  • Rolling Drawings: The incorrect method is rolling the drawing inside.
    • Title block placement allows for reading when rolled correctly.

Purpose of Blueprints/Construction Documents

  • Convey Various Information:
    • Building Instructions: How to build the structures.
    • Design and Materials: Details of the design and materials.
    • Permitting: Information for city permits.
  • Audience: Includes clients, subcontractors, contractors, and city officials.

Composition of Construction Documents

    • Not just architects and engineers; subcontractors are involved early for input on plumbing, lighting, etc.

  • Set Composition:
    • Title Sheet: Contains general notes and city information.
    • Survey and Site Plan: Details on impervious areas, existing and new footprints.

  • Plan Components:
    • Foundation, Floor, and Demolition Plans: Include what is removed and added.
