did you get into bodybuilding in the first place to be healthier perhaps improve your Aesthetics and so why is it that you've now decided to increase your body fat so much that you no longer like your own reflection in the mirror is it really worth [Music] it coach Greg and in today's video I'm going to let you know how you know you've taken bulking too far or more importantly when you should stop many of you know that I'm a proponent of main gaining being at a healthy body fat percentage and putting on muscle from there but many of you well you don't want to listen and you don't have to of course you can bulk and cut but for the most part it's not beneficial but in today's video I'm going to go into detail explaining exactly when you should stop your bulk first things first most people who are about to go on a bulk well they've already bulked you are already bulking you're thinking I need to bulk up to put on muscle but yet you've already been doing it you've been bulking all along and so step number one of the 10 steps is you're already at 25% body fat or more for males or 33% or more for females because at that point you're already labeled as being obese obese people well they shouldn't be bulking you're already fat and so here lies the problem most people are fatter than they think they look at their bodies in the mirror and say oh I'm probably 17% I'm going to go on a bulk cuz that's how I'm going to put on muscle problem is you're actually 27% you're already obese and putting on more body fat it's just going to make you less healthy not help you to put on muscle and the reason I know this is cuz I've coached thousands of individuals I ask everyone self assess your body fat what percent body fat do you think you are and for the most part people on average are 5% body fat or more higher than they think and so when deciding to end your bulk please be reasonable don't underestimate how much fat you actually have and remember the majority of people at least in North America are already overweight if you're already overweight adding in additional Surplus calories it's only going to make you fatter it's not going to help you put on muscle number two you actually feel better when you happen to skip a meal perhaps you were busy that day and you couldn't get in that meal that was planned but yet you feel better you have more energy you feel better you get in a better workout and if that's the case you're eating too much and you should most certainly stop your bulk and go on a cut and step three you've lost 10% or more of your reps on body weight exercises for example you used to do 40 push-ups now you can only get 36 or less perhaps you did 20 dips and now you're getting 18 or less you were doing 10 chinups now you can't even get nine if this is the case you've bulked too far what's happening is you're gaining too much body fat without adding in more muscle and so you're not getting strong enough to keep up with your weight gain if that's the case you bulked up too fast too long putting on too much body fat stop the bulk go on a cut number four you're injured overtraining or you're on vacation there's absolutely no point no benefit of going on a bulk if you're not able to train harder than last time in the gym if you're actually on a bulk you need to use those Surplus calories and put them to good use and if you're on vacationing you can't train you're not motivated you're overtrained you need a de lo that is not the time to go on a bulk and so please stop bulking immediately tip number five you're never hungry if you're never hungry you are eating way too many calories your body is in such a surplus not enough Gins released you have too much leptin and so you're never going to want to eat this is an indication that you're above your genetic set point for body fat and it's simply not conducive to building muscle tip number six you no longer like anything healthy you perhaps used to eat fruits and vegetables maybe even a salad but you no longer can stomach them you have absolutely zero appetite for anything healthy you should be eating a variety of nutrients from all four food groups not missing out on fruits and vegetables number seven your cardio is beginning to suffer you're sluggish lazy feeling bloated you don't have the energy you can't train as hard as the gym you're going slower on cardio this can often lead to people skipping out on their cardio getting lazy and slowing their metabolism and so one thing I would strongly recommend aside from ending the bulk is to get go2 Max the main ingredient scale All For What thinking you're putting on a bunch of muscle oh you're gotten bigger well guess what you're big and fat how is that benefiting you the goal is to add on muscle not to add on a bunch of fat and I know you've been told over and over again you need to bulk and cut to put on muscle but it's not true you can actually put on muscle while main gaining while maintaining your body fat being the same body fat percentage and slowly over time building muscle you don't need to put on fat in order to put on muscle did you get into bodybuilding in the first place to be healthier perhaps improve your Aesthetics and so why is it that you've now decided to increase your body fat so much that you no longer like your own reflection in the mirror is it really worth it no especially when the alternative is main gting you keep a healthy body fat percentage one of which you're proud of and you just slowly put muscle from there number nine and I think it goes without saying you're you're not getting any stronger if you're increasing calories increasing body weight and it's not leading to any strength gains then what do you think that weight is and so bulking at this point it's completely pointless and last but not least is if you're Force feeding and or throwing up and trust me this happens to the best of us and for example Anthony Mella was eating so much food he was literally throwing up and me myself I was bulking up to try and break the world record in the bench press got to 232 pounds couldn't get food down getting up in the middle of the night throwing up never felt good was never hungry it was a nightmare and did I end up baking the world record no it took me several months to get used to not eating ice cream all the time and craving all those Foods I ate when I was on bulk and to me not worth it in the slightest it didn't result in breaking a record didn't put on a ton of muscle and so why do it yo-yo dieting up and down if it leads to you becoming obese it's not healthy much better for you to maintain a healthy body fat percentage which where you have lots of energy can train hard and make the gains consistently over time now if you
