yes hey guys jimmy here and welcome back to another video so back in 2013 2014 when i was sort of posting my first proper videos onto youtube i noticed that i would get a lot of spam comments and they would all say the same thing which was something along the lines of try out x motor racing i hear it's very good or x motor racing is the best simulation available you should drive it so much so that it sort of became a little bit of a meme in the sim racing community for a little while and back then i did try it out and it was interesting but it's been a long time since i last drove x motor racing so i thought what i would do given the history of the game and given my opinion on the game is go out actually spend the money on the game and let you guys know what you've missed by not playing x motor racing and speaking of spending the money when you go to buy x motor racing which from what i can tell has not been updated since 2014 you have four options as to how much you want to pay and for what you get so the standard version which is what we're going to be playing today it's about 15 bucks which i think works out just above a tenner which is actually fairly reasonable for a simulator for an extra couple of features for the pro version you'll be paying 350 then again another step up to the ultimate is eight hundred and fifty dollars and for the enterprise version which unfortunately does not come with your very own jean-luc picard though to be honest the price suggests that it might will set you back two thousand two hundred and 250 dollars it feels like this game was sort of trying to cash in on the big r factor hype at the time because i think our factor thought was reaching its peak in the early 2010s around there and thought that charging over two grand was the best way of enticing developers in to try their program so i thought what i would do is boot up x motor racing and go through the experience of this game so you don't have to because if memory serves it weren't great just before i get into my daily dose of suffering if you find yourself enjoying this video at any point and you want to see more videos like it then i'd very much appreciate it racing profile that i've had to password protect with a very very complex and long password because i paid for this with my mum's credit card and she'll be very angry if she found out oh god punch in the face main menu then and usually if this sort of video what i would do is i would set up a race because ai racing can be pretty fun and usually it's kind of fun to to commentate and drive but uh you can't do that in this it's hot lap or nothing so i guess we'll go and do a hot lap the first thing i want to show off is this game's just simply awesome track selection here on the standard edition let me just go and show you run you through the tracks as you can see the d park is our only available circuit the park full of d fantastic appropriate i think for the game but i'm happy to say we do have a couple more cars to choose from we have this the roster which is totally not an audi a4 that's not even seoul then we have the audi tt not a tt sorry uh we have the gb 3000 which is a mitsubishi 3000 gt the dockster which is probably what the creators of this game are going to do to me after this video it just says viper on the front let's put viper and then put i behind it i said well no it's not a viper it's a vibe we also have a v911 but i can't quite make out what car it's meant to be i'm sure my brain's big enough for that and then this the murder which has about as many polygons as my shed does so obviously i'm going to start off with the vivari because it's definitely not a viper and i'm interested to see what this game's version of a v10 sounds like i have to say that i've never seen a sim with a physics menu so i can adjust the simulation accuracy from high to low um obviously higher because we're pro sim racers talking about damage model as well to high let's turn up that damage model to high i guess we can't do that i can't wait to see what high simulation accuracy feels like but we're definitely trying low as well in this video oh here we are in our viper we're in the sun oh god um what view am i in clutch first kit i mean it sounds good let's change the view i think that's the v well the onboard camera is it's a little bit hard to see out the windscreen i'll give it that so we'll try we'll avoid that for now i guess we'll just have to chase cabin super gt style oh my god this thing is loud all right let's go i think i've got trash control on something i have no idea how to turn it off though they're at donald trump sorry d park can i hear and tell this oh god oh the full feedback is all sorts of crazy strong let's go down the hill create a curves time oh god i mean the 4c back is doing things and we are going around the circuit i wish we could do the onboard view but as you can see visibility not fantastic oh my god oh my jesus okay definitely in that 2014 shine there bear in mind that there are playstation games that are out that look far better than this gt5 came out in 2010 oh jesus stop stop we're going to be this isn't me i'm not doing that i actually shouldn't force you back down as well this i wasn't sure what to expect as you can see it's it's certainly something all right so i can turn traction control i've turned traction control and i think stability control off now i think yeah definitely have i wonder if i can drift this thing with my formula rim this is the path where the broken wrists this is [Applause] oh my jesus christ we are witnessing we are witnessing physics visits are happening oh my wheels my my will does not know what to do it is so confused i'm getting full seat back in such weird places at such weird times i should have bought the enterprise version my touch kick i'm going yes i can it returns to the center it reminds me of something like on the center pivot let's try and really make it oh god that is so odd let's try it from the big chunks hood cam see if this helps at all shall we to his credit the 40 back is working on a modern wheel which you know you can't really be too upset with trying to actually drive the car now so just mess about let's see if we can get in like kind of a lap you notice i'm not wearing my virginity protection gloves because this game is it's just too strong it's just too strong there's no point resisting here we go then let's see what happens t1 here then toe on the way in big block up oh my gosh the detail the full feedback there's no detail it's just strength which is exactly how i like my 4c back break my arms daddy i'm into this [ __ ] oh jesus and bear in mind all that wheel movement into the breaking zone that's not me that is the full seat back and me trying to keep it in a straight line with my noodle arms an extra level of special this is i'm not the good special the bad special stop it stop it stop it i'm sorry i didn't mean to talk ill of your game stop it i take my hand off the wheel to switch gear and it tries to kill me like any car good car should if you're not being murdered by the game it's a bad stop it it's a bad game it's like it has a variable tip it feels like it's open and then close at the same time i'm incredibly impressed by that drifting simulator drifting simulator oh we can is there a pit stop in this game oh [ __ ] microsoft paint pit stop fill me up thank that's you how easy it is chad simulation value well that was an adventure shall we try a different car now but this time i want to try the low simulation value and see just what changes what's the difference got my arms hurt after that that full sea back is brutal i even turned it down it's still trying to murder me all right so to the options we go to physics simulation accuracy low now we're talking this time i think i'm going to take the weeb car because i'm all about that web life let's make it foggy and go for some sort of nice sunset vibe i wonder if this will work oh [ __ ] we got silent hill baby can we go on board with this car we can um but i can't really do i have a headlight button i think we have headlights we press l oh look at that now we're talking right so we're now on the arcade physics let's see how this uh this goes compared to the other one right we're away at scenic donington what's different let's go down to t1 oh my god well wants to kill me more i'll give it that okay that is um slightly more believable than the the uh the high physics simulation we'll see if that continues or not a bit sliding just a little bit oh god stop it stop it stop it oh stop it will we got some weird sun coming in terminally the uh exposures all sorts are wrong why i mean it's still kind of terrible but it's better than the advanced one i think i'm not sure what to make of that and if we change view you can see the lighting changes drastically oh my god you're finished you're done can you imagine if you bought the enterprise version of this game thinking it's gonna be the the the new hot [ __ ] i can't wait to try out i can't wait i can't wait to try out x motor racing and the show one enterprising entrepreneur i am just to find out your world's gonna try and kill you uh the lighting of the sim depends on what view you're in absolutely fantastic but it's definitely worth the two thousand dollars definitely definitely you know have you oh my god it kind of feels like nothing's really connected you know like there are there are physics there obviously but i think it's what happens when you sort of just punch numbers into a simulation goal that's what it is in real life then you realize that when you put something into a sim you have to sort of make changes to actually make it drive like it would stop it i know it might look like i'm sort of playing up this force feedback thing here i i could probably turn it down a bit more than i already have but this is the genuine okay i'm letting my arms go limp it's just a wheel though out i feel like that's the sun over there by the way i feel like we're just about to go supernova so till that that's it's been good knowing you but that is x motor racing it's pretty much just as awful as i remember it being when i last played it which is quite impressive just imagine though this game exists at the same time as i racing has and continues to do so the same time as the original set of calls i mean you know what a hit that's become and even the same time as our factor two and was demanding 350 dollars for the pro version of the game which has more than just these these cars and tracks it's a no from me but yeah guys i hope you enjoyed coming along this rather crazy journey or wherever it was into x
