hello and welcome to this new video today we are going to learn how to give a command or order or even request something in Arabic so let's get [Music] started as you know tenses in Arabic are past present and no not future it's imperative we are using imperative to give a command or an order to someone in Arabic it can also be used to make a request or give an advice for example we can talk about a very simple verb like which means study he studies the past tense of it will be and the imperative will beus only only that verb means I order you to study or I request you to study we are doing the same in the verb yakos yakos it means to sweep he is sweeping or he sweeps the past tense will be and the imperative will be only that verb means I order you or I request you to sweet one more verb if you are talking about which means he washes the past tense will be and the imperative will be I know that this one is a little bit different in the first two examples we used on but in this one we used and I'll tell you why in the moment the easiest way to get a verb in imperative in Arabic is to get it from the present tense so if we have a verb like yes in the present tense the rule is saying that we have to cut that prefix of the present tense which is y we need to take that out and we need to add and instead of it so it will will be but before we decide to put we need to have a look at the third letter if there was D on it then this Al should have D instead of KAS and this is the exception after cutting the prefix of the present tense if we are left with a verb which is having if W or in the middle of it it's going to be easier in that case we need to just cut this Al if or W or from the middle and now we are having the imperative form so for example a verb like y after cutting the prefix of the present tense which is we will be left with n and to change that into imperative we need to just cut this Al if from the middle of the verb so it will be you might get confused with a verb like after we cut the prefix of the present tense which is we'll be left with Al with ham but at the end of the verb not in the middle in this case we will apply the previous rule which is adding and in the beginning of it so it will be the same for a verb like which means start after cutting from the beginning of it we will be left with which is having and ham at the end of it so we'll be applying the previous rule adding and in the beginning so it will be so what if a after cutting the prefix of the present tense yeah from the beginning we find ourselves left with Y without dots at the end of the word like in the verb after cutting from the beginning it will be in this case we'll be applying the previous rule but with some modifications we will just add Al if and in the beginning and we'll cut this without dots and add instead so it will be if you found that after cutting the prefix of the present tense from the beginning of the verb you are left with a verb out of more than three letters so the imperative mostly will be the same as the past tense only will be changed like the verb after cutting the prefix it will be this verb is out of more than three letters in this case the imperative will be the same as the past tense only T will be different in the past it is in the imperative will be there is a very simple disclaimer here this is not everything about imperative I just try to bring you the commonly used verbs in the daily life as I like to keep things as simple as possible but if you are a Quran scholar or some sort of linguist this video is totally not for you you can check online for the full rules of imperative in details this is all what I got for you today if you learn something new please do not forget to like subscribe and share thank you and see you next time
