Cheshire Triathlon Race Day Information 2024

Event Overview

• Date: Sunday, 19th May 2024
• Location: Barony Park & Nantwich Swimming Pool, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 5QY
• Start Time: From 08:00 am

Pre-Race Preparation

• Checklist:
  • Race number (from race day email)
  • Trisuit/swimwear
  • Swimming goggles, towel
  • Cycling/running kit, cycle shoes, helmet
  • Drinks bottle, sunglasses (optional)
  • Bike tools/puncture kit
  • Running shoes, cap (optional)
  • Energy drinks, gels, bars
  • Change of clothing

Distances

• Sprint & Sprint Relay: 500m swim (16 lengths), 21k cycle (1 lap), 5k run (4 laps)
• Super Sprint, Fun & CRUK Wave: 200m swim (6 lengths), 21k cycle (1 lap), 2.5k run (2 laps)

Travel & Parking

• Sat Nav Postcode: CW5 5QY
• Parking: Available at Barony Park, £3 cash donation
• Toilets & Changing: Available at Barony Park Sports Complex and Nantwich Swimming Pool

Registration Process

• Location: Orange Mornflake marquee
• Times: Saturday 2-4pm, Sunday from 6:45 am
• Race Envelope: Includes race numbers, bike/helmet stickers, timing chip, wristband, transition bag band

Race Day Details

Swim

• Location: Nantwich Swimming Pool
• Rules: No diving/backstroke/tumble turns. Swim clockwise.
• Intermissions: 20s interval (Sprint/Sprint Relay), 15s interval (Super Sprint)

Cycle Transition

• Transition Areas: Two (Nantwich Swimming Pool & Barony Park)
• Rules: Helmet must be fastened, abide by highway code
• Drafting: Maintain 10m gap between cycles

Run

• Course: Count your own laps; marshals will assist
• Feed Station: High5 energy drink, water available

Relay Details

• Each team member completes one or two disciplines
• Electronic timing chip passed at transitions

Results & Prizes

• Provisional Results: Online on 20th May 2024
• Awards: Top competitors in Sprint and Super Sprint, age group categories

Safety & Conduct

• Respect officials, volunteers, and fellow competitors
• Illegal items: Music devices, mobile phones during event
• No littering, use bins
