Overview

This lecture provides an overview of how to access the Desire2Learn (D2L) platform, Brightspace, through the Calgary Board of Education, with login instructions for students, staff, community partners, and parents.

Platform Introduction

• Brightspace by D2L is a secure, personalized learning platform used by the Calgary Board of Education (CBE).
• Access to D2L is provided to students, staff, community partners, and parents.

Student and Staff Login

• CBE students and staff sign in using their assigned username (format: 123456789 or jadoe).
• Login help is available specifically for students and staff.

Special Access for Other Users

• Special login is available for students in Professional Development and community partners.
• These users sign in with the format: firstname.lastname.
• Login help is available for community partners here.

Parent Access

• Parents have a separate sign-in page for D2L.
• Parent support includes login instructions and a FAQ page.
• Parent login help and Frequently Asked Questions are provided.

System Requirements
