Spanish Lesson: Describing Yourself
Objectives
- Learn to describe yourself in Spanish using basic vocabulary and patterns.
- Introduce yourself using your name, birthplace, birthdate, and other basic personal information.
Basic Spanish Greetings
- Hola: Hello (do not pronounce the 'H').
- Buenos días: Good morning (used before noon).
- Buenas tardes: Good afternoon (used from noon to around 6-7 p.m.).
- Buenas noches: Good evening/night (used after dark).
Introduction Questions and Responses
- ¿Cómo te llamas?: What is your name?
- Respond with: Me llamo [Your Name].
- ¿Cómo estás?: How are you?
- Respond with: Estoy bien, gracias. ¿Y tú? (I'm well, thank you. And you?)
- ¿De dónde eres?: Where are you from?
- Respond with: Soy de [Your Place of Origin].
- Example for nationality: Soy estadounidense (I am American).
- ¿Cuántos años tienes?: How old are you?
- Respond with: Tengo [Your Age] años.
- ¿Cuál es tu correo electrónico?: What is your email?
- Respond with: Mi correo electrónico es [Your Email].
- ¿Cuál es tu número de teléfono?: What is your phone number?
- Respond with: Mi número de teléfono es [Your Phone Number].
Personal Information
- Mi nombre es [Name]: My name is [Name].

Discussing the Weather
- ¿Qué tiempo hace?: What is the weather like?
- Possible responses:
- Hace viento: It is windy.
- Está nublado: It is cloudy.
- Llueve: It is raining.
- Nieva: It is snowing.
- Hace buen tiempo: It is good weather.
- Hace frío: It is cold.
- Hace mal tiempo: It is bad weather.
