Overview

  • Title: SCP-173 - SCP Foundation

Secure, Contain, Protect (SCP) Foundation

  • Motto: Secure, Contain, Protect
  • Purpose: Containment and research of paranormal phenomena

Special Containment Procedures

  • SCP-173 is to be kept in a locked container at all times.
  • Minimum of 3 personnel required to enter the container.
  • At least 2 personnel must maintain direct eye contact with SCP-173 until all personnel have exited and relocked the container.

Description

  • Origin: Unknown
  • Composition: Concrete and rebar with traces of Krylon brand spray paint.
  • Behavior: Animate and extremely hostile; cannot move while in direct line of sight.
  • Special Notes:
    • Personnel must alert each other before blinking.
    • Known to attack by snapping the neck at the base of the skull or by strangulation.
    • Any deviations in behavior, such as sounds of scraping stone, should be reported.

Anomalous Properties

  • Behavior: Makes scraping stone noises when unobserved.
  • The presence of a reddish brown substance (combination of feces and blood) on the floor of its enclosure is noted.
  • Regular cleaning of the enclosure must occur bi-weekly.

Additional Information

  • Personnel Instructions: Must observe Class 4 hazardous object containment procedures during an attack.
  • Reporting: Changes in behavior should be reported to the acting HMCL supervisor.
