[Music] [Music] everybody come on in Come on in It's another Tuesday night I'm here in the Judah studios and uh so excited to be with you on this Tuesday night I believe I have a word for you I believe I have something that is going to impact your life But before I share that as you all just I know it takes a long time It's kind of like church you know people just slowly come on in But uh the one thing you can do uh that you can't do when you're at church and that's pull somebody into that service with you by sharing sharing sharing sharing sharing If you haven't invited them to church and they're not in the car with you you've lost out on bringing them to church But you can bring them to church right now you can just share share share and it'll be a blessing I know it'll be a blessing to their life I know it'll be an encouragement to their life And I know it's going to be an encouragement to you Yeah if you're a tither and a giver I want to remind you boy last week thank you so much People responded so well and I appreciate it so much Uh last week people sewing seeds uh into this house into this ministry into this broadcast The fact that uh you know that you're a part of it you know that after being connected with this and watching this that your life can make an impact on somebody else's life just by simply giving And uh and we know this every time we give the Bible says "Give and it shall be given unto you good measure pressed down shaken together and running over." So you can tithe if you're a part of Judah an emember And if you're not a part of Judah and I always say this and this might sound odd but I always say this the people that are actually not members of this church and the people that do not see this as their church obviously I don't believe you ought to be tithing here but I believe you ought to be sewing a seed uh more than the people that attend this church uh uh give their offering Everybody that attends this church ought to give tithes and offerings but you get an opportunity to be blessed by the ministry of Judah uh and you don't pay for the light bill and the air and the and the staff and all the things it takes to keep a ministry going So take time today and sew a seed I believe that uh you'll see an impact in your own life from that and God will bless us as well and give us the opportunity to reach more people All right So Tuesday night and I'm in here uh my audience uh is our media crew and and I got I got my faithful member uh Brother Tibby over here And I I tell you what every time I come over here to do a Tuesday night live I got to bring him He won't let me leave the house without him He knows where I'm headed And as you can see he's uh Y'all got him in this shot yeah As you can see Jimmy he's so excited I mean he's just so pumped Look at him I mean he just he's just you know what I'm saying look at that You ain't never seen anybody excited to hear me preach like this right my lord Well uh thank God that you have a little more energy than Tibby tonight And I've got a lot more energy right now I want to speak to you on the the three uh uh the three areas that God has impacted us with to be for others So it' be really three characteristics of a true Christian I think that's what we titled this tonight Three characteristics of a true Christian Uh now we understand that it's just basic It's f fundamental foundational for us to love everybody Jesus said "Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself." But I want to focus in on the three uh uh essential areas that a true Christian according to Jesus should have and should be and the impact of those things in the lives of other people Jesus is talking to people one day and he's ministering to disciples He's ministering to the crowd He's ministering to the church leadership everybody And as he's ministering to them he tells them three things that they are And then he tells them the what happens if they're not those three things He tells them uh the the impact of the three And then he tells them the impact if those three things are not effective in their lives and utilized in their lives This is what he told them Think about it He says three things to them in Matthew chapter 5 He says I think it starts around verse 13 He says "You are the light of the world or the salt of the earth the light of the world and you're a city on a hill." Now let's type all that in just so I can pull you in and get everybody that's just jumping on to to understand what we're talking about Three characteristics Salt light height City on a hill Salt light height City on a hill Let's talk about that word salt because he says he says you're the salt of the earth Now I'm going to just say this I just came back a while back and thank everybody for praying for my brother Greg who had open heart surgery a few weeks ago Thank you so much He's doing so much better He's improving every day So I thank you for that And he thanks you and his whole family thanks you Um but salt I just got back the other day from Louisiana Obviously my brother was in the hospital so I was there But while we were there we we stopped in Oak Grove Louisiana We went to Colombia Louisiana Then we went to Ununice Louisiana Then we went to Lafayette Louisiana Here's this this is what we did Every place we stopped we ate Cajun food Can you hear me Jimmy cajun food I mean we ate and we ate Well I feel something when I'm in Louisiana eating The impact of what I eat is totally different than when I'm anywhere else And the reason is salt seasoning on that food impacts your body It impacts your mood It impacts the food It everything salt And we can tell when things are not properly salted because a lot of the stuff that they cook is done through simmering through time It's not just a steak It's like a fay in a pot Gumbo cooks for few hours in a pot Boiled crawfish boiling in water And so that salt or that seasoning in those things in those items over a over a little bit of time it impacts the taste of it and gives it its flavor So Jesus was basically saying to us as Christians which a lot of Christians need more of is seasoning And I'm not talking about time I'm talking about personality I'm talking about can we be happy because we've got the truth I mean you think the people that have the truth that have that have God on their side that have unity in the church and brotherly love and I mean when I put in that my brother needed prayer over a thousand people commented praying praying praying Who gets that when it you know the church we should be people that are so so full of seasoning so so happy so impacted so blessed that everybody in our lives that come around us they sense feel taste they understand that we have something on our lives that is not normal it's it's seasoned different and and so I I just want you to understand one of the essential you have to have to be a Christian Jesus says you need to know that you are salt Now let me tell you something Salt doesn't just season food Salt and salt can preserve food You put salt on things to preserve things Salt doesn't just season and preserve Salt is a healer You can put salt on things to heal it wounds a a a sore throat salt Look we should we should go around adding seasoning to people's lives flavor to their lives Then we should be healers in their lives Then we should then we should be uh preservatives for their lives You can make it Hold on It's not over Come on somebody type that in there Salt I am salt I go to some churches and you know what frustrates me the most about going to a lot of different churches is this very seldom do I get the opportunity to go to a church that lives on the inside what they name themselves on the outside praise tabernacle you'll see it they don't know how to praise worship center there ain't nobody in there worshiping you know uh uh whatever it it it's rarely what they name themsel that you walk in and experience Listen let me tell you something When it when it says spicy it ought to be spicy When it says when it says praise it ought to have praise When it says worship you ought to feel that worship going What are you in the earth salt Salt Why when everybody talks to you you're down You're negative You're you're defeated No you're the head not the tail You're the top not the bottom I'm not talking about what you feel like I'm not talking about a temporary season your seasoning at all times Stop constantly making a season of your life your whole life Your salt be salt Then he says he says you're light Light illuminates Light reveals Light leads Light comes on And people now that are confused and are dazed have clarity I know this at night you you know I travel a lot I mentioned that And sometimes I'm in so many different hotels in one week I forget where I am I forget that the dresser was over here when I came in And then the next night the dress is over here and the bathroom might be over to my left when I come in But now the bathroom's to the right Well guess what I guess what I've learned to do every time I get up if it's in the middle of the night I turn a light on Why it eliminates confusion It gives me clarity on where I should go It illuminates what I cannot see and find Light That's what your life ought to be Come on somebody I know you hear me Put some thumbs up Give me some praise Some some praise God That's right You I am light Put it in there I am light I'm light When I walk in and someone says "I just don't see any way out of this." Who should be the light oh I can tell you a way out of it I just don't know where I'm going Listen the the word of God is a lamp under my feet and a light You're a light And hey let me tell you something else In in Florida we have such such hot temperatures There are there are uh uh help me Jimmy What do they call plant when you put plants in these things and then there hang lights over them these green houses right green houses right green houses and over all these plants will be lights What are those lights doing those lights are are ensuring a balanced temperature so that the plant that is potted can begin to grow so that once it's grown to a certain level it can now be taken out and planted It can now be the tree it needs to be or or whatever it needs to be And you know what assisted that you know what helped that light light Stop bringing dark situations into places that need light And let me tell you another thing I had some people get all upset with me one time because of where I went to minister They were like I can't believe you went there You know that's the world that that they don't believe anything we believe I just can't believe you were allowed your ministry to be associated with that Well where should light go should light just sit around with light or should light go to dark places come on get a grip Be some salt Get some seasoning in your life Get some flavor in your life and be light Don't just shine your light on light Shine your light in darkness And he said and another thing when you get to dark situations when you get where light is needed he says this He says "Don't hide it under a bushel Don't don't cover your life." Well I don't want anybody to know that who I am or whatever Maybe that person has been in such turmoil in their life that they said "Man I just I don't have anybody to talk to I don't have anybody to go to I don't have anybody to tell what's going on in my secret place." That's what I talked to you about in in a previous Tuesday night my secret place And here you walk in and you're light And Jesus said he said "If you're salt and you lose that flavor that savor that impact you're nothing You're no good useless stale If you're light and you're covered you're not an impact anymore." And then he said thirdly he said "You're salt you're light and you're a city on a hill You're height You're up You're not down You're up You're you're positioned in a high place." Do you want me to tell you why he said that the reason Jesus said that was for two reasons Number one every tabernacle was to be built on a hill so that people every time they went to church they weren't going down to go to church They were going up to go to church David said "I'll look to the hills cuz that's where my strength and my help comes from." Why that's where the temple was up on Mount Zion Hi Jesus told them they were a city on a hill because every city on a hill had a temple So that people when they would go to the tabernacle they were going up Come on man Don't go to a church that drags you down Don't be a part of a church that every time you go over there you leave lower than you did when you got there It's time for a change God wants us elevated God wants us up That's why he said "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength." Oh yeah You going to run You going to walk But he said "Really what you were built for is wings like an eagle." Up Abraham I want you to go sacrifice Isaac Where up Why that's where the provision's going to be That's where the promise is going to be That's where I'm going to show up Up Get up Where are we going to crucify Jesus up on a heel Why because if if I be lifted up I will draw You are a city on a hill And the second reason was this Every battle that was ever fought the army that was on the top fighting downward was always at an advantage to the army fighting up And God says "If you understand who you are your salt your flavor your seasoning your light you're illuminating healing directing you are giving insight." And he said "You're a city on a hill." Watch this No weapon formed against you If God be for you who can be against you come on somebody I'm salt I'm I'm light And I'm I'm a city on a hill He says "I want you to know that as long as you're up here understanding who you are every battle has to come up to you You don't bring yourself down to the battle You're not trying to fight to get up You are fighting on a downward slope because you are the top You're not the bottom." I encourage you today understand who you are There's three characteristics of a Christian and that's who you are Well yeah but Bishop you don't know what I'm going through Huh okay Well Bishop you don't know what I'm facing All right Well Bishop well let me ask you Is everything you're going through going to stop you from being salt light and a city on a hill no it doesn't Your temporary inconvenience should not change your permanent existence You are who he said you are no matter what And you know what he wants to see he wants to see if you will praise him in the good times If you will praise him in the bad times He wants to see if you'll be salt whenever it's difficult He wants to know if you'll be light when the darkest season is in your own life He wants to see if you're going to be that city up on the hill whenever everything you walk through is trying to drag you down You're down financially You're down emotionally You're down relationally You're down spiritually He says "Hey yeah but are you going to get up and be who you're supposed to be are you going to do that i believe you can do it." Many many years ago my lord I'm telling you it's years ago I wrote a song and probably close to the most requested song that I've ever sung in my whole life I don't know how many times I've sung this song but I know exactly where I wasn't I didn't feel like I was on a hill I didn't feel like I was lit up with light and I didn't feel any flavor or seasoning I walked into a hospital in Apopka Florida and the doctors asked me if I'd love to see my mom one more time She had passed away at my home here in Florida We called 911 rushed her to the hospital Now she lay in that hospital womb lifeless The hands that held me as a child couldn't reach out to me The voice that used to say I'm proud of you couldn't say a word The eyes that would see through my pain and say it's going to be all right could not see me any longer I didn't feel like salt I didn't feel like light and I didn't feel like I was up And on the back of the bed on the front of the bed where her feet were there was a clipboard and it said Iris Brown time of death They didn't know what she died from yet They speculated a heart attack or whatever but it just said Iris Brown time of death And then the doctor's name and I flipped the paper over and there was another paper underneath it with a bunch of stuff to read but it would it it didn't have any writing on it and I popped that paper o off and folded it and I put it in the top of that clipboard over Iris Brown time of death I took that pen that was sliding in there and I wrote these words If the sun says I won't rise if dark clouds fill my skies Lord just know that I will always give you praise And when trouble's on the way it doesn't matter I'm going to always say it And then I went into that course Lord I praise you I glorify your name And this song that you're about to hear from way back in the day I think it was at one of our Judah conferences that we did in the convention center maybe that people have watched requested been ministered to I wanted to restore your flavor your light and know that where you are in God is higher than you think Seasons change but not the salt not the light and not the height I praise you I love you Just remember you're more than a conqueror Till next time why don't you let this old song hospital and just begin to praise him take you to the next level open up your blessing [Music] Lord listen I praise you Lord I glorify your name I feel the Holy Ghost tonight [Music] Lord I praise you Woo And Lord I glorify your name Help me choir Come on y'all sing Oh I praise you Come on you can say it with us I glorify I glorify your name Glorify your name Lord I praise you Lord I praise you I glorify your name now listen And if the sun says I won't rise if dark clouds fill my sky listen Lord just know that I will always give you praise And with troubles on my way I will always say "No matter come what may I'll always give you praise."
