today I will be explaining more about the list of on campus opportunities at Northeastern University hey everyone what's up yo welcome back to my channel this is if you haven't seen me before I will give you a little bit background about myself I am jandu kongar I'm currently pursuing my masters in Information Systems from Northeastern University I have a 2 years experience in India as a software engineer at EXA Services also so I'm currently on my Co-op at Vex Pharmaceuticals as a computer science Co-op so yeah today I will be explaining more about the list of on campus opportunities at nor Eastern University whenever you land in Boston you need to reach out to these people or way back in India I will provide some links in the description so that you can reach out to them using your Outlook mail that is been provided by the Northeastern University previously I made a video on my on Campus Life at nor Eastern University and it was a huge success thanks to all of you who supported it I got a lot of responses from the people that are the students in India and they are messaging me regarding how to get an on campus opportunity at Northeastern so I guided them a little bit but yeah I didn't guide them as expected but now I'm making a video on that like the list of on campus opportunities so that they can reach out to these people these kind of people using their Outlook mail and after they land here they can reach in person as well so yeah today I will be making more uh a list kind of thing and I explain where is the location situated of that on campus opportunity and whom to reach out whether if you are in a situation where you are not getting an on campus job Etc I will tell you how I landed on campus job opportunity way back in India itself I applied to a position called Rea scattering which was posted by a senior who was studying at North Eastern University he posted that on LinkedIn and he posted a email also I will leave that in the description so that you can also reach out to that person and apply for the position it's a it was a catering job it the pay for it was like $19 per hour my first semester I did that part time which was around 9 $1 per hour and I earned somewhat around $2 to $3,000 which helped me pay off some of my fees and the living expenses so it's extra earning that you can gain here in my second semester I applied for RSO and successfully got that job it was a kind of a lucky thing to get two on campus jobs and but the limitation is that you can only work for 20 hours per week and during the holiday time you can work 40 hours per week so it was was very helpful for me to pay off my living expenses using RSO and I could save a lot of money using RSO and the Third on campus opportunity that I got was a TA opportunity under a professor called Yen which uh the subject that she taught was uh applied machine learning in finance and the pay for it was around $.69 which used to be a kind of learning kind of thing for me as well as the students so that it could help me grow individually and I can put that on in my resume so yeah now I will talk more about the list of on campus opportunities so you people will be waiting for the list of opportunities that are present at the North Eastern University so I will start with the first one that is the RSO RSO is the biggest on campus opportunity available till date because it hires more than th000 students per cycle so it's a very good on campus opportunity and the pay is around $15 per hour and in the daytime and in the night time it's around $18 per hour and in that uh you can do your own work as I explained in my previous video the link in the descript the link is in the description as I I am a RS supervisor that's the second level of that RSO proctoring job RSO in RSO you need to compulsorily be attentive and do your own work you can do all of your own work like you can study in that time you can watch movies along with that RSO office is located at spear Hall as I described in my previous video um you can't reach out to someone for applying for an RSO job because it's a kind of a lottery kind of thing you need to apply it online don't apply don't apply it like for the to LS that are present on the workday portal only apply for only apply from the form that has been given that's a Google form if you apply from that most probably you will get one if you are not getting one please try to apply it for the next [Music] cycle the second on campus opportunity that I will be talking about is the RSO supervisor RSO supervisor is just the next level of the RSO proctoring job you need to give interviews based on the RSO proctoring and there will be a separate manual for the RSO supervising you need to revise all of that and then give two interviews the pay for RSO supervisor is around $18 in $20 in the daytime and $23 in the night time so yeah this is a promotion for the RSO Proctor so so you can't apply it from anywhere outside of the workday vortal or anything else it's for the Proctors that are continuing and are satisfying a criteria of around 150 hours and they have no documentation in their name the only scene is that you need to be a current Proctor if you are hired by hired by the RSO as a proctor then only you can give then only you will receive a link from RSO for the supervising position that they are open the Third on campus job that I will be talking about is the Husky Card Services husky Card Services is located in the spear Hall it's just beside the Huntington app at the entry itself uh the husy card services is present the RO responsibilities of the husy card Front Desk assistant is that you need to click photo of the uh student that that is coming and you need to print a husky card for them it's a very good job it's a very pretty it's a very chill job uh the timing from the timing for Husky Guard Services is from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. you need to reach that you need to reach in person there and ask for whether there there are any on campus opportunities available at your department so I will leave give a mail ID you can reach out to them asking for jobs as [Music] well rest Mill services is located at Marino Center you can find it at the ground floor of the Marino Center at the end near to the spear Hall the rest Mill services responsibilities is that they collect deliveries from for the residents that stay at on campus stay on campus rest mail you can reach out to rest mail person rest mail services in person or you can reach out via mail that I will leave in the description I will leave I will leave all the emails that are associated to on campus job opportunities at the bottom in the description you can use that and reach out to them the next on campus opportunity that I will be talking about is the University recreation University recreation is just like RSO they give a lot of opportunities uh if you are a fitness Enthusiast then it will be very beneficial for you as you will apply on workday along with that you can reach in person to Bradley cook that is who is present at uh squash Busters that is another area just like Marino that's a smaller Chim of Northeastern University if you want to uh apply for this position these positions will be available on workday and along with that there will be a person supervisor mentioned in the workday portal you need to contact them along with that uh University recreation has also a position called intramurals intramurals is nothing but they are the refes for any sports game that happen in North Eastern University so several teams register for that in on of all departments combined like you all friends combining and getting into one team and they register for that and there will be lot of games like Cricket football foodball uh EA Sports Etc you can be an intramural official if you are applying on work day and reach out and my specific uh recommendation is that suggestion is that I you need to reach out to a person that is present at the workday portal a supervisor that is mention at the workday portal you need to definitely reach out to them so that it will give an edge to you from the other students that you are really interested in that position and prepare a uh personalized cover letter for each job when you are applying there are several office assistant position available at Northeastern University there are several opportunities at Cy College there are several opportunities at Law College along with that uh there are several opportunities at Egan Research Center which is available and you can go to Dana Research Center as well there are Coe faculty sitting at the fifth floor you need to go in person there and ask for any on campus opportunities uh along with that there are several office assistant present at RSO as well so these are all the office assistant position there are several position located all over the campus you need to reach out in person as well as you you will get the mails below I will mention that the next position that I will be talking about is the snail ideas proor position it's basically you need to apply it from the online workday portal that you will be given access I heard from the students coming this fall that they will be given access 2 weeks prior to the start date so it's kind of restrictions for now for you all but you can apply in that period And I will be giving the mails as well so you need to reach out via mails if you can't apply through the workday portal the snail engineering ideas Proctor is that you need to to tap their husy card to the they will the student will tap their husy card to the card reader and you need to monitor through the monitor screen that is present in front of you so it is kind of a chill [Music] job the next part time I will be talking about is about the wallaston Duncan uh Subway and the tatus that is present at at all around the northeastern campus uh it's kind of tedious task it's I won't recommend this kind of part time because uh it's like a physical labor kind of job you need to continuously work and your body will get exhausted at the end of the part time but if you need your SSN early you need to go in person to these restaurants so that you can ask for part-time whether there there are any on campus opportunities in that department uh because uh a lot of students work here it's kind of Coalition with their studies along with that they get exhausted too much and they get a lot of stress while working because it's kind of walking here and there and supplying food so it is kind of a hectic job I won't recommend but yeah if you need SN early you need to apply for that as well I will be talking about the be good restaurant bwood is also a restaurant that is present at north northeastern campus Marino Center that is the CH of the Northeastern University you can reach there in [Music] person now I will be talking about the teaching assistant positions that are available on campus if you are if you have having experience of more than like 3 to 4 years then you can apply for a TA job way back from India and by reaching out to a lot of professors you will not get replies from half of them but if you get a reply then you are a lucky candidate and I am studying in Mis that is Information Systems it's a part of Coe that is a College of Engineering in that you need to complete your two semesters and after that you can apply for the TA job that is present so it's basically if you are studying under a professor and you get a good grade that is in a grade or a a minus grade you will have an upper hand to apply for the position and get that position so also it's a kind of luck because you will be competing with a lot of student that get an A grade or an A minus grade and the next thing is that and the pay for the ta ta is that it's 1869 and there is also an instructional assistant position it's a position for the live cast stream gaming platforms because the professors are some some of the professors are not here in person they will be using Live cast so you need to set up the system at the start of the lecture the higher for the higher position you need to reach out to Kimberly qus so I will be leaving the the her mail in the description you need to reach out to her this she will be the one allocating for the IIA positions and the next thing is about the ra positions ra is nothing but the research assistant research assistant is basically for the PhD students but if you are having experience in the field that you are working and if you are a master student you need to reach out to a lot of people like the professors you need to work under a professor ra is quite higher I don't know about the ra ra is literally around $25 to $30 per hour so it is a quite uh very good paying job and and based on that you will have something to add on your resum as [Music] well another on campus opportunity is the resident assistant the job responsibility of Resident assistant is to assist the residents who are locked out of their rooms they need to assist them to their rooms and the benefits of resid assistant is that you will get a free accommodation on campus you don't have to pay any rent you will get free food at the cafeteria you will have meals vipes for that the it is a very good job it is a very chill job as well you need to work according to your time schedule and you can manage your schedule like the studies and the job along with that [Music] there is a third party Association that is present in North Eastern University that is the any student temps you need to reach out to them and submit your resume they will take a quick 2 to 3 Minutes interview of you and have have your mail in their system so that whenever an on campus opportunity opens they will apply your SMA and you will get a call from that a new student temp is located in the Richards Hall and if you can reach out reach out to them in person it's way better and along with that there is ogs and the student employment office present at the Richards Hall it's present in the room number 375 and 351 something in the ogs there are friend desk assistants present you need to reach out to them in person and ask for any opportunities at the department and the student employment Services has a lot of uh different roles like the employment verification officer and the Student Financial Services officer so it's they are also a front desk assistant so they verify all of your documents and the employment letter along with that they will provide you employment letter after your SSN after you apply for the employment letter online [Music] there are several front desk assistant position available uh near the Cabot cage in the Cabot cage at the end itself you can reach out to a lot of uh students working there you can reach out to them and ask about the opportunity whether they are available or not and you can basically ask them for their supervisor number or their email so that they can give it to you and you can reach reach out to them there is a program assistant position as well which is located in the Dana Research Center you need to reach out to Kimberly quarters for that you will for t r uh sorry for t uh IAS and the program assistant position you need to reach out to gimber CZ she will be the one who will help you and for the TA position you need to reach out to specific Professor that you have studied already it will be Edge from the other students so that's all
