Sony launched its Bravia 3 TV in India in 2024. But Sony says that this Bravia 3 model is much better than last year's 82L TV in terms of picture quality and audio quality. But are they saying the truth? My name is Vineet Malhotra and today I will show you the true view of the Bravia 3 model which is Amazon exclusive. Friends, I will check Sony Bravia 3 on these parameters like all other TV reviews and I will tell you about it in detail one by one. I have given you timestamps in the description box, you can check it. But if you want to buy the Sony Bravia 3, then watch this 15-20 minutes video very carefully. Because when I check it in every parameter and tell you the details, then you will know that the money you are spending on Bravia 3, is it worth it or not. Like last year's model 82L, you get to see a slim bezel design in the Sony Bravia 3 with a plastic body. But it is a better body now because it has more of a sturdiness now. You will get a stand of a different type for the table mount and that is also a good thing. And the brand does not ship the table mount nor the wall mount in the box. You will have the TV delivered and after that, you will get either the table mount or the wall mount free from the installation team. But the Sony brand is doing this so that you don't install it yourself. This TV is neither too slim nor too thick from the side profile, you'll get medium thickness which is good. And along with that, you get this remote control in which you get a lot of hotkeys, a voice assistant button too, but you don't need that anymore because in Sony Bravia 3 you get Far Field Microphones and all you have to say is, "OK Google". Now let's talk about the panel. In the Bravia 3 range, we get an 8-bit FRC IPS DLED panel and when we tested its peak HDR brightness, it came up to almost 450 nits. This panel gives a peak HDR brightness of sustained 450 nits and if it is needed, then it can go up to 600 nits. But its duration is only for 2 or a maximum of 3 seconds. But that is also too good because when the panel has to show a lot of brightness, it can go up to 600 nits brightness and this is why if you see any content that is brighter than the brightest, then you will get a lot of details in it. This panel has a refresh rate of 60Hz and you don't get any kind of VRR in this. When we checked the contrast ratio of the Bravia 3, it came out to be approximately 1100:1. It is not bad, it is not exceptionally good. It is an IPS panel, but the one that impressed me more than its contrast ratio is the gray uniformity. I was very impressed with the gray uniformity because you will see very uniform colors, very uniform grays, whites, blacks, and all the colors and that is the best part. Sony is a brand that is very famous for its color optimization and here we get to see this in gray uniformity. All you will see throughout the screen is the uniform colors. This is the best thing in terms of picture quality. In last year's Sony 82L, you didn't get such a good color gamut as you get in Sony Bravia 3. Now this is very impressive because you get 100% sRGB but you also get 90% DCI-P3. This is exceptionally good. Why am I saying this? Because you will get a slight oversaturation of the blues otherwise, the reds and the greens are absolutely under the triangle. You will get a very close to natural color profile from this. Colors have a lot of depth and you get to see its variety because you get a sustained brightness of 450 nits and it can peak up to 600 nits for a few seconds. That is why you will get to see very good colors and their range from this particular TV. Talking about picture quality, after getting such a good color gamut, we have high expectations for the picture quality and particularly from the HDR and I was extremely happy with the performance of Bravia 3. Because the dynamic range impressed me the most. In this model, compared to last year's Sony 82L model, the dynamic range has been improved a lot. Color calibration has been done in a different way. Color optimization is done in a different way. This improves the color gamut. The result is that when you watch any scene, you will see more details. Particularly, scenes where there are more darker areas, you will get a great dynamic range and you will see details in the shadows. This way, your overall viewing experience becomes really rich and you enjoy watching that content, no matter what type of content it is. I never had any problem with Sony TV in motion blur and this time too, it's the same thing. In this, you get to see the Motionflow XR100 technology in the Bravia 3 and this is absolutely stunning because this is not a software-based MEMC technology. It is a chip-based MEMC technology that Sony has used and has been using in all their models. But the result is that you can watch any type of scene, whether it's sports or fast action scenes, you won't see any type of motion blur. And you know, this overall enhances our viewing experience. You won't see any type of banding, no matter how much premium content you're watching. And this overall enhances your viewing experience a lot. Sony Bravia 3 comes with Google OS out of the box with built-in Chromecast and you will also get support from Apple Airplay 2. The Google OS is very familiar and in the Google OS of Sony you will get a lot of apps and Sony has given a special app, Sony Pictures Core. Now this is a very big thing. It is a game-changer in a way because all the movies of Sony Pictures, you can watch them on your TV i.e. on Bravia 3 easily, you get a year's subscription for free on this TV and that is very good. If you use any Netflix account, let's say if you are using Netflix then the streaming in it is at 18 Mbps but the streaming in Sony Pictures Core is at 30 Mbps. So imagine the kind of picture quality on such a panel, on such a TV through Sony Pictures Core. So that is the kind of experience you are going to get from this Bravia 3 TV. As usual, you will get 4xHDMI ports in this TV, out of which, there is 1xHDMI 2.1 eARC port. And that is sad because I was expecting that you would get 2xHDMI 2.1 ports in Bravia 3. But that's not the case. You will get 2xUSB ports and all the connectivity options including Bluetooth and dual-band WiFi. So from a hardware point of view, you're sorted. In Bravia 3, you get support for HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision. So, in whichever major HDR formats, whichever content you play, it will play on this TV. Now, HDR10 was the most impressive for me because we didn't play HDR10, but HDR10+ content in Bravia 3. And we were really happy because, from last year's model, this TV is leaps and bounds forward in terms of HDR capabilities, and I am particularly talking about dynamic range. Dynamic range has been improved a lot in this TV. There are two reasons for that. You get a little more brightness in this TV and it peaks a lot. It will peak around 600 nits, even if it is for a little while, but now you get a very good brightness. So it is a far more capable panel than last year's model. Secondly, you will get a lot of detail in HDR10+ content when we watch it on Prime Video. So I was really happy. And the same goes for Dolby Vision content. Sadly, it misses out on Dolby Vision IQ. But that doesn't matter because you get ambient light detection mode on this TV. So, if there is too much light in your room, the TV will automatically reduce its brightness. And if there is low light, it will increase the brightness. You can switch it on or off, you can do anything as per your choice and requirement but this is a very good thing, Dolby Vision IQ or HDR10+ Adaptive also works in a similar way which this TV is automatically doing for you. Now it also has a Dynamic Contrast Enhancer which works even better in Dolby Vision and HDR10 content. Since it is an IPS panel and the IPS panel has a little less contrast ratio, we didn't feel any lack of blacks in Dolby Vision content. The details in blacks and the colors were very much proper and we were really happy with Netflix's performance. If you look at Disney Hotstar, you will find Dolby Vision's performance very good and to say the least in every app, whether it is the Sony Liv app, Hotstar app, or any other app, you will only find 4K content. So the good part about this is that you will find any app, that is completely purchased on the Google OS. That's why Sony's Google OS is a different thing. Hands down to the SDR content upscaling. Because if you don't expect the best upscaling capabilities from Sony's Bravia TV, you will make a mistake. Because whether it's an SD channel, where you can catch a news channel or watch any other channel, you will get the best upscaling capabilities from this TV and if you watch an HD channel, I guarantee you that you will be deceived that it is 4K movie playing or HD 720p content so this is the kind of upscaling that you can expect from Sony Bravia 3. So in the upscaling department, no complaints whatsoever, so it would be a small thing to say, actually the best upscaling. If we talk about the gaming department, then in the Sony Bravia 3, the improvements you get are even more than the Sony 82L of last year. For the first time, you will now get the Dolby Vision gaming performance. That is, Dolby Vision support will be in your gaming. If you have a Dolby Vision game, then when you connect the PlayStation 5, this TV will automatically make you play Dolby Vision gaming. This is also compatible with HDR gaming and you will get HDR tone mapping in this. Scene-by-scene contrast, brightness, and colors will be enhanced and according to your requirement and content requirement, they will automatically adjust which will make your gaming and overall experience amazing. This TV comes with an HDMI 2.1 eARC port which is not a complete port but you will get Auto Low Latency mode in it which will reduce your input lag while gaming. It will be somewhere around 10 ms and it is very good. You will thoroughly enjoy the gaming, and the fun of gaming on this TV is completely different. If you are not gaming through PS5 but by chance, if you are watching Netflix from your console then this TV will automatically detect this and whether you want to turn on the game mode or not, this TV can also do it easily. So auto genre detection is also a very good thing that you get in this Bravia 3. In Bravia 3, you get the same 20W speakers that you get in Sony 82L but with one major difference. Now you will get Dolby Atmos compatibility in these. To listen to it, you won't get any major significant change. I would suggest taking a listen. These speakers are good and you can enjoy any type of content with them. You won't have any problem listening to the dialogues but you can't call them cinematic speakers in any way. The good part is that if you connect the Dolby Atmos soundbar to this TV then you will get Dolby Atmos pass through easily. Now this is a good part and I strongly recommend that you watch my soundbar videos. You will enjoy it a lot and you will also get a good soundbar for your Bravia 3. On all the parameters of Sony Bravia 3, this is my rating and I give it an average of 8.6 score. This is a good score and if I compare it with Sony 82L, the last year's model, then this is a much better TV. You, whether you buy a Sony 82L or Bravia 3, you won't make any mistakes. So if you are confused about which TV to buy from these two, you can buy any of these two. This is Amazon-exclusive TV and it's launching in 3 sizes, and the prices of all 3 sizes are shown on your screen. The links are given in the description box and in the VM-One TV List. Go and check them out. And please buy from my link because we work very hard to make such reviews on this channel and you are the only source of my earnings. Before I tell you the pros and cons, I want to make it clear that I didn't buy this TV. The brand sent it to me to review it for you. But I didn't take money from the brand. I just want to tell you this so that you know that the choice is entirely yours, if you have to buy it or you don't have to buy Bravia 3, only you will decide. I am just giving my honest opinion. Now I will tell you the cons of this TV first. Bravia 3 is a very good TV in my opinion from last year's 82L. But my expectation was much higher with Bravia 3. I was expecting that it would have a peak sustained HDR brightness of approximately 500 nits which I didn't get. This is not a very bad thing or it is not bad. 450 nits is good and it is also a good thing that it can peak up to 600 nits whenever it is needed. But I am expecting more. This was just one con and I will add one more con that we don't get a full HDMI 2.1 port or only one port is given and the other is not given. And I think Sony should listen to this and you have to give more HDMI 2.1 ports because if I put PlayStation 5 on one port then put a Dolby Atmos soundbar on the other. This should be my choice. If I put one of them, that is not the right thing. But if I start talking about the pros then maybe this video will be longer by 10 minutes because a lot of changes have been made to this TV. I am particularly impressed by the dynamic range of this TV. This has become so much better than the previous model. Now you will see so many details, you will see such colors and the color gamut is amazing. You will get a 90% DCI-P3 ratio in many other TVs but the triangle that is formed which I am trying to show you again and again is very important. The way red and green come in a proper triangle means that you will get a natural color profile. The colors that we see most in nature are red and green. We get a little oversaturation of the blue color but that is not affecting that much. This is not spoiling the overall picture quality. You will see a little bit of bright image which is not bad at all. You will enjoy watching these colors. Overall in any type of content, whether it is a movie on Netflix, in that too you will feel like a real-life picture quality, and that is the best part. If you watch SD and HD channels, then on upscaling, there is no better TV than Sony Bravia. Because the upscaling capabilities of Sony Bravia 3 are outstanding. You cannot expect anything more from this TV. You get Sony Pictures Core which is a subscription free for a year. That is also a very good boon. Because according to me, the streaming quality like this or the movies like this, who doesn't love Sony pictures? And the things you get, this is a very great thing in itself. The improvements that have been made in the gaming department particularly the Dolby Vision gaming is very good and it is a welcome change because if you have a Dolby Vision game, then with the same dynamic range and the same HDR capabilities you will play the game the way it is made and the panel is completely and fully capable of doing that. You get Dolby Atmos support, though I am not very impressed with the audio quality. No major changes have been made, but Dolby Atmos support is again a welcome change. And last but not the least, you get a hands-free voice search, so all you have to say is again, "OK Google". This was my True View of the Sony Bravia 3 model which is available on Amazon and it is an exclusive model of Amazon. How did you like this video? Do let me know in the comments section.
