Blackboard Learn Overview

Authentication Process

Username and Password

  • Users are required to enter their username and password to access Blackboard Learn.
  • A "Forgot Password?" option is available for password recovery.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • Step 1:
    • Download and install an authenticator app on your phone. Recommended apps include:
      • Microsoft Authenticator
      • Google Authenticator
      • Authy
  • Step 2:
    • Open the authenticator app on your phone.
    • Use the phone's camera to scan a provided image or manually copy the key.
    • Confirmation: Once the key is copied, an image indicating completion appears.
  • Step 3:
    • Enter the generated code from the authenticator app to associate it with your Blackboard account.
    • Options to cancel or proceed ("Next") are provided.

Code Verification

  • Users must enter a 6-digit temporary code generated by the authenticator app.
  • Options to go back or submit the code are available.

Finalizing MFA

  • Upon successful setup, MFA is enabled for the user's Blackboard account.
  • A login code will be required anytime the user logs in, especially from unrecognized devices.
