So, he says, where did my childhood go? It went to some forgotten place.

He has gone to some forgotten, that is, unknown place, which he is not getting. And where is that place? He gives us a little hint. That is hidden in an infant's face.

That's all I know. So, he says that if I want to see my childhood in today's time, then I can only see an infant, that is, a baby. That's all in the face of that baby.

Infant is written as baby because babies are so innocent nowadays. In that stage, you have the infant stage, you know, the toddler stage. He says that at that stage, I feel a childhood by looking at them.

I feel that yes, they have childhood. So, where did my childhood go? It went to some forgotten place. That is hidden.

According to them, it is a forgotten place. They are not able to find it. But yes, they can see hidden in an infant's face. That's all I know. Hidden means hidden, infant means small child, unremembered.

So, they see it in a baby's face. Or you can assume that between 5 to 6 years old children, that childhood happens, then slowly, we also grow up to be 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, children also grow up. So, they say that where is my childhood?

Now if I want to see, I want to see it in the face of the children. So with this, this poem is also complete. I have also covered the word meanings. This is the stanza-wise explanation of this poem. If you want to check this, you need its notes.
