Rihanna's Rude Boy Dance Tutorial

What's up, guys? Welcome back. Another tutorial today.

In this one, we're doing Rihanna's Rude Boy Super Bowl remix. I think you're going to really like this one. Let's get it step by step.

Once you get it down, of course, post your covers because this is our next dance challenge. If you're ready, let's get started. All right, guys. Let's get started with this one. The first thing you're going to do is catch this little t-t-t-t-t-boom sound at the beginning.

You're just going to do a body wave up. I let my knees knock in a little to add an effect. I'm going body wave up. Dee dee dee dee dee.

And then on the base, boom, I'm hitting my shoulder. You can pop your chest. You kind of have a free option there.

But I really like this shoulder. Dee dee dee dee, right shoulder, boom, hitting on that one. Then from here, the dance actually starts. You're going to catch. She's going to say, come here, rude boy, boy, and wave and pull.

So this is going to be fast. So we have to really have a lot of energy right out the gate. You want to think of jumping into your right hip. So I'm going, boom, come here, rude.

boy, and a hands and a zoom. So you've probably seen this move before if you've done my tutorials, but you want to bring your left hand on top of your right, you're opening your hands up, and then stepping out on your right and we're body wave. Good.

So let's just get that much. You're going six, seven, I'm sorry, start on seven, five, six, this is seven, 80. And boom, come here, rude boy, boy, and a wave and pull. All right, one more time a little faster, then we'll go on. Five, six, seven, 80, and a one. Come here, rude boy, boy.

Is you hot, hot. Hey, so you start to feel the energy. You got to really move here.

Then from here, you're going to go right, left, catch. So I'm punching down with my right hand. I'm just sort of rotating my body to the right.

Here, I'm going to contract because I'm going to go boy, boy. So I'm catching my chest out in on that boy, boy. Come here, rude boy, boy. You're going to go cross and up.

And at the same time, you're going to lift that right leg and also your right hip. So you don't want to just lift your leg to the front. You also want to rotate it because we're going to go.

So you're going to turn it in even further. So you're here. You're going in, in. You're going to step forward on that right foot.

You're going to hit to the camera. So crossing my arms to throw. Cross. Throw, I'm going to turn on this left foot to the back. I'm going to body roll up, and I'm going to go lovey.

She says lovey, lovey. At least I think that's the words. I might be wrong. Let's go slowly from the top. We're going to put all that together.

I know I just taught you a lot, but because you guys probably know the lyrics to this song, it's going to be really easy to remember once you do it a couple times. So you have six, seven, 80, and a boom. Come here, rude boy, boy.

And a dot, dot, dot. Come here, rude boy, boy, is you ha, ha. Take it, take it, roll, throw, turn, down, lovey, lovey.

Hey, all right, one more time, just like that. Let's just catch that new part. So from the punches, it's punch and catch, boy, boy, and up, click, click.

You want to be really strong with those. Throw, bring this around, down, la-vi. Nice.

Good. One more time from the top. Just put a little bit of energy, a little bit of speed behind it, and then we'll go on.

Five, six, seven, 80, and boom. Come here, rude boy, boy, and a roll and pull. Come here, rude boy, boy, is you bigger?

Hey, boom, boom, scoop, throw, turn, and la-vi, la-vi. Nice. Good.

Let's go, boys. Energy has got to go even higher. We're going to scoop down, up.

You're going to pick that right knee up to smack. Bring it back. Left and right and.

Good. Let's break that down. So the first move, you're just dropping your level, scooping.

You pick this up to the center and I'm rolling my hands up to get this really clean effect here. And then I'm falling onto that right leg. Smack.

Coming back around and I bring this right hand. Whoop around my head and then I come down into this. And what's going to make this section look really good is this sort of fluid connection.

So you don't want to feel like one, two, three, four, right? It should all kind of go together. So you want to think scoop, up, smack, around, and whoop, drop into this groove. Then you're just going to pull your elbow, punch, pull your elbow, scoop. Up and down and right, right.

Nice. So we got a lot of hands and legs and body working together in this piece. So this pull is with your elbow, pull, punching down and contracting, pull, scooping that right leg. Then I'm coming up and down. And notice my knees are going out and out.

Then I'm just going to go out again with my legs, right arm up, right arm up. Yeah. So when you do this section, come here rude boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, come here rude boy, boy, boy, sophisticated baby. I think she says sophisticated baby, sophisticated. We're going to go with that.

We're going to go with that. It's 50% right, but for sure the timing of it is right. Yeah.

So let's do it together from this new section on the scoop. And I'll kind of give you my best impression of the lyrics. Six, seven, eight, boom. Come here rude boy, boy, boy.

A six, seven, eight, pull one. Come here rude boy, boy, boy. Sophisticated. Nice. From here we just got a couple more eights.

So let's finish it up and then we can always go back. We'll clean it up. You're going to pull again with both hands. You're going to throw and then I'm going to drop onto my right and onto my right.

Good. So this groove is really easy. Your left arm is here.

You're just going out, in, out, in. So it's like your right hand is leading your leg. Yeah, leading your leg.

Good. And then all we're doing is two of them. The first one is to the side here.

Then we're going to do the other one to the other side here. And then you're going to pull it back in to go. The last one should really be strong. So I'm saying no, no, no. And I'm going to look.

And your feet here, you're just kind of going right, left, right. You're falling back on that right foot to the back. So, I'm going right, left, nice. Good.

So, let's take it from here and then we'll put it all together. We almost got it done. Just one more eight count after that.

So, you have seven, eight, and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. To the right you scoop one, two, three, scoop. Sophisticated. eight, pull, two, three, four, other side, six, a seven and swap.

Nice. Last eight count. From here, you're going to pull one, bring it to the front. You're going to go pull and catch.

So this step is really fun. You should do a really full out throw. You're bringing your right arm over and pull.

So let's get just our feet. Our feet are going heels and heels. Yeah.

And I kind of drop down when I do it. My right arm is going pull and catch. Then I'm going to step on the left.

I'm just going to go grab and grab. And I'm going to do one more of these spinny thingies. Y'all know I love a spinny thingy.

Spinny thingy. Hand is sort of waiting here. You're going to look to the front. And then there's a boom, a base that you're going to hit back. And you have a few options here.

If you want to just kind of roll back, body roll, you can sit into it. You can give it a little magic mic. moment.

If you really want extra credit or you're super flexible, you can go all the way back or go down on the floor. Do whatever you want. Be careful. Obviously, stretch.

Don't do anything crazy. Watch out for the coffee table and stuff. Go off.

That's the ending. You made it to the end. Great job.

Now, what we got to do is put it together and perform it a little bit. Let's do just that last part one more again. After you did this groove, you came in. This was your seven and eight.

Remember, it's one, pull. Catch, down and down and around and look. Base, hit.

Nice, okay. We're going to take it back to the very, very top. Super slow first just so you can get the whole sequence and you have something that you can run a couple times.

Here we go. Five, six, seven, a 80 and a one. Come here rude boy, boy is you, dot, dot, dot.

Come here rude boy, boy. Cross and bring it up. Click, hit, and a scoop, throw, and a turn.

A, love V, love drop. One, come here, rude boy, boy. And five, six, seven. Good, scoop. One, come here, rude boy, boy.

Scoop, two, top, top, top. And A, A, pull one, throw two, three, four. Other side, six, a seven, and A.

Boom, come here, rude boy, A. Ah, da, da, da, da, da, da, look. Ay, throw it back.

Nice. Good. So you can start to kind of feel the parts where you have to push a little bit. This part here, doom and ga, da, da, da, da, zoom and ha, look, boom.

It gets a little quick. So all that means on those sections where it gets faster is you can't be complacent. You can't be lazy with your arms. It has to be grab, catch, grab, catch, grab, catch, zoom, boom, ha, go.

Yeah, you have to really attack it. So, now that we got the steps. Let's put that energy in it. Let's take it all the way up to speed and then I'll send you over to try it with some music. Here we go.

Five, six, seven, 80 and boom. Come here rude boy, boy is you hot. Hey, come here rude boy, boy is you bigger.

Two and a three, catch and five, six, lovey, lovey, drop. Two, three, eight and five and seven. Pull, go one, two, three, scoot.

Fist, a fist, a catered egg. Go one, two, three, four, five, take it back, seven and swap. One, two, ay, and ka.

Ta, ta, ta, ta, ta, ta, look. Boom. Ay, okay.

All right, if you got it down, let's try it with some music. This is the maximum, faster, faster This is let it go, I can let it go This is let it go, I can let it go Think I'm too much, think that you gotta go Got full power, never hit the brakes No karma, I gotta go, I gotta get Alright, so now that you guys got the choreo, got some music to practice it with, of course, go practice it along with my YouTube or my Instagram posts.
