[Music] the next test we'll look at is called the Faber test fa beer reason it's called favor test is because of the hip position when you start the test it's the hip is in flexion abduction and exteral rotation thus favor it's also called Patrick's test and figure four test with this test I'd be on the other side but just for Vis visualization I'll be standing here you have the patient go in a figure four position it's a passive test have the patients with their uh lateral lless just Superior to their patella and to stabilize here and if the patient has a positive test they're going to have more flexion with this occasionally I'm going to apply just slight stretch on it like that positive test could be indicative of tightness of the ilos so as of one joint hip flexors depending on especially if I give some over pressure If patient has discomfort you ask them where they have discomfort it could be hip flexor pathology it could be SI pathology so again if I push back and she's complaining of some discomfort in the middle butic region or the SI region uh typically unilateral positive test for that and it can also be some hip pathology with this too so again depending on the um sensation she has with that so if I give over pressure push down and she complains of deep hip discomfort it could be some hip pathology we're dealing with that whether it's a laum or arthritis typically the favor test does look for the SI pathology with that so again positive test it'll be up higher a negative test it comes pretty much parallel to the table she's almost there i' say she a slight tightness with that uh but I would lean towards this being a negative test with that so that's a favor test the Patrick's test figure four test
