Site of chemical reactions.
Cell Membrane:
Regulates entry and exit of molecules.
Mitochondria:
Site of aerobic respiration.
Ribosomes:
Site of protein synthesis.
Unique Structures in Plant Cells
Chloroplasts
Contain chlorophyll, the site of photosynthesis.
Key distinction as animal cells lack chloroplasts.
Cell Wall
Made of cellulose, providing strength and structure.
Present in algae as well as higher plant life.
Large Permanent Vacuole
Filled with cell sap, helps maintain cell shape.
Additional Notes
Algae, as a simple plant form, also possess cellulose cell walls.
