Spawning

  • Drifters spawn in empty or tall grass blocks with light level 7 or below.
  • Surface drifters spawn within a 25 block radius of a temporal rift.
  • Spawning is limited by Y level, with more dangerous drifters spawning deeper.
  • Double-headed drifters spawn during temporal storms.

Drops

  • Upon death, drifters can be harvested for:
    • Flax fibers
    • Rusty gears
    • Temporal gears
  • Drop rates vary by drifter type.

  • Surface Drifter: Health 12, Attack 2.5, Tier 0, Drops: Flax (20%), Temporal Gear (2.66%), Rusty Gear (1%).
  • Deep Drifter: Health 16, Attack 4, Tier 1, Drops: Flax (40%), Temporal Gear (3.33%), Rusty Gear (3%).
  • Tainted Drifter: Health 22, Attack 8, Tier 2, Drops: Flax (60%), Temporal Gear (4%), Rusty Gear (7%).
  • Corrupt Drifter: Health 30, Attack 12, Tier 3, Drops: Flax (80%), Temporal Gear (4.66%), Rusty Gear (10%).
  • Nightmare Drifter: Health 40, Attack 20, Tier 4, Drops: Flax (100%), Temporal Gear (5.33%), Rusty Gear (20%).
  • Double-headed Drifter: Health 54, Attack 24, Tier 4, Drops: Rusty Gear (500% - 250%), Flax (200%), Temporal Gear (100% - 40%).

Behavior

  • Drifters pursue players within 20 blocks.

Attacking

  • Melee: Swipe with arms, cooldown 0.5s - 1.75s.
  • Rock Throwing: If can't reach player, throw rocks every 1-10s; deals 1 damage.

Fleeing

  • Drifters may flee in sunlight or upon receiving damage.
  • Light Level Required to Flee:
    • Surface: 0.925
    • Deep: 0.97
    • Tainted, Corrupt, Nightmare, Double-headed: 2
  • Chance of Fleeing Upon Damage:
    • Surface: 15%
    • Deep: 7%
    • Tainted: 3%
    • Corrupt: 1.5%
    • Nightmare: 1%
    • Double-headed: 1%
