Signs Before the Day of Judgement

Major Signs

• Ten Major Signs: The emergence of these signs is interconnected, like beads on a string:

  • The Dajjal (Antichrist)
  • The return of Isa (Jesus, son of Mary)
  • Yajuj and Majuj (Gog and Magog)
  • The smoke
  • The Beast
  • The sun rising from the west
  • Three landslides: one in the east, one in the west, one in the Arabian Peninsula
  • A fire in Yemen leading people to the place of assembly before resurrection

• Sequence: Unknown, apart from the first three (Dajjal, Isa's return, and Yajuj & Majuj)

• No Repentance: Once these signs appear, repentance is no longer accepted.

The Dajjal (Antichrist)

• Description:
  • One eye obliterated, the other shrunk
  • Curly hair, stubby legs
  • Will claim to be God and perform miracles to deceive
  • Will travel the world, unable to enter Makkah and Madinah
• Defeat: Will be killed by Isa at the gate of Lod, Palestine

Isa (Jesus)

• Role:
  • Returns to defeat the Dajjal
  • Will rule according to Islam
  • His era will bring blessings and abundance

Yajuj and Majuj (Gog & Magog)

• Origin: Descendants of Adam
• Characteristics: Numerous and destructive
• Outcome: Destroyed by Allah’s command using a minor creation (worms)

Other Signs

• Smoke: Will fill the skies, causing torment
• Sun Rising from the West: A day when repentance will not be accepted
• The Beast: Emerges to speak to humans about their disobedience
• Earth Swallowings: Major landslides occurring in the east, west, and Arabian Peninsula

The Mahdi

• Identity: Rightly guided leader from the progeny of the Prophet Muhammad (saw), named Muhammad ibn Abdullah
• Era: Will bring justice and peace after chaos
• Role: Will unite Muslims, perform Umrah, and lead against the Dajjal

Lessons

• Preparation: Believers should strengthen their faith in anticipation, as repentance will not be possible once signs appear.
• Balance: Live life as though it is eternal while preparing for the hereafter as if it’s imminent.
• Hope: Despite challenges, better days are promised, and believers should not despair or become despondent.
