in this video i will be going over some basic vocabulary of the game water program first counter if you're on defense and steal the ball your team counters meaning they go the other way as fast as they can to set up offense and try to get an advantage on the other team if you're on offense and the ball gets stolen you must counter slash get back quickly to defend your goal crash this is a defensive move this is when you make a sudden movement to the hole to help defend or steal the ball the whole being the middle player on the field and the biggest threat to your team drop this is another defensive move this is when you move away from the person you foul to help guard the whole set drive this is an offensive move this is when an offensive player swims through the umbrella toward the goal to get open for a shot or make something happen like a pass post up this is another offensive move it's similar to the drive however you stop and set up at the post becoming a second hosta press this is a defensive move this is when you guard your opponent so hard that they can't pass the ball drive or shoot six on five this is a term for when the offensive team has an advantage because a defensive player has been excluded from play this is also known as a man down for defensive players and men up for offensive players if you're on the offensive team the players usually yeah we're up we're up and if you're on the defensive team players usually yeah we're down we're down letting everyone know what's going on on the field the last term set it this is when the whole set is ready to receive the ball so make sure to get it to them with a wet pass meaning a pass on the water
