Overview
Napoleon Hill, born in 1883, authored "Think and Grow Rich," a seminal book on personal wealth and success principles.
The book analyzes the habits and principles behind the success of notable figures such as John D. Rockefeller, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Charles Schwab, and Alexander Graham Bell.
Despite being written 87 years ago, the 13 principles detailed in the book are still relevant today.
Principles of Success
1. Desire
Key Idea: A definite purpose with a burning desire to achieve it is essential.
Steps to Transmute Desire into Reality:
Specify the exact amount of money desired.
Determine what you will offer to receive the desired amount.
Set an exact date to achieve this desire.
Create a plan and begin acting on it immediately.
Write a clear statement of the above steps.
Read the statement aloud twice daily, imagining you already possess the desire.
Example: Edwin C. Barnes' journey to become a business partner with Thomas Edison.
2. Faith
Definition: Faith is a state of mind that combines thought vibrations with infinite intelligence.
Self-confidence Formula:
Believe in your ability and definite purpose.
Understand that dominant thoughts transform into reality.
Persistently hold your desires in mind.
Create and pursue a statement of your life’s goal.
Benefit others through your pursuit, attracting the right people and opportunities.
3. Autosuggestion
Concept: Autosuggestion involves training the subconscious mind through precise, emotionally charged thoughts.
Function: It is a gatekeeper of the subconscious mind, influencing thoughts with the aid of emotions.
4. Specialized Knowledge
Insight: General knowledge has little monetary value compared to specialized, organized knowledge.
Example: Andrew Carnegie's use of a Mastermind group to access specialized knowledge without possessing it personally.
