Going on YouTube here back with another Scarlet Violet video and today we're going to be looking at some of the day one results from the Utric regionals that is going on right now. Uh so it's actually a pretty big weekend in BGC. This is not the only uh regulation I tournament happening right now. There's actually three this weekend. So if you look on Poke data uh you you can get the results from from Utrich of course, but you can also look at some of the other ones that are happening right now. So if you go to BGC standings over here uh and if you look uh there's actually two more that is happening right now. If you look at Melbourne, this is another one that's even ongoing right now. Day two is happening as we speak. Um and we'll be looking this one uh in its entirety of course along with regionals. Not in necessarily in this video, but just like you know uh to go along with this one. You know, the one thing that I will highlight already uh that I did see that was actually kind of interesting was that there is a Giratina origin team in Day2 A3 right now from Drew Bliss. So, uh stay tuned for this tournament recap. But Guratina, you know, with Levitate, it's and Terrafire has always been a pretty interesting threat in Regulation G. I will say that just because Karex Ice Rider can't hit it, right? Because you can't click high horsepower onto this thing and you can't even click glacial lance all that well because the terrifier is able to resist that. Uh, and then if you're afraid of the the shadow rider stuff, this is where like wide guard support from Zamasa really really comes in handy. And even if you don't want to tear the giritina and you're afraid of the glacial lance, this is again also where uh the wide guard support uh really comes in handy. And again another uh instance where you get this strong ghost type uh partnered with that fighting type coverage which is again very popular right now in terms of the uh dual restricted pairings. But, you know, we'll we'll speak more about this uh in our Melbourne recap video. But, you know, along with this uh if you even just go back here, there's also another regional happening right now as well. There's the uh Santiago's al also happening right now. I don't know if we actually have everything from Santiago. Okay. So, we just have the records right now. We don't actually have the the the open team sheets right now. So, you know, you'll have to stay tuned for this as well. But at the very least, you know, two more uh events happening and more data that you can look at for Regulation I uh if you're still trying to get your foot uh into the format here. But some interesting things are happening uh in Utric and we're going to be looking at some of those stuff along with the cores, the the usage rates and see how the carryover uh is affecting the results over here. And when I say carry over over, I mean like you know from Milwaukee, right? because that happened, you know, just like days into the format where it was like official, but now that we have uh another regional here. So now we can see uh if people actually took those results into account and brought them over uh into these three regionals this weekend here. All right, so let's take a look at the uh usage rates first and then we'll look at the the squads themselves from day one. All right, as far as like the top restricted pairing heading into day one, it is Maridon Lunala. How about that? And and again look at our graphic uh you know with the six months at the bottom of our of our screen. We've had that for you know throughout a lot of the month of April and for good reason because we very much believed in this combo uh and look at the the results even right now. So uh nice to see that and again the wide guard support really helps out the Marion because again the glacial lance is you know interesting in itself and then sometimes these teams run Ursuluna uh which is almost like a restricted in itself. You can always do like the wideguard earthquake stuff. Uh which is quite nice when you think about it. And you know the Ursula is great into the mirror especially against other Maridon Iron Hands teams where you can just smash them both. They only they can only tear a one, right? So uh at that point you know you're also taking advantage of trick room. Uh so you can just simply support uh the Urseluna with the wine guard support. And again Ursula being weak to something like uh a glacial lance. This is again also where wideguard comes in uh really handy. And again with the Wguard earthquake interaction, you can't hit your own Lunala because uh that's that's how Wguard works, right? Then the second most used pairing is a Meride on Calix Ice Rider of course very oppressive. You get a strong tricker mode on top of this and you know things that want to potentially bring in something like a boom, you know, to change Maridon terrain, they can't really do that uh just because the ice rider puts on so much pressure into them. And then you have the the ghost fighting restricteds like we mentioned earlier. You have the Zamaenta caloric stuff uh which was again at the start of the format when it was announced it was the duel to beat and people were well prepared for it in Milwaukee. Uh we'll see if that is the case yet again here in Utri and of course the Karon Lunala stuff. Again the sun partners are very very strong uh with with this pairing. Again think about Brute Bonnets, think about Flutter Chiu uh very aggressive cores uh that can also play uh relatively balanced, right? Just because they have a lot of tools that can, you know, set each other up. Uh and the the weather control uh is also very very powerful when you have the sun on your side. Uh but you know as far as like uh these restricted pairings you know no surprises right now as far as like day one uh maybe you might argue uh maybe there there could have been a hoid on carryover from Milwaukee but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the fifth most used restricted pairing but uh if we look at the just individual restricted uh usage now look at this. So there you go, Marion Lunala at 1 and two. Lunala shooting out at number two. How about that? But and then look, the Karex is at three and four. Uh so again it really really uh shows you that Lunala is just an amazing restricted in a in a dual format because uh it can really define its role here where you can support uh the other restricted in terms of like uh helping it set up and letting the other partner deal damage because when Lunala was by itself, you wanted it to do both, right? But it was hard to do both. You wanted it to do deal damage and you also wanted it to support and you only get four move slots. So, uh it was often uh a little bit too much in terms of a workload. Now, you can say I can uh have something else deal a lot of damage and let Lunala settle in into that bulky supportive restricted role that can click Chirkum and Wguard uh and you know, still deal a decent amount of pressure into other uh Pokemon because again, you still have a pretty good special attack stat. So, uh, usually sometimes these bulky trickum setters, they don't really deal that much damage, but Lunala can deal damage, especially if you can go for that plus one meteor beam, uh, in the beginning and then start clicking those plus one moongeist beams, those plus one expanding forces. Um, but yeah, it's it's really good right now. And then look at Hoo finally entering our graphic here in restricted usage at 10.7%. Oh my goodness. Right. That's definitely your Milwaukee carryover, of course. Uh, and then Kyogre getting a little bit of play now as well, 11%. Uh, and then Zamaenta and Karon rounding it out here at 18 and 16% respectively. So, um, you know, what are we learning right now? So, you can see again why the carryover here, you know, from the the ghost restricted with the fighting types, uh, that they're already here within top uses. And it's very clear like these Maridon teams are are quite popular whether it's like Lunala, Morideon, Lunala or or sorry, Maridon, Calorex, Ice Rider. Uh and then you know, believe it or not, there's actually a rising uh pair that's doing relatively well here and we're going to spotlight that in a second. And I think it also did relatively well in the in the recent global challenge. Uh but we'll speak about that when we look at the teams. But now in terms of just the non-restricteds, what do they look like? So this is uh the usage rates for these guys. Again, you need you need to be able to support your dual restricted, right? So these are your these are very easily your staples right now. Look at Grimnar, man. How about that? Okay, you know, this is definitely our era right here. The fact that we can have Grim Snar uh be the top prankster used uh Pokemon as opposed to Whimsicott and Tornadoes here. You know, I for one welcome this uh and I kind of want to just do like a separate video on Grimstone in general and regulation night. But the whole idea is when you have all these ubers dealing so much damage and you need a way to mitigate it, right? Think about like sword and shield dynamic stuff. Grimstar was great there and it's also great here as well just because the screen support um you know let you uh ruin a lot of damage calcs and if you're able to stay on the field, survive and get off your own attack and pick up a KO that just makes all the difference in the in the end game, right? And then of course the Thunderwave stuff uh for a little bit more speed control. The hacks that you can get. One pair of hacks is all you need to win a set or even to win a game there. And then you always have options like foul play against both Karex's or spirit break against some of the special attackers like the Shadow Riders or the Maridons that don't want to be taking spirit breaks, right? Even Lundala doesn't want to be taking spirit breaks cuz then it everything uh just hits like a wet noodle after one or two of those. Okay. Uh and then look at this. uh and incinor at one and two over here. Then iron hands at number three as opposed to uh again usually you'll see at you know within the top three but it has dropped in usage. Uh of course just because think about it uh you know these maron teams are using calorexes and these kideon teams they have fire type attacks and they have chus and it gets a little bit harder to use it when you have uh these ice types and fire types running around. So, uh, Riaboom, unfortunately, is taking a dip in terms of its usage, but, uh, it's still pretty good, right? Top six, uh, at 21% there. You still have priority grassy glide. You still have wood hammer, of course, uh, that can deal a lot of damage as well, especially into like Ursulons that haven't tried yet. So, you know, you still have things going for you if you are. You're still like a really good fake out mod. uh you're still relatively bulky with that assault fest, but uh times are changing in terms of uh what you can have in in that slot as opposed to something like a roller boom there. Uh but then after that, look at this down here. You have furigraph of course really good on those Maridon teams in general just because uh those options, you know, Maridon running a choice specs or assault vest for that matter. And you have an iron hands with potentially an assault vest there. Uh, and these are things like they they're just weak to priority moves or weak to fake out. And then the Fergraph is really good there in terms of supporting them. And sometimes they run the niche roar move uh to be able to get their Maridon out of there if they want to just nuke something with Draco Meteor. Flutterine Chiu staples uh on those Kodon teams. Usually uh they go hand in hand and that's why their percentages are relatively equal. Uh then you have Amongus. Uh again, not as high of a usage as it was, you know, in the previous four match just because more Maridon means more electric terrain, which means no spore. Uh and then after that, you know, tornadoes and Chenpow rounding out your your last two slots there. So overall, uh you know, we see a couple things here. Uh you know, Ribboom dropping is a reflection of the regulation I meta with more Maridon, more more calorex, more hoo by the way, right? You know, the real doesn't like ho either, right? um media and then you know just after that uh Iron Hands being really strong uh with those Mariana teams. Grim Snarl uh in a dual restricted format with screen support is really strong uh and then the Sun teams uh are utilizing their flood mates in their teams, right? So no real surprises in terms of day one from the non-restricted tier. So, uh, now that we've, uh, established the board state, you know, just in terms of the the stats, now let's actually look at the teams and see where we stand in day one and where what what could we look at, uh, into day two, uh, because that's going to start relatively short, you know, because of the the time difference, right? So, uh, let's take a look at these. Okay, so we've got the top eight on our screen here from day one, and we got some pretty interesting ideas. Uh, but look at this pair right here, Marion Kyogre. So, remember when Dar and I did our tier list, this is one of the pairings where like we thought could be pretty cool. Uh, but we just weren't sure like what the partners might look like and you know, it looks like a C tier or or like low Btier kind of idea. But here we are. So, a to uh from Nick, right? And a lot of these partners make sense. So, like tornado tailwind support, you know, kind of like Whimsicott, but Tailwind on those Maron teams here, but instead of whimsicott, we have tornado. And you know, you get 100% accurate Bleak Windtorm or in this case hurricane. And I would imagine why would someone prefer hurricane over something like bleaktorm because uh this is probably a workaround from the wideguard stuff like from Zama or like Lunala because if that's your only attack and they're clicking wideguard, what are you going to do? You can't click an attack. So, you know, hurricane is at least a workaround for that. I at least to what I understand. Uh and then from there you have manual rain dance. Of course, that's going to be good against like Coridons that want to like switch in and whatnot. You have the ice beam coverage. The ice attack on the Kyogre makes a lot of sense. It's great into like booms and and raging bolts that want to come in into the Kyogre matchup. And then, you know, to still protect your ogre against priority damage, right? Like from Garassi Glide or Thunderclap, this is where like Serena comes in and Serena, tornadoes, Kyogre, uh, this was always like a pretty cool regulation G team, right? Right. And then after that, you just rounded it out with something like Amongus or Chenpower or like uh other good supportive mons there or even uh but then like iron hands also works out here, right? because now iron hands on those Kyogre teams. We remember that from you know uh the internationals like last year but then now you add this with Maridon and now it makes sense because now you still have this anti- uh priority mod with Serena which is fulfilling like this furigraph idea you know which supports the Kyogre and the Marion at the same time. So, this is pretty cool in essence, right? So, the Serena is kind of playing that anti- priority role uh that a Ferggo would play, right? But now, of course, it's a completely different mod uh in essence, right? Because this thing deals a little bit more damage. It's a grass type, which is great uh in the rain. Okay, you got the ice coverage uh that you need to be able to deal super effective damage against some of these other Maridon teams. Uh and then wide lens, of course, you know, you don't want to miss. Taunt is great, you know, just to deny setup, deny trickum ideas. Uh, and then you have double taunt over here, right? So, that's going to be important. And then the Ursifu, of course, just does a lot more damage in the rain here. Makes a lot of sense. Uh, and then the the real surprise here, of course, is the the Maridon Thunder as opposed to Electro Drift. So, here's the thought process. I mean, if you This is kind of like the Caron concept where like collision course versus close combat. Uh, you know, close combat has more base power, right? And uh because of that, it can actually pick up uh some rolls and pick up some KOs that normally the uh the you know the uh collision course can't, right? Sorry, I I couldn't quite find the words there. And I would imagine the Marion idea is a little bit more similar to that where like Thunder has more base power than Electro Drift, right? Because if you put both on the screen here, so let me just put Morideon. Okay, if you look at the Electrod Drift, it does about it does this, right? It does 100. But then you look at thunder. Wait a second. Thunder has more base damage. I remember somebody commented this like in my one of my other videos like, "Hey, how about Marion Thunder with Kyogre?" I was like, "But then why not just use electro drift, right?" But then now I understand. Oh, wait a second. This is more base power. And this is almost doing like the Karideon concept, right, with close combat and and collision course here. Now, of course, this is less consistent because again, you you need you need to have Kyogre on your on it to be able to hit. But at the very least, you know, uh if electro drift is doing super effective damage, you are always like, you know, overkilling things anyway just because of how it works. Again, you deal a little bit more damage to super effective hits. But then thunder, you know, if it's super effective, it's dying anyway, just like electro drip. But now, if it's not, you know, thunder has a little bit more base power. And at the very least, you also get this chance uh to get yourself some parah hacks, right? 30%. Hey, look. If you told me I had 30% chance to to win a million dollars, I'm taking that chance. Okay, so you know, pretty cool to see Thunder Marion uh within the the first place over here. I want to see how far this thing can go. So, congrats to to Nick for a pretty cool idea to try and use. Okay, the Serena pick is nice. I like it. And Iron Hands, Tornado, Urs Ker. That's just like a, you know, an older regulation Gcore here, which actually works out with Marion. So, uh, shout outs to this. I I I I think I think I saw this in the global challenge. I'm not going to lie. Right. So, uh again, great great idea here. And then as we look down, um some other cool things like there's another Kyogre team here, by the way. So, like another So, Kyogre is finally actually picking up some play because you know, we saw like some Swordfish uh play in Milwaukee, but didn't really do all that well. But now you have this idea with Roaring Moon, Amongus, Iron Hands, Ursu. was also seen in Milwaukee and also like prior online tournaments just didn't really get the results uh that it could have gone but now we see it here uh again 7-1 strong and again you know this is like a different region but ice beam coverage here okay you've got the amongus for your trick matchup uh tailwind from roaring moon again the dark typing is really nice for the calorex and then you know your your acrobatics is doing great damage into amongus booms the ogre ponds Uh, and then the speed control that you can get with booster energy, you know, making sure that you get your your tailwind out first, even though it's not prank, so it's still great. Then the Ursu, Iron Hands, again, similar idea uh that we saw from the first team. Again, Ursu doing more damage from uh the rain. And then Iron Hands is just a great trick room to have along with the Amongus here. Uh again, fake out pressure with Roaring Moon here. set up your tailwind. Uh, and you know, low kick doing like 50% to the ice rider depending on their spread is is quite effective in all honesty. So, uh, but the second place team here is a Zamaenta Shadow Rider team. Uh, and now now we got some interesting partners, right? We've got Chenpow with Zamaenta, which we've seen before, of course. uh raging bolts good solid balance mon right with thunderclap you know protosynthesis great into ideally your uh karion matchups you know just to get a nice little boost here electric you know a little bit more damage uh along with magnet super effective uh amongus here vaky helmet again your your your your tricker matchup and then tingloo here is quite interesting look at this uh it's an a tinglu set with sand tomb so you can trap things ruin nation snarl snow and By the way, Rune Nation is a nice little tech uh that's that could see a little bit more play and has seen a little bit more play in this tour particular. I can show you another instance where it was used, but Rune Nation great idea into something like Lunala, right? Because you can break the shadow shield, get it down to 50% and then all of a sudden pick up a KO with something like a foul play, right? Or like another super effective move that you can deal into it. So, uh like Snarl, for example, doesn't want to be taken that. So, I kind of like that, you know, just to immediately deal 50% into into Lunala just right off the bat. Uh, and just 50% in general. And then, you know, this can break sash, of course. Uh, and it just makes it so that, you know, stuff like raging bolt uh can pick up KOs and, you know, things in range, which is something like Thunderclap for that matter. Asher barrage, psychic encore here from Caller, pretty standard here. How about crunch uh ice spinner from Chenpal? By the way, this is life orb chen pow. And then this is sash shadow rider, right? So again, I raised the question, you know, do you want uh to reverse the items? Do you want to go stash, Chenpow, and Life or Calix, or do you want to flip it here? Uh Sam is saying, I want to flip it, and I'm going to go off of the idea that was rising into Milwaukee, right, with, you know, like the online tournaments from April, and I'm going to go with life orb champ here. So, this makes sense here. Uh then we've got the wheezing stuff here. You knew like wheezing could be really strong in in regulation eye just because, again, shutting down abilities is annoying. Okay. And poison gas. Uh just doing so much chip, putting things in range for caloric, especially the life forb support here. Expanding force with Indeed. Again, good spread move here along with asher barrage. And then your your one real workound against wiggard is again just use your terror blast terra fighting. It's going to help you get around Incinor and the other dark types that are running around. Uh you have your own ward support with Zamazenta. The Chiu here of course you know with calories just helps to do a little bit more damage. Great into the mirror. More roaring moon action. So, two roaring moons here uh within the top eight. Uh then how about Cohen over here? Like Ante, you know, I'm not going to lie, Ante is a pretty underrated fire type to use uh and has always been pretty nice into you know uh Marion on teams uh because again pretty good into especially and sacred fire ante right and you know you don't have to commit your hoo slot uh with when you have sacred fire ante and you're faster anyway. Um, and then you can still do like priority extreme speed teranormal stuff. So that's also workaround for lunalas, right? Or even like calorexes. So yeah, I kind of like that. And you know, you still have like a pretty standard team, you know, whimsicott, iron hands, ipu, single strike. Uh, again like with the ursifu uh breaking through lunalas and calorixes and ignoring grimnal screens uh more important now because there's so much more grim snile of course. But I ironically again look at the top five. No grips now yet. Okay, but of course this is still like day one stuff. Uh and then finally we get our our first one here at eighth place over here. But look at look at Jamie Boyd's team over here. Okay, we'll look at that in a second, right? Because there's a cool Pokemon over there. Uh but let's look at Louis over here. Uh it is another uh caloric shadow rider Zamaenta squad here. This one's a little bit more standard, right? The fire water grass stuff here, you know, instant Zamazenta call. This is like a very typical uh EU team that you would expect to find, right? Just your your your balance boys, right? And then pick your double restricted here. I thought this would be something like Terrapos here, but again, Zamas is also like pretty strong here. And then the ogre pod, you know, uh pretty boring team, but again, it gets results, so you know, you can't disrespect it. But then you look at Jamie Boyd's team over here, man. Um okay, so we got Discharge Marion. makes a lot of sense because again you've got a blood moon or saloona here which again doesn't care about this charge because you are a ground type. Uh, you've got grimstar that can also go terraces. Okay, it's fake out fake tiers, thunderwave, foul play. Imagine this, you know, just you could do like fake tiers, you know, with supporting your maride on here. It could either do, you know, electro drift, draco bolt, any of these attacks, you know, with fake tiers is just it's just going to be a pretty bad time for the opponent, right? And then you still get the speed with thunder wave and then the foul play into the calorixes. The fake out pressure is really nice. Uh and you know grimstar vocarona you could do like fake out quiver dance right and then the vocarona ends up becoming a pretty cool windcon right very nice into you know zamazenta stuff and you know one speed boost is sometimes all you really need to outspeed things and then you got fiery dance you know getting these special attack boosts. So, Volcarona, another really good bond. Uh, you know, this this format along with Ente, very strong, especially like with Marion. And then, of course, look at this. First of all, it's AV Blood Moon. Uh, and then it's Snarl Blood Moon. All right. Again, we we talked about this in our Milwaukee video like Snarl could be like a really really good tech uh, you know, on the rise because again, you break shadow shield, you you pressure the Lunalas and the Karex's for that matter. And of course, Maridon doesn't want to be taking Snarl either, right? So, this just beats the mirror entirely, right? You know, you you the Marada can't do anything. You you snarl it and that's it. Uh it can't really click its electric moves and then if it wants to click Draco, it could. But that's why you have AB and then you have the Snarl and now all of a sudden it's minus three and you have an AV and how are you going to win that match up? You don't. So, smart idea here from Jamie. Okay, but uh the calorics, look at this uh hex. Oh my goodness. All right. So, you know, just imagine what can happen here with the status. Oh no, what are we doing, Jamie? And then another terror ground option, right? So, lots of ideas with ter ground here, right? Not just the blood moon, but of course the terraas from the grim and the calorex. And then finally, we have the chestnut with the electric seed. Okay. And here is your wideguard support. Okay. So if you're committing maride on calorax, no wide guard, but you can have it now when you have the chestnut here. So you have wide guard uh and body press. Okay, this is your your new Zambazenta. And then you know again with electric seed you're getting that defense boost. So now your body press is actually doing a pretty decent amount of damage. Uh and then of course the spiky shield and then leech seed is crazy. You know, think about when we looked at Dar's team from Milwaukee. Leech seed calorex Ice Rider. Now we've got leech seed from chestnut here. Again, this is like these endgame scenarios where like you're just alternating protects and leech seed and things are getting chipped. You they have to switch and they don't want to take any more chip and then all of a sudden they're out of position, right? And then they're just forced to take a electro drift or glacial uh not glacial astro barrage there. And then you know you're just putting things in range after like so much leech seed tip and then astro barrage just picks you up with life orbs. So, uh, what a smart idea here from Jamie. Again, you're you're I want to say it's like it's not even like budget Zama. Like, it is because it's got Ward and Body Press, but then, you know, the leak seed is kind of funny. So, it's it's a nice niche here for Chestnut. I I want to try and use this. I don't know if Jamie's going to make this team public, but uh if they do, man, I would love to to feature this or we can just build this ourselves and then just use it anyway. Uh, Cobra Cold Griff, by the way, again, makes sense because again, you're not really running speeds. You don't need the light clay here. So yeah, I want to see how far Jaime gets with this in day two here. All right. And then finally, we get another Grimstar here. So Grimson at seven and eight over here. This is your typical Grim set here. Uh and again, Vulcana, Iron. Yeah, this is like what we saw from from Milwaukee. This is this looks like almost like Joe's team here. But uh yeah, again, overheat willowis rage powder protect supportive vulk set here. Uh ice rider maron. But look at this. It's scarf maridon. I'm tired of playing speed ties is what Paul is saying here. And I'm going to go for these faster snarls. Okay. And then I'm not going to be losing my Draco meteor speed tie. I'm going to be the one that gets it off first. And then coaching Ershifu. Pretty cool again. Uh and Surging Strikes with the choice band support. You know, we've seen this before already. So, uh great job there from Paul. But nice nice stuff from from the top eight there. But, you know, there's there's more teams within Top Cut here that I want to see. Um, so let's look at these. All right, let's look at some of the other teams here and let's see some notable compositions. So, right away I've already see like like in ninth and 11th place over here. These uh the Pago Calorex balance stuff over here. So, of course, this is the the art type that I thought would do relatively uh well, I I should correct myself. Should do better in the EU region as opposed to the NA region. Uh, look at this. Calar, shadow rider, pogos, combine stuff, encore disabled. Then you've got the instant boom. idea with the ogre pond and then of course amongus rounds it out uh for your your trick room matchup there. So calm mine, you know, able to set up the pogos. You can blow up terrain, you can blow up weather from karidon, of course. Uh and then, you know, you can just uh use the encore disable stuff for the calorics to protect the pogos from stuff like, you know, body press from Zama Zena and whatnot. So, all in all, I I I I think these kinds of squads, just like the other one I said earlier, a little bit I I don't I I I I I want to try to find another word besides boring, but you know, uh you know, we even have a rental for this just in case, you know, people like this type of play stuff, but it's it's really good. You know, just the the double fake out set up the call mine and put things in range, you know, for the plus two, you know, terra startorms and whatnot. It's it's totally fine. It works. Uh, how about here Michael Kels? Okay, more Grimstar teams here with Marion, Callix, Ice Rider. How about the Landers coming in here again type coverage really good. So instead of the Ursa Luna or even like the iron treads, we're going with Landeras. Uh, and again being able to outspeed Chu by one point is is pretty good. Uh, taunt here as opposed to, you know, um, you know, Sansier force, but again, Earth Power, Sludge Bomb, relatively standard uh, in that sense. Uh then you know just a couple more things here. Here this one's the Urseluna idea again the uh electric seed Lunala the AV Maridon with Snarl then the Ursula. This is of course we've seen this uh you know in the previous Milwaukee regionals from Tang and Carson Confer. Uh how about here? Uh one of the Neielson brothers here again Sneezler. Oh we can't even look at it all. That's so that's so unfortunate. Uh but again Sneezer here with Zama Rhydon. We'll probably be able to see this in day two, but Sneezer electric seed finding some usage here. I actually don't even know if it's electric seed, but we'll we'll we'll see. Uh I think it's the Fergaf that's actually the seed there, but yeah. Anyway, um all right, this one, the screens maron hoo idea with Sinista. So again, you know, just being able to uh keep the hoo alive, you know, because there's lots of pivoting in and out. uh with Ho, you want to bring it out, you know, just to get a little bit more recovery. But then Sinisha comes in and also loves to do hospitality. It healed the partner. So there's some good ideas there with Sinisha and Hoo. And again, you know, Sinisha able to redirect super effective electric moves and water moves away from the ho. You get to resist both. Uh then you have life do support just to be able to get yourself back up to uh full health there. Call mine support with screens and fake out is really good. Hard to beat it. You can't icy wind it either because you have the covert cloak. Uh I think we saw this from Dawway in the previous region. Really, really good idea. Okay, this is the more hyper offensive variant as opposed to grim snarl. Uh it's the a it's the AV instant over here. Uh you know, you know, just fake out trick room parting shot into Ursula Luna. Uh we know something like this. So uh as expected to do well here. How about this one? This one is Smeargle here with the again another wide guard user with spore and fake out pressure would follow me. You know, kind of interesting to have Spore with your own Maridon, but it it works because look, there's double terrain here. So, you got Ribbomb and Maridon on the same team. You usually don't see that. Uh, but in Ershifu here. No iron hands, no fur here. Uh, but you do have this smear. So, there's an interesting play style here that uh, you know, might raise some eyebrows when you're going against it because, you know, you don't really prepare for something like this. And I guess um, you know, Pascalis, you know, was able to take advantage over here. So, I I like this a lot there. I want to see how far this smear variant goes. Here's another again another Landerous idea. Again, the same kind of squad, you know, again, leech seed uh calorics. You saw this from Dar, right, from the previous re uh regional. So, again, we just saw Lee Seed uh Chestnut here, but again, the the ley calorics again putting things in range, chipping things down for the eventual glacial lance is going to be very, very strong. So, I respect it. I think it's pretty cool here. There's actually a couple Groudons here, right? So, like here's one here from Carmine, uh, Italian VGC player here. So, ground on Marion. You I I I never thought I would see this, uh, you know, at least this high. You know, a 7-1 results pretty cool, but you know, you're you're pretty weak to ice rider. I always thought with this pairing, right? So, the partners had to be really, really good against it. And there is. So, you've got Inson, Terra Water, Fergraph, and the Iron Hand. So, you know, you you do have the tools to help you against the Ice Rider matchup, especially with Willowis pressure and foul play and the iron hands clicking low kick here. Vcaruna, of course, uh with Quiver Dance ideas, you you have the double fake out pressure that can do it. So, I get it. It does make sense. And then, of course, Vcarina doing a little bit more damage uh in the sun. Uhu not doing as much damage because again, the sun is out uh for the Groudon over here. So, it's quite interesting to see this kind of idea, but again, I like it. It's It's different. It's unique. Uh, and not many people are using it. I think this is the only kind of pairing with this kind of uh supporting cast that has it. So, I like to see more if Carmine can do go far into day two. This one is Aurelion, right? This is the whole screens idea, but we've got Ursula Fergaf stuff over here. Again, the ground typing is really good here. We had Ershifu in this slot here, but again, I like this idea. Um, just again, Maridon, Fergaf, Iron Hands, the typical four with Grim Snar, and then you round it out with the Ursul Luna as your ground type uh for the mirror matchup. Okay, how about this one? There's a Porygon 2 sighting, right? So, you've got Ice Rider Pagos instead of Shadow Rider Pagos. Um, but again, physical attacker, special attack. Okay, makes sense. In Ogre, Pon, Amongus, and then Trickum Setter with P2. again P2, you know, uh, shadow ball there. Uh, Lunala can't hit this thing and neither can the caloric. So, there's your one niche for Porygon. Uh, and then try Attack Hacks is always pretty funny there. Uh, and then Shadow Ball, you know, if you can clear it correctly, uh, it does so well into stuff like, you know, Flutter main and a, like I mentioned, the other ghost types. All in also nice to see Porygon enter uh you know the regulation I met Meta at least for one particular squad here. Uh this is more Vocarana screen support. We've seen this already before. Uh how about this one? This one's also pretty cool, right? Another Aurelion player. What was the Was that also Aelion? Hold. Oh yeah, we got two Aurelian players. Both both French. All right. So this one is Oki Dogi and Blood Moon Ursuluna with Marion Fergraph. All right. So we've seen a familiar core there. Then we have Grimstar Screens and Hoo again. Uh again, a very very good starting core that you can use. You know, just Marina, Grimstar, Hoo there. Uh then usually you'll see like Fragraph, Iron Hands, but instead we're going with the Okie Dogi in that slot there. And then Ursuluna here with life of support. Again, another Snarl user here. So AV Okie Dogi with Snarl. Uh again, you can't really intimidate this thing. So if you want to intimidate the hoe, it doesn't have clear amulet, by the way. So then you're going to suffer at the hands of Okie Dogi here. And Fergaf helps this uh relatively well because again you got choice specs and the uh AV Okie Dogi there. So not letting yourself be prone to like the fake out stuff, but uh poison jab, drain punch, snarl knockoff. Good move set there. Great against teraperry, great against the ghost types. Uh and the AV gives it a little bit more bulk, especially behind the screen support here. I like it a lot. Uh it's another different build here. And now we're starting to see a little bit more play from Blood Moon Arcelona as opposed to regular one. So that's that's already pretty nice. All right. Is this just the AV Maridon star? Yeah, it is. All right. How about this one? So how about Lunala Zamaenta, right? Wguard here, but then this Yeah, this is the way I think you have to play it if you're going to do Lunala Zama. This becomes the wguard user. Then you add the fake out bros and then this becomes Callmine Lunala uh with the grassy seed by the way. So now look, you got a defense boost going. Then you got the special defense boost going, right? And then you get more of that with the call mine support because you got fake out pressure here. So I like this a lot. Uh so no surprise to see this do relatively well. And then look, you've got double wideguard here with peliper. And then the peliper gives you wide guard support and it gives you weather control and you get speed control with tailwind. So peliper a jack of all trades on a team like this. Pretty cool here. Raging bolt is just like you know your your standard balance mod over there. Uh but yeah, nice nice idea there with that with that type of Marion squad. Lomazam, how about Morization stuff here. More Swordfish, but look at this iron jugulus instead of the Roaring Moon, right? Snarl, hurricane Tailwind. So again, another another Snarl user. Uh besides Chiu, again, Snarl being really really good. Uh it's Scarf Ogre, which I like a lot because now you get to run Thunder. Uh and then Ursuluna instant among stuff, right? So interesting. Usually you'll see like a lunala with something like this just because you know setting up trick room uh is something that instin love and enjoy. But now we're running tailwind ideas with sation kyogre and iron jugulus. So makes sense there. This is swords densation by the way. So uh you know shout outs to that. Uh then wait where was did I pass it? Um, I think I did, but no, we'll we'll probably get through. There's another Zian squad that I want to peep real quick, but uh I think we'll we have to scroll a little bit further down just to be able to see it. Um, but yeah, moving forward. How about this one right here? This one is more Pago Shadow Rider ideas, but this is Screen's Pago Shadow Rider with Inson. Okay, instead of Amongus, we got Grimnar here and again, Bulcarona again. Good solid fire type struggle bug rage powder. So there's our redirectionctor as opposed to something like an ogre pun. Okay, you can play it that way. Yeah, this is the one I was looking for. So Mr. Deay Palmer, again, longtime BGC player who uh we've had on the channel in in years past. Uh but look, he's running Runation Chenpow, he's been advocating for this for a while now, you know, the last couple of weeks, right? He's always insistent that like you got to play Zian Ker like this. And this looks like our rental also. But again, the rune nation, Chenpow makes a huge difference. Like what we said earlier from the Tinglu run nation, you get to break shadow shield very, very easily. Uh, and of course, because you have the ice coverage on Chenpa, you don't need to run ice beam on Kyogre. Instead, you can run thunder, which is good because you need this uh to be able to hit bulky water types. Uh, so I think thunder makes a lot of sense here. Substitutation is also really, really good. Uh, helps you get around the intimidate uh, cycling uh, in the early get- go. And then of course torn earth stuff with Kiger just is relatively standard there. So yeah and then look at this right after him at 49th place to look more more swordfish play. So nice nice little resurgence from uh Kyogization here uh that we thought could be pretty good back in Milwaukee. But now you're finally getting a little bit better results here. But let's see how they do in day two. But again no so no no uh ruation sent. It's just crunch and sucker punch here. uh than ice beam and ice Ice Spinner over here. This this almost looks like our our rental in all honesty, right? But this is really really good. Uh so good good job here from Tobias. Um and then look at this. More more more Swordfish, right? Look at this. Uh Zan, Kyogre, Instant Amongus, Landeras, and Roaring Moon. All right. So again, of course, Sanser Storm from Kyogre. Uh again, Landers really good into Maridon and the Iron Hands. Then you've got Roaring Moon here. Again, this is your Tailwind Setter. That's a dark type. Uh you got another one here with instant fake out pressure. So, you know, uh lots of swords, lots of swordfish teams, uh into day two. I think there was one that we skipped here. Maridon, Lunala, Hyper Offense, right, with Tailwind Whimsicott. So, that's cool. Fake up. Another team with Willum and Moridon on the same team. Okay. Uh this one is just uh another relatively standard one with uh just regular stuff here. Uh then as we go further down. So what else? Uh oh look at this. Uh this one is a little bit more balanced up. Look there's another ante. So shadow rider but chenpow here. Ant raging bolt among. So no tail support here. A little bit more balanced stuff. It's it's banned ante. All right. And it's a raging bow with e-webs. Okay. And then the shadow rider is sash with nasty plot there. So, life orb chant pal yet again with ice shard pressure, right? Putting things in range. We like that a lot. Uh then look at this one. How about this Groudonization? So, another Groudon team, but you didn't you didn't expect this. Uh but jump here with the Tailwind Chlorophyll stuff. We've seen this multiple times from uh you know like Karon stuff in the past, but now you've got walking wake here, right? Life Orb, Hydro Steam, Flamethrower, Draco, Ochreon, Cornerstone, and then the Zation is here, okay, to help you put pressure against the Ice Rider teams because, you know, Ice Rider kind of just has Groudon, jump left, cornerstone for breakfast a little bit. Um, you know, of course, you can always just tear up, but uh it it would help if I didn't have to do that. If I could just, you know, pressure it immediately with something like a Zian. And Zashian can do that here. Not very common, but it does well here. How about this one? I like this one, too. So like maride on ho screens but then you got the theion lander. We've seen this before uh just in terms of you know another thing that you could do uh you know just in years past like landers and ho had pretty good synergy just because again you could earthquake next to it. You add the intimidate support because again hoo uh already had a pretty high special defense stat. Now you add a landers here and you know even though oh they don't even have earthquake actually. All right. Again, not not very great uh with Marion and Iron Hands here, but you've got Scarflanders with Rock Tomb support. So, there's a little bit of speed control there. And this is good into the mirror, right? Rock tomb against another hoo team. Stomping tantrum, terror blast, terrafing. All right. And then U-turn here. So, we haven't seen this Landers uh in almost a year now. It's just not so great into our meta at the moment. But maybe now we can find some use out of it, especially with like Maridon and Iron Hands and and Hoo running around here. You can intimidate them or at least get some speed control with Rock Tomb at least, you know, with the scarf variant. We'll see what happens. But uh I'm I'm I'm waiting for it. Uh this one is just Dondo stuff. Again, Dondozo is still looking pretty good. There's not too many checks for it right now. There's no there's no um yeah amongus clicking clear smogs and there's no haze user right now. So uh this is this is posed to do well. Uh so and it's a droopy tatsugary. So like the the order of body press stuff. Yeah, makes a lot of sense here. Toxic spikes. Uh we've seen this again. It's Sneezer Electric Seed. Yeah, I I'm not surprised here. How about this one? How about the return of Tyranitar? Okay, Tyranitar in day two with this type of team. So it's Shadow Rider Zama Zenta. Uh, and again, Tar can break sash and you break shadow shield, too. So, don't forget that. So, there there's your nice little niche there for Tyranitar. And then, you know who else Tyranitar is really good against? How about Ho? So, Hoo can't click if it's fire move that well. It can't really click Bravebird all that well. So, Tar looking pretty good in that matchup. And then, like we said, you get to, you know, have a dark type against Shadow Rider and the Lunalas. and you break sash from Chen Palace and you break shadow shield like like we said earlier. So um you get taunt and knockoff here. You you have a sash uh that's going to help against like super effective body presses. Um unfortunately u rapid strike is still going to look pretty good here. But you know that's is also why you have like ogre pond and rewol to help you deal with that right and even like psychic calorics there. So all in all there's still a pretty good niche for a tar at the moment. So I I think we might even see a little bit more exploration moving forward, but we'll see. But nice to see Tyranitar on day two there in that sense. Um Dillyman's right. Look at this one. Sinisha Maridon Karex Ice Rider. Pretty cool synergy here honestly, right? You know, just being able to recover and get yourself back up to full here. Uh it's, you know, rage powder, life to support, matcha gotcha again, extra healing here. Uh you know, nice little niche there. No ho, but you don't really need it. Still pretty good with the maride on caloric stuff here. This is just straight up Ice Rider ho screens. You know, we haven't seen this. Uh, but here we go. Tailwind ho with otherwise relatively slow mods here. Not interesting idea here, but uh, Incinor, Amongus, Grimson. I don't think they really care about Tailwind, but here we are. We've got it. All right. And look at this. It's again leech seed calorax Ice rider and this makes sense here because you got really boom here. Um so a little bit more terrain recovery along with leech seed forcing out switches of course and then just dealing free damage all in all. Um how about more Maridon Kyogre stuff here. Iron Jugulus Fergaf uh so you know again another Tailwind user with Maridon here. So we've seen Whimsicop, we've seen tornadoes, now we see Iron Jugulus here. Uh, hurricane with Kyogre. Again, good synergy there. Snar support. So, I like this team. And then look, Ursio, Rapid Strike with Ogre. We've seen this already. Fergraph does make sense with Maridon and Kyogre. Okay, because again, Fergaf, a nice little uh partner there just because you get to stop the priority moves and stop the fake out against both the ogre and the Maridon. A also is pretty cool here. Uh, and then here we are. Ursa Luna here, which again, good synergy with Iron Jugulus because you can click Earthquake next to a flying tip. I like this team. I I honestly like it. I think this might be uh something worth exploring as well as the other Maridon Kyogre teams. So, you know, here we are. Um Oh, we're going to have a lot to talk about in day two here, you know, because a lot of these teams, they're they're pretty cool and they could do well uh you know, in day twos, but we'll have to see what happen. Look at this. Another one. Uh, more Kyogre stuff. All right, Ice Rider Kyogre. Uh, and it's Smeargle here. Fake out spore. Follow me. Transform. Wait a second. Is that Wait, wait. Is there something I'm missing here? Wait a minute. He he he gets this. Oh my god. No. Smeargle transform. Yo, that's crazy. How far is this going to go? Yeah, listen. Yeah, EU EU is kind of cracked right now. We got some stuff. This one we got uh ability shield kideon here. Yeah, makes sense with the with the wheezing uh shadow rider. Oh, hello. Yeah, again, wheezing shadow rider teams are always going to be good. I like this. This is very clever. Joseph Martin, smart idea here with the wheezing with the with those two. Uh and then um as we go down here, oh look at this one. Uh more maride on screens. Tingloo here. Runation. Tingloo again. Leftovers. Snarl support, right? Snar and runation. Smart idea here with Tingloo again, reducing special attack damage. Uh, and then you've got instant reducing physical damage. Then you got screen support. This is a very bulky team that isn't dying anytime soon. All right, especially when you have regenerator pivoting in and out. So, I like this. You're taking less damage and then if anything, you're going to recover more than what you were dealt because of all this damage mitigation there. So, I like that. So, shout out to Sebastian there. Um, man, all the This was a pretty big regional, I think. How many did we have here? 600 play. Yeah, we had 600 plus players, so that was pretty cool. All right, then. Look at this stuff here. Yeah, more more Runation. Tinglu Rock Slide. Very good against Hoo. Doesn't want to deal with that. Uh and then Iron Hands Lunala. Uh oh, look at Oh, yeah. This I thought this was a Maridon T for a second. Hold on. This is Coron Lunala. And then you've got Iron Hands Chi. Yeah. So, like Coridon Lunala with Chi makes sense. Uh then you've got Flutterbane here. So, you've got the sun idea. Then you've got Iron Hands and Tingloo in your last two slots. Very very interesting idea there from from Finn. Okay. And then of course uh the iron bundle Maridon stuff, right? Furigraph, iron bundle, iron hands, and the marina. Yeah, again that that's the classic four that you want to use with the bundle. And then of course your second restricted it's going to be the ice rider here. Okay, I respect it. And then ogre pon cornerstone which is again another good partner with the calorex. Again, sturdy is also really really solid here. So, all in all, pretty cool teams. I'm not going to lie. I I like the I like the Kyogre Resurgence here. Uh we'll see how many find their way into Top Cut, but all in all, I I think day one was very promising and a little bit more meta development, which is good. You know, we like to see that. So, we'll see if the other two regionals are also going to follow suit. We'll do recap videos of them as well as they wrap up their day twos. But, nice to see this uh from day one. Again, this is the one with the stream. The other two did not have it. Um, so that's unfortunate. Uh, hopefully one day we can get more streams out there for those places. But, uh, let me know what you thought of you tricked and let me know what you think could win day two here. Or win the whole thing. I should say just win the whole thing, not win day two. Um, but yeah, we'll be back with another video in the next one, guys. Peace out and enjoy day
