it's a nice spring day and you figure it's time to get back into your healthy habits just in time for summer so you search on youtube for some inspiration and some videos wait this kind of looks like me but we all know that healthy habits aren't created overnight and consistency is key to a balanced and healthy lifestyle. So I wonder which of these habits did she keep up with and benefited her the most? Today, we're going to go through some of the healthy habits that I've kept up with every day, some of which I don't do anymore or do occasionally, and lastly, some habits that I've been really loving and that I've added into my routine. Let's get into the video. To you, brother, even when you're sick Lost your way in the madness of New York City One habit that I've always stuck to is sleeping 8 hours and waking up at the same time every day.
It's definitely a privilege to get enough sleep and I do not want to take it for granted. Some days when I had too much work and stayed up all night, I always feel terrible the next day. So I'm going to show you how I do it. it all takes sleeping over going out or watching Netflix any day teeth house is something I've cupped up with as well because it's so important we've only got one set of adult teeth I try to at least keep up with brushing every morning and night as well as flossing in the evening and sometimes using mouthwash As someone who used to struggle a lot with their skin, I now keep a consistent skincare routine and I think it's paid off.
Some days we might have some breakouts here and there, but I think my skin has made tremendous progress. I usually cleanse my skin and double cleanse. at night then apply my go-to products which are vitamin C serum with hyaluronic acid plus moisturizer and sunscreen in the mornings.
In the nighttime, I apply retinol and moisturizer as well. Sometimes I add some other products too but those are my staples. One mindset change that sometimes helps me is think about doing chores as a privilege.
You might forget that a lot of normal things for us is actually privilege, like having two legs, being able to see, being able to read and write, and having the internet. and capable body that's able to work out and go to the gym is a privilege. I get to have a room and an apartment to clean and I'm so thankful.
Being able to draw and write in my journal is a privilege. Recognizing our privilege doesn't negate our hard work or difficulties that we've been through to get here, but it helps me keep a positive and hopeful mindset. Some days, no matter how positive we train ourselves to be though, some things may feel like chores, which is totally normal. On those days, I like to think about how great and accomplished we'll feel afterwards, as well as make habits easy and fun like doing it with a friend, partner, and making exercise a sport or activity, as well as set mini small goals for ourselves that are easily accomplished.
Eventually, everything will become automatic. I also want to remind everyone that how things feel is much more important than how it looks. Some people love to make their lives look aesthetic and it motivates them, but just because you don't have matching workout sets or fancy water bottles doesn't mean you can't participate in a healthy lifestyle.
So don't be afraid to sweat during a gym session or make mistakes in your journal. Sure, it might not look perfect, but nobody is and you'll feel so great afterwards. So don't be afraid of starting healthy habits because it doesn't look flawless.
The gates are open for anyone who's trying to become the best version of themselves, aesthetic or not. Do it for you. Now, I don't exactly count how many cups of water I drink a day anymore, but I always make sure to have my water bottle full and right beside me when I'm doing anything.
It's gotten me to drink a lot more water and I probably drink on average two of these bottles a day. So no more dehydration headaches for me! Also a reminder to drink water if you haven't today yet. Eating well is so important to me because I truly believe what I consume can affect me so much.
Although, to make it easier for myself, I don't exactly count the amount of fruits I eat. and vegetable servings i eat a day but i stick to 80% unprocessed whole foods and i try to eat fruit or add vegetables to every meal however the other 20% of the time i don't like to restrict myself and for me balance is super important If it stands in the rain, spend the night, the day's two Staying out late, all the things that I do All these little moments, I'm glad I always tell myself I'm doing fine I don't need help, just need a little time And I've been so patient, quietly waiting Someone that's time to come home Anything worth doing is worth doing badly. For example, if showering feels like too much, just scrub or wash your face.
If cleaning the whole apartment or room is too difficult, just pick up a few clothes. Brushing your teeth for 10 seconds is better than not brushing them at all. outside for 10 minutes instead of doing an hour of high-intensity interval training is better than just sitting around.
Not everything we do has to be perfect. We might not do everything completely one day or skip a day, but the next day we pick ourselves back up. Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly because doing it poorly is better than not doing it at all.
Something that I've been loving is using my bullet journal. I feel like it adds creativity into my life while combining both planning and journaling. In my journal, I have a habit tracker and every week I have a spread to pile out my to-do list for each day and schedule. events. Today I drew out my monthly June title page to prepare for next week.
Rebecca here and if you made it this far in the video thank you so much for watching it would help me out so much if you gave this video a like and you subscribe to my channel we're almost at 200,000 subscribers which is really crazy and leave a comment down below if you have any questions or anything I read every single one of my comments all right have a lovely day goodbye Do it to me, I'm the one A new habit that I'm currently trying to implement more in my routine is stretching and rolling out. I use this lacrosse ball for my back and it feels so good. I feel like I've had back pain since middle school.
I also use a foam roller for the rest of my body. It like hurts so bad. in a good way if that makes sense. Other than rolling out my muscles, I like to do the daily 15-minute stretch by Maddie Morrison whenever I can.
Not only is it good for your muscles, but also I think it provides a time for mental clarity and just spending time with my own thoughts. Where are we going? Soccer. Wow, it landed straight.
Exercise has been so important for my mental and physical health. Lately, I've been going to the gym less and playing a lot more sports as the weather has gotten so nice outside. I definitely want to take advantage of the sun while- it still lasts. I think not only is it good for physical health, but I love the fresh air and socializing with other people. For me, my goal is to just get my body moving every day.
I don't follow an extremely strict workout routine, but I just do what makes me feel good and makes me happy. Your smile is your, your eyes Ultimately, we can't rely on just motivation. We have to rely on discipline. Motivation may get us through the door, but what happens when it's gone? Living a healthy, balanced lifestyle is a lifelong commitment.
Remember that falling off track doesn't mean that end of the world. I used to struggle with all or nothing thinking, like if I didn't start my new year's resolutions by January 1st, then I'd have to wait until the next year. Or if I had a couple of chocolates, might as well have the whole pack, right? For me, what worked was starting with small attainable habits and build from that.
I felt so much better when I was consistent and I saw noticeable progress in every area of my life, which led me to continue consistently doing these habits. More paying, wishing, waiting, taking, taking, taking, baby And we're missing all the time, we first met, I think I can see that's all you ever told, yeah You said come right on over to show ya I cherish all your lies And after all this time I'm feeling fine Cause you said this is all you want Playing, playing, playing on us Waiting, waiting, waiting Call you, know you Feel the same as I do We fell in love in the winter Miss you most in the fall On camera Three years, eleven months Together after... And then he dropped the pole and was on.
Oh no! Stop! That was scary.
I like that bit. I can't say I know everything but these are the habits that I've stuck to every day and some advice for your journey as well. I know life can be confusing sometimes but at least we're in this together.
