CPA Ontario Showcase Competition

Overview

• Annual Video Competition for High School students.
• Hosted by CPA Ontario, part of the High School Ambassador Program (HAP).
• Top prize: $1000, plus a $75 e-gift card for the teacher and a class plaque.

2024-2025 Theme

• Title: Designated for Entrepreneurship: Empowering Innovation and Growth.
• Objective: Present a business plan addressing a market need.
• Emphasizes the role of CPAs in fostering innovation and strategic business growth.

Competition Timeline

• Opening Date: December 2, 2024
• Closing Date: May 22, 2025

Prizes

• 1st Place: $1000, class plaque, $75 teacher e-gift card
• 2nd Place: $800
• 3rd Place: $600
• 4th Place: $400
• 5th Place: $200
• Teacher Draw Prize: $100 e-gift card (increased chances with more student submissions)

Participation Benefits

• May fulfill components for SHSM as a sector-recognized certification or elective.
• Can also serve as experiential learning in business-themed competitions.

Submission Guidelines

• Submission Method: Email with YouTube link.
• Required Information:
  • Participant's name, HAP ID, phone number.
  • Teacher's name and email.
  • School's name and address.
• Video Requirements: 60-90 seconds, unlisted on YouTube, complies with YouTube's Terms of Service.

• Originality and creativity
• Clarity of ideas
• Adherence to theme
• Performance and delivery
