I'm gonna let you in on a little secret did you know that you could be making three five even $10,000 a month using online typing skills yes they're totally legit and I'm going to show you in this video exactly where to find [Music] them I'm Abby Ashley founder of the virtual Savvy and it is my passion to help people find work from home opportunities I was able to replace my own income and my to be notified every time I release these work from home videos when I tell people that I started making two three even $5,000 a month working from home with my typing skills there's sometimes a little bit of disbelief because I think sometimes we think that we have to have a lot of advanced skills to be making that kind of money working from home and let's be honest we've all seen those really scammy type job out there where it's like make a million dollars from your phone and we all know that that's not legit the thing is in order to make real money working from home you have to be showing a real value that somebody wants in exchange for money right I mean that is how business works and so when you see things online like take these surveys right sure it took you 10 minutes to F out a survey but how much value is that really to the person on the other end about 15 cents worth which is how much you're going to get from taking an online survey these aren't scary scalable models for how to really make money working from home I remember being a new mom and thinking man I wish I could use the skills that I already had to make money working while I was taking care of my kids right yes my number one attention was them but I knew that I had some experience right I had been in an administrative role and a little bit of a marketing role in my past jobs and even though they were lower level positions I still had those skills right and I knew man there has to be a way to make make money with this I was talking to a friend one day about the typing and admin and general data entry skills that I had and she said hey have you thought about being a virtual assistant I had no idea what a virtual assistant even was but as I started looking into it a light bulb went off and I thought maybe I could really do this I started calling myself a virtual assistant the very next day I told my friends and family about my new Endeavor I went to some local networking meetings so I could meet with business owners and again you have to think your typing skills are not just your typing skills right the ability for you to work on a computer and take General admin tasks off of a small business owner plate could actually be exchanged for real value and that's where the money comes in so let's talk about 15 typing jobs that you can do entirely from home the first five are databased jobs right with number one being data entry this was actually one of my very first jobs I had a massage therapist who handed me a big box of business cards and said I need you to type all of this into a spreadsheet there are now apps where you can do this but there wasn't at the time right and so I was able to literally just take that information and put it into a spreadsheet for her and this was one of my very first jobs another way you can use your data entry skills is with video transcription right yes there are some apps and tools that you can help with this but again they're not always 100% correct for instance what we do with these YouTube videos that I'm creating right now is I have somebody that watches the video and then she will literally like do a synopsis of the video inside of the description so an actual human wrote the description that's underneath that right it was an online typing skill then we will take this video and we will actually turn it into a Blog on our website you can check out our Blog the virtual Savvy and yes maybe we use some AI tools to do those but still a human actually had to go through and physically write them so taking video transcription and really turning that video into you know the description or into a podcast is a really really valuable skill and something that small business owners especially those that are on YouTube really need number three captioning and you're going to see a trend with this yes there are tools out there that will caption right there's something that's going to caption right now what I'm saying on this video there's incredible tools out there never are they 100% correct right and so even though you may not be typing word for word you can go through and you can read and edit and actually fix the captions that are autop populated on videos like this number four database management and this is taking your typing skills and putting them into something a little bit more like an Excel or a Google Document or air table but again these are really really valuable tools and a lot of times it is simply data entry we have all of this information that a business owner has maybe it's customer service orders or invoices or you know social media whatever it may be and then they need to actually put that into some sort of database this is why learning a tool even like air table could be really really helpful and valuable to a small business owner number five Market research data collection so I know as a business owner we are constantly surveying our audience asking them questions and what we do is we take that information and we will actually compile it into reports right so actually typing out those surveys or typing out the survey responses and compiling into Data reports is a super valuable skill all right let's move into content creation jobs copy typing is a typing job that you can do where you're literally taking information and putting it into the computer right and so again this was one of the very first jobs that I had as a business owner is that I had a woman who had a plant store right and she handed me a bunch of scanned documents but I actually had to take that and transcribe it into an online format and so yes it is a little bit of tedious work but taking that information that's in either handwritten or a scan document and actually digitizing it is a really really valuable skill that you can use your typing abilities to do number seven blog writing oh my goodness I absolutely love blog writing this was one of the very first services that I realized that I was passionate about and where I talk about yes you can earn you know 20 $30 an hour doing these typing jobs if you actually learn how to write really good copy whether that's for emails or blogs you can definitely raise your rates over time as well as a Blog writer I eventually rais my rates to 60 even $75 an hour number eight social media content creation now you may not be the person that actually loves making the content right if you are more administrative maybe you don't really like actually creating the graphics or the videos right but if you notice on social media whether it is LinkedIn or Instagram or Facebook there is some kind of copy that goes along with every single post or video right and so again using those creative copyrighting skills you can be the person that is actually taking that information and writing captions for social media posts number nine ebook typing Okay so helping small business owners create their ebooks is definitely a valuable resource right they may have all of this information either in a video or in blog posts or in their head right they're putting on a video recorder and then you are able to actually put that into a legible format for them into some kind of a freeb a PDF an ebook which leads us to number 10 which would be ghost writing right and this is basically taking that ebook writing abilities to a whole another level where you are actually compiling a book for them right I have a friend who does this and charges $10,000 per book she is taking these experts she's doing video interviews with them she's asking them the questions and she is compiling their information into an actual book that is written by them right she's just simply the ghost riter all right check-in time what do you think of these different typing jobs so far are there any of them that you're like I think I could do this today let me know in the comments even if you couldn't do one of these today do you think with a little bit of training and practice you could learn them are they valuable to a small business owner by the end of this video I want you to have at least one skill that you think man I could do this all right let's move into the last set of typing jobs and these would be specialist typing jobs number 11 is podcast transcription right whether it is just transcribing a podcast or taking a transcription from a service like rev or Tim and actually turning that into legible show notes or turning a podcast into a blog post is a really really valuable skill and you already know who your ideal client is someone who has a podcast number 12 is webinar assistants I know that personally in my business we hold webinars every couple of months and when we do I need somebody in the chat of my webinar actually responding to comments and engaging the audience number 13 responding to customer service emails this may be my very favorite one because almost every small business owner needs this task so literally if this was one of the only services on your list you could likely find clients for it because we all get emails right we get those questions from our clients or potential clients and we need someone to actually go in and manage our inbox so if that's something that you think you could do you could definitely add it to your list of services number 14 is Community Management whether somebody has a community on Facebook or LinkedIn or a site like school they need someone to actually help them manage that Community what does that mean when people are asking questions in the community there needs to be someone to respond to them right and so if you can answer customer service emails then you can answer questions inside of a community as well and then for number 15 I'm going to lump it into a category of its own which is just virtual assistant typing work right and this really spans the gamut of anything else and that's why when somebody starts a virtual assistant business I tell them hey just put General admin so that you have a bucket that people can say o does this fall into this does this fall into that and then you get to decide if the answer is yes or no this could be typing up or organizing meeting notes it could be when your client says ooh will you shoot an email to so and so and ask if they could meet me at this time right so there's a lot of different things that could fall under just that General admin bucket but I think that it's worth it to acknowledge there's so so much more that you can do with your typing and organization skills as a general virtual assistant okay so these are the 15 online typing jobs that you could start today and you might be thinking okay Abby you've listed these jobs but how do I actually find them right where do I actually find this type of work well sure there are specialized platforms like rev or transcribe me or scribby where you can go in and you can actually apply to work for them but note that these are going to pay way less than if you were to start your own virtual assistant business I would say that that's kind of tier one if you're just wanting to get started and you want to see can I even do this type of work you can potentially apply to one of those businesses the next level would be to look at freelancing sites where jobs are posted this could be upwork or fiver or free ler.com all of these sites are going to have jobs like this posted it's data entry it's General VA work it's answering customer service emails and there are jobs like this posted every single day and again the amount is going to range so don't ever take a job that you don't agree with the amount because yes there are three and $5 jobs posted on that site but you can actually set a minimum on most of these sites and say I don't want to see jobs less than $20 per hour and you can filter them that way now if you really want to make good money with your typing abilities the best way in my opinion to do that is by starting your own virtual assistant business as a virtual assistant you set your own rates and packages so maybe you have a package of 10 hours per month that is $300 right so a small business owner would pay you $300 every single month and they have 10 hours of your time and in that you could be doing all of these right social media scheduling data entry answering customer service emails you are that business owner's rightand person and it's actually easier than you think to find clients I have an entire training on how to find virtual assistant clients it's called become a
