Features of the GEM Platform

1. What is GEM?

  • Definition: Government e-Marketplace (GeM)
  • Mechanism: An e-commerce platform between the government and seller

2. Versions

  • The first version was launched on August 9, 2016.
  • The current version is 4.0.

3. One-stop Online Procurement

  • Procurement possible for all departments from a single portal.
