I bought every Mancera fragrance, so you don't have to. We have about 45 fragrances we're going to go through in this video. I'm definitely going to be intoxicated after sniffing all these chemicals. Mancera is a brand that is often praised in the fragrance community, as it's seen as your...
first niche brand where you want to up your game from designer fragrances from the mainstream stuff to something that's still affordable in the niche realm. These fragrances that Mancera produce are usually going to be synthetic but very mass appealing, giving you a lot of compliments and usually perform fantastic. Unfortunately though, what I've noticed in my experience is that as I was exploring the brand, people usually only often mention the popular fragrances in Mancera for men.
which are going to be things like C'est D'Aboisé, Instant Crush, Red Tobacco and Oud Lemon Mint. I'm going to cover those fragrances at the beginning of this video. However, I sort of wanted to make this ultimate buying guide where I buy every single fragrance on their website. So basically, I went to their men's section and their Oud section and I bought every single fragrance there.
Fair play to Mancera, definitely buy from them guys because they have fantastic customer service. They accidentally overcharged me for postage and refunded me straight away about 20 euros. and have a very easy way as well of trying out all their fragrances through sampling as well, which most brands don't do.
So essentially most of the fragrances today are going to be through two ml samples. Fantastic offering from Mancera, really glad they let you do that. Basically I wanted to buy all their fragrances to see what the rest of their stuff is like, because a lot of people don't talk about a lot of the other fragrances from the brand.
I think they probably have way too many fragrances in general. I'm talking way too much now, this intro is getting too long, but basically we're going to have a rundown of every single fragrance. It's not a perfect guide guys, there's so many fragrances to try that I've applied every single fragrance over the last few weeks on my skin at least once. Some fragrances I've given a full wearing if I'm really interested in them.
It's not a perfect guide at all, it's more of an overview, it's not as in-depth as maybe you may want it to be. But I think you know I can give you guys a good summary for each fragrance and it's very easy to try any fragrances from Mancera by getting a sample. Let's get into the video My entire notes diary that I've created for all these fragrances will be in the description down below As well as time stamps for any particular fragrance you want to see So remember guys as this is a men's fragrance review channel We're going to be viewing Mancera from the men's point of view based on what they offer us men on their website However, if you're a woman, you should check out this video as well because there's going to be a lot of feminine fragrances here that I wasn't expecting. And plus, there's a lot of unisex offerings from the brand in general. Because there's over 45 fragrances in this video, oftentimes I'm going to need to re-spray them on paper strips to remind myself of the fragrance that I've tested.
However, these first few are the most popular fragrances from the brand, so I definitely don't need to re-spray them. Mancera Cedrat Boisé. My formulation is a slightly older formulation. It's in between the extremely strong version of this fragrance and the newer magnetic cap version.
This is still a screw cap that you have to screw on and off. But essentially, Cedrat Boisé is the Adventus style of perfumery done in the Mancera way. They've got this extremely lemony DNA, so it's strong, sharp lemon with a smoky leather.
as well as some fruity black currants. It's a fruity, smoky, woody fragrance. It is extremely handsome. I've told you guys the stories I've had from this fragrance before. I've had women tell me that I smell divine wearing this, one of my most complimented.
I think Adventus smells better, but this definitely gets you so many more compliments and it easily blew Adventus away in the public reaction video that we did a few months back. C'est un Boisé is a handsome, easy to wear, versatile fragrance you can rock all year round. I'm getting about eight hours on my bottle but I do not need to recommend the original anymore because Cedra Bois Zay Intense now exists. I had a two mil sample of this fragrance and I definitely think it's better. It's basically that same DNA but made more smooth.
I said it meant to smell better because I think Cedra Bois Zay can be a little bit too synthetic, a little bit brash and the Intense version smooths it out and adds this oud accord that this brand is known for. So you're going to see a lot of oud fragrances in this buying guide. Mancera.
I do not think they're going to be using any real oud in any of their fragrances, just because the price tag would not suggest it. You're going to be spending $200 to get a real oud fragrance. I might be wrong, but it's very unlikely you're going to get real oud in Mancera.
But they have a very pleasant oud accords. I think they're using different... chemicals combining them together to make an oud effect.
And they've done it really well in C'est Reboisé Intense. It's now lasting 12 hours, it's smoother, it's a bit closer to the skin, but overall I'd say definitely a better fragrance to wear as your versatile signature. And I would definitely say C'est Reboisé leans more on the masculine side rather than feminine.
Mancera's Oud Lemon Mint. I don't like Oud Lemon Mint's opening. It smells like this hard candy lemon drop sort of opening.
You know those candies that you used to get as a kid that's a bit brash. It lasts a few hours. It's not horrendous but it can be challenging but the dry down is where the magic happens here. It becomes very clean, musky, woody.
Again that's Oud Accord which is I think just a bunch of different nice wood molecules combined. Very long lasting. It's great because it's a summer signature that is going to last 14 hours.
It's still very bright, easy to wear in the warm weather so it makes it makes it very useful. It's a pleasant fragrance and gets me some compliments still. I would say it has a very soapy clean effect to it and it smells more masculine rather than feminine in my opinion.
Mancera's Instant Crush. I used to own a full bottle of this. It is the Baccarat Rouge 540 style of perfumery. Loud, aroma chemical based sweetness. A lot of vanilla packed in and becoming more dense in the Mancera style with a lot more florals.
It's a lot more creamy. So it's a creamy, loud, sweet floral fragrance that's a head turner. Very synthetic and very loud. Not my kind of style of fragrances to wear, but I do appreciate it for what it is.
So I think, you know what, I'm going to do some ratings out of 10 for each fragrance as I'm going along, so you guys kind of appreciate what I think. These are my personal ratings. You may agree or disagree.
I'm going to give Cedra Bois, the original, an 8 out of 10. Cedra Bois Intense, I'm going to give a 9 out of 10. Oud Lemon Mint, I'm going to give an 8 out of 10. Instant Crush, I'm going to give an 8 out of 10 as well. Mancera's Red Tobacco. I wore many times.
I used to own a 10ml sample of this. Now this fragrance is challenging. It's got a very brash, again it's a theme of today, Mancera's got these brash openings. It's got extreme sharpness from spices and tobacco. The tobacco is ashy and punches you in the face.
This is another head toner fragrance. So again it's going to be a tricky fragrance to wear but I think the dry down is the best bit about Red Tobacco again. So you get these spices and tobacco that are very in your face in the opening and then you get this very lovely oud and vanilla combination in the dry down. It's perfect.
The vanilla and the oud combination, really great with some more warmth from the spices. The spices stop being so sharp and food cabinet-like and end up becoming more warm and inviting. This fragrance is a 24-hour duration fragrance. So when I say the dry down, I mean about at least eight hours after you apply, you're going to get that dry down. It's fantastic.
but tricky to wear. Again, I'm going to give this fragrance an 8 out of 10. And finally for the full bottle section, I used to own a full bottle of Oud Vanille, which was a fragrance that was very linear. It is as its name suggests, it's got the oud, accord that they have, and vanilla.
Long lasting, very soft projecting, it's like a soft, easy, inoffensive, sweet fragrance, which I thought was kind of forgettable because it just doesn't have enough character, enough going on. I think it's an okay fragrance. I can't fault it, it smelled smooth but I wouldn't buy it again. I'll give it a 7 out of 10, it's unisex in the middle.
Okay now let's work our way through the samples that I purchased from the website. I'm going to go through the samples I bought from the men's section first and then the oud section later on. I think I may have missed like two fragrances that I couldn't acquire as samples but we got 99% of what Mancera has to offer.
I'm going to read my notes that I made for each fragrance because I said before it's a lot of fragrances to try and remember. And sometimes I'm going to need to respray on this paper strips here to give myself a reminder of what the fragrance is like. But some fragrances are so good, I don't need a reminder.
And some are so bad, I also don't need a reminder. And if I don't mention performance in one of these reviews, guys, it's more safe to presume that fragrance has good performance from Mancera. It's more likely I'm going to highlight when a fragrance has a surprising bad performance from the brand.
Mancera's Black Gold. I don't need to respray this because I've worn this many times before I owned a sample and afterwards as well. This is the fragrance that smells like soapy clean lavender, had a baby with the oud from this brand, then had a baby with a rose petal, and then had a baby with an actual shower.
So it's a fresh, out the shower, clean, versatile rose and oud fragrance. It's sort of like they mixed the Middle Eastern rose and oud with a blue DNA. It is... Sexy, easy to wear, fresh.
I think it's got good performance as well. I think my sample, they may have reformulated it. I kind of was six to eight hours where before I was getting over eight hours. But yeah, it's got decent performance.
And so I think it's one of the best. Best in the brand actually even with that performance. I'm gonna give it a 9 out of 10. Next up we have Fig Ecstasy. If I remember correctly, I didn't like this fragrance.
I think the fig wasn't as prominent as I wanted it to be. Let's remind myself what it smells like. Yeah, so as I said before every single fragrance I've tested on my skin. This is on paper. I think it smells better on paper than on my own skin, but I still don't like it.
Yeah, from what I remember, it's more green than you'd expect and this is more leathery than you'd expect. I actually got fahrenheit vibes from this fragrance i think this is a violet leaf note in here um it's nicer it's more soft and more fig like on paper but it's a little bit underwhelming it's not what the name will suggest in my opinion definitely on the more masculine side and i think this fragrance is opening is still its best bit i think the fig is present more in the opening than later on afterwards i've actually listed it in my notes as a poor man's fahrenheit that is brutal i can't believe i'm so brutal to these fragrances so and I don't like it. I'm giving it a 6 out of 10. Next up we have Black Vanilla by Mancera. Yeah so if I'm remembering correctly, Black Vanilla sort of reminds me of Eau de Vanille but better.
It has more character to it. It's got a very intense sweet opening. I remember it has some nice florals in there. I would say unisex overall. It's a very gorgeous sweet fragrance actually.
I said there was coconut in it but I'm not getting coconut on the paper anymore. I kind of smell the coconut vibes actually yeah no maybe maybe it is there. It's a very beautiful sweet woody floral fragrance that reminds me of Eau de Venis becomes becomes more feminine on the dry down.
I think this would leave more feminine but I think a woman would smell sexy wearing this. I'd give this an 8 out of 10. Coco Venis. Now I believe Mancera is owned by the same people that own Montal.
Montal have a fragrance called Chocolate Greedy which is always hyped by Jeremy. It's this very intense, sweet chocolate, almost like a Kinder Bueno type of fragrance that I didn't like. I feel like Coco Vanille is chocolate greedy but calmed down a bit. There's a more palatable version of that, a more easy to wear gourmand fragrance. Powdery, sweet, cocoa, and it's a little bit more balanced.
It's not overly sweet is what I'm saying. So it's okay. It's not my style. I give it maybe...
It's a nicely done gourmand. I give it a 7 out of 10. Coco Violet, so now we have another cocoa fragrance from Mancera, which for me wasn't really about the chocolate note. I didn't get it that much. I get a bit of it in the opening.
It's more of a floral scent, very feminine. I don't know why it's under the men's section. You'll see this in this buying guide. I feel like a lot of the fragrances that are advertised for men by Mancera should not be there. So this is more of a floral green fragrance.
I don't think I like the green notes. I said they were very strange. Too feminine, performs great, fine, but I'm not a fan. I don't like it. I wouldn't like this for a man or for a woman.
I might give this maybe a five out of 10. Mancera Deep Forest. Definitely need to respray this one. I think I remember this being very old school smelling.
Oh, that's stinky. Oh my God, that's definitely Cvet. They've got some anal glands in this fragrance.
This is very much mature, old school. animalic style. I like that style personally but a lot of people will not like this.
This is very much very ambery but in a very fecal animalic way. Definitely lots of civet in this. And it has a I think I remember it having quite a leathery effect to it as well.
So I might have castoreum, some beaver balls in there. Going to be very much an acquired taste. I'm getting Kuros and Chanel Antaeus vibes in this fragrance. So I think you know It's a cool fragrance, but most people just, yeah, I don't know. It's not the best version of this kind of style, and I don't know.
It's not really Mancera's forte, in my opinion. I give this maybe a 6 out of 10. Next up, we have Black Line. Oh, this is very floral, very Middle Eastern.
This is like the kind of people who like rose and oud fragrances are going to love this. If you like the traditional Middle Eastern approach, you're going to like this. I don't think there's much creativity here. It smells like every other Middle Eastern perfume out there. Yeah, sweet, rose, oud, going to be very long-lasting, going to be very Middle Eastern.
If you want to smell like a Middle Eastern prince, go for this. Seven out of ten. So from my notes, I've told myself this gets very intense and more sweet on the dry down, very much vanilla heavy on the dry down, which I seem to have enjoyed a lot. Unisex right in the middle. Next up, we have Amber Fever.
So this sort of smells like Black Line, that's very Middle Eastern DNA. Sweet, rose, woods, mixed with Instant Crush. It's very creamy and floral.
It has a dense, big sweetness here. Head-turner fragrance, Amber Fever. I think I prefer this to Instant Crush.
I remember this being more smooth. I'm going to say this is maybe an 8 out of 10 still. I think you're going to choose between, if you want a more Western style to this kind of DNA, go for Instant Crush.
If you want more Middle Eastern style, go for Amber Fever. It's very good. 8 out of 10. 8 out of 10 for sure.
Okay, this next one is Oud Exclusif. This is something I don't need to reapply because I wore this fully because as soon as I smelled this, I had to give it a full wearing. This is a very hidden gem fragrance in the brand.
I don't know why. More people do not talk about this. So I remember this fragrance having a very sharp animalic opening but actually done well, not an annoying stinky way of doing things.
And I remember it having a very nice spiciness to it, it had this very prominent saffron note in there which is very beautiful, gorgeous, radiant and then it has a very nicely done oud note there to it as well. It's kind of sharp, spicy and sweet is how I would describe it but overall very balanced. It is a very unique signature that I think you can wear pretty much every season apart from summertime that I think it needs to get more love from us reviewers because it is definitely going under the radar.
Definitely one of the best in the brand. I was very surprised by it and it's got an insane performance. It's got the longevity and the projection. Definitely one of the standouts from the brand. Nine out of ten.
Next up we have Aqua Woods. I was disappointed by this fragrance because it smelled like a mess of an aquatic. That's... I...
kind of got Aqua DGO influences in there but it was then not very masculine. Ended up being overall very feminine fragrance. It had like peach and rose in there.
It's overly synthetic, not a good blend. I think it's got an even worse dry down as well from what I'm reading. So it doesn't really give the name also its namesake properly because it's not very woody. It's mainly an awkward synthetic floral.
aquatic that I would not recommend. I would give maybe a 5 out of 10 at most. Next up is Melody of the Sun.
I remember this having a cool name but overall being a little bit underwhelming on its scent. I think it was quite natural smelling. Smelling this straight away I got this natural citrus effect.
You get this nice tea note in here and it got this nice light mask on the dry down. It really does remind me of like the blue Mediterranean line from Acqua di Parma. and not going to be the best performance from Mancera so it's going to be lower than expected performance from the brand I think you still get six hours from this which is not bad for summertime yeah very photorealistic this is very different to Mancera, Mancera don't usually do photorealism in their fragrances this is very realistic citrus and something you will wear to the beach it smells very elegant um upmarket bang on in the middle unisex six hours longevity not a bad summer option but again it's not going to be a standout fragrance from the brand Seven out of ten.
Next up we have Rose's Vanille. So yeah, this reminds me of Oud Vanille But it doesn't have that it has a slight hint of rose in here It has that Middle Eastern style once again, and that you kind of got from Amber Fever. Yeah, it's a lot of Middle Eastern style And it's long-lasting Again similar to Oud Vanille, it's a little bit overly simplistic. It's a little bit too sweet. They have sugar notes in here Which is weird.
They have in Fragrance again, they have like a double sugar note in there. So they got they went to two sugar cubes in there which is weird because I feel like it's kind of takes away the balance of the fragrance. This is kind of overly sweet. Maybe a girl could smell sexy wearing this but I don't recommend it.
Let me take another sniff. It's nicely blended but I wouldn't recommend it. It's okay in my opinion. 7 out of 10. I think a common theme you'll see in this video is I think Mancera have released way too many fragrances that are redundant because they overlap with others.
way too much. So I would actually recommend to Mancera to bring their numbers down. It's overwhelming for us consumers. Now we have Royal Vanilla, which I've written down as the fragrance I really liked in my notes.
So let's see if I still like it. Yeah, this is the nicest vanilla fragrance in the brand, in my opinion. It has a very beautiful balance of sweetness.
It's got not just vanilla, but it's also got amber notes as well as patchouli. So it's got a nuanced character, long lasting, gorgeous. blend of perfumery here.
This is their best vanilla fragrance. Fantastic cold weather signature, I would say, for both men and women. And I'm going to give it a 9 out of 10. Saharian Wild. I gave this a full wearing because this is another standout from the brand.
Let's give it another spritz. Let's remind myself of the scent. So yeah, this is sort of like a fresher take on Issey Miyake's Noir Ambre. This reminds me of it straight away. It's very similar style of very...
Sweet amber notes, it's an ambery fragrance that's got a lot of beautiful spices, leather and incense vibe in there. It's sort of like a Middle Eastern. Sexy seductive nighttime fragrance done in the best way possible. Fantastic performance. This is like the fragrance where people get annoyed by Dolce Gabbana the one being too poor performing.
You want a longer lasting amber fragrance. This is it. This is complex, sweet, sexy. It's incredible.
I think this is more of a man's fragrance and I think it's easily one of the best in the brand. Again I'm going to give it a 9 out of 10. It's not an exact clone of Issey Miyake's Noir Ambre but If you are going to consider buying one or the other, just go for one. I don't think you need to own both. Mancera Sicily.
Again, I'm getting Aqua de Palma vibes from here. This is a realistic citrus. More like, I think, is it like a mandarin or grapefruit I'm getting here?
This is more like a gourmand citrus. A bit sweeter, juicy. It's kind of the kind of citrus notes that makes your mouth salivate. It also has a nice peach and pineapple combination.
So it's sort of got this like fruit cocktail. So I've written here it's Mandarin. So I think that is the citrus here.
It's a Mandarin note with a nice fruit cocktail effect. Again, Aqua de Parma vibes. Six hours, white floral and musky dry down.
Unisex, slightly to the feminine side leaning. Sicily, I'm going to give this maybe a 7 out of 10. Again, nicely done, but I don't know. It doesn't really do much for me. Okay, guys, this is like fragrance number 20 now.
I think I'm getting high off the fumes. So we got Mancera Silver Blue. I've given this a full wearing.
I don't know why I'm re-spraying this. This is not silver or blue. That name suggests a blue, fresh out of the shower metallic scent, which this is not. This is a sweet woody amber fragrance.
This is sort of like people who want Saharian winds DNA, but take away the spices. It's a more simple amber scent. Yeah, it's sort of got all this freshness to it.
I wouldn't describe it as blue, but it's got a fresh opening, fresh citruses in the opening. I think maybe that's their blue approach with a nice chunk of amber and woods simple doesn't transform a lot on the dry down it's got great performance and i think this is a great casual signature i don't really think this is much of an office scent sort of like okay let's say it's it's like armani code absolute if you want a loud sweet but also clean fragrance to wear then the same applications you use Code Absolumin, you'd use Silver Blue in as well. I think it's a really good fragrance from them.
Not as the name suggests, but I'm still gonna give this an 8 out of 10. Okay, Wild Cherry. I remember this being horrendous. Actually, is it, was this horrendous? No, there's something else.
I think Wild Leather was terrible. One sec, we'll get to that fragrance in a second. Okay, so it has sort of like this Tom Ford's Lost Cherry opening. It's got a smoky, sharp cherry.
I think I remember this fragrance being very awkward because the opening smells masculine, the dry down is very sweet and powdery. I think it has almond in here. It smells really feminine, so it's a bit of a mess of a fragrance actually.
I think it's good for them for trying to be creative with the cherry notes, but I don't think they do as well. I'm gonna give this a 5 out of 10. I don't like this. Yeah, in my notes I'm reading it now, I think I said the smokiness smells like it's coming from like a leather or incense note, and I said, Feels clumsy. So yeah, I think this is a clumsy fragrance.
Okay, now we have Wild Leather. So I think I'm going to be giving this one some hate now in a second. Really weird fragrance. This is horrible.
It's not even challenging in like a good way. It's just a really bad smelling fragrance. A very disgusting, almost vinegar-like, animalic note in the opening.
And that opening just stays there for too long. I really think it's unpalatable. Yeah, I've written here, the opening is bad, overbearing leather with a medicinal incense stick feel.
I think that's perfectly how I would describe it. It sort of feels like you're going to be wearing an incense stick. It feels like somebody should bring a match to your skin and light you up because it's that sort of effect.
I've said here after 10 minutes becomes much better. Okay, so a mossy leather fragrance. Okay, so maybe this has like oak moss or something or like I think it has patchouli in there as well.
The nice touch of sweetness will not be everyone's cup of tea. Definitely more masculine than feminine. Overall awkward and smells slightly outdated. I'll be honest, I don't remember the dry down of this fragrance perfectly, but I do recall not liking it. I think it's going to be an awkward fragrance for either a man or a woman to wear.
I think it's going to be one of the least liked offerings from the brand. I'm going to give this a 4 out of 10 because it's just not ticking any of the right boxes. Next up we're trying Hindu Kush.
I remember being disappointed by this one. I thought it'd be really interesting just from the name I love the opening the opening is sort of like this sweet weed. It's that good bud It sort of reminds me of black afghan.
It's very sweet intense smoky weed. Yeah, I've said in my notes great opening terrible dry down It's yeah, amber-y incense oriental very sweet but then it has this weird vegetal green-ness to it in the dry down with some sweetness. So it's an awkward green sweet dry down, annoyingly sharp and poorly blended.
Wow I'm harsh to this fragrance. This fragrance is okay. I'll give it a 6 out of 10. So now we have Jasmine Exclusive.
I think this fragrance ended up being nicer than I expected it to be. Oh yeah such a gorgeous, I remember saying it's a fruit cocktail opening. It smells like Coconut, peach and pineapple.
I think this is what the fragrance had. It's very very nice. It's a beautiful little cocktail, tropical summertime holiday vibe. Yes, definitely aquatic slash ozonic, clean musk. I think I...
so in the paper strip I don't think it's very feminine, but I said in my notes it smells more feminine. Yeah, I can kind of see it. You know what?
I think it's apple. I think apple is the main note of this. It kind of reminds me of light blue intense for women.
getting those kind of vibes. It's a sexy scent that I would say women should wear. I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Jasmine Exclusive.
I don't even want to spray this again because I don't want my room to stink of it. I remember this being the worst fragrance by far in the entire brand. Let's see what I wrote in my notes.
I said awful opening, too much fecal civet, trying to be an animalic oud note, smoky sweet, not what I expected from the name. Jasmine plays a supporting role so it's horrible. poorly blended it's not really even a jasmine fragrance it's more like a stinky animalic oud scent and it's not beautiful i don't think any gender should wear this i'm not sure what gender could wear this um i think it's one of the worst from the brand easily just two out of ten that's it two out of ten mancera's kumkat wood now this fragrance i had to give a full wearing now we're going the opposite end of the spectrum and this one i'm gonna give a respray because i enjoy it wow What a nice summer scent.
I did not see it on Fragrantica. I don't know why no one else has compared this to Allure Edition Blanche by Chanel. This was a great find in the brand because Allure Edition Blanche, a lot of people complain about the performance.
This smells to me like a grapefruit version of Allure Blanche. So Allure Edition Blanche is sort of compared as this creamy lemon meringue citrus fragrance that doesn't have the best performance but it's very natural smelling. This is impressive by Mancera because it's still very natural smelling. It's got a great grapefruit note but still having this very nice woody dry down. It's more woody but still creamy compared to Edition Blanche.
So I got eight hours with this. This is fantastic perfumery, great blend, very similar. It's got a similar style to Edition Blanche but it's grapefruit instead of lemon.
I think this is one of the sexiest summer fragrances a man can wear. Really hidden gem in this brand. I don't know why no one else talks about this scent. Really great fragrance. I love this on my skin and I love this on paper.
9 out of 10. Mancera's Lemon Line. So I remember thinking to myself, this smells like oud lemon mint, but with less character. They've taken the candied effect out of that and just made it very lemony, woody fragrance.
I get very much cleaning detergent vibes from this. Yeah, so very sharp. clean.
It smells like an incomplete fragrance honestly. It's too simplistic. It feels like it should have had more added to it. I don't think it's simplistic in a nice way, it just smells incomplete and plain in my opinion.
So I've said it's got good performance, nothing special and it's still synthetic. Maybe this is Oud Lemon Mint without character? There we are. I would give this a 6 out of 10. Mancera's Wild Wood.
This I remember having quite a nice blend but I don't think most people will enjoy this. It's a green notes fragrance mixed with leather. So it's a green leather fragrance that smells extremely mature.
I think only men in their 40s and above will be able to rock it. It's got an acquired taste and it's got limited wearability. Overall, I give this fragrance a 6 out of 10. Oh yeah, Oud Black Candy. Now I don't need to re-spray this.
I remember this fragrance. It was quite interesting. It's got basically black candy.
You're going to think of what I thought before I sprayed it was going to be licorice and I was right. It's very much a black licorice opening initially. Overall being quite a simple scent. So it's licorice mixed with amber and a bit of woods.
I mean it's got an interesting concept but it doesn't smell that great. I think most people don't really like the smell of licorice honestly and it just doesn't really blow you away on the dry down either. It's very simple, too simple in my opinion and the performance is okay. One of the weaker offerings from the brand.
5 out of 10. Oud Blue Notes. I think I remember this not smelling blue. I think I remember this being very weird actually. So very soapy sweet florals. I said this is an interesting signature for an overall casual sweet scent.
I said it smells like the original Paccaraband 1 Million in the opening with blue freshness added in. predominantly of Tonka and leather fragrance. So that's why I thought this fragrance was underwhelming. It smells like a generic designer fragrance in my opinion that transforms a bit more compared to most designer scents.
So overall it's again simplistic Tonka leather. Yeah, I'm yeah definitely bubble gummy in the opening like 1 million. Again very forgettable in the brand. 6 out of 10. Mancera's Oud Café.
Now this is a great fragrance. I have tried Intense Cafe by Montal, their sister brand, which I thought was too feminine. I think this is more suitable for a man.
It smells like a black, let's say, or let's say like a shot of espresso. It smells like an espresso and someone's taken a teaspoon of sugar and lumped it in. So it's got a very masculine black coffee effect to it with some nice well done sweetness. That's not overly bearing at all. So I said this is a great masculine choice for those who enjoy coffee.
Smells like an espresso with sugar added in it. Great woody vanilla dry down. And the dry down is very sexy as well. More on the, yeah as I said, woody side of things rather than coffee. So it goes, it's simple but goes down very nicely.
Everything goes together really well. An interesting gourmand. I'm giving this an 8 out of 10. I'll say it's more of a masculine fragrance to wear in the cold weather.
Now we have Oud Lijn by Mancera. So this sort of is like the dry down of Oud Lemon Mint straight away. It feels like a very animalic Oud Lemon Mint. Where Lemon Line was then taking away the candied effect of that fragrance, this feels like they've taken away the citrus. It's just animalic notes and woods.
I think, again, it's very simplistic and an acquired taste. It's a little bit rough in the opening. Some people won't like how overly animalic this is.
It's long lasting, simplistic, linear. I think it's going to suffer compared to Oud Lemon Mint. I'm going to give this a 6 out of 10. It needs more to be going on here. Gold Intensitive Oud. That's a weird word, intensitive.
I really don't like it. I don't know why. Clean, soapy, traditional rose and oud combination. It's done well, but it's not going to stand out from all the other rose and oud offerings that most brands have nowadays. Leans a tiny bit feminine on the dry down, I remember, but it seems to have really good performance.
It's solid, I mean. I'm between seven or eight. Maybe I'm gonna give this a seven out of ten because you've smelled this DNA so many times before.
Mancera's Precious Oud. Now this is a standout fragrance. Oh my god. This is a gourmand style of perfumery done correctly.
I think the notes are whiskey mixed with tiramisu and this is so sexy and still really smells masculine. It works really well on the man. I remember the opening of this being phenomenal, very gourmand-like and then becoming more vanilla sweet woods on the dry down, very masculine and handsome, very musky as well. Fantastic performance, this is like, I think this is a very sexy fairing to wear both on dates and for clubbing. It's got great longevity but it's got a medium amount of projection so it can work in either environment really well.
This is really unique, this is sort of like people who want a replacement for CH Men Preve that got discontinued, you want a more gourmand version of that, a gourmand boozy scent. This is really stand out. It's going to make people remember you.
This is unique, really done well in the brand, perfectly balanced gourmand scent. Gourmand is going to be really annoying for how too sweet they can be. I really love this.
This is a nine out of 10 easy for me. Mancera's Sand Oud. This is going to be an acquired taste because it does have an earthy effect to it.
The sand name is correct. It's got this... It's this hazy sand effect to it from the spices.
It's a spicy oud scent with a tad of sweetness in there. I think it's a sexy masculine signature you can go for. Maybe don't wear this in the summertime, but it's definitely one of the better in the brand.
More on the masculine side leaning, definitely. I think it has great performance as well. Really interesting scent.
Definitely a try before you buy it to see if you like that earthy effect. 8 out of 10. Wild Rose Oud. Even without looking in my notes, I remember this being awful. So it's a very soapy rose scent. It's not really oud at all and it's very feminine and even for women I wouldn't really like them to smell like this.
Maybe in like the office it's a little bit clean and inoffensive but I think it's still quite synthetic. It's got a great performance. Yeah I said in my notes this should not be listed for men. Women might like this as it's a long lasting clean floral. So for women I'd maybe give this a 7 out of 10. Only for women.
Avoid this one men. Mancera Holidays. I think this is going to be another feminine fragrance from what I remember. Oh yeah, Coconut Suntown Lotion straight away. I think it has a quite a clean, simplistic...
White floral musk dry down becoming even more feminine. So yeah, the coconut notes I love. I think for a woman, this is really sexy. Long lasting summer fragrance for women. So if we avoid the whole controversy that this is a very feminine fragrance listed as being suitable for men, we can ignore that.
I still give this a nine out of 10. I think on a woman, this would be really, really sexy. Oud orchids. I think this was very feminine as well.
Sort of like a very feminine. honeyed, overly sweet floral scent. It smells like something YSL would release in a designer department store. I think the opening is nice but I've written down I wouldn't recommend this for either gender. I think this could be okay for a woman who doesn't mind a generic fragrance but it doesn't gonna, it's not gonna stand out from the Mancera's brand in my opinion.
I'm gonna give this a 7 out of 10 for women. Mancera's Oud Violet. Now this one really surprised me. Yeah, I gave this one a full wearing. It is Nothing like the name suggests.
I think maybe fine it might have a violet note in there but it's more of a... So it's a floral fragrance but it's not feminine. I think this is a masculine fragrance.
It smells aquatic. It smells like spicy aquatic florals. It's very clean fresh out of the shower. And it sort of has this hazy effect, very strange nature to it from the spices. I think for guys who want a more niche version of fragrances like Acqua di Gio or...
Polo Ralph Lauren Blue. You will love things like this. This is really sexy and really surprised me just based on this name alone. On my skin, I've got at least eight hours.
So this is a sexy blue fragrance from the brand Oud Violet. Don't underestimate this one. It's creative, but still easy to love.
Long lasting. It doesn't smell overly synthetic at all. It's really underrated again from this brand.
No one else seems to be talking about this fragrance from what I can tell. I've never ran into this fragrance before. 9 out of 10, one of the best. Mancera's Black Intensitive Oud. I recall not liking this.
Yeah, very weird, clumsy blend that smells very feminine, lots of florals, soapy, not much of an oud fragrance either. It smells like very old-school smelling as well. I don't recommend this for either gender, although it's more feminine-leaning. I'm going to give this a 4 out of 10. Mancera's Crazy for Oud. Now this is very strange.
I'm not sure, has Mancera given me the wrong fragrance in this sample? Because if I look at the fragrance notes, I am not getting anything that they're describing at all. I'm not getting this Tiramisu.
I feel like those are the notes for Precious Oud and they've accidentally put in there for Crazy Fruit as well. I may have gotten the wrong fragrance, but this is just pure animalic Oud. This is sort of like Mancera wants to recreate a realistic barnyard Oud fragrance in their brand. a lot of castoreum here so this is going to smell like beaver balls to a lot of people animalic woody leather very masculine very simple very polarizing if i've got the correct fragrance in my sample here i'm going to give this a 5 out of 10. it's cool they're trying to recreate that barnyard smell but it's not nice and i wouldn't recommend it for either gender and the last fragrance on this buying guide is gold oud by mensera Now this is a standout fragrance in the brand because they're using a natural ingredient called Bulgarian Rose Otto, which is one of the most expensive forms of rose oil that a perfumer can get his hands on.
It has a very rich complexity to it. It's very natural smelling, very honey. This smells like a honey, rose and oud fragrance overall. More feminine, leany, but extremely well blended. If you want to try out natural perfumery from the brand of Mancera, this is a good offering.
I will say this is really sexy, clean, easy to wear signature for women most of the year round. I'm going to give this a 9 out of 10. And to finish up the video, I'm going to give you guys my top 10 of Mancera. My top 10 from Mancera are as follows. Number 10, Royal Vanilla, being the best vanilla fragrance in the brand with great complexity. Number 9, Sand Oud, giving you a unique signature with an earthy effect.
Number 8 is Oud Lemon Mint. The harsh opening can be a deal breaker for some, but this is a beast mode. great summertime fragrance.
Number seven is Oud Exclusive Abyss Mode, simplistic, great Oud signature. Number six, Black Gold, versatile, safe to wear but still unique signature to wear most of the year round. Number five, C'est Drapois des Intents, a more traditional signature that lasts a really long time.
Number four, Precious Oud, a fantastic gourmand fragrance that can work for most men. Number three, Oud Violet, a very sexy, well-balanced blue, fresh out the shower, aquatic scent. Number two Saharian Wild does amber spices sexy nighttime wear perfectly. Number one Kumkat Wood because we finally have a longer lasting alternative to Allure Edition Blanche.
So what are my final thoughts on Mancera as a brand in general? I have two main gripes with them. First of all they produce way too many fragrances they need to consolidate them down to at least half I would say and second of all they offer fragrances to men that they shouldn't because they smell too f- feminine. I think they need to sort that out and look at some feedback that people have given on Fragrantica.
Some of these fragrances are obviously leaning very feminine but still being marketed as unisex or for men. Mancera can be hit or miss but they do produce some fantastic scents and they still give you great performance. Overall, I'm giving the brand a 7 out of 10. What do you guys think of this guide?
I'll remind you again that I'm leaving my little diary of all the notes I've made for each fragrance down in the description below and I'm gonna be adding some timestamps as well to each of them so you guys can jump between this guide very easily.
