[Music] it's long slow sign christ bless you all hey let me know if you can see and hear me let me know if you can see and hear me clearly get started happy feast of tabernacles happy feast of tabernacles oh y'all this tabernacle we'll be keeping the rest of it here at home we were out in the wilderness until the lord opened the windows of heaven and poured much rain on us oh man we was uh we um i know my ted we had a lake outside of my tent for uh for much of the night so um but none of the most high we got to um we got to assemble uh keep the feast you know in the wilderness at least for three nights and it was it was good it was good so are you on the spirit of the feast of tabernacles and uh dwelling in booths so we gonna do the uh the four chapters today reading i'm officer kimmy well orlando camp um we are in the book of first samuel we're gonna read chapters 24 through 27 all right 24-27 and um as always if you have questions uh pertaining to the reading at the end of the reading uh you can submit them to the captains on the same uh iuic four chapters a day platform all right so with that uh we're gonna go ahead and get started um the book of first samuel chapter 24 and verse one and it came to pass when saul was returned from following the philistines that it was told him saying behold david is in the wilderness of engetti then saul took three thousand chosen men out of all israel and went to seek david and his men upon the rocks of wild goats and he came to the ship sheep coats by the way where was a cave and saul went in to cover his feet and david and his men remained in the sides of the cave and the men of david said unto him behold the day was the lord said unto thee behold i will deliver thy enemy into thine hand that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee then david arose and cut off the skirt of saul's robe privily and it came to pass afterward that david's heart smote him because he had cut off saul's skirt and he said unto his men the lord forbid that i should do this thing unto my master the lord's anointed to stretch forth my hand against him seeing he is the anointed of the lord so they restate his servants with these words and suffered them not to rise up against saul but saul rose up out of the cave and went on his way david also rose afterward and went out of the cave and cried after saul saying my lord the king and when saul looked behind him david stooped with his face to the earth and bowed himself and david said to saul wherefore hearest thou the men's words saying behold david seeketh i heard behold this day thine eyes have seen how the lord hath delivered thee today into my hand in the cave and some bad me to kill thee but mine eyes spared me and i said i will not put forth my hand against my lord for he is the lord's anointed moreover my father see yea the skirt of thy robe in my hand for in that i cut off the skirt of thy robe and killed thee not know thou and see there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand and i have not sinned against thee yet thou huntest my soul to take it the lord judged between me and thee and the lord avenge me of thee but my hand shall not be upon thee so hey thank you uh brother benjamin thank you brother benjamin for getting on the uh scribing so what we see here is when we read in the prior chapters we know that saul was chasing after david hunting after david to kill david david had an opportunity to kill saul and he didn't i'm gonna go back and read verse three again where it says and he came to the sheepcoats by the way and there was a cave and saul went in to cover his feet and david his and davis and his men remained in the sides of the cave now when it says he went to cover his feet let me give you a precept so that you understand what that means we're going to go to judges chapter 3 verse 24 and 25 all right judges chapter 3. verse 24 and 25 let's see the vulnerable position that saul was in and yet david spared his life that that way you'll understand that um when david said you you were delivered into my hand but i didn't i didn't take your life all right judges chapter 3 verse 24 it says when he was gone out his servants came and when they saw that behold the doors of the parlor were locked they said surely he covereth his feet in the summer chamber and they tarried till they were ashamed why were they ashamed because he was in there doing a number two all right he was he was in there taking the number two all right so when it says he covered his feet it means he was in there taking a dump all right so let's go back to first samuel chapter 3 of chapter 24 verse 3. and he came to the sheep coats by the way where was a cave and saul went in to cover his feet and david and his men remained in the sides of the cave verse 4 and the men of david said unto him behold the day of the day of which the lord said unto me behold i will deliver thine enemy into thy hand that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee then david arose and cut off the skirt of saul's robe privily now we've gone over this before but i'm gonna bring it out again about the skirt all right so mr zombies all right if the zombies compact by the dictionary we're gonna go to page 136 all right let's see if y'all can see it all right so we're gonna read about the skirt okay the skirt um the basic garments in general use among the men of biblical time seem to have consisted of the inner tunic the tunic coat the girdle and the cloak added to this was the head dress and the shoes are sandals the word skirt found a number of times in the bible kjv usually refers to an article of male and not female clothing um digging a thon did a class on this not too long ago all right so an article of male and not female clothing and has a number of meanings extremity root three and nine corner okay first samuel 24 and 4 him exodus 28 33 all right so for samuel 24 4 and the men of david said unto him behold the day which the lord said unto thee behold i will deliver thine enemy into thine hand now who is being referred to as the enemy his own people okay saul remember he was of uh the tribe of benjamin right david being of this of the tribe of judah all right it says behold i will deliver thine enemy into thine hand that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee then david arose and cut off the skirt of saul's row privily all right so where we have our fringes and the borders of our garments okay and as you see us when we out on the streets with our robes he cut off that bottom part where that the fringes are attached all right so now um i read verse 5 again and it came to pass afterward that david's heart smote him because he had cut off saul's skirt and he said unto his men the lord forbid that i should do this thing unto my master the lord's anointed to stretch forth my hand against him seeing he is the anointed of the lord so david stayed his servants with these words and suffered them not to rise against saul but when saul rose up out of the cave and went on his way david also arose afterwards and went out of the cave and cried after saul saying my lord the king and when saul looked behind him david stooped with his face to the to the earth and bowed himself so he he um reverence saw even though saul was trying to kill him you know that's why the lord said david is is a man after my own heart david maintain his integrity okay um verse 9 and david said to saul wherefore hearst thou the men's words saying behold david seeker thy hurt behold this day thine eyes have seen how the lord hath delivered the incidents into my hand in the cave and some babe me kill thee but mine spared thee and i said i will not put forth mine hand against the lord for he is the lord's anointed moreover my father she yay see the skirt of thy robe in my hand for in for in that i cut off thy skirt of thy robe and i and i killed thee not know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand and i am not sinned against thee yet thou hanus my soul to take it the lord judged between me and thee and the lord revenge of me but my hand shall not be upon thee as the as saith the proverb of the ancients wickedness proceedeth from the wicked but mine hands shall not be upon thee after whom it is up after whom is the king of israel come out after whom thus thou pursued after a dead dog after a fleet the lord therefore be judged between the lord therefore be judged and judged between me and thee and see and plead my cause and deliver me out of thine hand and it came to pass when david had made an end of speaking these words unto saul that saul said is this thy voice my son david and saul lifted up his voice and wept and he said to david thou art more righteous than i for thou has rewarded me good whereas i have rewarded thee evil and thou has shown this day how that thou has dealt well with me for as much as when the lord hath delivered me into thine hand thou killeth me not for if a man find his enemy will he let him go well well away wherefore the lord reward thee good for thou has done unto me this day and now behold i know well that thou shalt surely be king and that the kingdom of israel shall be established in thine hand so saul was making an acknowledgement there because he saw the righteousness of david he said and now behold i know well that thou shalt surely be king and that the kingdom of israel shall be established in thine hand let's get um let's get isaiah 32 and 1. let me get the book of isaiah 32 and 1 okay and it says behold a king shall reign in righteousness and princes shall rule in judgment okay a king shall reign in righteousness and that's what we were seeing here that saul was making the acknowledgment that david that david was operating in righteousness all right um let's go back first samuel chapter 24 verse 21 it says swear now therefore unto me by the lord that thou will not cut off my seed after me and that thou will not destroy my name out of my father's house and david swear unto saul and saul went home but david and his men got them up unto the whole okay so david showed um david so much uh restraint um respect unto his elder you know um that's something that uh that some of us struggle with today we need to use this as an example um because the lord was dealing with david okay even if you even though he saw that this saul was was acting wickedly and strange with him when he had the opportunity to kill saul he wouldn't do it all right uh let's go to first samuel chapter 25 25 and verse 1. and samuel died and all the israelites were gathered together and lamented him and buried him in the house of vermont and david arose and went down to the wilderness of perron and there was a man in mayon whose possessions were in karma and the man was very great and he had three thousand sheep and a thousand goats and he was shearing his sheep in carmel now the name of the man was nabal in the name of his wife abigail and she was a good she was a woman of good understanding and of a beautiful countenance but the man was churlish and evil and his doings and he was in his doings i'm sorry and he was of the house of caleb and david heard in the wilderness that nabal did shear his sheep and david sent out ten young men and david said unto the young men get you up to carmel and go to nevada and greet him in my name and thus shall you say to him that liveth in prosperity peace be both to thee and peace be to thine house and peace be unto all that thou hast and now i have heard that thou s has shared and i have heard that thou has shearers now thy shepherds which were with us we heard them not neither was there are missing unto them all the while they were in carmel asked thy men and they will show thee wherefore let the young men find favor in thine eyes for we come in a good day give i pray thee whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants and to thy son david and when david's young men came they spake to the ball according to all the words in the name of david and ceased and the ball answered david's servants and said who is david and who is the son of jesse there be many servants nowadays that break away every man from his master shall i then take my bread and my water in my flesh that i have killed from my shares and given unto men whom i know not whence they be so nabal was talking he was talking much smack like i don't even know who david is okay verse 12 so david's young men turned their way and went again and came and told him all those sayings and david said unto his men gergie everyone gertie i'm sorry gurgeon every man his sword and they girded on every man his sword and david also girded on his sword and they went there up after david about 400 men and 200 above by the stuff but one of the young men told abigail and the ball's wife saying behold david sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master and he railed on them okay that's what we just read in in through eleven he was talking he was talking one smack to him but the men were very good unto us and they were not hurt and we were not hurt neither missed we anything as long as we were uh conversant with them when we were in the fields and they were a wall unto us both by night and day all the while we were with them keeping keeping the sheep so i mean they were protection davis men were giving them protection all right from from their enemies okay uh verse 17 now therefore know and consider what thou will do for evil is determined against our master and against all his household for he is such a son of belial that a man cannot speak to him and some of us know uh people like that uh you can't you can't talk to them they won't reason with you you got to consider the bob was rich um you know he was a very wealthy man and a lot of times what comes with that is an arrogant spirit okay verse 18 then abigail made haste and took 200 loaves and two bottles of wine and five sheep ready dressed and five measures of parched corn and a hundred clusters of raisins and 200 cakes of figs and laid them on asses and she said unto her servants go on before me behold i come after you but she told not her husband the ball and it was so as she rolled on the ass that she came down by the covert of the hill and behold david and his men came down against her and she met them now davis has said surely in vain have i kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness so that nothing was missed of all that pertaineth unto him and he hath required he has requitted me evil for good so and more also do god unto the enemies of david if i leave off if i leave of all that pertain to him by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall meaning the man he came david came with um with malice intent he's like i'm coming to destroy destroy the men out of this house and when abigail saw david she hastened and lighted off the ass and fell before david on her on her face and vowed herself to the ground and fell at his feet and said upon me my lord upon me let this iniquity be and let not thine and let thine handmaid i pray thee speak in thine audience and hear the words of thine handmaid so she said now she's not the one who did anything wrong but she said upon me let this iniquity be she was being that that pillar of rest she was taking on that iniquity and and she was using that wisdom because remember the scriptures say that she was a woman of good understanding so she was using wisdom to protect her house all right she didn't she didn't say yeah go kill it because because he's a you know what i'm saying that's what um some of our uh that's what some of the women today would do you know they they'll be ready to turn uh to turn you over to uh to your enemy to get destroyed all right read that again verse 24 and he fell at us and fell at his feet and said upon me my lord upon me let this iniquity be and let thine handmaid i pray thee speak in thine audience and hear the words of thine hand me and let not my lord i pray thee regard this man of belial even the ball for as his name is so is he neval is his name and folly is with him but i think handmade saw not the young men of my lord whom thou did a sin so she's saying i didn't look i didn't see the man coming down um because she would have stepped in and and would have done something to protect their house she didn't know that the ball railed on them in all right oh before we go any further i want to get um i want to get first peter i want to show y'all something especially the sisters first peter chapter 3. uh let me see it won't want to start um actually i want to start at 2 i want to read 2 and 18 and then we're going to jump down to uh chapter 3 of 1. it says servants be subject to your masses without fear not only to the good and gentle but also to the fraud for this is think worthy if a god if a man for conscience toward god endured grief suffering wrongfully okay so servants be subject unto your masters with all fear not only to the good and the gentle but to the fro to those that are like the ball okay jump down to chapter three verse one likewise meaning the same as likewise ye wives be in subjection unto your own husbands that if any obey not the word they also may without the may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives while they behold your chaste conversation comfort cove look coupled with fear okay this is what um abigail was putting in the in the place okay her lord was it said he was evil he was churlish okay so not just to the good in the general but also to the fraud and you know what her actions her conversation is what she was displaying when she made uh when she made all the the cakes and and all the food when she made this feast for david when she heard that david was coming and she bought those things down to meet david this was uh her good conversation or her good behavior her good actions because what was she trying to do she was trying to spare her house all right so she took upon she said let me take upon this iniquity okay so that's just a um little lesson for some of our wives that got to understand that you know what if if you're if you feel like your lord is out of the spirit then instead of you uh going railing for railing with him what are you gonna do your behavior should be able to win him over your behavior should be able to have him be like you know what i'm i'm tripping i'm bugging you know what i'm saying i got a good wife i got a wife just keeping the commandments i got a wife this uh you you know she's still in that humble spirit showing me that i'm i'm out of the spirit okay instead of um provoking okay because a lot of a lot of women they can uh provoke with their mouths you know talk slick with their mouths to their lords and then what you got you got you got an unhappy household because you got people that basically hate each other living under the same roof okay and let's see what it got uh abigail let's see what the end was all right so let's go back first samuel chapter 25 and verse 20 26 now therefore my lord as the lord liveth and as thy soul live seeing the lord have withholded thee from coming to shed blood and from avenging thyself with thine own hand now let thine enemies and they that seek evil to my lord be as nabal now this and now this blessing which thine handmaid have bought unto my lord let it even be given unto the young men that follow my lord i pray thee forgive the trespass of thine handmaid you see what she's saying forgive the trespass of my handmaid that's the ball that was the one that was out of the spirit okay but again that chase conversation that she's stepping up for her household to protect her household so she says i pray that you forgive the trespass of thine handmaid and the lord will certainly make my lord a sore house because my lord fighted the battles of the lord and evil have not been found in thee all thy days yet a man has risen to pursue thee and to seek thy soul but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the lord with the lord thy god and the souls of thine enemies them shall he sling out as out of the middle of the sling and it shall come to pass when the lord shall have done to my lord according to all the good that he has spoken concerning thee and shall have appointed him i'm sorry so i've appointed thee ruler over israel that this shall be no brief unto thee nor offense of heart unto my lord either that thou has shed blood causeless or that my lord hath avenged himself but when the lord shall have dealt well with my lord then remember thine hand me and david said to abigail bless be the lord god of israel which sent me to sent me this day to meet me and bless be thy advice and bless me thou which has kept me this day from coming to shed blood and from avenging myself with mine own hand for in very deep as the lord god of israel living which hath kept me back from hurting thee except thou hast accept thou had us hasted to come to meet me surely there had not been uh left unto the ball by the morning light any that pisses against the wall so david received of her hand that was she upon him and said unto her go up in peace to thine house see i have reckoned i'm sorry see i have hearken to thy voice and have accepted thy person and abigail came to the ball and beheld and behold he held a feast in his house like a feast of a king and the ball's heart was married within him for he was very drunken wherefore she she told him nothing less or more until morning light but it came to pass in the morning when the wine was gone out of the ball and his wife told him these things that his heart died within him and he became as a stone because remember he railed on david's men talking about who was david who was the son of jesse i don't know who you talking about but then when uh when his wife told him in the morning when he sobbing up uh you you know that david you say you ain't know who he was the king coming down here he was gonna destroy us he was going to kill everybody it said that his heart died within him and became as a stone and it came to pass about 10 days after that the lord smoked the ball that he died and when david heard that the mau was dead he said blessed be the lord that hath pleaded my cause or pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of the ball and have kept his servant from evil for the lord hath returned the wickedness of naval upon his own head and david senton communed with abigail to take her to him to wife and when the servants of david would come to abigail to carmel they spake unto her saying david sent us to me to take me to him to wife and she arose and bowed her and bowed herself on her face to the earth and said behold let thine hand may be a servant to wash the feet of thy servants of the servants of my lord so she rose up and washed the servants that came and delivered the good tidings feet i don't know no sisters right now that is going to watch the feet of the servants all right that's uh that's a very um humble uh act right there all right and i know i know we may say i'll do it i'll do it but davis men came to to get her to bring her to him and she was probably very joyous and glad because you know a woman living with a man that's a nigg for a long time i see you sister you say i would no problem and and i don't know what that's like but a woman living um with a with a with a man that um is hard to deal with won't listen won't take um no advice just arrogant you know maybe verbally abusive you know she she was she was relieved of that thing when uh nabal died all right so anyway verse 42 and abigail haste and arose and rolled upon an ass with five damsels of hers that went after her and she went after the messengers of david and became his wife david also took a henolum of jezreel and they were also both of them his wives but saul had given mccall his daughter david's wife to faulty the son of laish which was of galim all right so chapter 26 um went into uh the ball and abigail and and basically the ball this and david david coming to uh events um himself against the ball but because of the uh the wisdom and the ball's wife abigail that stayed david from shedding blood david was thankful the ball died and david took devon's wife abigail to wife all right so let's go to verse or chapter 26 and verse one and the zephites came unto saul to gabaya saying does not david hide himself in the hill of hakai or hakula which is before jesus now right here we are going back so verse 26 is picking up on what we read in chapter 23 so just to refresh our memory i'm gonna go back to 23 and 19. all right first samuel chapter 23 and verse 19 when it says then came up the ziphites to saul to give saying does not david hide himself with us in the strongholds in the wood in the hill of hakula hikaila which is on the south of jesuman now therefore o king come down according to all that all the desire of thy soul to come down and our part shall be to deliver him into the king's hand okay so that's what we're picking back up now in uh chapter 26 all right so we're going to go back for 70 26 and verse 2. then saul arose and went down to the wilderness of zip having three thousand chosen men of israel with him to seek david in the wilderness of zip and saul pitched in the hill of cakala which is before jesus by the way but david eboled in the wilderness and he saw that saul came after him into the wilderness david therefore sent out spies and understood that saul was come in very deep and david arose and came to the place where saul had pitched and david beheld the place where saul laid and abner the son of nerd the captain of his host and saul lay in the trench and the people pitched round about round about him then answered david and said to him elect the hittite and to abishai the son of zero higher zeraia the brother of joab saying who will go down with me to saul to the camp and avasta said i will go down with thee so david and aberside came to the people by night and behold saul was solely sleeping within the within the trench and his spear stuck in the ground at his bolster but abner and the people lay round about him okay so he's in the trench and his people laying around about him uh as protection all right to the king then said have a shot to david god hath delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day now therefore let me smite him i pray thee with the spear even to the earth at once and i will not smite him the second time and david said to have a side destroy him not for who could stretch forth his hand against the lord's anointed and be guiltless david said furthermore as the lord living the lord shall smite him or his day shall come to die or he shall descend into battle in paris for the lord forbid that i should stretch forth my hand against the lord's anointing but i pray thee take down now the spear that is at his bolster and the crews of water and let us go so david took this beer and the crews of water from saul's bolster and they got them away and no man saw it nor knew it neither awake for they were all asleep because a deep sleep from the lord was fallen upon them then david went over to the other side and stood on the top of the hill top oven hill afar off a great space being between them and david cried to the people and to abner the son of nerd saying answereth thou not abner then and then abner answered and said who art thou that cries to the king and david said to abner art now thou are a valiant man and who is like thee and who is like to be in israel wherefore then hast thou not kept the thy lord the king for there came one of the people and to destroy the the king thy lord this thing is not good that thou has done as the lord liveth ye are worthy to die because ye have not kept your master the lord's anointing and now see where the king's spirit is and the crews of water that was at his bolster and saul knew david's voice and said is this thy voice my son david and david said it is my voice my lord o king and he said wherefore doth my lord thus pursue after his servant for what have i done or what evil is in my hand now therefore i pray i pray thee let my lord the king hear the words of his servant if the lord has stirred me up against thee i'm sorry if the lord has stirred me up against me let him accept an offering but if they have but if they be the children of which be they before the lord for they have driven me out this day for fighting in the inheritance of the lord saying go serve other gods now therefore let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the lord for the king of israel is come out to seek a flee as when one doth hunt a partridge in the mountains then said saul i have sinned return my son david for i will no more do the harm because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day behold i have played the fool and have earned exceedingly so saul was acknowledging once once more david's righteousness because again david had an opportunity to kill some but he didn't put us all to death all right verse 22 and david answered and said behold the king's fear and let one of the young men come over and fetch it the lord rendered to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness for the lord delivered thee into my hand today but i would not stretch forth my hand against the lord's anointing and behold as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes so let my life be such be much set be be much set by in thine in the eyes of the lord and let him deliver me out of all tribulation then saul said to david bless be thou my son david thou shalt both do great things and also shall still prevail so david went on his way and saul returned to his place okay so that was chapter 26 we saw that david again had an opportunity to uh kill saul but he showed again compassion and restraint and fear of the lord he said i'm not going to kill the lord's anointed uh that's what we got to get to as far as brotherly love when we um see each other we see christ in each other that's what our nation is lacking that's why we got to be that example all right brother so um again david being that example he spared saul's life all right so this is first samuel chapter 27 and verse one and david said in his heart i so now perish one day by the hand of saul there is nothing better for me than that i shall speedily escape into the land of the philistines and saul shall despair of me to seek me any more in any coast of israel so shall i escape out of his hand and david arose and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto a kiss the son of mayot king of gab and david dwelt with a kiss at gap he and his men every man with his household even david with his two wives and henon the jezreelitis and abigail the carmelites nabal's wife and it was told saul that david was fled to gab and he saw him no more again for him okay verse 5 verse 5 and david said unto a kiss if i have found grace in thine eyes let me let them give me a place in some town in the country that i may dwell there for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee then a kiss gave him ziklag that day wherefore ziklath pertained unto the kings of judah unto this day and the time that david dwelt in the country of the philistines was a full year and four months and david and his men went up and invaded the gersorites and the gezrites and the amalekites for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land as thou goes to shore even unto the land of egypt and david smote the land and left neither man nor woman alive and took away the sheep and the oxen and the asses and the camels and the apparel and returned and came to a kiss and the kiss said whither have you made a road today and david said against the south of jordan and against the south of the jerome jeromiah lights and against the south of the canaanites and david saved neither man nor woman alive to bring tithings to tidings together saying les they should tell on us saying so did david and so will he be and so will be his matter all the while he dwelleth in the country of the philistines and a kiss believed david saying he hath made his people israel utterly to abort him therefore he shall be my servant forever all right so that will conclude first samuel chapter 24 through 27 all right in verse 27 um david departed out of uh the presence of saul and dwelt with a kiss in the land of phyllis in the land of the philistines and gab okay all right so with that family i'ma say shalom remember um that we have classes three times a day uh seven days a week uh i pray that you all uh are still um out there uh keeping the feast of tabernacles uh enjoying yourselves enjoying um brotherly love with your people all right keeping the commandments of the lord all right if you have any questions remember um just just come on to the uh four chapters a day and submit your questions to the captains and they will answer them all right so with that i'm gonna say shalom again um officer kimberly well the orlando camp messiah christ bless you all
